This was the Authors first go at a Contemporary romance and she blew me away. This book was steamy, with twists and turn around every corner. I love a good leading female who gives as good as she gets. This book will keep you on your toes. The pages HEAT up for sure. The ending was a SHOCK to my system that I did NOT see coming! AMAZING READ! I will re-read this one many times. Great story line!
Love, love, love! Oh Rhys – you’re mine!!!! Amazing read, so engrossing, unpredictable and beautiful in its pathos…

Can they work through the ghost of their past to get a happy ending.
Parts were very repetitive which got annoying. As a reader I don’t enjoy being reminded of thoughts and character traits too frequently. It’s a very fine balance between too many reminders and not enough that this book wasn’t able to capture. Because of this, I skipped sections. However, the twist in the story was excellent. Very creative.
Sizzling, Stirring, Smokin’ hot, an Emotional Rollercoaster…
It took me a while to get around to reading Buried Alive, seeing that I typically prefer to read fantasy and paranormal romance. I’m a huge fan of Brown’s PNR series, and that is what I have come to know and love of her writing. Yesterday I began reading Buried Alive, and I literally could not put it down. If not for work and my own writing, I would have finished this book in under a day. Once again Brown wove her writing magic in this not so typical contemporary romance, and I quickly became immersed in Rhys and Hannah’s story. Once I connected with the characters, I went through a gambit of emotions as their story began to unfold.
Brown has a way of taking a dark and twisted story and bringing it to life, and boy, she did not fail to deliver. Hannah’s tragic past is hinted at for the first half or more of the book, and she has been all but consumed by guilt and the secrets that she has kept bottled up for the better part of 9 years. Lest the reader not forget, she is 24 making her just a kid when events unfold that will forever change her life. Buried Alive picks up at the point where she is at a crossroads in her life, and as you would have it, fate has a funny way of delivering Hannah back to where it all began. Then, in walks Rhys, a larger than life snowboarder, that is too good looking for his own good. Did I mention that he’s a total dick? Yeah, well, there’s that. He also is struggling with his own personal demons from his past. As their two lives collide there is an instant attraction, but ghosts from the past haunt them both hindering what could be an epic love. Will the two be able to put the past behind them once and for all? I refuse to give too much away here.
I found myself pulling for Hannah and Rhys, desperate for them to find their HEA. This is a tale of tragedy, families all but broken from the events that played out nine years prior. There are moments when things are so utterly bittersweet I’m not sure if I’m happy or saddened by what is unveiled. There are heartbreaking moments which left me feeling battered. Make no mistake these characters are broken, but by no means beaten, and in the end, their long fought battle with their inner demons is put to rest. This romance is sizzling, stirring, smokin’ hot, and an emotional rollercoaster. Wow, just wow. I loved it.
I’m not usually a contemporary book reader, but after I read Shatter Me, I decided to pick this one up and give it a chance. I was not disappointed. In this book, Rhys is vying for the top spot in the snowboarding olympics and Hannah is trying to move on with her life. Both are connected by an accident, but Rhys doesn’t really know that they’re connected or how much. Hannah has been keeping a huge secret for the better part of 9 years and nobody knows what really happened, and she can’t truly move forward until she forgives herself for it. I can’t say much more without giving away the entire story, but the book is well outside my usual genre for reading and I say it is well worth reading.
I’ve heard so many great things about this author, so I Pre-ordered BURIED ALIVE in December and it was winking my way since, waiting on my Kindle…
And what an amazing surprise!
I loved everything about this story:
Its structure (present / flashbacks) worked perfectly, giving us one piece at a time of this puzzle of what happened so many years ago on that mountain.
I always had this strange feeling, that truth was about to burst and bury Hannah again, and maybe this time it was going to be even worse, now that Brenn seemed to forgive a little herself and take back a little of the old Hannah.
I loved the complexity in parents-children relationships, guilt, grieving, friendship, but also the insights of the competition world itself, its pressure, the sides that are less pretty, and of course, the love story!
I loved both Brenn and Rhys because they felt real, broken, raw, they had an amazing chemistry, a great banter, and I loved every bump in their journey.
And when the truth is revealed…
Brace yourselves, ladies, this book is going to get you cold once you’ll know the truth, but also really REALLY hot with all this passion.
Sctacey M. Brown is definitly on my Stalking List!

One of my favorite lines
sure?” “Yes. I’m going to watch some TV, get lunch, sleep…then you know, have a crazy sex party, and possibly jump off the balcony naked. Is it okay with you?” “As long as you wear condoms and a helmet.” A guffaw rumbled from my chest.
Wow. Just wow. I have read one of Stacey’s books prior to having the privilege of reading Buried Alive, she decided to write out of her normal genre and I am so glad she did!
I love when I am reading a book and can’t stop and when I am not reading it, I am thinking about it. This was that book for me. So many emotions while reading. Books with depth and heart wrenching moments are hard to come by. Buried Alive will rip your heart out and slowly put it back together again.
Rhys and Hannah both have secrets and heartbreak in their lives. The gravitational pull between them is so strong neither of them can stay away from each other. However, there is secrets that must come out even if it will tear them apart.
Secrets, lies, love, heartache this story has it all. It’s so good!!
Stacey Marie Brown has an amazing flow to her writing. Her readers will start to see the world she’s creating with her words. It’s an amazing ability to have. Brown is so vivid in her descriptions and her people. Hannah needs a suitcase to carry around with her 24/7, just to help with all that baggage she has. I mean, HOLLY TAHITI does she keep a secret! And what a secret that was!! I gotta give her some major props on the relationship building between Rhys and Hannah. For a man who had a hashtag #RidingRhys specifically for her bedroom… umm… qualities, we got so much more from him. Rhys and Hannah didn’t just fall into bed immediately together, they fell into a friendship, and even that was a struggle.
This was a refreshing read. I really felt like these two could be real people out there. Brown did an amazing job of portraying real problems, real conflict. Yeah, there were some areas that I wanted more information on, but I feel fully satisfied with this story. The family dynamics are so relatable and, put aside some of the specifics, and they are common in real life families.
This book pulled me in from the first page to an unknown world of snowboarding champs. Buried Alive is a mystery that will keep you guessing through 50% only to unravel quickly in the last half. Completely unputdownable… the secrets, lies and betrayals kept me fully entranced in Stacey Marie Brown’s words.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I will leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
