While Dawn Luke travels to her hometown of Arkansas to tend to her sick mother, London Carter is called upon to investigate the murder of a young teenager whose body is found stuffed under the exit ramp of an overpass. It was apparent to London that the murderer wanted to make sure the kid was dead, but the motive for the killing was far from obvious.Summoning the assistance of Detective Rachael … Detective Rachael Bowler, the two are finally able to locate the actual crime scene and that leads them to the identity of their young victim. But instead of providing answers, the identification leads to more questions. Could a secret involving the young man lead them to the killer, or will it only muddy the waters and interfere with their investigation?
Whatever the case, this is one killer no one should take for granted–not even a cop as skilled and gritty as London Carter.

Well written. Enjoyed it immensely.
Very clever. The technical aspects of marksmanship play an integral role in the plot. Nicely written and well crafted.
it was a great read
Please read this book…a great series.
It appears to be a sequel and I missed the start of characters, so it is rather like coming in late to a movie & you missed some important points. It was entertaining and if you like switching from one character to another, it does that. You follow to main characters on separate missions as they catch you up on what is happening with each one. I liked the story.
I like B. J. Bourg’s books. He’s from Louisiana and his writing about small towns in the state is right on. His character in this book, London, is a sniper for the local police department. The case he works on is complex. A young African American man has been killed, and there is also a police officer who seems like the logical suspect who is a kind of bad guy. The parallel story is about London’s partner, Dawn, whose mother has cancer. It’s a fast and good read.
Enjoyable
Really enjoyed the book. Learned something that I should have known all along. Enjoyed the storyline.
If this is the book I think it is, I can’t tell you. You just have to read it!
Great book! Couldn’t put it down.
Great BOOK Buy it you,ll like it
,
I enjoyed reading this story. Just when I thought I knew who did it… I was wrong. Kept me reading until book was finished
A few (like 10) spelling and/or grammatical errors, but the storyline was such that I was able to overlook those. Wish I had read the first book first, though (didn’t realize it at the time). Would have explained the relationship between London and Dawn a bit better, I think. But it didn’t detract from the overall enjoyment of the book.
This is a “sniper” book, the hero is a (police) sniper, the supporting characters are snipers, the bad guy is a bad sniper, the plot turns on the bad guys failure as a sniper, etc. etc. etc. I read it because it was set in Louisiana, but the setting didn’t really play into the story.
Great read!!
Really enjoy this author’s work. This was no exception.
I will read anything by this author. He is really good.
