They rule my new town, my school, and with more money than God, there’s very little out of their reach.Four gorgeous, perfect, scary boys. There used to be five, but one of them died, leaving a fifth position that I now fill. I didn’t ask for this. I didn’t want to be part of this billionaire-boys-club. But no one cares about what I want.Sebastian Beckett is the worst of them. Their leader. He … of them. Their leader. He draws me in, and strips me of every defense I have. He calls me Butterfly, but it’s not a pet name, it’s a threat. Beck wants nothing more than to break my wings, pin me to a board and watch me writhe.
He wants to see me broken. Body, heart and soul.
And what these elite want, they get.
Only they’ve never met Riley Jameson.
Let the battle begin.
This dark contemporary romance features one girl and four sexy, dangerous boys but is NOT a reverse harem.

At this point, it is a known fact that I am a sucker for “high school bully” romances. You say it involves a group of guys (high school/college) and a girl, I WILL look further into the book/series. So when I saw this book floating around Facebook, I just had to check it out. Let’s just say, it most definitely fed my high school bully loving heart. It was quick paced and easy to read. There was mystery, angst, lust, lies, power, and elite rules. And the characters…LOVED them! Beck, Dylan, Jasper and Evan, those boys…they know how to rule the school. And Riley. I LOVED her “give no f*cks” attitude. She wasn’t willing to bend to their whim for nothing. And I wasn’t annoyed by her, like some female characters I’ve read in roles like this. Riley was written with the perfect amount of defiance that I could enjoy. And then Riley and Beck together….*fans self*. I enjoyed how their attraction leapt off the page. I can’t wait to see how their relationship progresses in the next books.
I have never read these authors before, but I was pleased with their dual writing style. The story telling and writing flowed well and to me it didn’t appear obvious when one author was writing or the other. When I’m done with this series, I will have to look if there was more books written by these two together.
As far as “high school bully” romances go, this one was minimal on the bully aspect, which worked for THIS book. That fact doesn’t change my opinion, I still loved this story. But I just wanted to get that in my review in case someone is looking for an all out type of story where the bully torments their “victim”(aka the heroine) for over half the book and then things change because actual feelings become involved. That is NOT this book. The bully part is fairly short lived. I also personally wouldn’t label this as a “dark romance”, at least not at this point. Maybe in book 2 or 3, but NOT book 1. I have read far darker romances than this one.
NOTE: THIS IS A SERIES! All books MUST be read in order. We are left on a cliffy (OF COURSE!), so the anticipation for what’s to come in book is definitely there! THANK GAWD, book 2 is out because I am racing right to reading it. I need to get answers to my questions! Also, book 3 is expected to come out soon, August 2019
4 stars
I like this book.

I’m so glad that I found out about this book because I totally LOVE it!!
Riley had a simple life until now. When her adoptive parents die in a car accident, her biological mother comes forward and gets custody of her. From now on everything changes. She’s dragged into a life full of riches and comforts, but also full of lies, cruelty and conspiracy. She’s now one of the 5 heirs of the Delta Program. The other 4 heirs-Sebastian, Dylan, Jasper and Evan-are skeptical about her. There’s never been a woman heir beforeand the fact that Riley is outspoken and doesn’t take shit from anyone, complicates things more! The only person that’s good to her is Eddy, Jasper’s sister.
Sebastian is the one that catches her attention the most. He may be a controlling asshole but she’s attracted to him. The connection and loyalty between the boys is truly admirable. After an incident, she proves her loyalty to them and she finally earns their respect and a bond between them starts to form. The chemistry between Riley and Sebastian is explosive! Their every encounter is charged with sexual tension, and their passion wins at the end! With everything that’s happening, Sebastian is her safe place. I seriously despised her mother. She’s an uptight bitch, only interested in her personal gain. I wanted to punch her every time she talked to Riley like that
The ending made me both mad and sad for Riley; I seriously couldn’t believe it. She’ll never be the same after that..I’m grabing the next one asap!!!
5 stars for Broken Wings by Jaymin Eve and Tate James. This is book 1 in the Dark Legacy Series. This is my first book from these authors, and I have now become a big fan. This is a high school dark bully romance. Riley just lost her parents, and is now being shipped of to live with her birth parents who gave her up when she was a baby. This brings her to the Druics school where she comes face to face with Sebastian/Beck, Charlie, Jasper and Evan. Apparently, they rule everything, and Riley is about to find out why and what her role in all of this world is. The only person Riley has left is Dante, who has been her best friend forever.
This book will pull you in and twist up your insides as you read. Once you learn everything that is going on, you will be on the edge of your seat while reading. I am going to also call this book a thriller/suspense book. I loved every second of this book. A book that really makes you think about everything that is going on. Every page brings something different. Just when you think you know something , bam you are hit with something new. This book does end in a cliffhanger and I couldn’t wait to start the next book.
This book absolutely CONSUMED me!! I have never read anything like this before. Broken Wings is not your typical high school young adult story. No. This book is filled with darkness. Secrets. Lies. Passion. Pleasure. Pain.
Broken Wings takes you on a journey. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions. I was angry, sad, confused, and jealous!! Those boys had me drooling!!
Beck is everything you want in an alpha-hope. He’s dangerous. He’s scary. He doesn’t give two cares about anything other than his brothers.
Ethan. I haven’t quite figured out Ethan yet.
Jasper… Ohhhh, Jasper. He was one of my favorites. He was dangerous, but so arrogant.
Dylan is the quiet, danger. They are all dangerous, but Dylan just had this dark, silent vibe to him.
And, is anybody else crushing on Dante?! I mean come onnnnn!! I want to know more about him!
I really enjoyed this story. I loved everything about it. The characters (except Dibitch), the secrets, the SEX (insert drool emoji), their personalities, and the secrets and life that follows all of them. It pulled me in.
Broken Wings is such a deliciously, dangerous read that will captivate you from the very beginning!! If I could ever give a book more than 5 stars, this one would take the cake.
I really loved this book. The characters ( even though I wanted too throttle some of them at times) I enjoyed. Riley is a tough chick and I love that she doesn’t put up with any of the guys crap. I love the friendship between Riley & Dante but something tells me he might want more but Beck might have something too say about that. The ending was crazy and I definitely need the next book ASAP.
Broken Wings by Jaymin Eve and Tate James a five-star read that give you wings to fly. This is the first in the new Dark Legacy series and I am so eager for number two!! I have long loved Jaymin Eve as an author but never read Tate James and I can’t wait to go read more from her. This was a different direction to what I’m used to, but it was well done, there is the same great well-formed characters that we have come to know and love, but they have a different shine to them. The suspense and drama will keep you hooked, and the passion melts the page. What a great story and the ending!! What and ending but hurry up and release number two!!
I absolutely loved this book! Can not wait for the next in the series. Absolutely an amazing read!
I totally dug this story.
Holy Hell This Read Is Fantastic & Horrifying!!
(Read using Kindle Unlimited)
Wow, I can’t praise ‘Broken Wings’ enough. It’s a sad, exciting & dark read but then it becomes a tale of 4 young adults sticking together in extreme circumstances. This draws the 5th, the ‘outsider & new girl’, Riley, in tight to them!! Their bonds are formed, romance starts to blossom, but then it all just explodes
My heart hurts at how this book finished!! I’m in total shock & can’t see where they go from here …. Unless it’s to blow it ALL up!!! Hurry up June

These two authors are two of my favourite authors. I love both of their writing styles, though I think they’re both pretty distinct. So, when this literary love fest was announced I was beyond excited. I had some reservations, as it’s not reverse harem. That’s said, it’s dark, in the vein of a bully romance (what I was in the mood for), and, let’s be honest, as far as I’ve read, there’s nothing either of these authors don’t write well.
I was not disappointed. I love this story. From a character view point, there are times when you don’t know how to feel for the MMCs in this book. You both want to hit them and hug them, among other things. Even though they’re the privileged set, insight into their lives proves that it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. Then, you have Riley. Feisty, loyal, intelligent, backbone of steel. She’s my favourite character. She’s been through the ringer and finds herself in a situation that she doesn’t much know what to do with, and there are a LOT of questions about how she ended up there and who she can trust. Throw in a fast-paced timeline, high pressure situations, and a twist at the end. Lawd, the twist at the end. Holy bejeebers. Dead, I was dead. It was thrilling, entertaining, and I genuinely forgot I was reading while I read this. Can’t wait for book 2.
What did I just read and I want the next book already! OMG! This book was recommended by so many people on one of my book groups so I jumped right in. I was lost in this story right from the start and I can’t seem to unwrap my mind from it.
Riley Jameson loses her parents in a tragic car accident only to have her birth parents come out of the woodwork and claim her. She moves with them into a mansion, to attend school in an elite academy of rich, preppy entitled trust fund kids.
There are four boys who rule the school. Beck, Jasper, Dylan, and Evan. The ground they walk on is worshipped by students and staff. They’re part of an elite club and for some reason, they plan to put Riley into their special group. They have an open slot for her. But she has other plans, in 2 months she’ll be 18 and out of this place. Her birth parents will have no control over her. Or will they? And the boys, they are loyal to their band. She is one of them. She is drawn to Beck. They are loyal to her. Or are they?
There is a lot more going on here than meets the eye. What happened to her brother? Who exactly are Delta? What about her parents? Was the accident truly an accident? Who can she trust?
This book flips you all around like an amusement ride and scrambles your brain like a puzzle. But just when you think you have things figured out, a few pieces change and you are as confused as you were before! Then you are left with a mind boggling cliffhanger and have to wait for the next book!!! I love it!!! I want the next book now!!! I am confused as a rabbit in a maze! Amazing read!!
Okay, I have read both of these author’s works individually and loved it. So, when I heard that these two went and co-wrote a book, I am beyond stoked to read it. Now that I’ve finished reading it, I don’t know what to say. I am stumped for words but I will try to write a coherent review.
All through my reading, I felt that if The Elite Kings and Kiss Her Goodbye series were to have a baby, this book will be the product. Although, I can say that this one is a bit tamer than the other two. I quite expected that ending and that’s why I will continue to read this series to know how the authors will redeem the boys (because that was quite a betrayal!).
Overall, I truly enjoyed this book and will patiently wait for the next installment.
Dark, twisted grab you by the seat of your pants! This book wouldnt let me go! I freaking loved it. Its has all the angst that you can ask for in a dark book. No doubt that the next one will be devoured just as fast as i did this one.
Honestly this is one of the best books I’ve ever read. Top 3 and I’ve read a lot of books. This book is so intriguing. You won’t be able to put it down. Very unpredictable I can’t wait to see what happens next!
OMG, I’m speechless!!! … Never thought I could love a non paranormal/fantasy book this much, but this book is totally AMAZING!!! … I’m a slow reader and it took me just a day to read this book, just stopping to eat and pee (damn body)… I can’t even find the correct words to describe how I felt right now… the MC are awesome, love them all, mainly Riley and Beck, OMG that chemistry, HOT!!!… their life is so perfect, or so that seems to be… what really happens behind their doors???… a world full of lies, appearances, betrayal, fear, danger, rule by money and power… will Riley survive???, can her hearth take any more???… be ready for the worst cliffhanger of your live, but totally worth it!!!
I loved this book. But I think the ending broke something within me. I saw it coming, knew it was going to happen the entire book but I was hoping the outcome would be different. That’s not to say that I didn’t like this book because I did. I will be reading the next book because I want to see this Riley woman up and tear. it. up.
Overall: 4/5
“Broken Wings” by Jaymin Eve and Tate James has left me speechless and wanting more. I have never been so desperate for the next book before. I am usually patient for books but this will be hard to wait for. Amazing book!! Riley the main character is full of awesome sass and she definitely holds her own against the billionaire-boys-club, Sebastian (Beck), Dylan, Evan, & Jasper. The character building is well done in this book and you feel like your part of Riley’s life having these relationships along with her. As stated above I’m highly looking forward to the rest of the series, Dark Legacy. Due note that this is dark romance and it will contain dark issues.
