The minute he called my name I froze.Nemesis. Bane of my existence. Why was he back in town?Once I turned around I didn’t care about anything but getting him out of town or into my bed.
I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Augustus and June. They begin their leave to hate relationship in elementary school. It progresses clear to through school but peaked when he knocked her books into a puddle. Now 13 years later he is the new teacher at her school. It is tedious relationship but doable. When past feelings are reevaluated a better future is in the books.

This story is beautiful in its aspect that people that you know from your past can also change. I love that he is changed and he wants to make it better with her. For a minute it makes you sad that she doesn’t want to give him a second chance but she finally does.

Bully to Boyfriend is one of those stories that when you read will touch you even if you not sure why.
Gus and June had an intense relationship when they were young. They both were going through their own pain and found their way to mask it by taking it out on each other.
Years later when they came back together feelings still ran high for June, even though she thought the had grown past it. Gus didn’t realize how far her hurt went. But once they were able to understand who they were and what they went through their true feelings come out.
This story will warm your heart.

Not a normal bully to boyfriend story………she is not about to let him gloss over what he did to her before
I don’t read a lot of “bully romance” as I really don’t find anything romantic about bully’s, even when they can be sexy bad boys. But I do read a lot of Kate Stone’s books so I thought I would pick this one up to read and see what happened. Well I am going to say that bully romances are still not my thing but the author has written a really interesting take on this genre. The characters of June and Gus are both quite well written and have some depth to them. Plus I love that fact that she has a backbone now and is not going to let him just gloss over what he did to her in the past……………she needs to talk it out and that is what she is going to do.
So I did enjoy this fast-paced novella that has a lot of emotion and more than a little snap, crackle and pop chemistry.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Don’t mess with a girl’s favourite book
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed each book of Kate Stone’s that I’ve read so far. And this one is no different. I’m quite intrigued by this trope, as I recall how awful some bullies were in school, and still are, in AND out of school. I’m not sure how much they really can change…
June is an English teacher at the middle school she used to attend. She has a huge workload, helping to cover for another teacher that just up and left. Alora is also a teacher at the school, and they seem like good, close friends. Enter the new replacement English teacher Augustus.
Whilst his new role will assist in lessening June’s workload, she’s NOT so happy to see him – even after 12 long years. She swiftly remembered him as the only person who intentionally called her by the wrong month, simply to antagonise her, AND the bully whose friends mocked her for the way she looked and her intelligence (because they were so academically competitive). He was a playful rival turned bully, and she wasn’t about to forgive or forget, despite the many years that had passed since. Don’t mess with a girl’s favourite book!
There is an obvious mutual attraction there, despite their history, and to be honest, their chemistry really is off-the-charts hot! But is there too much unrelenting angst and resentment to even give each other a try? Can June finally let bygones be bygones? I think a special book and the beautiful sentiment behind it (SWOON!!!) might just do the trick 😉 I think they could create something truly special.
The most disappointing part of this book was that it ended! I need MORE from this couple… what happens next?!

June is back in her small hometown teaching eighth grade English. What she didn’t expect was for her high school nemesis Gus to be hired as the other new English teacher! He bullied her terribly while growing up and made her life miserable! Only now he is gorgeous and wants to make up for the past! Gus has always been attracted to June, but treated her terribly. Can she let go of the past and forgive him? Can they find their happily ever after? Great book that I would highly recommend!

Wonderfully complex characters with deep emotions! You wouldn’t think that a story where the hero is a bully would be a sweet story, but this one is. The big difference, Gus and June last saw each other in 13 years, since eighth grade. Gus returns to town and ends up teaching Middle School English. June has also returned, is also teaching English, and ends up mentoring Gus through his first few days. June has tragedy in her past; Gus has tragedy in his present. Wildly attracted to each other, they have unresolved feeling from the past that must be addressed before they can embrace a new future. I very much enjoyed reading this story!

A great story of childhood enemies to adulthood lovers. I loved reading Gus and June’s journey, it took twelve years for fate to bring them back together again in eight grade English class. Can they both air the past and move on? Ironically, the past for one is the present for the other. I enjoyed the unfolding of the story and the emotional feelings that this well written story has you feeling. Enjoy!

This is a fast-paced novella that is quick to read, no cliffhangers and a delightful HEA. June and Gus went to school together and although they haven’t seen each other in years, it’s like they have never separated. Gus was a bit of a bully and hurt June plenty, now he’s back and wants to get to know the woman that the girl he crushed on has become. There is plenty of emotion throughout this book, their chemistry sizzles-from the fighting to their love.

I liked the way the author allowed June to work through her anger and pain as she and Gus worked through their past history of his bullying ways. Her tirade of wanting to hash out her feelings of his past behavior, while he wanted to just move on after apologizing showed the differences in how women and men deal with pain.
Their relationship had a rocky start, but turned sweeter and sweeter as the storyline developed.

This was a good book. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it considering that I have always been very iffy on the whole bully romance plot. I felt like both June and Gus were good characters and well rounded. There was certainly an interesting twist to how they truly bonded, but I don’t want to spoil!

3.5
It’s a well written, simple story about two characters who meet again and who feel the need to forgive each other for what happened during their college year. They are very attracted, but the past remains heavy between them.
June is an English teacher who meets the new replacement who is none other than Augustus, the one who harassed her during eight grade. She tries to stay herself, but her sense of hatred linked to the past is difficult to overcome although a mutual attraction seems to be developing. June has to face her demons to be able to move in one direction or another.
