From Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Lauren Landish comes a hard-riding romance of cowboys who run wild—and the women who tame them… summer off working his family’s ranch. That is, until a spirited and gorgeous veterinarian-in-training shows up and puts the cocky wild boy—and his ego—in place. Though she’s a feisty one, James is always up for a challenge.
Sophie Stone has to admit it: James Bennett is a checklist of cowboy hotness—ruggedly handsome with piercing blue eyes, a hard-muscled body, and just enough swagger to make her toes curl. She thought she was done with her bad-boy phase, but exceptions must be made.
How can Sophie possibly say no to a man who makes her heart buck like a bronco? And when their summer fling comes to an end, how can she possibly say goodbye?

You had me at cowboy.
I don’t want to give any spoilers because this book is well worth your time to read! Exciting, fun, entertaining, well written, engaging read, you will be hooked. This cowboy is smooth yet tough & rough, all in one, sexy hunk of man! James is just home for the summer to help at his families ranch that is until he meets the sweet & sexy yet sassy vet student Sophie who is interning with Doc the local vet. Once James & Sophie meet the sexual tension is crackling, the chemistry sizzling but the best part is by far their banter! Told from POV, Lauren Landish nails their snarky, sometimes humorous banter from their first interaction. Are we Even? the question is simple but once you read Buck Wild this question will suddenly have so much hot & humorous meaning, it will have you fanning yourself! Guess you need to one-click Buck Wild to find the wild & hidden sexual innuendo these two use with the simple question, Even? But when its the end of the summer & their summer fling is over, can these two part ways? James begins to question going back on the bull riding tour but Sophie’s internship with Doc is over and it’s back to vet school, right!? Landish hits the nail on the head with Book one of this series, definitely recommend adding Buck Wild to your Kindle library! And I can’t forget to add, I can’t wait for book 2 in the Bennett Boys Ranch series to see which of the other Bennett brothers is next!
I haven’t read too many cowboy romances in my time, however, if they’re all as hot as this one, I might just have to change that! Buck Wild was warm, sweet and steamy goodness. It was full of feel goods, low on angst, and had easy to like characters. Although the plot didn’t really seem to be going anywhere aside from a bit of drama from a rival family, I still found myself enjoying it and found myself getting lost in the pages. James and Sophie definitely blew hot. The romance wasn’t really there but I was still rooting for the two of them to ride off into the sunset together. I also really liked how the author tied in previous beloved characters into the story without taking away from the main ones. This was definitely something different from this author but I think she made it into a success.

Wow, this was so fantastic!!! James is a bull rider, a rancher, with 2 brothers who hopefully get their own books too. Sophie is Jake’s baby sis, from another series, but don’t worry- this can be read as a stand alone. It’s just cool to see a little tie in. Anyways, these two both are only home for the summer, and only have time for a fling. Jake’s mama knows better though. Lauren Landish has me on a cowboy kick now and this is a fantastic start to my new obsession.
Fun and sexy, sweet with a strong sense of family, this was a great read. And um, did you see the cover? That’s seriously what made me start to love this book. These country boys just have a way about them, and if you have ever been interested in cowboys, ranchers, or just a straight up awesome romance, I totally reccomend this one.
There ain’t nothing like a Hot Cowboy!!! You’ll love the family setting and the character’s are Awesome!
Hold and buck wild!
James Bennet. Cowboy, rodeo star, and all around bad boy starts off on the wrong foot with veterinary intern Sophie Stone when she goes on a house call to attend to one of his favourite horses.
Sophie, who has had enough of bad boys, puts him in his place, but then she realises that this Bennet boy might be the exemption to the rule.
What happens next is a toe-curling adventure, complete with sneaky hot sex and good old country vibe you can only find in the Bennet Boys Ranch.
Buckle-up, hold on tight, because James is but one of three hot Bennet boys sure to melt your hearts (and panties)!
Made me want to ride that cowboy!! So so hot Lauren!!
Country Boy meets City Girl and you have a funny, sweet and hot romance. James and Sophie first met, and it was not a great first introduction. Sophie is working with a vet for the summer and when she meets James on his family’s farm they do not start off on the right foot. When James apologizes to Sophie for his behavior they call a truce and start friendship filled with some playful flirting. When they flirting starts taking a more heated exchange they embark on a causal relationship being that they are only both there for the summer. They start getting to know one another and James gives her something she has been missing from her life. Sophie does the same by making James feel more grounded and that makes him itchy and scared. James is in the rodeo and has been the wild child of his siblings, so when he feels like things with Sophie might be getting serious he doesn’t know what to do. Sophie doesn’t run when it gets too serious, but she does have her fears and one is not being able to be with James after the summer.
Even though this is a sweet romance the dirty talking here is out of this world. I would love to have James dirty talk to me and it seems that it all it takes to get Sophie in the mood. The family aspect in the story is something I love reading about. When a family comes together in times of need is what Sophie and James have in common, they both know what lost is. The story did sort of lag in the middle which I didn’t like so much. The characters are funny, intense and perfect for each other. The supporting characters will make you fall in love with them as much as the main characters. It makes me want to know how Lauren will write the next brothers’ story because I am hoping there will be one.
WOW! James and Sophie are both super hot! And not to mention the instant attraction! I really enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it!
Sweet and sexy….and a little bit dirty, too? YES PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
If you’re looking for a fun read <3
I really enjoyed this story by this new to me author! I love the back and forth banter between Sophie and James. She wasn’t afraid to stand her ground with him and I loved that. Not normally a fan of the slow burn but for them it worked and I really liked it to my surprise….it just fit. Their story was such a sweet, steamy, cute romance that I thoroughly enjoyed and can’t wait to read more from this series. I mean come on you can’t go wrong with a smokin hot cowboy!! I recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a good cowboy romance….its a great book. Well done!!!!
What a wonderful beginning for a new series! I loved reading and following James and Sophie’s story and am very excited for the next book in the series. Lauren Landish has another winner on her hands.
Great start to a new series. Loved the banter between Sophie and James. They had chemistry from the start. Mama Lou is the perfect country Mama. Can’t wait for further visits to the ranch.
This was a good read. The writing flowed well for the most part, and I thought the characters were fully developed. I liked Sophie from the start. She was feisty, and she didn’t let anyone walk over her. James was a little harder to like from the beginning, but he was more likeable as the story went on. There wasn’t a whole of drama in this one, but I did enjoy their HEA. I liked the secondary characters, and I think the author made you interested in how the stories will go for the brothers.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
Buck Wild by Lauren Landish a five-star read that will drive you wild. Sophie Stone has definitely got some and she knows what to do with them, she is amazing, and she just knows how to bring the best out of people. She even knows how to put a wild Bennett boy in his place, during one of the scariest moments of her life as well, that’s why I know she has some massive stones. James Bennett may rue the day he ever made a bad comment and hopefully he will prove to our lovely Sophie that he is the nice gentleman that his Mama raised. Lovely and hot with a crazy booty to match, what more could you want. This is a steamy and sweet romance with a kick to it also.
This is the 1st book in a new series from this exceedingly talented author, and what an awesome introduction this is! James is the youngest of the brothers, and is a bull rider; therefore, he is only home for the summer. Sophie is studying large animals as a vet, and is assisting the local vet for experience. When these two first meet it is not the best introduction, but the chemistry between them is explosive. No spoilers; this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed! This is a well written flawless story, which has a tad drama, and plenty of humour. I was totally captivated throughout, and cannot wait to read the next book in this addictive series!
Sophie has plans that include the summer interning for the local vet and then off to veterinary school in the fall. Nowhere in her plans is there a place blocked out for a wild bull riding cowboy. But after a rather rough start, she finds herself spending plenty of time with James as he helps out on his family’s ranch until he returns to the rodeo circuit in a few months. Neither are looking for more than a summer fling but sometimes fate has other things in store.
This was a relatively low drama read with the conflicts this couple face pretty low angst and quickly dealt with. While I enjoyed both of these characters, sometimes their intimate moments were a bit cheesy and overdone with the cowboy-isms. They were still hot as heck but I quickly started skimming every time they started all the silly talk/play in the bed or wherever else they found themselves. This is a total me thing as I can only handle a few scenes such as that and this book exceeded my limitations. Nevertheless, there’s enough steamy moments that there was still plenty left for me to read all the way through.
I liked the way this couple worked out their concerns in a completely adult manner and other than a little blip of insecurity, they never allowed them to come between them. This story also sets up what I assume to be the background for future books and what may be some additional conflict for the other Bennett brothers. It is well written, has a pretty good pace that was never repetitive, other than those pesky cowboy-isms, and was rounded out with a very nice epilogue.
Overall, if you enjoy cowboys, country living with momma’s home cooking, and a bit of trouble from someone who wants all the land to themselves, I would totally recommend this.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley and Montlake. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
