From Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Lauren Landish comes a hard-riding romance of cowboys who run wild—and the women who tame them… summer off working his family’s ranch. That is, until a spirited and gorgeous veterinarian-in-training shows up and puts the cocky wild boy—and his ego—in place. Though she’s a feisty one, James is always up for a challenge.
Sophie Stone has to admit it: James Bennett is a checklist of cowboy hotness—ruggedly handsome with piercing blue eyes, a hard-muscled body, and just enough swagger to make her toes curl. She thought she was done with her bad-boy phase, but exceptions must be made.
How can Sophie possibly say no to a man who makes her heart buck like a bronco? And when their summer fling comes to an end, how can she possibly say goodbye?

As the beginning of a new series, Buck Wild starts off with a bang! Steamy and intense, James and Sophie’s story kept me riveted to the page. One of the reasons Lauren Landish is a favorite author of mine is because she never disappoints! Can’t wait for Riding Hard to be released in March 2019!
Saddle up, pardner, cuz James and Sophie are about to take you on a sweet and sexy ride in Buck Wild!
When bull rider James meets vet intern Sophie, the hostility between the two is obviously masking a latent attraction. And it doesn’t take long for them to consummate that attraction. But, is a relationship in the cards for the two when James is fixing to head back out on the circuit, and Sophie is set to go back to school once summer is over?
While Buck Wild isn’t anything epic or out of the ordinary, it delivers steam, snappy dialogue and an exciting cast of Bennett Brothers to explore in further installments of the Bennett Boys Ranch series. If cowboy love is your jam, I highly recommend you give Buck Wild a quick read.

This was my first Lauren Landish book, but it won’t be my last. I really enjoyed this one, and loved watching these characters get to know each other. James and Sophie are adorable together.
Right from the start, you’re hooked on these two, as their initial meeting is quite interesting. Throw in James awesome family, the fabulous Doc that Sophie works with, and later on in the novel, her new friend Shayanne, and this is a really nice and easy read.
There’s some angst and tension where its needed, and it keeps you on edge a little, but its not over the top, and works well with the story. Also, it’s just plain hot in the sexy time scenes. I love the way both main characters are quite down to earth, and they’re also both understanding and hardworking.
These two have a great relationship that you’re determined to see how they will make it work, and if in the end, they really can be together seriously, instead of just a summer fling.
The secondary characters in this are just as great as the main characters, and I really look forward to reading the rest of this series. I’m assuming we will get James brothers books next, but I would also like to see Shayanne get a book too. The Bennett world and surrounds is very interesting, so I’ll be looking forward to what is to come!
I loved this read about James, a bull rider who is at his prime on the circuit, who comes back home to the ranch after the sudden passing of his dad. His two brothers and him keep the ranch going and for the summer he comes home to help. He meets the new assistant, Sophie, to the vet and ends up sticking his foot in his mouth and Sophie gives it right back. Their next encounter is more tame and apologetic and has both of them feeding the sparks between them. But Sophie has vet school and James has to go back to the circuit after summer…is it a summer fling or could it be something more.
I adored this read, it was sweet and steamy and I loved how it all flowed beautifully without too much drama between them. I loved how mature both of them were, being honest and open and the banter between them was perfect. This read didn’t need over the top drama, miscommunication, lies, secrets, which makes it the perfect romance with steam and an AMAZING read. I LOVED how James wasn’t afraid of his emotions, how mature he was in making his decisions, how he didn’t make an a** of himself and the respect he shows his mama which reflected on how he treated Sophie…refreshing. Sophie was a firecracker and held her own, tit for tat when she was with James and I LOVED how both of them made decisions together, not holding out or hiding from their feelings. Can’t wait for the next one !!!!
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
This is my first book by the author and most certainly wont be my last!
Sophie was a breath of fresh air in the sass department! It was rather refreshing and I grew to really like her!!
James, well, he was a bit of an idiot at the start but then as things progressed he grew on me! His Mama though??!! Well I wouldn’t mind meeting her! And Doc, he was awesome showing and teaching Sophie how to do Vet things in the country town!
I smiled a lot whilst reading this story! Loved the conversations, the wonderful sense of family and a storyline that just made me feel all gooey inside that I even shed tears in parts!
But since Sophie is only in town for the summer, its her aim to get some real experience helping and caring for large animals, needless to say she doesn’t count on the flirtatious James!
This was such an easy but fun and enjoyable read.
It was a real feel good, beautiful and heartwarming story that is a definite must read and I certainly cant wait for more of this series and to read more of this authors work!
Beautiful
I won a copy of this book from Goodreads giveaways, I was not required to give a favorable review. But this book was well written. It draws you into the personalities of each of the characters. And a wonderful love story.
Some of Landish’s best writing. This story was rich with love and meaning as the characters find thier way in life and to each other. James and Sophie’s chemistry is through the roof but thier relationship was developed beyond the bedroom. You root for them together and individually. I cannot wait for more stories from this world. I have my fingers crossed for a neighborly love. I can so see it in large part due to the secondary characters taking on a life of thier own. I love the voices given and the world created! LL’s ability to suck you into a book with her brilliant storytelling is amazing. I highly recommend this book.
James and Sophie find that the best laid plans can’t help but toss you some curves. Working with a God’s honest country vet is an experience and opportunity that Sophie plans on taking every advantage of before she heads off for Veterinarian School in the fall. She just wasn’t counting on a sexy cocky cowboy to throw a wrench into things. Suddenly James is making it impossible to imagine being anywhere other than in his arms and on his family ranch, but what about her plans? James usually spent scant weeks at home in between training and rodeo competitions. Since his father’s passing he’s been home to do his share on the ranch and with Mama. When Sophie blows in fiery and beautiful he figures he can be sweet on her to pass the time, but it soon becomes apparent she makes him want things he never thought he would.

Sweetly sexy, emotionally engaging and entertaining romantic journey filled with undeniable passion and adorably perfect couple…. was an interesting and heartwarming story.
Sophie and James start out as a summer fling they both agree will end since they both have big plans in the works… One is going to school and the other is going back on the rode with the rodeo, but life just may have other bigger and better plans for them both… really enjoyed this family and look forward to more Bennett’s.
Buck Wild is book 1 in the Bennett Boys Ranch series by Lauren Landish. This was a sweet, steamy romance between James a sexy bull riding cowboy who comes home to help out on his family’s ranch when his father passes away and Sophie who is town for the summer interning for the local vet to gain some experience before she heads to school. They meet and the sparks fly. This is a great read and I highly recommend it.
4 Star review of Buck Wild (Bennett Boys Ranch #1) by Lauren Landish
Lauren Landish is a new author to me and Buck Wild was a great book to start with, particularly since it is the first book in a new series.
James Bennett is a rodeo cowboy who loves the adrenaline rush of his job. Spending time at his family ranch he feels like something, is missing, that is until he meets Sophie Stone a trainee veterinarian.
Sophie intrigues James, particularly because she is feisty and challenges him on several levels. Will Sophie fall for the rugged and smoking hot cowboy or will she be able to resist his charms?
When James and Sophie embark on a hot and passionate summer romance, neither of them know how it will change their lives. Buck Wild was a hot read which kept my attention. I liked the development of the characters and found the story flowed well and I look forward to reading more from this author and the Bennett Boys.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.
In my opinion this was a pretty good effort for Lauren Landish’s first time cowboy romance. I got to know Sophie Stone a little in Heartstopper (The Irresistible Bachelor Series Book #3). She grew up through out the series. As she got older I want get to know her story more. Well Lauren Landish has given it to me. I loved get to know Sophie she has gotten more sassy, won’t take crap and won’t hesitate to call you on your crap. I love her. When Sophie tells James to shut up or get out, I couldn’t help but laugh, but I felt the spark between Sophie and James and boy was there. James is loyal, loves his family but loves not being tied down. Sophie and James together is hot and steamy, I loved them together. I have a couple of issues with this book. First I did not feel there was any suspense, that is one of my favorite things about Lauren Landish’s stories. I’m not sure why but for some reason this was a slow moving story for me, doesn’t mean I didn’t like. Overall I liked the story and thought is was a good first try. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy.
RATING 3.5 STARS
Buck Wild is book one in the brand new series, Bennett Boys Ranch by Lauren Landish. Lauren is a new to me author and I chose this book because I have a huge obsession to cowboy romances and thought this would be a great way to introduce myself to this author. I think I’m going to be unpopular when I say that for me, the book was just okay. It didn’t hold my interest the way I wanted it to. And although the sexy times between these two were hot, hot, hot, I never really felt the romance. I didn’t swoon or sigh. So in that respect, I was a bit disappointed.
James Bennett is a very successful professional rodeo bull rider. It’s off season and his father has just passed away so he has come home to his family’s ranch to help his two older brothers and mother with keeping everything going. But at the end of the summer, he will be back on the circuit. James is not the relationship kind of guy. His constant moving from one rodeo to the next prohibits that. So when he first met the sexy little veterinarian student who didn’t hesitate to put him right in his place, he was shocked at his reaction to her, and how much he couldn’t wait to see her again.
“This girl might be trouble. And if there’s anything I like more than riding bulls, it’s trouble.”
Sophie Stone has just finished college and is preparing to enter veterinary school. She has scored a summer internship with a small town vet and is thrilled with the experience working with him will give her. When they are called to the Bennett ranch to deliver a foal, she meets the Bennett men, but it’s one in particular that catches her eye. Their first meeting, though, was not a pleasant one. But the next time they met, things went better and the chemistry between them sizzled.
“She’s an angel, with a body built for sin…and she’s unafraid to show me both sides.”
Sophie and James enter into a summer fling. They both know their time together will have an expiration date. Sophie is going off to vet school in the fall and James back to his rodeos. But the more time these two spend together, the more their feelings grow, making them both wonder if they will be able to walk away as planned.
Now that the Bennett boy’s mamma, Louise, is alone, it seems as there might be those who are ready to take advantage of her. But her boys are ready to do whatever it takes to defend their home.
This book definitely has some steamy sexy times. Sophie and James have chemistry that steams right off the pages. I think my lack of connection was probably just me. Still, it was an enjoyable read and if you are a lover of sexy cowboys, you will probably enjoy this book!
“Sometimes fate has its own plan for us.”
To be honest, this week I didn’t feel like writing a review because I’ve got nothing new to say. That’s why I’ve been prolonging this review but I feel like I have to write it at some point because the sooner the better (and well, I’ll forget what I want to say).
Lately, I have felt this need to read cowboy romances and well, when you start it’s hard to stop.
I’m a newbie to Lauren Landish’s books and I was excited to read this book. I did like her writing but sadly, even though it was interesting, all I can say about it is that the book is very steamy. The connection between them is almost instant and they soon started to sleep together.
I do think the author’s writing has a potential but I just didn’t feel connected to the characters or the story. Yeah, he’s a bull rider and is with family only during the summer and yes, Sophie is in town for summer too because she has school in the fall, but there’s no bigger confliction or drama in the book. And I missed that. That’s why I didn’t feel like writing the review right after I finished Buck Wild because I didn’t know what to say. I had to think about it for a few days.
All I remember from the book is steamy moments, fixing the fence and the neighbouring family. I wish I could say more but that’s what for me was missing. More.
3,5 stars.
