Reviews:
“CJ Carmichael is a seasoned author… and this shows in Buried. She has written a fluid, easy to fall into mystery and I’m really hoping there will be more books in this series. The first installment in the Twisted Cedar Mysteries was a great read and I can’t wait for more.“ – Cozy Reader
“One of my favorite elements of Carmichael’s books is her gripping portrayal of family dynamics.” Kathy Altman, USA Today

This is a nice little mystery set in a coastal Oregon town. A successful author returns to his hometown for research and becomes involved in past secrets. This was a first for me reading this author and I’m going to stick with the series.
Well worth the time.
I read a bit ago and I am a voracious reader so can’t give in depth review. BUT I LOVE C.J.Carmichael’s work and style of writing. You can’t go wrong with her books!!
Just reread this. Fantastic if you like a spooky mystery.
The story of a true crime author who finds a story that hits a little close to home. The characters are not so perfect that you don’t believe them. Although the main mystery was not solved, another one was, by the end of the book. Worth the read. And will be checking out the rest of the series.
Enjoyed this book, couldn’t put it down. Great read.
Good story. Really enjoyed the characters. It was a bit predictable, but an enjoyable read. Awesome ending! Love It when a book doesn’t end like I think it will!
The ending left so many questions unanswered forcing you to buy the next book- no thank you!
I thoroughly enjoyed this mystery. Lots of twists and turns with intertwining story lines. The characters were well developed and the story lines well thought out. The pace was great and toward the end I couldn’t put it down. I’ve heard this one described as a cliffhanger ending but I did not feel that way at all. I feel it had just the right amount of resolution and then intrigue to get you interested in reading the next book in the series, which I am definitely going to do!
My favorite C J Carmichael yet. Looking for the next in the series.
An entertaining and interesting story. It is part of a trilogy, which means the main issue is solved, but the side issues will be solved in another book.
Fast read
Kept me on edge
Exciting, nail-biting mystery with interesting characters that kept me up late, turning pages to the very end. Loved it!
This book introduced me to the author and I’m so glad that it did. I was pulled in right away and it didn’t lose interest until the end. I will definitely read more by CJ Carmichael and can’t wait to finish the Twisted Cedars series. The characters develop and move and grow along with the story. They act and do things that are realistic to life so it makes them very relatable and as a reader you do and up caring about them and what happens to them. The main male protagionist is seemingly very selfish and unappreciative because of his poor families status in high school which comes off very pretentious and unlikable at the beginning, but he has a great arc that makes him less of a dirtbag jerk and turns him into someone the reader can truly hope for a happy ending for him. I recommend this to people who like small town murder mysteries that aren’t solely given from a cops perspective. The market is a little over saturated at the moment with books that focus on individual detectives.
I really enjoyed this book. I couldn’t put it down. I’m looking forward to reading other books in this series.
I’ve just finished the Twisted Cedar Series and would highly recommend this trilogy. Complex characters and intriguing story with just the right amount of twists and turns.
Almost finished with this book. And love it. The story line keeps you guessing, characters seem true to life. Its two stories in one, the characters story and the story that one is thinking of writing as he researches the information he has been given. You even wonder if the mystery person who sent the emails is someone he may know.
Fantastic!
Great Book – Holds your interest and you just can’t put it down.
I enjoyed this book so much I bought the other 2 in the series.
