From Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Lauren Landish comes a hard-riding romance of cowboys who run wild—and the women who tame them… summer off working his family’s ranch. That is, until a spirited and gorgeous veterinarian-in-training shows up and puts the cocky wild boy—and his ego—in place. Though she’s a feisty one, James is always up for a challenge.
Sophie Stone has to admit it: James Bennett is a checklist of cowboy hotness—ruggedly handsome with piercing blue eyes, a hard-muscled body, and just enough swagger to make her toes curl. She thought she was done with her bad-boy phase, but exceptions must be made.
How can Sophie possibly say no to a man who makes her heart buck like a bronco? And when their summer fling comes to an end, how can she possibly say goodbye?

This book was funny, sexy and heartwarming! Basically everything I like best in a romance. I love the story; it is just so full of heart and soul and all about the important things in life like family. I love James and Sophie! Can the agreement they make to have a summer fling really be enough for them?
I loved it!!
I loved this story. It was fun, sweet, steamy and romantic all rolled into one. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it certainly won’t be the last.
The plot was simple really with little drama and no angst but it worked!! James and Sophie were adorable. I can’t wait to read about Luke and Mark. Highly recommend!
Love it! There’s no drastic drama to rip your heart apart but a subtle dilemma about two people heading in different directions. There’s a spark when Sophie and James meet but is it enough to sustain a relationship or let it fizzle when their time seems to be up? Buck Wild was a great start to a new series and I can’t wait to read more! This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.
Great read from page one! James and Sophie have some serious sparks. They start out their meeting of one another by exchanging a few words. But James’ mama makes him apologize when his brothers rat him out. These two have such a steamy relationship that was meant to be casual. But fate had better plans, like forever. Great characters and story. Can’t wait for next book in this series!
This was such a good read. Take one sexy bull rider and add one sassy vet-in-training, add in some drama, steam, humor and emotional intensity and you end up with a book that fun and fantastic!! Sophie and James have amazing chemistry and I just loved them as a couple. A wonderful book and a awesome start to this new series. This is my voluntary and completely honest review.
ღ Sophie Stone , had her plan set in her mind to follow in her older brother’s footsteps.. But a Lil bump in the road had change the course in her life. She went from studying business to completing her bachelor’s degree in becoming Vet. She moved to small town (Great Falls) to do her interning with a local Vet for the summer
Sophie is use the big city & men there, so she didn’t bat eye when the 6”3 cowboy gave her attitude
James Bennett is the youngest of the three siblings… James came home to help out on the family farm after his dad passing
James’s father use to call him the ‘wild child” & for good reason, see James is 8 second man …he has working the rodeo circuit for years.. New city every weekend pretty much, so summer on the family farm was more of oviligation, until he meet the feisty sassy mouth assistant Vet
James & Sophie were adorable. This started off as just a summer fling, until what seem like Sophie getting too serious & James freaking out…
Is James dying for his escape to come sooner than expected in the fall? What will happen once the fall season is pond these two? Will they just walk away, or with they make it work somehow?
You can always find Lil dirty talking, some sassy strong females, sexy as heck males & steamy moments in one of Lauren Landish books
oh I don’t know which was funnier, the three siblings poking at each other or the fun loving flirting between Sophie & James.. Either way this is a good read
I can’t wait to read about Luke & Mark. Omg can’t forget about see more of Mama Louise.
Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion & my honest review
Paulette Review
I’ve learned going into a Lauren Landish book that I’m going to get hot and dirty but also sweet and swoony. Buck Wild is definitely those things and more! Now I’m not usually one for cowboys (what!? I know!) but I’ve had my mind changed with James. This romance between James and Sophie starts out as a summer fling, but slowly and deliciously turns into so much more. You are going to fall head over heels for the wild James! He’s hot, wild, sweet, and has such a big heart. He paired perfectly with the ever sweet and sassy Sophie. She’s not scared to get dirty and even though she grew up a city girl, country life is where she thrives. Sophie handles his crazy with her own and they make such a beautiful couple.
Lauren Landish does slow love like no other. These two get down and dirty, sure, but they also talk about real problems and dreams. They don’t shy away from life with each other and that makes their slow descent into love that much more awe-inspiring. I love their start as much as I loved their ending. All of the wonderful side characters we meet just add in the extra love for this book. I really hope to see more of these Bennett brothers.
LOVED IT! This book has so much heart! I’m not a huge fan of ‘cowboy’ romances, I’m more of a city girl myself, but even I wanted to be on horseback with the Bennett Boys. James was probably my least favorite (again, not a cowboy fan, so a bull rider? I couldn’t get into his mindset) but he was certainly a very sweet guy with a heart of gold and lots of respect for his Mama so that made up for his profession. Sophie, she’s probably up there in my top three heroines. I just loved her sass! I liked her when we met her in her brother Jake’s book, so I was super excited to see she got a well deserved HEA of her own. The dialogue was perfect, lots of witty banter between the two, Sophie was assertive in her desires, I loved that, she took what was hers and she owned that $#%+! Good for her, and good for this author for making such a strong self reliant character. And the steamy heat! I SO love me a dirty talker, and James is really talented at it. Looking forward to more from these guys, Luke may surprise me but I think Mark will be my favorite and it will take a lot to break his stoic shell.
When Sophie meets James it’s not on the best terms, but Sophie shuts him down. Sophie is working with Doc to get her internship for vet school and her first job is helping Doc with a difficult horse birth on the Bennett farm but James “Mr. Rodeo Star” Bennett questions her ability to assist in this. Now while Sophie finds him attractive she isn’t the type to fall at his feet, so after a tongue lashing from his Mama he apologizes and they agree to to call it “even” and be friends. As cocky as James can be and as defensive as Sophie is they try to find a common ground and it’s entertaining to read, I think Sophie is my favorite character and I am looking forward to read the other books in the series.
Buck Wild- a great start to this series for Lauren Landish! Its a sweet cowboy/ranch story with all the feels! Sophie and James – quite a couple! They meet and you the chemistry right away amongst the banter!
There is a great story with supporting characters readers will love very quickly. I always enjoy the honesty in characters when building a relationship and this book does not disappoint!
I look forward to reading more the the Bennett Boys!
Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) We meet Sophie, well we met her before in the heartstopper book for Roxie and Jake, hope you read if not I encourage you to do so, they are hilarious and you get a little more understanding not that you will be lost because you wont be and it does read as a standalone, but just a little extra. Any who back to review so we have Sophie who is studying to be a vet and she is working an internship where she ends up meeting James on her first assist. Their first meeting was not great they rubbed each other wrong but the attraction was there from the very beginning. They meet again and call a Truce and end up exploring the intense chemistry they have and the sexiness begins my friends. Can’t wait for the next brother…Enjoy!
OMG! This story was awesome. James and Sophie are such a hot and sexy couple. I really liked the fact that Sophie got her own story. And what a story it was! Sophie is the younger sister of Jake, the main character from Heartstopper, Irresistible Bachelor 3. I really enjoyed this spinoff from the series and can’t wait to read about the other Bennett brothers. James and Sophie were drawn to one another from the very beginning. Even though Jake had his doubts at the beginning if they could keep there romance going after the summer; he soon discovered he would do anything to keep her. Sophie not only fell in love with James but also his family and the life she could have. This is such a well written book, full of romance, adventure and even a little bit of drama in the form of the neighbors who share a fence with the Bennett ranch. I can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed this book and the wonderful HEA! I am looking forward to meeting Luke and Mark next.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
STEAMY, SEXY AND SINFUL !
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
It’s summer and James is back on the family ranch taking a break from the rodeo life he’s led for the last eight years. James lives for the rush of the rodeo. He’s cocky and awesome at riding bulls and he’s got the ego to prove it.
One morning James comes across Sophie in his barn. Sophie is studying to be a large animal vet and has accompanied Doc Jones to James’s family ranch; one of the horses is having difficulty birthing.
Sophie locks eyes with James and all is perfect in the world until he opens his mouth to speak. Sophie is a feisty, city girl and when James questions her abilities, she responds in kind. After some contemplation, both parties decide to call a truce and move on in a more professional manner. Well, professionalism is the last thing on their minds. When the attraction they share becomes too hard to contain, it leads to an unforgettable summer. With both heading out after the summer is over, they fall into what they call a casual fling. Fall is on its way and with it comes the rodeo and James’s departure.
Is what James and Sophie feel for each other strong enough to last through winter? Neither expected for anything deeper, but fate has other plans.
A CHANCE MEETING THAT RESULTS IN INSTANT ATTRACTION AND INSANE CHEMISTRY !
A BEAUTIFUL LOVE STORY WITH WELL WRITTEN, LIKEABLE CHARACTERS THAT WILL STAY WITH YOU LONG AFTER YOU FINISH READING ! BUCK WILD IS BOOK 1 IN THE SERIES AND I CAN’T WAIT TO READ MORE ABOUT MARK AND LUKE ! IF YOU LOVE SEXY, ALPHA COWBOYS, YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE THIS SERIES ! ! !
STEAMY, SEXY AND SINFUL ! ! !
**I received a copy of Buck Wild from Montlake Press and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.**
Buck Wild by Lauren Landish is the first book in her Bennett Boys Ranch series. I have read one other book by the author but this one is a new series. I did love the story and give it a hearty 4 star rating.
Sophie Stone is in the midst of her summer internship with the local vet Doc Jones when she gets to attend her first foal being born at the Bennett Ranch. Her first meeting with James isn’t as pleasant because of the type of birth but both move onto getting to know each other. Sophie parents were killed when she was a child and her brother raised her. With James and his family especially Mama Lou she’ll find a family she’s always wanted. When the summer ends will she stay or go to the Vet school to finish her studies?
James Bennett loves being a bull rider more than anything but when his father passes and he comes home for the summer will he decide that its time to set aside wild ways and help with the ranch with his brothers. When he meets Sophie the wanderlust that he’s had for years will have him questioning that maybe its time to go out on top. There will be a feud with the Tannen’s next door and a lot of hot sexy Sophie in his summer before he’ll finally make his mind up. But it’s Doc Jones (Think Dr. Pol) and Mama Lou that will make the store just a bit better.
Great start on these new series. I loved these two characters and the chemistry they have. James is a rodeo champ who came home for the summer to help on his family’s ranch. Sophie is studying to be a veterinarian and she is working with the local veterinarian as an intern for the summer on an internship. I thought these was a sweet and steamy read. I can’t wait to read about rest of the Bennett Brothers.I was provided with a advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGally in exchange for an honest review.
Buck Wild is my first book by Lauren Landish, and I’m always a little leery going into a new book from a new to me author. You never know if it’s going to be the best thing you ever read, or wonder how on earth the story someone approved to publish it. Thankfully Buck Wild was an amazing story.
James is a rodeo star home during the off season to help the family, and Sophie is a city girl who is an aspiring Vet in town to intern with the local Vet. Right from their first encounter together you can tell that James and Sophie’s chemistry is going to be off the charts, and that first impression doesn’t let you down. But there is more than just great chemistry. They are sweet and funny, with some very real emotion thrown in. Buck Wild was a fun story that had heart.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review. This is a new series that centers on the Bennett brothers, Mark, Luke and James. This book centers on James, the youngest brother, who is a professional bull rider. He has come home after his father dies to work on the ranch in the off season. Sophie is working as an assistant to the local vet for the summer before she starts Veterinary school. They start off on he wrong foot, but soon start banging like bunnies. What starts as a summer fling becomes more. What I enjoyed about the book, the Bennett clan, Sophie and all of the secondary characters. What kept this from being a five star review, no real conflict and the sex scenes started to get a little repetitive. Overall a good read, and I will definitely be reading the next book in the series.
A super sexy, light, feel good read. No angst, just pure cowboy romance. I can’t say a bad word about the story, the characters or the writing, it was endearing, super sexy and the perfect beach read. James Bennett is a hot as Hades, full on macho bull riding cowboy (although I must tell you, there is no bull riding in the story). He’s respectful to his mother and his father’s memory, he’s not afraid to admit when he’s wrong, and he’s awesome in bed. Sophie Stone is beautiful, she loves animals, especially farm animals (which bodes well for her), she can hold her own when it comes to bad boy cowboys, she’s got her act together, and she’s not afraid of going for what she wants. A summer fling that has the potential to be so much more, if only their lives weren’t heading in opposite directions. I was praying for their happy ever after, although I had no idea how they could achieve it, or even if they wanted it. I can’t wait for book 2, and I know which brother I’m hoping to find out more about next. I was provided with an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.
Audio review:
I loved James and Sophie’s story.
Her fire and sass, his zero effs attitude and his gentlemanly ways.
Aiden and Melissa did a fabulous job with narration, I’m going to dive into the next audiobook for sure!
This book was a little slow. The main character James Bennett is a successful bull rider home for the offseason, and because his father passed away. Helping his family is what he wants to do but he really can’t wait to get back out on the circuit-riding those bulls. Sophie Stone has finished college and is working with an old time veterinarian, and he gives her the duty to bringing a new life into their ranch. James does not think a woman or maybe she should not be left alone to do the birth, but when everything is okay he still does not say anything to her. It is the next day after being scolded by his mama, he apologizes the next day, and there slow begins what begins a summer romance. She would like more and at times he would also but she really would like him to give up riding bulls. She still has a little more school to finish and yet they both want to be together. A good story read to find out what happens. Has good characters. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 4 stars. Follow us at http://www.1rad-readerreviews.com
