These books are so funny! I hate when they end!
An Exciting Mystery!
Well now, no poison this time. I like that. Most cozy witch mysteries use poison, so seeing this one include a cut break line makes it far more enticing. Also, the list of suspects is longer and much more difficult for the characters to sort through — none of that small circle of possibilities stuff. Plus, the suspect is in no way a standard one, which makes this story far better than usual.
I do have to admit I figured out who did it early on, but I still enjoyed the adventure, mystery, humor, and family disagreements. I always love seeing if I am correct in my judgment.
I do have a question, though… Is Max a witch? Goldie sometimes gets shocked touching him and that cat sure is attracted to the guy. Or maybe he is from an enemy family and doesn’t know it.
Only issues were: the numerous typos, using Max’s name instead of Walsh’s (just 1X), and having Max pick up the cat from Goldie’s twice to take for microchip scanning.

I read the first four books of this series as a box set and fell in love with the quirky characters. I was excited to read the next chapter in the lives of Goldie and Max…Will he ever kiss her?? Lol. If you want to find out how good this series is, start at the beginning and discover them like I did. However, you can read each as a stand alone but why??
Morgana Best books are my fun books. What’s a fun book? It’s a book I read after I’ve read something scary or something that was very emotional for me. It’s the books I turn to when the day was long and I just want to get lost in a book that makes me laugh.
In Broom Service, Goldie and company are investigating the suspicious death of Sheila McFeeler. They are also trying to keep the investigation from Max. It’s a bit difficult to do as Max’s parents and stepmother are visiting and expect to spend time with Goldie. There’s a bit of hilarity in the balancing of the two. The mystery was well crafted with several suspects known and unknown. If you are looking for a cozy mystery that will keep you guessing and laughing, this is for you.
Max’s parents and stepmother come to visit. Unfortunately, the stepmother’s favorite color is orange. Since Persnickle the wombat hates orange, the stepmother is constantly attacked. A strange car crash results in the death of a local sea witch. But is it murder or an accident? Goldie’s friends worry since Goldie is a sea witch. They think someone is out to get the power of the sea witches.
Join Goldie in solving this mystery while creating havoc. I enjoyed this book.
I can’t say enough about this series! If you haven’t tried it, do yourself a favor and try one. In East Buckleberry, coffee is illegal. When a town councilor who is against legalizing coffee is killed, Sea witch Goldie can’t seem to help looking into it. Max’s parents and stepmother are in town so juggling them and her snooping is no east task. With her wombat familiar Persnickle and her friends Oleander and Athanasius, Goldie pieces together the mystery. A very fun read. I received an ARC of this book and I’m leaving a voluntary review. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

Laughed my sox off! Again!
Even if I had gotten dropped into the series cold, I would have caught up in short order. Goldie is a Sea Witch but her police detective boyfriend doesn’t know that. What he does know is that a local resident who opposed changing the law that made coffee illegal in East Buckle was murdered. He also didn’t know that the woman was also a Sea Witch. Add in his visiting mother, father, and nasty stepmother who favors orange colored everything, Goldie’s pet Wombat who tries to destroy anything orange, and Goldie’s elderly friends from the retirement home and you have the recipe for a real laugh fest!
Good read!
