A WEDDING FOR THE WIDOWER is the first book in the Brush Creek Brides series, a series of Christian western romance novels you can read in a single evening! This series features wholesome, uplifting, and satisfying “weeknight” romances. Weeknight romances: 3 bucks. 2 hours. 1 satisfying, uplifting, and romantic story.Former rodeo champion and cowboy Walker Thompson trains horses at Brush Creek … Thompson trains horses at Brush Creek Horse Ranch, where he lives a simple life in his cabin with his ten-year-old son, Michael. A widower of six years, he’s just trying to provide a life for Michael that his late wife would’ve approved of. He’s worked with Tess Wagner, a widow who came to Brush Creek to escape the turmoil of her life to give her seven-year-old son, Graham, a slower pace of life. Together, they run a cotton candy stand at the town’s Heritage Festival every fall, donating the money they raise to the National Widows & Widowers Foundation to help those who’ve suffered the way they have.
Walker’s boss and best friend, ranch owner Landon Edmunds, has encouraged him to start dating, and Walker looks no further than Tess. She’s interested in him too, but neither of them wants to inflict more sorrow and suffering on the other than they’ve already endured. So when Tess confesses that her breast cancer has flared up again, Walker backs off. Way off.
In the end, he’ll have to decide if he’d rather spend even a short time with Tess and Graham than not have them in his life at all. Tess wants to feel God’s love and power, but she’ll have to discover and accept God’s will in order to find her happy ending.
The Brush Creek Brides series is a spin-off series from the bestselling Gold Valley Romance novel, THROUGH THE MIST, also by Liz Isaacson.

Great book. Loved it. Awesome author.
I hopped into this series after reading through Horseshoe Ranch where our owners have their own story. An enjoyable read with a heavy emphasis on faith – which I loved.
Both Walker and Tess lost their spouse in accidents. And both have a young boy to raise. They’ve been friends for 4yrs., but are now looking to take it a bit further to potentially be more. I liked the real feel of this story, with their reactions, fears and feelings. Good ending.
Great book
I liked A Wedding For The Widower because it is a touching story of love, trials and faith. A journey between two who’ve loved and lost yet sought a renewal of love. A melding of two families together; while striving for faith in God. I was captivated by this book and how ones struggle with cancer brings them closer to each other and God. I haven’t seen a book grip my emotions as much as this has in quite a while; it’s the tops. . The Arthur was instrumental in hiding who the real culprit was. I enjoyed this book from cover to cover for both a good story of faith and healing, love and trust. It has a nice wholesome cover unlike some books of today. The Arthur weaves life’s challenges into the story. Few other books compare to how the author portrays the characters in this book. An altogether five stare performance again.
It is a wonderfully wholesome book I’d recommend to read over and over.
Wow! This book had me reeling! My emotions were all over the place. I so loved this story. Walker and Tess finally get together after losing our spouses (both in accidents). Then add to it, Tess has breast cancer. Oh my. This is a quick read (thank goodness as I cried buckets!)
This story contained by favorite dual POVs. It really helps me to understand the characters. Especially in this story of loss and possible future loss. The characters seemed so real. The plot flowed so smoothly. It was like a movie played in my mind. I was sad to see the words, The End!!!! I highly recommend this story to anyone!!!
A sweet story about second chances at love. Tess and Walker have been friends for four years. Both been widowers and with a son on their own. Can they risk to love again with the fear at losing it again? They need faith in order to have a future together.
This is a tender story about loss and trials and letting yourself love again. The story is touching and the characters are great. I really enjoyed it!
Tess is so sweet! I can’t imagine being in her situation. She had been through so much! I loved her reaction to Walker asking her out, and the way she tried to kept things moving along.
Walker struggled a bit with how to handle this new relationship. I admired his concern for his son. The way Walker handled things drove me crazy sometimes, but he sure got it right in the end!
This was a great start to the series! Brush Creek seems like a wonderful place to live, and a great place to set a series. I’m looking forward to reading the next book!
I received a copy of the book, which I voluntarily reviewed. I have given my honest opinion.
Can I first just begin this review off by stating how much I absolutely love Ms. Isaacson and all the hard work that she puts in each of her novels? She is truly magnificent and each of her stories holds a piece of her heart as she continues to share more and more of herself with her devoted readers.
“A Wedding for the Widower” is a beautiful tale about two friends that came together after years of standing on the sidelines to finally find the love of a lifetime. After both losing their loved ones to accidents, Tess and Walker as twice gun shy and scared to make the first step into a new relationship and this time there is something more stopping them from taking the plunge- Tess has a terrible illness that has returned in full force. Can these two put aside their differences and move past their past to begin anew? It will take a lot of faith and trust in the Father to begin this new journey, but with the love of the Father they know that they cannot go wrong!
Brush Creek Brides is full of wonderful new adventures which includes Landon and Megan in this spin off series about their own horse ranch training the next rodeo stars before their time. There is more love and good times to be had in this up and coming series that I am sure that each and every reader will not want to miss out on!
Very good Author!!!
