To keep her clean, he’s about to get dirty…I wasn’t a rookie, but I made a mistake because I was selfish, impulsive, and headstrong.I was also in love.My desire for her overwhelmed me. Consumed me. Distracted me.To protect her, I stood motionless as my partner pried her from the security of my arms. I watched as she fought his hold. I even listened when she screamed that she hated me.For years … screamed that she hated me.
For years I’ve been patient, I’ve been smart, and I’ve gone by the book. But now… it’s finally over.
It’s time to get my girl back.
Readers are in love with Jay and Livvie’s story.
“This book has been so beautifully written it is hard to put into words. What Jay had to do to keep Livvie safe had to be the hardest thing someone had to do.” ~Elizabeth H
“Emotionally, I was on a roller coaster ride while reading it. I would read it for awhile and have to set it down. But because I couldn’t stand the suspense of waiting to see what was going to happen next, it didn’t take me long to pick it back up again. The myriad of emotions were sometimes overwhelming.” ~Princess Grandma
“I absolutely…positively….LOVED this book. It is by far my favorite of her books. This book moved me on so many levels!” ~ Mary A
“This was my favorite book of Anna’s. I did not want to put it down. I felt all the emotions of the characters. You won’t be disappointed.”~swkersusan

Bulletproof Butterfly will rip your heart wide open and then put it back together
Jay is a man of honor, who holds himself to the strictest codes whether in his profession of law enforcement or in his personal life with those who are close to him. It would be very hard to find a better partner, friend, son, brother and, especially, lover.
Olive loves her family deeply and will put them first, but is also determined to open her business and get on with her life even if it means telling Jay that he is a bit overprotective.
It was a fluke that caused Jake’s most vile, dangerous criminal to cross paths with his sweet “Livvie”, leaving them only one option to keep his woman alive.
What comes next is an amazing ride with twists & turns that will drain every emotion you have, then fill them back up again. Jay & Olive will discover new demons that try to keep them apart and to question all that they believe to be right between them.
Anna Brooks doesn’t just tell a story, she builds a world where the reader sees, hears, feels all. Bulletproof Butterfly goes to the top of my favorites bookshelf.
3.5 Stars
I first read Heartbreaker, a novella that follows Bulletproof Butterfly, so from that, I was intrigued by Olive and Jay, especially Jay’s relationship with Olive’s niece (Olivia). Because of that, I picked up Bulletproof Butterfly.
Jay and Olive met about two years ago, and are madly in love. Jay has established a relationship with Olive’s family and intends to propose to Olive. Unfortunately, events from Jay’s job cause the two of them to have to separate until a later time.
I liked the characters in Bulletproof Butterfly. I did feel that Jay’s alpha tendencies were a little over-the-top for me, but based on events in the story, I do understand them. And Olive is a great character. I understood her feelings throughout, especially toward Jay after they separated. And I understood her having trouble re-emerging into her old life. I loved Jay’s relationship with Olivia. I did have some problems with the plot. It felt really rushed to me, especially how quickly they got back together. She forgave him easier than I think I would have been able to.
Overall, I really enjoyed Bulletproof Butterfly. I’m even hoping that the twins will get their own story!
Jay is a cop. He is headstrong and demanding, what happens when he makes a mistake? One that he knows will change everything. In order to keep Livvie safe he has to push her away. It’s the only way. He knows it will hurt them both but he doesn’t have a better option.
Now its 3 years later, can he get his girl back or has the time apart changed them both too much? Can they get back to who they were or are they too different now?
Jay and Livvie’s relationship in the beginning of the book was electric and powerful and all consuming. They couldn’t get enough of each other and I couldn’t get enough of them! You could feel the chemistry between them, and it was HOT! They were truly two halves of a whole, but then life got in the way and changed everything after one fateful night.
This book was enthralling. It grabbed my attention and kept it. I enjoyed it very much.
Audiobook Review
I am still sizzling from listening to this audiobook. WOW! Anna Brooks wrote a great story for Livy and Jay. I was totally wrapped up from beginning to end and actually want more. This is a sweet love story that turns dark with bad guys and it takes a detour that takes them on a journey neither wanted. So well written and extremely hot as sin. I’ll admit while listening I also keep peeking at the cover photo, OH MY GOODNESS he is a perfect Jay. Now take all the perfection of the story and how well written it is and the hot cover then add the perfect voices of Tristan Josiah and Bree Summers and I about melted into a puddle. They were both perfect on this audio. Their timing was spot on and their voices are so pleasing to listen to I’ll be searching for more audios they have narrated.

Bulletproof Butterfly is a story with intrigue, suspense and a long awaited HEA after a forced angst filled separation.

Bulletproof Butterfly
By: Anna Brooks
Narrated by: Tristan Josiah, Bree Summers
Another great Anna Brooks book, I was recently introduced to Anna Brooks’ books, thanks Brandie and Krystyn @AudiobookObsession, and became an overnight fan. I loved and binge listened to her “It’s Kind of Personal” series and then “Easy Sacrifice”. I enjoy her wonderful writing style and how she creates interesting story lines that are original, realistic and relatable. I enjoyed every minute, every word of Bulletproof Butterfly, it had all the feels and great characters that are likable and well developed. I just loved Jay, his alpha, take no crap attitude and his possessive, over protective nature. I also adored Livvie, despite her struggles and all she endured she climbed up and prevailed. My heart went out to her. I highly recommend this book, there is never a dull moment it is filled with drama, suspense, twists, action and some great romance and lots of emotions. Anna Brooks, thanks for another great story!
I listened to the Audible edition, Tristan Josiah and Bree Summers are wonderful narrators and voice performers. They bring the character to life, give each their own distinct voice and personality. They project the characters attitude and emotions in to their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thanks for the great listen

So, this book started off so well. Likeable, believable characters, well written dialogue, a tense, believable plot and the writing was good – no glaring errors in grammar or usage. But – at some point, the main characters became caricatures. Both of them grew to annoy the heck out of me. Over-the-top behavior that if you saw acted out on screen, you would consider ludicrous and unbelievable. I like my books with more than a little heat but I found myself skipping all the sex scenes after about 75% of the book (and there were so many!) and I stopped caring what happened to the characters and the story and essentially, I was looking for it all to end. I think better editing could save this book and I’m not talking about someone double checking the spelling. So – too much gratuitous sex, too much unbelievable and uncharacteristic behavior, too long and dragged out. I will try this author again – and hope for a better reading experience.
The first chapter of this book hooked me, I needed to know more. I was excited for this story…. then I kept reading and waiting for something to happen, anything….. The book started off great but by the end I was wondering what happened to the story because nothing happened and I was left feeling like there could have been so much more to this story.
Can two people rediscover each other after being apart for years? How do you reconnect with that person who you thought you would be with every day?
That is what Livvie and Jay have to figure out after so may things have kept them apart. I struggled a little to get engrossed into the book, but I eventually did. Overall a good story premise.

Book Review: Bulletproof Butterfly
Author: Anna Brooks
FIVE STARS
Yet again Anna Brooks has written a story that makes you fall in love with both the male and female leading characters. You want to be the heroine or the Alpha male and be worshipped by the other.
She draws you in by getting you wrapped up in all the little details that make them click and then she just throws a monkey wrench into everything you thought was going to occur and makes you go OH NO!!.
This book is no exception to her previous books. This is a total stand alone. There are a few words of caution for explicit sexual nature not to mention the violence and there are some instances of self harm.
Livvie and Jay have one of those HOT as all get-out releationships that you think will never end. Then in the blink of an eye everything changes and you are spinning out of control and you wonder if there will ever be a time when you can catch your breath.
I am not going to go into detail about this book as there is SOOOO much that occurs and I dont want to take a chance on ruining any details.
I have read everything I have found from Anna Brooks and I have not at all been disappointed in any of them except that I read them way to quickly. I have enjoyed reading them ALL more than once and that will always continue. I read them so fast the first time through that when I go back and read them a second time I find little details I missed the first time around.
You will never go wrong one-clicking an Anna Brooks book!!

I enjoyed a lot of Anna Brooks stories I’ve had the opportunity of reading some of them and I really liked Bulletproof Butterfly this can be read as a standalone though a lot of the secondary characters have their own stories out there like the heroes sister who is the heroine in Fixing Fate plus the authors covers go really well with the story and describe the hero or couple perfectly . The prologue starts in the present but by chapter one we transfer to 3 years before the author did a beautiful job with that to were I wasn’t confused I’m really glade she did it that way because we got to feel how the characters felt about one another . Livvie and Jay share a lot of passion in and out of the bedroom my heart broke for them both with what they go through while being separated and their way of thinking . Can I say how much I loved Jay he’s just amazingly swoon worthy and very much devoted to the heroine even when being apart he’s not even tempted to stray he’s very protective of the ladies in his life mostly the woman that holds his heart . Now Livvie kinda had me flip flopping on how to feel about her at first I really adored her as a heroine but when we get to three years later she really irritated me to the point were I would roll my eyes at times with some of her actions but over all she is an ok heroine that I understand why she does what she does . I’m so excited to read the next one I just know it’s going to brake me because we get a little tease on what the heroine has been through .

Protect to serve is one hell of a job! No matter what division you serve in. They tell you to keep your personal matter outside the enemy lines for once your enemy divulges your weakness; all bets are off. Get ready to strap your bulletproof vest on for one emotional, endearing, passionate ride by Anna Brooks in Bulletproof Butterfly!
Never have I read a book where my heart has been shaken, shredded and torn wide open with a storyline so consuming and gripping that I was unable to catch enough breath while reading. Anna’s talented writing skills delivered a powerful romance on what happens when you must give up love for the safety of others, especially for the one who has your heart.
“…once was this girl who found the man of her dreams because she picked up a penny.”
Jay takes his job seriously as a detective and when a criminal catches wind of his love Olive he does the hardest thing possible that a man can do… sends her away. When the storm has simmered, can Olive and Jay pick up where they left off or has too much time eclipsed? Secrets are shared and guilt, grief arises, can they overcome the obstacles or will it be too much?
“Thought we were f**kin’ bulletproof. But I guess I was wrong.”
I wish I could give more synopsis insight on this marvelous book, however, this is a must read that all romance readers need to devour! I don’t want to spoil the climax, plot and the aftermath. Jay is one amazing man. Not only does he take his job seriously, but he protects with all of his heart, most importantly, the ones that are close to him; providing love and support to those around him. He is sexy, alpha and just an all around amazing man! Olive “Livvie” is a very strong, resilient young woman whom all my emotions went towards. Anna captured her emotions beautifully and delicately to which I believe all women can relate to her pain in some sort of fashion. I felt so heartbroken for her yet to see her resolve her own problems and stand on her own two feet eventually was redeeming!
Bulletproof Butterfly is beyond 5 Stars; Anna has outdone herself with her latest creation and this one will flutter your heart, mind and soul when you feel the passion flying off the pages!
