“A captivating new series packed full of emotions, and a strong family bond.” NYT & USA Today Bestselling Author Kaylee Ryan.Former soldier Logan Bridges never imagined he would go from serving his country to helping raise a house full of children after a devastating family loss.Dealing with his rowdy siblings and cousins proves to be almost as treacherous as the battlefields he left behind. … battlefields he left behind. And though he’s committed to making it work, he soon finds he’s in over his head.
Until someone from Logan’s past, steps in to help.
Mollie has always been independent, but finds herself growing attached to the family, including Logan, and discovering there’s more to life than working and solitude.
Logan and Mollie quickly form a strong bond, and when attraction brings them closer, they agree getting involved wouldn’t be good for the children. But when they both struggle to keep the blurry line of friendship between them, Mollie won’t take that step unless Logan can open up and face his painful past.

This book delivers an avalanche of heart tugging feels. Logan and Mollie’s story is a slow-burning and heart aching tale of tragedy, loss, grief, friendship, poignancy, strength and love. I found it very easy to let Mollie and Logan into my heart and to only want the best for them. Quite simply, they were just good people. I thought Mollie had a beautiful soul and Logan was a battle scarred hero and a genuine good guy. In all, I felt that this was a really good read and I look forward to reading future books from this series.
This is the 1st book in a new series from this author and is Logan and Mollie’s story. This is a well written story which is a slow burn love story, and filled with heartbreak, loss, grief, a tad family drama and love. I look forward to reading more from this talented author, and highly recommend for all.
This was beautifully written and very emotional story with strong willed characters that will capture your complete attention.
Logan struggles of PTSD and now he’s home to hold the family together and along with Molly who has the biggest heart and caring these two try to work together to accomplish some normal.
This really pulls out all the emotion and I really enjoyed it.
Now this story was a little lighter than I’m used to. That being said I really enjoyed this book.
When tragedy strikes. Logan is an ex veteran, returns home to help his family…..Which is not an easy task.
They’re all struggling, when Molly, a nurse and old friend of Logan’s, steps in to help.
Can Molly save Logan and his family?
This story really pulled at the heartstrings. Look forward to reading more by this author
4*
Logan feels responsible for helping his family after his step mum & aunt died. He’s recently returned after his injury in the army not remembering the event fully.
Mollie is the nurse in charge when belle his cousin is hurt she gives him a warning.
I loved how the characters came together the emotions the true feelings a family suffering from this would experience.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Great story
This was a new to me author and one I would be interested trying more from.
Going into the book I wasn’t sure what to expect and to be honest I might not of picked it up if I had known how slow paced/non drama ridden it was compared to what the blurb hinted at.
In saying that you couldn’t help be drawn by the kids.
If you love family drama slow burn love stories this is the book for you!
I did appreciate the little twists thrown in
This is the first book in the Bridges Brothers series and is based on the second oldest brother, Logan Bridges. He is an upstanding guy who is trying his hardest to hold his grieving family together. His previous military trauma is another battle he experiences yet he tries not to allow it to take over his life. I really liked his attitude to his family and his compassion as well.
Mollie Fisher is the other lead character and her inner strength and determination are admirable, too. She has a confidence that makes you sit up and take notice yet a vulnerability too. Together Logan and Molly make a great couple. They have an easy going manner with each other and their fun banter brings a smile to your face.
Molly’s neighbour, Lou, little Belle and Gramps, or Bud, need a special mention too as they are such fun characters. Belle is quietly manipulative but not in a bad way, actually Lou is too but hers is more obvious. Belle is absolutely adorable and very intuitive as well, such a wonderful character. Lou shakes things up for Molly and I think it’s good too. Gramps is just plain cool!
There are underlying issues with Logan from the war, which he was reluctant to work through, understandably too. However the most poignant thing about this book is the love and support for family. Yes, there is a sweet romance, but it is thinking of others first, trying to help where you can and dropping everything to be there for them that fills your heart with love throughout the story.
A sweet story showing the struggles of a family trying to put everything back together when life falls apart. Logan has his own demons from his former life as a marine and Mollie, she has her own secrets. It’s way more of an emotional story then I expected and I loved it.
One tragedy destroyed two families. Logan comes home to try to keep the families together. Logan is a war veteran with demons of his own. Molly is the nurse who who tries to help out. Building Bridges will pull on your heartstrings from the very beginning. It’s very emotional with a few unexpected moments. Will Molly be the one to save Logan? I really enjoyed this story and I look forward to reading the series.
Review copy was received for a honest opinion.
“Building Bridges” by Lia Fairchild is an incredibly sweet read. In it we meet the Bridges family. A multigenerational group that has faced its share of lose and suffering. After the tragic death of two of its matriarchs, ex veteran and amputee Logan returns home to take care of his family.
Logan is beautifully damaged and closed off, a self proclaimed ‘manny’ he is struggling to deal with his past, present and future.
Mollie is beautifully unique, a self proclaimed loner. As a nurse, she has seen her fair share of pain and suffering and has a nurturing heart.
When Logan and Mollie’s path collide during an emergency room visit the sparks fly. Although they’ve known each other since high school, the two share another connection that will come as a surprise when you least expect it. Unable to fight their attraction to one another Logan and Mollie take a giant leap of faith and get together.
Their journey to their much deserved happily ever after is not easy, but it is sweet and you root for them from beginning to end. A great read, I look forward to reading the rest of The Bridges Brothers series. (I read an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.)
I felt like I was picked up by a tornado but came out better then I went in! Debra @ Janise’s Jivin’ Book Blog
Building Bridges is a story filled with surprises and awe moments. The Bridges family is a family that could use some good, happy moments and Mollie brings some of those to them after an incident with the youngest of the family.
Logan and Mollie share a past and come together to help his family and in so doing get closer but as friends. Or at least that is what they try to only be. Their chemistry though leads them to thinking maybe they could have more.
This book brought me to tears in several places and made me want to hug my family tight. What you see from the outside is not always exactly a clear view, take the time to look deeper and wipe away the fog of a moment.
Beautiful and heart filling as well as tragic. What a read!
