And she wants answers. Surprisingly, they give them to her. What do you do when you find out you’re not who you always thought you were and your whole world gets flipped upside down?

A fiery read!

A really good start to this new slow burn romance series! I really enjoyed getting to know sweet Ariel and her men. It makes such an interesting and addictive read because, as I said it is a slow burn, and she does not like two of them as yet.
A really enjoyable read that will leaving you wanting more especially after that ending (no cliffhanger!). A read that will leaving you expressing various emotions, especially sadness and heartbreak.
Full of witches, covens, magic, attraction, slow burn romances, abuse and secrets.
Perfect for readers of paranormal reverse harem romances.
I have been eyeing up this series for awhile and once I saw more and more were coming on audiobook I decided to take the plunge! And boy was I happy I did so. I am already on Book 3 (sadly almost done and only book 4 to go – I think book 5 is being recorded so hopefully it wont be long until its ready on here.
In terms of the narration, I have seen audiobooks with Melissa as the narrator and have listened to some samples and didnt have a problem with her then and certainly dont have any now. I thought she did a good job with all the various characters. I will be checking out the other RH titles she has done previously because I would definitely listen to her again. My only feedback (constructive) is that she does a fabulous job distinguishing between the female characters, but not really with the male. I think Marcus stands out, as well as Chuck but none of the guys in the harem. No issues like I said, just ways to help improve and get it to 5 stars every time.
For the story, I really liked the premise, I am liking how the story is unfolding and that we have no idea what the end game is. In a lot of RH stories we kinda have an idea what the climax/big battle will be but that’s is not the case here. I like how the relationship building will come first it seems, while Ariel is learning about her powers and this new world she was abruptly shoved into. While listening I was ready to chuck my phone with Vivian’s antics, I couldn’t wait until she got her just rewards. I couldn’t help smiling and giggling with the relationship between Marcus and Ariel. Loved that he was treating her that way and she was surprised but inwardly happy. I will say it was a quick turnaround that he was treating her like a surrogate daughter which seemed a little shady to me, so I was waiting for the other shoe to drop and my theory to be blown to bits haha. I am happy with this first book in this awesome series. I am looking forward to listening to more and probably reading the novellas in between waiting for book 5 to be ready.
100% recommend this book, just be prepared for a slow-burn romance. I am listening to book 3 and not a ton has happened sexually for the guys. So many adorable moments, gonna get back to listening now!
I’ve read this book many times over and it’s always the one I come back to when I need to take some much needed me time.
Mary is a truly brilliant author and creates wonderful worlds that make it so easy to lose yourself in. If you haven’t yet read this book, then it’s time you give it a go!
A reverse harem, paranormal romance. I loved this book, I’ve read it many times, and listening to narrator Melissa Schwairy really brought the story to life! I loved the heroine Ariel, despite her horrendous home life, she’s got a goal to just finish the school year. However her introduction to the coven isn’t smooth, and she has trouble accepting her new reality. Some of the coven isn’t welcoming and I wanted to hex them for her! And wow, uncle Quint sounds like quite the character! I can’t wait for book 2 to be available on audible!
I’m not that into high school age books but picked this up as a referral from one of my book groups. I really liked it, Ariel is damaged and her story pulls at you. I like Marcus Cole and want to learn more about him and her mother is definitely a piece of work. As for the men, I hope we have just scratched the surface in book one and we get to learn more about them. There’s humor, slow burn romance, mystery and intrigue. If these are of interest to you then I would give this book a shot.
Amazing book and a must read. Ariel moved in with her Mom in a house with Mr Cole. Her Mom is only interested in herself and not so much in Ariel. Mr Cole tries to do nice things for her. She also meets new neighbours and is attracked to at least four of them. What happens next? Well go read this book in order to find out!
So when you are on a road trip with your BFF and she starts to read this book to you while you drive stating you just have to read. Well you listen to her and let me tell you she was right. I am hooked on this series.
Ariel Kimber has not had an easy life mostly thanks to her mother. Her mom abuses her and has men going in and out her door like people going in and out a revolving door. Her mom meets a man and uproots her to a strange town and new school with no friends. The hurt doesn’t end there being the new girl at school proves to be difficult especially when the town knows her mom’s rep. When she meets her neighbor’s things start to change for her.
Tyson lives with his Uncle Quinton and twins, Able and Addison. Ariel becomes fast friends with Tyson but she is leery of Uncle Quin. These four are keeping a big secret from Ariel and she has no idea how much she has in common with them or why she is drawn to them.
The connection these guys and Ariel have is off the charts. The surprises and twists Mary Martel puts in this one has me wanting more and more as I read. The characters are different in their own way and I want to know everything about each one..yes, even Uncle Quin he is so brooding and mysterious.
I am so glad my partner in crime made me listen to this one. I am hooked and so ready for the next book.
First off, yes this is definitely a reverse harem and yes, it’s a wee bit of a YA type (Ariel is 17).
Anyway, I love the dynamic between Ariel and her guys! Honestly, one of my favorite aspects is that it is definitely not an insta-love type of situation. A few of the guys are just out right against being with Ariel, which makes the relationship growth between the characters so much more believable.
Besides all that, the storyline is so well crafted that I just immediately got sucked in. I typically read books via Kindle Unlimited, but I’m so glad I tried the sample for this one because I immediately went out and bout it and the other books in the series. Definitely worth it!
I bought this book awhile ago and after all the good recommendations I finally read it. I can totally understand why the RH community recommends this series so much. This book is fantastic! Awesome storyline, amazing characters. I can’t wait to read book 2, thankfully I bought all the books that are out for this series so far so I can just go on reading! So excited to see what happens in Book 2!
