A sexy new standalone from USA Today bestseller Sarina Bowen. You’d think a billion dollars, a professional hockey team and a six-bedroom mansion on the Promenade would satisfy a guy. You’d be wrong. For seven years Rebecca has brightened my office with her wit and her smile. She manages both my hockey team and my sanity. I don’t know when I started waking in the night, craving her. All I know is … night, craving her. All I know is that one whiff of her perfume ruins my concentration. And her laugh makes me hard.
When Rebecca gets hurt, I step in to help. It’s what friends do. But what friends don’t do is rip off each others’ clothes for a single, wild night together.
Now she’s avoiding me. She says we’re too different, and it can never happen again. So why can’t we keep our hands off each other?
I loved this fresh new twist on the billionaire storyline and the absolutely dreamy hero. Nate is everything I could ever want in a book boyfriend – he’s smart, confident, and completely smitten! Brooklynaire is sexy and addictive! #1 NYT Bestseller Lauren Blakely

Loved this book! Nate is such a delicious hero!! I fell hard for him!
I love all of Sarina’s books and this was no exception!
Brooklynaire hooked me on the first page, and I couldn’t put it down! I loved this smart, funny, and sexy friends-to-lovers romance!
Fun, flirty and totally satisfying. Get ready because Nate is the hockey-loving geek billionaire you need in your life!
This was hard to put down once I’d started it and I’d finished it before I knew it.
I had no idea that a tech nerd billionaire who has a thing for his assistant for seven years was my jam, but it turns out it is. I loved this!
Easy feel good read!
Loved this book and LOVE my new swoon-worthy book boyfriend Nate.
This is the second book I’ve “read” on audio. Being an audio newbie, the third narrator threw me for a nanosecond, but then I got the hang of it when I realized the third guy was the narrator telling us the backstory.
I liked how Sarina Bowen shows an office romance in a positive light, but does make all the risks Becca is taking quite clear. We also see all the risks Nate is taking. As the boss, one (and his lawyer and HR would make this argument) he’s taking more risk than her.
I loved how once they accepted they were going to take that risk, and they faced up to how much they cared for each other, from that point on they act like the two mature, intelligent characters they are.
This is the first book I read, and I gathered from other reviews there are earlier books in the series? This is a true standalone because I didn’t gather there were prior books in the series at all when listening. But, I will be going to look for additional books in the series, because I’m not ready to say goodbye to Nate. And can I say, as far as cover art goes… the guy with glasses as Nate? Perfection.
Brooklynaire is great. You don’t really need to read the first three books in the series to read it, but it doesn’t hurt either. This book runs simultaneously with Pipe Dreams, but as I said before, can be read as a standalone. I recommend reading the other three books first solely because it will certainly make reading Brooklynaire imperative. I mean, this is Nate and Becca’s story. Finally. And it is so amazingly awesome and wonderful you won’t be disappointed. This story is one of Sarina’s finest, and that is saying a lot, because she only writes amazing stories.
Nate Kattenberger is THE hottest, nicest, and geekiest billionaire around. And the coolest, too, because he owns a hockey team. He has everything a 32 year old could ever want. Well, except the girl that is. He’s had a thing for Becca for what feels like forever, but he doesn’t believe she feels the same. Plus, she’s his employee and her friend. He can’t go there without everything getting messed up, so he just keeps his distance.
Becca has known Nate for seven years. She burried the attraction she felt for him a long time ago, and devoted herself to develop a beautiful friendship with him. But things changed somewhere along the way, and she is now unsure of her standing with him. He is her dear friend, but also her boss, and she is completely aware that her future, and that of her family, depends on him.
An apparently harmless accident on the ice rink forces Becca to face some health issues, bringing Nate’s protectiveness to the table. And that single incident unleashes a chain of events that will force them to acknowledge their feelings for each other. But those feelings come with real problems, meaning they will have to come to terms with them, and what the future holds for them. They will have to decide if they are willing to risk not only their hearts, but also their work relationship to be together.
What I love about this book is not only the love story between Nate and Becca, but Nate and Becca themselves. They are such great characters, very human and down to earth. Well, as down to earth as a billionaire geek can be, I guess.
Their banter is priceless. Their friendship, and personalities are so well described and developed throughout the book, it’s a pleasure to read. If you add Bingley, Nate’s very own smart speaker, to the mix, you have a winner. Brooklynaire is so damn hilarious and so, so sweet. And freaking hot. Seriously hot. I loved every single word.
There are several flashbacks to different moments during the past seven years that tell the story of their friendship and work relationship, and how it has grown and developed. It adds background information and depth to the story, showing how they became friends and what they mean to each other.
It’s not surprising to find serious topics in Sarina Bowen’s books, and Brooklynaire is not the exception. I find her approach to head injuries, concussions in hockey are not uncommon I guess, interesting and very smart. And as I said before, it is the catalyst that makes the status quo of Nate and Becca’s relationship to implode.
But the other aspect I find interesting is her approach to office romance. In an age when we hear more (horror) stories about abuse of power, violence against women, and sexual harassment in the workplace, I can see Sarina Bowen put a lot of thought and effort into how to tell this story and remain true to her heroine’s values. It’s not easy to be a woman in a relationship with her boss and keep being respected for her work. She has a point when she says that women don’t get the benefit of the doubt. They are simply judged.
All in all, Brooklynaire is a beautiful love story filled with palindromes, the characters we have come to love from previous books, more than a few Jane Austen references, professional hockey, and hotness. I loved this book with all my heart, and I see myself reading it over and over again. It’s a Five-Stars read from start to finish.
PS, the audiobook is amazingly amazing.
I loved this book, possibly my favorite of the Brooklyn Bruisers series. Great characters, and a fun story. Very entertaining.
I absolutely loved this friends to lovers romance. Rebecca has worked for Tech genius Nate since his company was running out of a single room office. For seven years they have worked together, watched the company grow, and Nate become a Tech mogul all the while fighting their attraction to one another. Then an accident brings to light feelings they have been denying. Neither wants to ruin their friendship but once those feelings are out in the open they struggle to deny them.
Nate and Rebecca’s story is beautiful and I love how through it all they value their friendship and want to do everything they can to not loose it. This is a must read for anyone that loves this troupe.
Again, I love this series and the not so easy or quick, road to love. I loved how the billionaire nerd tries to fit in the sports world and how he eventually does that. I love Rebecca and Nate’s relationship, how it started at the beginning of his rise to wealth and their unique connection even though they aren’t romantically involved at first. I really enjoyed how for years he love he showed her his love without telling her how he felt. It made for a very satisfying romantic relationship when they do finally get together.
I love the whole Brooklyn Bruisers series. If you’re a hockey romance junkie, don’t miss these.
Entertaining, sweet, and satisfying
Nate and Rebecca’s story just pushed all the right buttons for me. The story combines an office romance and friends to lovers trope. It’s sweet and entertaining, and I loved that Nate is brilliantly nerdy and sexy. How can you resist such a combination? I loved everything about this book with wonderful characters, humorous storyline, and sensual tension, and the connection between Nate and Rebecca is one of friendship, caring, and support. Now I need to find the start of the Brooklyn Bruiser series.
Hot hunky billionaire and there’s hockey. Fun, steamy read.
Fabulously entertaining and steamy AF.
I just ate this book right up and had a smile on my face the whole time. This friends to lovers story just hit every right button for me. I loved that we also got to see back to the beginning of Nate and Becca’s friendship. How they have evolved and grown over time. How Nate went from distracted, tech nerd to billionaire, distracted tech nerd 😉 I loved how neither thought the other was interested but everyone else around them knew the truth! This was the first book that I read in this series and I can’t wait to scoop up more!
I love this series and this author. Definitely read them in order if you can. All the characters are well written with tough heros and tougher heroines. Can’t wait to read the next one. I have loved all of her series. Highly recommend!!
I liked how the story linked the past and present and the characters were very real.
This book left me with a smile on my face. I loved it.
