Loved Love Loved this series. Pam Godwin had me wanting to give up city life and find myself a cowboy 🙂
Another hot cowboy to add to the list.
Wow what a book. It was so good I ‘ve been really looking forward to this since Jake’s book. Jarret is a great character he is a lil intense but super hot. He has been through a the past. His brother Jake and him have had to make some really hard decisions in there lives. They have also done and seen bad stuff to. It was never part of there plans to turn into the people they are today but they had to do what they had to do to protect each other and the two people that are like there family Conor and Lorne. Jarret is a very strong alpha guy he knows what he wants and gets its. No one will stand in his way when he has set his sites on something. Once his eyes lock on Maybe Quinn he knows he’s done for. Even if she is hiding things he needs to have her.
Maybe is a quiet girl and totally different to Jarret. She has heard a few things about them and knows she is a bout to get herself in a sticky situation but she needs answers and Jarret and his brother are the guys to go through. Even though she is quiet she is a strong minded woman and knows what she wants and doesn’t give us when things get in the way. She knew it was goin to be hard getting answers from Jarret she just didn’t think she would end up falling in love with the hot sexy cowboy.
I really enjoyed this book. I thought the first book was brilliant but this was just as good. I liked that the story followed on after what had happened in the first book. So I would recommend that you read the first book before this one. You won’t be disappointed it’s such a great book. Again like the last book this story was heart breaking Maybe goes through a lot dealing with so much rejection she starts to feel she may be better on her own. There are a lot of secrets they both have to tell each and there not easy ones. I really liked Maybe and Jarret’s characters they fit so well together. It’s hard not to fall for Jarret he is super hot and Maybe is so sweet. It was also great to get more from Jake and Conor. I m really really looking forward to Lorne’s book after the way this book ended. It wasn’t a bad cliffy so don’t worry it just make you want to know more about certain situations. I would highly recommend this book and author I luv luv them both.
4.5 “electric” stars.
This is a series of stand alones but they need to be read in order or spoilers happen.
I knew Jarrett’s story would be my favorite between Jared and Jarrett and man, oh man, he did not disappoint!
Maybe Quinn blows into town looking for answers under the guise of a reporter. Jarrett takes notice immediately and the push and pull begins. Maybe has questions, Jarrett has answers but without trust they’re getting nowhere. They work out a deal, Maybe will work on the ranch during the day and work under Jarrett at night 🙂 At least that’s what Jarrett wants. Maybe’s been hurt before and she knows Jarrett’s love em and leave em reputation so she’s fighting this every step of the way, regardless of how much she craves his sort of domination. Jarrett has never felt the way he feels for Maybe ever. He wants to protect her, care for her, get to know her and he’s determined to show her he is exactly what she needs. Their chemistry is electric (and holy moly that electrical storm scene, SOOOOO HOT!) and they both are falling hard and in too deep with secrets still between them. Maybe is a stubborn and independent woman and she’s determined to do the right thing this time even if it hurts the most.
I loved these characters together and enjoyed their story. I’m not always a huge fan of the alpha male storyline but this one really worked for me. The physical aspect was a big part of this but it wasn’t the focus of the story; their relationship and building trust was more of the focus and I appreciated that as a reader. Really enjoyed it and I look forward to Lorne’s story and hopefully getting some answers about Raina!
This second book in the Trails of Sin series is Jarret and Maybe’s story with more secrets exposed from the first book. Hooked from the first chapter, Pam delivers a sexy, angst filled, hold on to your hat goodness.
Five stars for this story and if I could give more I would. I fell In love with the first book through Jake and Connor. All I can saw is Wow on the first book. Know Jarret and Maybe were more of love to be found. The way they went at each other and eventually loved each other make you believe in something. Every chapter just draws you in like you wouldn’t believe, and you don’t realize how long you’ve been reading until you finish the book. This book leaves you on the edge of your seat waiting for whatever smart-ass comment would come out of Maybe mouth and if Jarret would put her over his knees. I just love the scene she wrote when it was their first time together. That would of be funny to see to naked people running around a pasture in the rain trying to catch each other hearts. Jarret is alpha all the way, but not too macho that he loses his feelings and sensitivity. Not to mention he seems to know his way around his lady’s body and when to let his woman have some space. I don’t want to give anymore away of the story because it is a must read. This series you want to pick up and start. Pam Is a great writer and I will enjoy more of her books.
I honestly didn’t think this series could get any better but I was so wrong. This book was very, very hard to put down. This book had the perfect amount of drama and love. So Jarret and Maybe may have started out badly but they soon worked out their issues. It took a little for the trust to happen but its all about baby steps. Jarret brings out the best in Maybe. Makes her see and experience things she never would have. They complete each other perfectly. Yes there were some issues but Maybe had good reason to be snooping around. I must say the twist in this book, I never saw it coming but it was needed. It made them come out of their happy bubble and make some tough decisions. Made them question certain things and put things into perspective for them. Made them realize that love conquers all. This is not boy meets girl. they fall madly in love and live happily ever after. These two have to fight their demons and past to have a future with each other.
I really liked Maybe. Yes she told a fib but once she realized how amazing this group was, she opened up and told the truth. She had fight in her and proved to everyone she could hang with the big dogs. Jarret and Jake show their power in this one and prove to everyone they can handle anything that is thrown at them. Jarret does things a certain way and while Maybe wasn’t on board at first, she soon found herself loving it. This book was so so good and I can’t wait to read Lorne’s book next!! Very well written story.
I was never really a fan of cowboy romances until now. This author has the incredible skill of delivering flawless writing and creating characters that are likable, relatable and real!!
This is Jarret and Maybe’s story, and what a story it is!!
Jarrett is protecting what’s his and Maybe is seeking answers their meeting was combustible.
Their insta love and hot passionate story was hard to put down as they each gave as good as they got. Their chemistry was combustible sharp and on point. Their banter sometimes hilarious.
But make no mistake this dark, and gritty, installment in The Trails of Sin series is sinfully delicious and leaving hungry for more!
I cannot wait for Lorne’s story!!
Oh this book! I loved it so much. This is the second book in the series and it’s Jarret’s story. Maybe and Jarret had wonderful chemistry. I loved them together and their sex scenes were HOT! Jarret was alpha but also so sweet. This book will give you all of the feels, with a little bit of mystery in it.
This is the story of Maybe and Jarret. I really loved this book. I was curious about Jarret in the first book. I love him more than his brother and that’s saying something. Jarret is the kind of man who fights for what’s his. He became what was necessary to protect his family. He’s rough around the edges but a marshmallow at heart. Maybe is looking for answers and she agrees to an unusual agreement with Jarett. The problem is that she’s falling for him and falling fast. These two have a connection most people yearn for and they found that in the cracks of the other. While I LOVED this book. I loved it more because of Jarret. He’s a fighter but he knows when to give her space. He gave her up for over a year just so he can heal. He was selfless and put her needs first. Even while it was slowly and painfully killing him on the inside. I loved his persistence and how hard he loved. This book ends in an HEA. It’s beautifully written and full with second chances and healing.
BOOK REVIEW
Title: Buckled (Trails of Sin #2) by Pam Godwin
Rating: 4.5 STARS

_______________________________________________________
It took me a while to review this book, hell, the author’s and publisher’s probably hate me for leaving it this long to review. My only excuse? I wasn’t in the right headspace for this book. I knew that if I wasn’t in the right headspace, I wouldn’t be able to give this book the proper attention it needed. I don’t know why it took me this long because I absolutely loved the first book and the continuing story behind it. There are so many aspects to this book, cowboys, revenge pacts, stupidly hot sex, violence, drama & so much mystery. My favorite is the friendship and loyalty between the main characters.
This is Jarret’s story, twin brother to Jake and Conor’s best friend. I was intrigued to see who his love interest was and how they would compliment each other. It was a surprise to find out it was Maybe because they were so completely different, I wouldn’t have even thought them, friends if I saw them on the street. Watching the tension build between them was torture, each word turning the heat up and making them fall for each other when there was an underlying secret being kept.
I loved that I thought that this would be a predictable story, cowboy player falls in love with a sassy girl who’s desperate to fight any attraction and when they finally got together, I thought that’d be the end. But by God, the twists kept coming, and I didn’t know which way was up. It was exhausting and so damn assaulting on the mind, I couldn’t believe what was going on. And that’s the beauty of this author’s work, that while there might be a sense of predictability, there is also that element of surprise that will come out of nowhere and keep you coming back for more. I definitely recommend this series, but you have to read from book one to completely understand the story. While it’s a different couple every book, the story starts from the first book. I also recommend any book by this particular author, because her words, while they might be similar to other authors, the effect it has on you after will leave you changed.
UTTERLY ENTHRALLING!!!
Title: Buckled
Series: Trails of Sin
Author: Pam Godwin
Designation: Book 2 of Series, Full-Length,*Can Be Read Standalone(but books are interconnected), NO Cliffhanger, #dark #enemiesto lovers #contemporary #western #cowboys #familysaga
My Rating: Five Deliciously Heartwrenching, Kindle-Throwing Stars*****
*Although Buckled can be read as a standalone, this reviewer recommends reading the books of the series sequentially to avoid spoilers.
Wow – AGAIN! I loved, loved, loved Buckled! I read Knotted, the first release in the Trail of Sins Series, a few days ago, which coincidentally was also my first time reading the work of Pam Godwin, and loved it so much that I raced back to purchase the second book Buckled, and it’s official – I’m a fan for life! Pam Godwin is definitely no one-hit-wonder! This woman can write. In my almost 70 years on this earth, I’ve never had such a visceral reaction to a story and its characters as I did with both Knotted and Buckled. I was a total wreck after reading Knotted and still a total wreck after finishing Buckled, having experienced all the same emotions while reading both books – amusement, anger, confusion, apprehension, surprise, shock, anxiety, frustration, sadness, heartache – and that was through the entire story. Several times I almost threw my Kindle against the wall! I snickered, snorted, chuckled, sniffled, sobbed, and fumed through the entire story, and I loved every single second! I actually wanted to strangle Jarrett Holsten, the male protagonist of this compelling drama, and I’m not even a violent person. Unlike his twin brother Jake, 24-year-old Jarrett had never been in love nor had a serious relationship. He was more of a ladies man. You know, the ‘hit it and quit it’ type of guy, the kind who’s always had women falling over themselves for a chance to catch his eye, but Jarrett used them for only one reason – sex. No strings, no promises, no sleepovers and never, ever in his home or bed… Until Maybe Quinn. He never thought he’d find a woman who could hold his interest for more than a few hours, much less one he could love. That’s a whole lot of nevers for one person, but you know what they say, never say never. So get ready, folks, Jarrett Holsten is about to meet his match, the one woman who will capture his attention along with his heart and bring this sexy, charming, loyal, and sinfully dominant cowboy to his knees. Now, that I’ve told you how much I enjoyed Buckled, let me tell you why.
Buckled is a riveting, fast-paced, easy to follow, exceptionally well crafted, full length, standalone, contemporary cowboy enemies to lovers trope filled to the brim with pulse-pounding danger, heart-wrenching drama, spine-tingling suspense, agonizing angst, steamy passion, and dreamy romance. The narrative is beautifully written in the first person with clearly defined his and her perspectives. The dialogue is smart, snappy, gritty, emotional, well executed, and flows effortlessly. But my favorite component of this moving tale is the cast of intriguing characters, many of whom were introduced in the first book of the series, and this is where Pam Godwin truly shines. Don’t get me wrong, I love the interconnected world and conflict for this entire series. They’re both not only compelling but also frighteningly realistic. I’ve been reading a long time and can usually tell before finishing the first chapter whether a book is plot or character driven, and normally it’s one or the other, one component being the strongest driving force for the story, but not with Knotted or Buckled. Each element was well presented, skillfully developed, and equally strong in both books. After reading only the first few pages, it was immediately apparent that Godwin is not only a gifted storyteller and skilled wordslinger, but also a master of her trade who possesses the unique ability to make her words flow effortlessly with a relaxing, almost poetic quality. Her sultry, sensual prose was nothing short of mesmerizing, but it’s her cast of instantly engaging, easily relatable characters that truly captured my heart. They literally exploded from the pages, ensnared my imagination, and held me prisoner from the first page till the last. I was immediately smitten with the male protagonist, cowboy/cattle rancher Jarrett Holsten. If you’ve read the first book and thought Jarrett’s twin brother Jake Holsten was an alpha Badboy, then you ain’t seen nothing yet! Truth be told, I fell in love with Jarrett when he was introduced in the first book. He actually seemed like the more mature, responsible brother, but Jarrett quickly eliminated all my preconceived assumptions in the first few chapters of Buckled. He was devilishly charming and toe-curlingly sexy, definitely a real heartbreaker with a fabulously filthy mouth and deliciously dirty mind to match, but Jarrett had another side he never allowed anyone other than his family to see. His love, loyalty, and devotion to those he considered friends and family quickly won me over. It’s an amazing experience to witness a character’s transformation when he or she finds their soulmate, and that’s exactly what 26-year-old Maybelline Quinn, aka Maybe, turned out to be for Jarrett Holsten. Godwin did a remarkable job of showing the growth of these two characters over the progression of the story, both personally and as a couple. And what do I even say about the beautiful, brave, determined, feisty, and often quite smart-mouthed Maybe Quinn, currently a freelance journalist? Maybe was intelligent, playful, spunky, fiercely independent, and strong with a backbone of steel and, as it turns out, not a half bad cowgirl. But she was also a young woman who had unwisely given her trust to the wrong people in the past and as a result lost everything, including her self-esteem. Unfortunately, as we all know, love is blind, but Maybe was determined to never repeat her past mistakes, even if that meant never allowing herself to love again. These two characters started out as adversaries, both with dangerous secrets, but the spark between them was glaringly obvious in their first meeting and believe me, sparks did fly. Each encounter became more intense and more sexually charged, until this unlikely relationship between two potential enemies exploded into a fiery blaze of undeniable passion and sensuality which came as more of a shock to Jarrett and Maybe than the people around them. This new unexpected depth of emotion was new to both Jarrett and Maybe. At first, neither seemed to know what to do about their undeniable attraction and combustible chemistry, and it was so much fun watching them try to run from the inevitable. I couldn’t wait to see who would blink first. Lol… But their fate was written in the stars and so was their love. We all know the heart wants what the heart wants, and when Jarrett Holsten realized he wanted Maybe Quinn forever, nothing would stop him from having her. Maybe was his! And I’m quoting Jarrett! Sigh… So dreamy! Godwin literally ripped my heart out – again – with Jarrett and Maybe’s difficult journey to find happiness and kept me on the edge of my seat, wondering and waiting to see what the future would hold for them. Through the entire book, I kept thinking Jarrett and Maybe could never overcome the horrible secrets and obstacles in their path and certain Godwin would never be able to give this couple the happy ending they deserved, but she did and did it exceptionally well. An unexpected plot twist here, a shocking revelation there, a few painful secrets confessed, long overdue truths revealed, and voila! And it was all done perfectly! No spoilers from me but I will say this… A beautiful down on her luck young journalist determined to uncover the truth, no matter what it takes- check! An hardworking cowboy who has all the answers but would do anything to guard his family’s dark secrets and protect the people he loves, including a beautiful journalist with the power to destroy him – check! An adorable pet calf named Chicken – check! A old enemy with a hidden agenda – check! Danger, drama, lies, deceit, heartache, suspense, and a few unexpected plot twists – check! Heated attraction, steamy passion, and a love that refuses to be denied – you bet! That and a whole lot more!
So, did I like this book? I think you already know the answer but just for clarification, I loved it! Would I recommend it? You bet, and I am but only for adult readers. Buckled does contain explicit language, sex, and violence. It’s also a dark romance with a violent theme and not for the meek of heart. But what lies at the heart of Buckled is a heartachingly beautiful story, heralding a love so strong, it conquers all. Sigh… So dreamy! Buckled is the second release in the Trails of Sin Series. It’s my understanding that each book will be a standalone (but interconnected) and will feature one couple finding their happy ending. Although this book can be read as a standalone, this reviewer recommends reading the books sequentially to avoid spoilers. Will I read this author again? Absolutely! Just as soon as she releases her next book. I think the best compliment I can give an author, as well as the best testament to their work, is to read more of their books, and I was so impressed with Knotted and Buckled, I raced back to preorder Booted, the third book of the series featuring Conor’s older brother Loren Cassidy, which is due to release September 18, 2018. And finally, was I entertained? Completely! Once I started reading, I could not stop. I was on the edge of my seat, white knuckling my ereader, my heart fluttering wildly in my chest as the pages flew as quickly as the time! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!
The past just doesn’t want to stay in the past for Julep Ranch and it’s owners.
When things are just starting to quiet down for Jake,Jarret and Conor up pops
Maybelline (Maybe) Quinn.
She’s armed with a list of names and she’s determined to figureout what happened to them.
Jarret is just as determined for her not to find out.
When Maybe and Jarret reach an arrangement between them both their lives about to change dramatically.
I adored Maybe.
She is a fighter.
She stands her ground.
She stays true to herself.
Jarret I loved since getting to see bits of him from Knotted.
He’s loyal.
He’s a protector.
He’s fierce.
Maybe and Jarret together are combustible!
They both give as good as they get.
They are both people who don’t give up.
And they both live with their whole heart.
The chemistry between them can be felt coming through so vividly it gave me goosebumps.
Ms. Godwin deliverers an exceptional story in Buckled.
Her writing had me devouring each word.
It had me feeling the emotions.
It had me living what the characters are going through.
That’s how vivid this authors writing is!
One of the greatest scenes in the book and probably one of the best I’ve come across yet is the
summer storm scene!
Omg The St. Elmo’s Fire part was brilliant!
The way it’s described and the things that are happening around Jarret and Maybe had me on the edge of my seat.
I could actually hear and see the thunder and the lightning.
I got actually feel the tension and excitement brewing through the characters!
Omg what a scene!
If you have never read a book by this author you are truly missing out.
She’s ONE OF THE BEST authors I’ve come across that has a phenomenal way with words and of being them to life!
Sizzling, Swoony and Satisfying!!!
Buckled is one hot, electrifying, and kinky romance! If you love a relationship centered book with some insta-lust, a slow satisfying burn, and a side of kink, this story is gonna blow your socks off. I myself, usually prefer a bit more intricate plot line but none the less, I was totally drawn into Jarrett and Maybe’s relationship and the culmination took my breath away. I couldn’t help but swoon at Jarrets protectiveness and total dedication to Maybe. Their relationship was built on a mountain of secrets. Secrets they were both aware the other was keeping but that didn’t stop the chemistry and the emotions from building between them. This is a story of holding on to what your heart wants despite the obstacles the past has thrown in the way.
Pam has such a talent for breaking open bad boys and making me love them despite, or maybe because of, all their flaws. I never feel the need to see them be fixed or their jagged edges smoothed over. I love them just as they are. Despite some minor issues I had with this story (extended time line and intricacy of plot), I was 100% invested and completely in love with these characters and their relationship.
And that thunderstorm scene….GAH!…..has to be one of the most intense, sizzling, and absolutely electrifying moments I have ever read!!! I will never experience a thunderstorm without think of this book again. The whole book is really well done but this scene alone is worth every cent of the price tag.
Buckled..all I can say is WOW! I fell in love with Jake in Knotted, but oh my goodness I have fallen hard for his twin brother Jarret. I honestly could not put down this book.
Jarret is the mans man of cowboys, he’s hard working, sweet, and down right sexy. Seeing him over come his past of women and feeling something for the first time and reading his journey of finding love and keeping it, it makes your heart swoon.
Maybe, her name alone makes her unique. She is a broken girl who looking for answers to a lot of questions, and when he meet Jarret, you think at first she is just trying to stir trouble, but as the story goes on you realize she is just trying to find herself and find someone who wants her, all of her. She is a mystery and as you read the story, you start to unravel her.
This was a page turner, I was hooked from the moment I started reading and I’m even more excited to read the conclusion to this wonderful and am amazing trio of books! Pam Godwin is a amazing story teller, and you feel like you are the characters, and you can feel what they are going through. I’ve been a fan for a while and I can’t wait to read more from her in the future.
Dark and sinful with story that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to finish, Buckled was one addicting ride!
Ever since Maybe and Jarret first met in Knotted, sparks flew, and I was instantly hooked. I couldn’t wait for their book. I knew it was going to be good, but I didn’t expect it to be as good as it was. I devoured this story in one sitting. It kept me squirming on the edge of my seat, starved for each new revelation and totally captivated by the story. It was this magnetic combination of mysterious and kinky with a dark edge that Pam Godwin is oh so good at weaving into her writing.
“There’s attraction. There’s sexual desire. Then there’s this. It’s curiosity and gravity and some kind of illogical magnetism that makes my heart beat with the impulse to claim and possess.
I love a good enemies to lovers trope, and this one delivered it in spades. The hate lust was strong with these two and their chemistry was electrifying. Maybe is probably one of my favorite heroines this author has written. She’s strong, sharp witted and has no problem giving as good as she gets. This is a woman that’s not afraid to stand up for herself, yet she also has this hidden vulnerable side to her that seems to come out in Jarret’s presence. She was an incredibly multi-layered character that I couldn’t get enough of. And did I mention the sass?
“Where are you taking me?”
“To my office.”
“I can walk there on my own. Put me down.”
“No can do, sweetheart.”
“This is bullshit.”
“What you’re smelling is horse shit. The bulls are in the west pasture.”
She makes a frustrated sound in her throat. “How the fuck are you the sperm that won?”
“I can explain it to you, but I can’t understand it for you.”
“I really wish I had more middle fingers right now.”
Jarret delivered on the kinky cowboy promise that I was hoping for in book one. This man has a presence to him, let me tell you. He’s downright sinful. And when he sets his eyes on Maybe, he’s determined to get her beneath him even when they both know she’s hiding something for him.
Maybe comes to their ranch in search of answers. She knows about the dark past and secrets that the Holsten family has hidden and she’s convinced it somehow ties into her own. She’s determined to get to the bottom of it no matter what she has to do, but she doesn’t expect the magnetic connection she feels with Jarret or for it to suck her into his orbit as much as it does.
“He’s a torrent of brutal force and sensual precision, fluctuating between violent bites and gentle kisses, rough hands and expert caresses. His passion is explosive, his touches methodical. Nothing about him is tame.
There are a lot of secrets that get unraveled here. And while we get answers to some things, we’re also left with even more questions. The blood feud between father and sons and the secrets that they have buried are all coming to a head and it’s bound to be on hell of a conclusion.
I absolutely LOVED the chemistry and banter between Jarret and Maybe. Their relationship was a sizzling slow burn full of spark and erotic undercurrents. When these two finally give into the pull between them? Holy hell! This book had one of the hottest sex scenes I have ever read. I have two words for you: rain and lightning. HOT. DAMN.
“All I can do is hold on, shredding my vocal chords as I scream. I scream his name. I scream for a god. Maybe they’re one and the same. He looks like a warrior god. He fucks like a sex god. I’ll happily worship him, and I do.
We also finally get to meet the heroine of book 3 and let me just tell you, I’m practically salivating for that story.
While I enjoyed the first book, I was completely blown away by this one. I cannot wait to see how it all concludes in what’s bound to be an explosive final chapter of this trilogy.
DEFINITELY A PAGE TURNER!!! Smokin hot, sensual, and uninhibitedly delicious! And that’s just the passion between Jarret and Maybe! The story line is incredible! Just like the first book. I can’t wait to read the next one in this series. I’ve already pre-ordered it.
Thank you Pam Goodwin for an exquisite read!
Welcome Back to Julep Ranch. Here 4 young friends grew up, fell in love, struck eternal friendship bonds and they still hold those ties sacred, come what may. And Pam throws a a LOT their way.
The mood is reminiscent and rebuilding. It’s a “lying-in-wait” kind of vibe you can feel.
Pam has a gift. She can shove a fist in your rib cage and squeeze your heart tight. She can make you FEEL! She can make you fall in love with bad boys, make you root for them, make you cry with them and then make you smile too. Her stories stay with you ALWAYS. Nobody writes angst and desperate love like Pam.
Buckled is following KNOTTED, the story that introduced us Jake & Jarrett Holston, Connor & Lorne and their Blood Vow. The circumstances leading up to the vow were dreadful and life-shattering, to say the least. Though Jake & Conor are limping back to normal, Lorne is being missed, and Jarrett is still a third wheel. The boys are working hardest to restore their Julep Ranch, troublesome situations are being dealt with, threats are being removed but still it’s a long way to go before happiness and prosperity returns for good in the grief stricken & devastated Ranch. She made my heart cry tears of blood in KNOTTED, the despair and bereavement still continues , a tad diluted though.
Maybe Quinn visits the Julep Ranch . Her motives are ambiguous, her movements suspect. She’s on a truth finding mission, which puts her on a collision path with Jarrett. Sluething on naive Maybe’s part is embarassing and hilarious . Hearts collide, beat and get tangled together. The story floats on air from here. Their lust pink cloud getting rosier and fluffier and I, as a reader, am on a high just watching them explore each other, body and soul.
He shackled my heart with his, and I wish he would lose the key to that lock. The steady beat of his love against mine empowers me, strengthens me, makes me believe that as long as we’re together, it’s enough. We’re enough.
The thunderstorm scene was explosive, orgasmic and euphoric. I still am getting goosebumps picturing it. So powerful in love, so intense in passion, so perplexing in dejection , this story will echo and resonate in your heart. The music will bounce off of your walls, will drown you , yet won’t let you drown
Cold drops, sultry air , and the distant rumble of thunder— there’s something celestial about kissing this man in the rain. It’s a frenzied moment that refuses to wait. An outpour of love desperate for connection, uncaring about soaked clothes or chilled skin. It’s a rebellion against threatening winds and depressing conditions. Nature brings the rain, but we stand against it, united in mutual need.
I felt overwhelming, staggering sentiments. I loved and fell in love, hurt and was ready to hurt, was destroyed and ready to kill, I was rescued and was ready to live happily ever after.
I still have a long way to go with these characters. I’m definitely sure next book will be explosive & provide the closure so badly needed .
#WritePamWrite, I’m on pins & needles up til then.
5 “Chicken” stars
This is the second book in the Trails of Sin series, book one is a must read. Conor and Jake’s book was heartbreakingly beautiful, raw and intense. Maybe and Jarret’s book is a slow burn, with an air of mystery as to who this beautiful woman is that can tame the rowdy cowboy. I love how attentive and caring Jarret is deep down inside. Maybe is a strong female lead, always fearless and up for a challenge. Pam Godwin never disappoints, her writing is flawless and beautiful. I can’t wait for the next book.
OMG! Jarrett is so damn intense. Buckled is not as heavy as Knotted, but is intense all the same. If you loved Jake, Jarrett is on a whole new level. I fell in love with him right away. This is all rugged, hardcore romance. Jarrett loves hard and never lets go. It was great getting to see the kind of man he is and how it contrasts with Jake’s personality.
Jarrett doesn’t communicate with words. He speaks with his body, his eyes, and conveys more feeling than anyone I know without muttering a word. He is hardworking as you get to blissfully see him work on the ranch with Maybe and see all the things he, Conor, and Jake do on a daily basis. I loved how Maybe got to know them all and see the kind of people they were and close of family they were. It was great seeing that from an outsiders point of view. Jarrett doesn’t hold back or toe around what he wants. He goes after it and he wants Maybe. Even while he’s confused about what he’s doing and the fact that she’s hiding things, it doesn’t stop him from falling in love with Maybe. And boy is Jarrett a very kinky man. It was so thrilling seeing him in his element; taking control and giving Maybe pleasure unlike anything shes ever known.
I’m not going to lie I for some reason didn’t like Maybe all that much. There are some nice things about her, but my mind was made up real early. She is overly headstrong and a little too “I’m an independant woman.” But she was strong in her convictions and beliefs. I liked her undeniable attraction to Jarrett and how easily he could read her at times. It was rewarding for to see what great people Jake, Jarrett, and Conor were even though she called the criminals throughout the whole book. It was seeing how she became a part of their family as she worked on the farm and felt that sense of belonging. The love Jarrett felt for her was overwhelming. I do think towards the end she made some bad decisions that made me want to smack her, but I get what the author was doing.
I really loved this book. You really get to see what a great family Jake, Jarrett, Conor, and even Lorne are. Life on the ranch is bittersweet that consists of a lot of hard work and the end of the night they all sit together on the porch and belt out music together. I love every moment of it. I have to say I loved Jarrett’s intensity and how hard he loves. He never gave up on Maybe after every secret comes to light. That ending was so amazing and I can’t wait for Lorne’s book.
There is a reason why Pam Godwin is an absolute must read author for me, and THIS IS IT! So so so so so good! Her words are addictive, sensual, and over the top perfection! This story is different, dark, dirty, and oh so good. I loved the characters! Maybe and Jarret completely won me over and I didn’t think anyone could take away from Jake and Conor. EVER.
Although this is a different couple you need to read in order. Trying not to spoil anything from book one will leave this review short and sweet for me. READ THE DAMN BOOKS! If you’re wanting angst, dark story, and a whole lot of steam then you’ve got it here in spades. Pam is amazing and I’m ready for book three ASAP!!
