Let the battle begin.
This dark contemporary romance features one girl and four sexy, dangerous boys but is NOT a reverse harem.

LOVE this series so much. Great worldbuilding, suspenseful plot, tons of hot guys, fab character development, and a kickass MC in Riley. What’s not to love?
OMG i need Broken Trust ASAP. Why do it have to end like this!!!! I just can’t…. Need to read this one again and i need a new manicure too;)- Good job ladies you’re the best!!
Love love love this new side of Jaymin’s writing. Devoured this book in one sitting. Highly recommend this read!!
Jaymin Eve has always been one of those authors that I always come back to, add in Tate James and you have a recipe for one amazing story. These two ladies do a phenomenal job with this story. There is so much angst, 4 super sexy harasses (not a RH) and a Denali main character who bites back! I love Riley, that girl is just amazing!
This audiobook is one of my favorites! Marnye Young & Jarred Kjack do such an amazing job with the story. I love how Jarred comes in and does the voices of all the guys when they speak, yummy voice that one has.
My Rating:
Type: Series –book 1
Genre: Contemporary Fiction Romance, YA,
Primary Characters: Sebastian Beck, Riley, Dylan, Jasper, Evan
Narration: Single POV
This book was suggested to me by several other fellow book bloggers in several reading groups. I was skeptical as I had read one more series from Tate James and didn’t like it much. But this series is much better. I binge read and completed the series in one shot.
This centred around Riley who is about to be turning 18, lost her parents and her life is turning immediately upside down when her biological parents are claiming her. She finds herself inhabiting a whole new world one filled with privilege riches and danger. She is there to fulfil a darker purpose one that will send her spinning headlong into danger.
Four boys have set their eyes on her and are ready to break her. Beck, Jasper, Evan and Dylan exude danger and don’t want her in their group, but they are pushed in corner when she was bought in. They try to push her out but she penetrates their inner circle and tries to becomes one of them soon. Beck will be more involved with her than other boys. With betrayal, lies, deceit all around her, she isn’t sure whom to trust.
The writing style is good and I loved the action and fast pace of the book. I was hoping to see more of her driving skills come in use, which didn’t happen in book1. Dante and Eddy as friends were awesome. Storyline is fantastic, characters had depth and that cliffhanger had me anxious.
Overall, it was thrilling entertainer and a wonderful start to series. We get more answers on Delta Corporation and heirs role in that in next books.

Holy crap. I am literally in shock. Holy crap, this is a seriously amazing, dark, slightly twisted and definitely sexy read. I was more than excited to read this book, I mean two insanely talented, creative and awesome writers working together! Tate James and Jaymin Eve are both well seasoned and completely adored in all the readers groups I’m involved in. Not to mention I’ve read most of their works and love both of their writing styles, I was definitely excited to lay eyes on this project! I LOVED it!! Riley is an amazingly strong character, with depth and emotion. Beck is yummy, dark, dangerous and mysterious as hell. The Delta Heirs are all sexy, mysterious, deadly and have no choices. This read is full of action, intrigue, mystery, sexy men and betrayal at every turn. The writing is fantastic, characters amazing, the attention to detail throughout the whole story arc was great, I was sucked into the story instantly and could not put it down! And that freakin ending… speechlessly, breathlessly, thoughtlessly, shocked! I HIGHLY recommend this read to anyone that enjoys a bit of the dark and dangerous with their romance reads. Can’t wait to get my hands on book two! s with their romance reads. Can’t wait to get my hands on book two!
I got the audiobooks of this series to refresh my brain before Dylan came out in December and I thought the narrators did a fabulous job! I totally thought Marnye did her homework and really got into character and brought Butterfly to life! Her performance, emotions, inflections were just how I imagined while reading, no constructive feedback from me this time, 5 stars. I think Jarred did a great job as well 4-4.5 stars from me with some of the guys and their emotions in this book, but it was kinda tough when the guys were very closed off (on purpose with the storyline). I will say Jarred improved as the series got on so by book 3 they were both easily 5 stars and added to my awesome narrator list.
For the storyline, I enjoy Jaymin and Tate as a writing duo. I think they really feed off each other well, bringing the best out of each other. I think Jaymin’s writing leans more toward YA sometimes so Tate’s more adult and steamier writing helped elevate the sexy and high-tensioned scenes (holy moly man, the chemistry already in book 1 ). I think Jaymin helps Tate create more in-depth character development (not saying Tate didnt do this before), I just think Jaymin really helps make an intricate story and relationship levels if that makes sense haha.
I am always hesitant when picking up bully romances because I was bullied as a kid but this one wasn’t as bad as some I have read/listened to. I also don’t always read M/F but definitely enjoyed this one that I didnt mind at all. It made sense to not make it RH with how territorial Beck is haha. I like the mystery evil empire and guy clique trope, the authors do a great job setting the stage for the rest of the series in Broken Wings. I loved the side characters (except the evil parents haha) and was intrigued to see how Beck and Riley could get over their actions and decisions with each other. I was totally team Dante in book 1 but thought he was super fishy in terms of Riley’s mom with the phone number thing haha. This book keeps you on your toes and I liked the car racing aspect (my dad used to work on and then race them so it was cool to talk to him about some of the things mentioned in this series). I also thought the heartache was so real sometimes, I had to stop listening and collect myself. This happened mores in the other books, but the scenes with Riley in the hospital were devastating and felt so real! True testament to the writing and narration being a perfect meld.
Without giving away anything, I definitely recommend this series and loved each book as they went along (will explain in those reviews next haha). Let me just say I am so happy Dylan got his own story and I am dyingggg for the other guys to get theres. Great job Tate and Jaymin
Holy Batman this was good like seriously addictive what a page-turner this was I’m seriously impressed and can’t wait to read the next book in this series like yesterday.
So after Riley’s parents are killed in a car-crash she finds herself inhabiting a whole new world one filled with privilege riches and danger.
Adopted at birth Riley knows nothing of her origins and now this long lost family has resurfaced out of the woodwork to welcome her back into there fold.
Not out of any grand feeling of kindness or love but to fulfil a darker purpose one that will send her spinning headlong into danger.
Attending the prestigious Ducis academy Riley feels a fish out of water.
The whole town and academy are ruled by five founding family’s and there reach is on a global scale.
Beck, Evan, Jasper and Dylan are the heirs to Delta a global power and Riley is the fifth heir brought into the fold to replace her deceased brother.
This was intense and had so much chemistry, Not just Beck and Riley who actually set the pages alight with there heat but also all the other forming bonds and friendships.
It also had some great secondary characters like Riley’s friend Eddy and Dante her bestie from her past and though the boys were initially very hostile towards Riley I liked how they started to mellow she totally managed to alter the dynamic with her arrival and they became very protective over her fairly quickly.
But just when things seemed on the up for our girl we get given that explosive finish and that finale oh man what a shocker that was, my heart was literally in my mouth.
Poor Riley she feels so betrayed and I can’t see her forgiving anyone anytime soon.
I wanted to seriously annihilate certain individuals for sure.
Can’t wait to see how they all come back from this, I’m so invested now and can’t wait to watch how it all unfolds this really was such a fantastic read and a great start to the series.

‘Broken Wings’ is book one in the co-authored series Dark Legacy written by Jaymin Eve and Tate James. I love both these authors so I couldn’t go past the opportunity to read something that they wrote together.
Going in I had no idea what was to be expected from this book, the synopsis intrigued me. I was not disappointed! I even got my husband to listen to the audiobook, which he doesn’t listen to books that ain’t MC themed. (He enjoyed it.)
Riley recently lost her parents in a car accident, now her birth parents want her back. Having no choice but to go with her birth mum, Riley is put in the middle of a world she does not fit in, surrounded by spoilt, rich, egotistical, pretentious males. Sebastian (Beck), Dylan, Jasper and Evan are the Delta boys, the ones that all the males want to be and the guys all the girls want to be with. The Delta boys rule Ducis Academy and everyone in the town. But there is much more behind the Delta boys and Riley is going to find out the hard way, and the real reason behind her being brought to the Deboise Estate.
I really enjoyed reading about Riley and the Delta boys. Riley is a strong kicka** chick that is willing to stand up for herself and the ones she calls family. She doesn’t obey just because she is female and the males tell her to do something. The Delta boys are each unique and wonderful characters, each bring something different to the groups dynamic. Although Riley’s life was turned upside down after her parents crash, she makes new friends in the town and finds her way quickly in the new world she is in.
Now it’s hard to praise or comment on how wonderful this book is without giving away spoilers so I’m only going to say, get this book and read it for yourself and see what I’m talking about. But FYI this is a big cliffhanger so make sure to have book two ready to go.
Another great book by Tate James and my first book by Jaymin Eve!! I love this world you’ve both created! Riley does not get one moment of peace, my heart hurts for her! These boys though…Sebastian is such an alphahole and possessive…I LOVE it! Thank god I have book 2, that cliffhanger was heartbreaking & harsh as hell! Great job!
Broken Wings is an intense and a little twisted story. Also, very steamy and with so much heat. Broken Wings is full of feels. Tate James, author, is a very fantastic writer who can spin a story with lots of feels, heat, and lots of surprises. Broken Wings has lots of twist, turns, things going left, and can leave your mind spinning while keeping you so engaged that you won’t be able to put down or have any distractions that pulls you away from reading it. Tate is one of my new fave authors after reading and listening to Broken Wings and The Madison Kate series. Tate is able to capture and keep your attention from the first page to the last. I am so happy that I don’t have to wait for the next book in the series, Broken Trust. Broken Wings is the premier of Dark Legacies series with the next two books already out. Dylan is the fourth book and is not out yet and I am hoping it won’t be too long before coming out. I highly recommend the whole Dark Legacies series and The Madison Kate series. There are some trigger warnings that should be heeded. Although, it’s not too bad in Broken Wings as some other dark romances. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
I absolutely love this author! She never fails to draw you in and keep you engaged. After reading this book I knew this series was going to be on my list of favorites.
“Broken Wings: A Dark High School Romance” (Dark Legacy Book 1) by Jaymin Eve and Tate James was the first book I read from these authors, and I can’t wait to read the rest of Dark Legacy Series. A warning for those that cannot read about abuse, violence, bullying, and like the tittle says a dark romance. The story plot is a good one, one I have not come across, and you just cannot help wanting to see where the author will take you on. You can totally see how a discarded unwanted child from the one percenter be drag back to that type of life for their gain. But there is more to the story that keeps you wanting more. The secret agendas from the parents and what the kids are having to do. You can read what the main female character Riley not only is going through and how she feels the lost of her adopted parents. The strength that Riley shows not to forget who she really is in her new life. Then you have the group of the elite billionaire boy club that become possessive over Riley and her childhood friend that feels like he needs to keep her safe. You have two alpha males fighting for her. Makes you think what is really going on there. As well of all the side stories from each of the male characters and their home life that makes you want to keep reading.
This was such an awesome and steamy book! A must read! You will not regret reading this book.
***4,5 “Butterfly!!! stars***
“It’s smart to always remember, Butterfly… money corrupts everything.”
OMG!!! This story was soooo good!!! I loved it and i can not wait for the rest of the books!!!
The truth is that i had no idea about this book until i stepped upon it on instagram and i thought so… Why not??? It sounds like something that i would read and thank God that i got impulsive and dove in it!!!! It was AWESOME!!!! Even though unrealistic in some parts!!! But still… AWESOME!!!
If you have read Boys of Brayshaw High, then you’re gonna enjoyed this book too!!!
“It was the five of us against the world.”
Riley Jameson just lost her parents and her life is turning immediately upside down when her biological parents are claiming her…
And from that moment, a shit storm is coming on her way in the form of a bitch mother, a powerful organization and four cocky, rich, gorgeous assholes that didn’t leave her in peace!!!
And the worst of them all is their leader, Sebastian Beckett!!!
“It was all about perspective. I really couldn’t give a fuck what a bunch of rich kids thought about me. What did I have to lose now?”
“Fucking hell, why are the hot ones always psychopaths?”
Well, Riley is founding herself in difficult and scary positions all the time from the moment that she stepped in this area!!! The boys are having their eyes upon her all the time and they are determined to break her…
But Riley is a tough kid and she is giving hell back and after a while, she is becoming a part of them, even if she didn’t want to had anything to do with them…
Or did she???
“We’re going to enjoy breaking you, princess.. All that pretty skin. Those bright blue eyes. When we’re done with you, there won’t be a piece of you untouched.”
No, don’t get confused!!! It’s not a reverse harem story this one!!!
Yep, Riley will get attached to all of them… Dylan, Evan, Jasper… But her heart is being claimed by the worst of them all… Beck!!!
Riley is drown to him since day one… He is getting under her skin all the time, but the things that are standing between them are too many… Money and power are the worst of them all and an Elite that had planned their fate for far too long ago…
“I needed that lesson. To learn to protect myself, because if there was one thing I knew about the heirs of Delta, they now had the power to really hurt me. I couldn’t let that happen. I had such little left in my life, if I lost one more thing…
I wasn’t sure I’d survive.”
So, what will happen in here after all???
Will Riley fit in with the rest of the crew??? And for how long before shits will hit the fan???
Will Beck make her a priority or Delta will be always his priority???
And what the hell is really happening in there???
Too many secrets, lies and betrayals are lying in the air and i need some freakin’ answers ASAP!!!!
What will happen after that awfully ending in here??
“Our world… it’s filled with secrets…
And we all have to play the game.”
I loved Riley soooo much!!!
She was a girl with personality and a badass attitude!!! She loved racing… It was a part of her and she was actually a butterfly… Free in her spirit… And she couldn’t be caged!!!
I know that she is destined to greatness and i know that she will find her way after all…
And her love and caring for the guys was so beautiful!!! Of course, her relationship with Sebastian was different and very intense!!! But there is actually a hope for these two???
“Fuck you, Sebastian Beckett… I wouldn’t touch you with a ten foot pole. No pretty exterior is worth the rotten interior. Call me crazy but I have standards.”
“You really think so, Butterfly? You want to tell me you don’t feel this magnetic pull between us? That sexual tension that just keeps fucking building every time we’re near? That’s all in my head, is it?”
“I just lost my mind whenever he was close by, and no matter how much of an asshole he was… how much he scared a part of me… a larger part was addicted to the rush in my blood when he was near.”
I loved Sebastian as well!!!
He was tempered, cocky, wild, gorgeous and soooo skilled….
I think that Sebastian has a very heavy load upon his shoulders and that’s the reason that he can’t be as open as he wants with Riley…
I also believe that he has real feelings for her, but Delta will always standing in their way… Unless, they will do something for that!!!
“What are you doing?”
“I don’t fucking know! You’re just everywhere. In my fucking head. I can’t… I need to stop. This is not a world that works with…”
He waved a hand between us.
“Then stay away from me, Beck.”
“That’s the thing, I’ve tried…”
I barely heard those worlds and then he spun on his hell and was back in his car.”
“I keep pushing you away, hoping you’d hate me. That you’d stay away, because being near me is a death sentence… But you’re a part of this, whether we like it or not. So, maybe instead of pushing you away, I should hold you tighter.”
As for the rest of the guys??? God, i loved them all!!!
Dylan was always sooo serious and deadly… But he had a heart of gold…
Jasper was sooo funny and silly…. He was the most approachable of them all..
As for Evan??? I disliked him for the “spare” comment, but he had proven himself…
The truth is that i would love to read their stories too!!! I’m sure that they could be really interesting…
“Beck was their leader, their fury, their fear. But Dylan was their heart. Loyal. Lethal. And… lonely.
“You think Beck could hurt me?”
“There are many different ways to hurt someone. And some are harder to recover from.”
“We have everything in the world that money can buy… But this…” He gestured to the four of us. “This is what money can’t touch. This is the only important thing we have.”
Also in here, i liked very much Dante and Eddy…
I think that Dante is a little bit shaddy, but still… I liked him very much and i’m waited to find more about his role in all of that, because i”m sure that there are more to him!!!
Of course, i hated Riley’s biological mother and i don’t trust her a bit!!!
Also the guys’s fathers sucked!!!!
I also need some fuckin’ answers about Oscar’s death!!! I’m positive that Riley’s appearance in Delta wasn’t sooo accidentally after all!!!!
Well… I need the next book as you can realize… Especially aftert that damn cliffy!!!
“No one was my friend here. I’d given my trust to the heirs, and they had betrayed me. I’d given my heart to Beck, and he had smashed it into a million fucking pieces…”
Nothing really prepared me for this story. The cover, the title, even the blrub and I was not ready. This story was dark and deviant in a highschool/college bully way. It is WAY more then that though. I don’t want to spoil is because half the fun was discovering as I read.
I will say that I have tried three seperate times to read this, not getting past the first 12%. I pushed through and then proceeded to devour the story in one sitting. It has everything I look for in these reads. I will subtract a half a star because there were a couple of places that dragged on a bit too much and I found myself skimming. Overall very impressed and looking forward to then next! 4.5 stars.
Two authors have done a wonderful job with this book.
Hot guys,anger, rage,dark, adventure,cry,betrayal,
secrets and contemporary,emotional, ,fast cars,unexpected.
This is a good description of a good book.
The characters are interesting in this book, they all love it.
Although at the end of the book such a turn,
and I don’t know what to expect from the next book.
Anyway, I recommend reading it and you won’t regret it.
Thank you, Authors!
Riley is such a bad chick!! She finds herself alone after her parents death just to be inserted into a life of money, death and betrayal. She spends her time trying to adjust and figure out life while she grieves. Her love interest Beck seems so hot but has so many dark secrets that it is hot and scary for her the whole time. Great suspenseful ending!!!
My friends have been telling me I need to read this! The trilogy is complete so I buckled down and started bingeing!
WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG!!!!
My heart aches for Riley, still aches! The tragedy she went through combined with being thrust into a life she didn’t know, want or was prepared for!
Beck!!! I have no words except that he infuriates me almost as much as he gets me all hot and bothered!
The writing was fantastic and captivating! Combine that with one heck of a character list, these guys are definitely guys you want on your side and not against you!
Eddy and Dante, such amazing best friends!
I loved Riley’s kick-butt attitude! Such a strong female; I love how she doesn’t NEED anyone but she realizes she wants them instead!
That ending! Wow! I’m not even sure who all is involved on whose side at this point!
I’ve already started book 2 and can’t wait to see how everything works out after the ending to book 1.
I love when a book has a mixture of mystery, romance, and suspense. I especially loved the character development in this book and fell in love with Sebastion and Riley.
