When a reality show comes knocking, you take their offer. That’s exactly what we did, and now our cattle ranch has become a dude ranch. But the producers want more from me than to teach these city slickers how to saddle up. They want me to play the part of Romeo in an on-screen romance. Until I tell them I’m engaged.Too bad that’s a bold-faced lie.Now I have to find a willing participant in my … participant in my charade for the next twelve weeks and my friend has the perfect solution. She’s gorgeous, smart, and sexy as sin—and she’s agreed to fake our engagement, for a price.
If making it look real is as fun as I think it’ll be, I’m in trouble. Because this woman might be the one who tames my wild side.

Buck and Penny start a fake relationship to keep the realty show flowing. The characters are well developed and engaging and the chemistry is strong. The storyline was a trip and I had a great time turning the pages.

A very easy sweet summer read with characters that have a good connection. One thing I like about this book is the numerous secondary characters that help move the story along and then how the autor is able to describe a scene so you can really picture it.
I liked this story about Buck and Penny and that this is a second chance romance and a fake engagement. I liked both Buck and Penny and their engagement starts because Buck doesn’t want to do a love interest because of the reality show it grows into their happily ever after.

New to this author but will definitely be reading more of their books. I absolutely loved it! The characters and the story line were so well written that I was immersed before I knew it and then I just could not put it down. It got me hook, line and sinker. It covered every emotional available , of course, had a great HEA. Cannot recommend highly enough!

This book is an okay read. The story flows. The characters are good. This is a slow read. It took me a while to get through the book. I get that Buck is a good boyfriend and loves his family, but he had his faults. Penny also has her own faults.

Kim Loraine writes another fantastic book that leads you in such a book slump when you are done you consider rereading right away just to stay in her world. Penny and Buck are a little bit of a past meet present situation with a whole lot of a pretend engagement to appease the reality show that is being shot on Bucks ranch. Their chemistry is off the charts and you can’t help but root for them.
Buck and Penny shared their first kiss as teenagers and now that they are all grown up he needs a fake fiancée. I loved the slow burn of their relationship and it made me laugh when I found myself shaking my head wondering how can they not see how perfect they are together. Bucked Off is a fantastic read and I absolutely loved it. The writing is great, the characters are lovable and the story is filled with humor, drama, steam and an ending that left me wanting more.
This book was amazing! I have found another author that I will be adding to my favorites.
This could be read as a stand alone, but to know the reason why there is a reality show, you would need to read book one. I can’t wait to go look more books up by this author. Hopefully, Buck will make another appearance because he is what my imagination of men should be. Wow…

I liked the push and pull of these 2 characters in a fake engagement situation and on a reality show, no less. I don’t know if it was quite enemies to lovers, but you could cut the tension with a knife. The sexual tension was high…when the cameras were rolling. I loved the rustic scene and how it was slow burn.
Excellent story wonderful characters. Great chemistry. Small town warmth. I fell in love with this bunch all over again. I feel that Buck is much more developed during this story. We learn so much more about him than we do Penny. I love that Penny is so spunky. I love her drive. I adore Buck and his “sugar” and his protectiveness. I look forward to a story first Tristan and Sam and Sera, oh and Mama too.

what a wonderful story .. these two characters, Buck & Penny have a wonderful chemistry, they both know each other, but in their youth 1 stupid challenge kept them separate. now they have a new chance, but they are both headstrong to expose their feelings. I really enjoyed it, full of emotion and love. from me 5 stars

“Bucked Off” is book two in Kim Loraine’s Ryker Ranch series. Although the books in this series are stand-alones, the main storyline follows on through each book. To get the whole reason behind having the reality Tv show at the ranch, book one ‘Saddle Up’ needs to be read, it is also how Clint and Ever came to be. This book follows Buck Ryker and Penny Callahan.
Ok firstly I want to say I love Kim’s work, she is a brilliant contemporary and excellent paranormal writer, secondly who doesn’t love a good cowboy story, and lastly I love a good fake relationship to a real one.
I loved Buck, he was sexy, romantic, caring, sensitive, vulnerable, and all male. I felt that his character didn’t get to explore his full potential, I think we only got to see a glimpse into who Buck really is. The way he cared for his family and Penny was so beautiful, I actually felt jealous. I also felt that Penny didn’t seem like the right fit for him, although she did grow on me a bit. Penny just seemed to rub me the wrong way, I felt that she was too easily ticked off, she was a little b*tchy towards Buck. I know that both of them would keep their feelings close to their chest as they were afraid of being hurt, but Buck would give a few clues and comments about his feelings and Penny would dismiss them. Plus Penny was always so quick to jump to conclusions without talking to Buck about it, she would just assume she knew what they were talking about when she would overhear things and then run away. But in the end it all worked out.
When the Production company wants Buck to pretend to have a relationship with a contestant from the Reality Tv Show about to be filed on his Ranch. Buck thinks he needs to make himself unavailable just like his brother Clint, so he tells them he is engaged and unable to do it. But when they decide it’s best that they film a relationship instead, Buck must find himself a fake fiancé that is willing to live with him on the Ranch and pretend to be is Fiancé for three months.
After being pushed one to many times by her boss Penny quits her job, now jobless and potential being homeless, Penny needs to find a new job fast. When she runs into Buck her childhood crush, they make an agreement to help each other out. Penny will pretend to be Buck’s fake fiancé in exchange for somewhere to live and a job as a masseuse in the Ranch’s spa. But being in a fake relationship sometimes real feelings can get mixed up into it.
Wow…talk about a hot cowboy!! I loved this book. I’ve only read one other book by Kim but I’m definitely going to be changing that after this book. I’m always a sucker for a hot and good cowboy romance and Kim did not disappoint. Amazing!

Buck and Penny have one wild ride in this story. Come off the success from the first book, it’s Buck’s turn in the hot seat. It’s a second chance story filled with passion, past pain, tension, the life of family, and so much miscommunication I wanted to hit both Penny and Buck upside the head.
The story flows so well though that it’s hard to put down and I ended up staying up late just to finish.
There are some unfinished businesses we don’t get answers for but I’m hoping we get those in Tristan’s story.

The Ryker Ranch gets better and better as each siblings journey is introduced and Buck Ryker’s story does not disappoint. It was sweet and steamy just how I like my cowboy romance to be. He has great chemistry with Penny and when they are in close proximity the sparks heat up. I enjoyed their fake marriage which made for an entertaining HEA. Can’t wait for the next story in this must read romance!
Buck and Penny are two amazing characters that are brought together because of a show and with a past that connects.

Once again we are on the Ryker Ranch and the reality TV show is now up and running (see book 1 Saddle up) and the producers think a romance for Buck Ryker would be the perfect thing for their show
Buck and Penny grew up together and shared their first kiss and if they want to tell the truth they have never gotten over one another So when Buck tells the executives he can’t be the romeo on their show because he is already engaged and has to produce a fiance she is the first person he thinks of. Luckily Penny not only needs a job but also somewhere to live so she is willing to go along with him with a pretend engagement but living so close together means that old feelings will be dredged up and soon pretend isn’t what they are. Can they have a future together You will have to read to see
Loved this hot steamy romance with Buck and Penny. They first meet as teenagers when she worked one summer at his family ranch and he kissed her and she later the kiss was on a dare so she leaves with her heart broken. Years later his family ranch is struggling so his mother signs them up for a reality show and they want him to have a romance so he sees Penny in the local bar right after she quits her job and offers her a job at the ranch and to be his fake fiancee. All goes great until they both start having feelings that was unexpected. Loved this hot cowboy and feisty Penny.
This is book two in the Ryker’s Ranch Series. It can be read as a standalone but to get the full story of why there is a reality tv show on the ranch you really need to read the first book plus book one was a really good story. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the rest of the books in the series. The author is now on my must-read list. This book has an enjoyable storyline and is hot and steamy. It hit me in the feels and kept me turning pages. I honestly didn’t want to put it down to go to bed. I’ll admit I stayed up way later then I should have reading this book.
Buck and Penny have known each other since they were kids. They were each other’s first kiss, but feelings got hurt and Penny has avoided Buck for years. To keep from having to follow a scripted-on screen romance Buck tells producers of the show that he has a fiancé. Now Buck has to find someone to be his fake fiancé. Penny is in need of money and a job, so she agrees to help him out. How hard could it be to fake a romance with someone you can’t stand? They can keep feelings out of it right?
