When Hattie’s family approaches Brighton to take over the local bed and breakfast because they heard “she doesn’t have a job”, she’s not quite sure what to say. Then, they flash a stack of cash, and Brighton figures it can’t be all that bad. And it isn’t… until someone has to go and turn up dead.Broom and Board is book 7 in the Wicked Witches of Coventry cozy mystery series.

Brighton is asked to run the local bed and breakfast. Having no other job, she agrees. Running the place is no problem. It’s the dead body that mucks things up.
I’m done with this series. Each book gets more stupid than the last and does the author even have an editor? Huge gaps in the timeline, corners are cut, editing is shit, and it’s not even cute nor funny anymore. Not even a little bit. Buh-bye.
Fun little cozy mystery that will keep readers enthralled all the way to the end. I personally love the scenes where the ghost throws stuff at Brighton as these are where the story really dives into the paranormal stuff. The scene with the guest videoing everything is the best, and learning how Meri lived in a hovel during the middle ages is fascinating. It is also great to hear that Brighton has found her dream job, so I am excited to read how that will go. Plus, the prophecy… I must know more as no details are explained in Familiar Kitten Mysteries, either.
Issues:
1. A few areas where details conflict with each other.
2. Typos.
3. The reference to 80s movies has me annoyed once more that Wicked Witches of Coventry and Familiar Kitten Mysteries exist in the same time period when there should be a 30 year difference.

Brighton thinks she has found her calling, running a Bed and Breakfast. She love it that is until she finds a dead guest in the kitchen on her first day. So now she just has to solve the crime.
This is a wonderful paranormal cozy mysteries complete with quirky small town characters. I enjoy this series and find the characters interesting and charming. The mystery was full of surprises, several suspects and of course magic, ghosts, and romance. I can hardly wait for the next cozy paranormal mystery in the Wicked Witches of Coventry series.
I love the characters in this series. I’d like to see Brighton learn to use her craft better with there always being a crisis at hand. I understand that she has her familiar, but I’d like to see Brighton hone her magic and not need the assistance of others too often. I know that sounds negative, it wasn’t intended to be, but instead hopes for the main character. This book seemed to have been enchanted as the pages seemed to just turn quickly on their own. This book is a must read in the series.

Brighton was hired by Lucy, a strange sister to Hattie, who had previously owned the then tiny inn. Lucy and her husband updated and expanded the inn, renaming it Coventry Inn.
A large group of executives shows up for an unusual corporate retreat. Jack, the cheating CEO, manages to make his uneven temper known to Brighton, venting his anger a bit over some expected candy.
Jack was inexplicably popular with the ladies. It makes him a victim with too many suspects. Several of the women who pop up seem to be more than a bit on the unusual side, and most are more concerned with their own interests than with Jack.
Things go bump and bang, and Brighton keeps getting bopped on the head. Hints are dropped about some possible wild supernatural happenings ahead.
Buckle up folks! I think we’re in for a bumpy ride!
