This is another great story in the Sleeper Seals series. It is well written and has strong characters, drama, danger, intensity, and love. The suspense and twist will keep you turning pages. I definitely recommend this book.. both as a stand-alone and as part of this fabulous series. I really enjoyed reading this story.
I have to say each and every book in this series has captivated me from the very first page. This one is no exception.
Garrett is charged with finding and rescuing Dr. Haley Kingston, his ex. She’s been taken by terrorists to provide medical care to their severely wounded leader.
Now there are many reasons why he shouldn’t take this on, but the important reason he should is because he’s the best one for the job.
We learn a lot in the first few chapters of this book, a botched bombing at the airport, the injured terrorist, the kidnapped doctor, a murdered witness and the clearly out of the loop FBI.
The agents in charge of this case join forces with Garrett and with the help of his Falcon connections are able to find and secure Haley.
Unfortunately they end up in a dangerous game of cat and mouse, as Garrett endeavors to keep her away from the terrorists.
It seems every time they turn around the bad guys are there, Garrett needs to get her some where safe so he and the others can figure out what the terrorists true plan is.
Plenty of twists and turns as they race to win this deadly game.
Scary, realistic, frustrating and action packed.
I have decided I need to read Geri’s Falcon series to get to know some of the players in this one better.
Lots of action, suspense and intrigue wrapped with drama and second chance romance. Garret was a burnt out Navy SEAL and now worked for a security firm (Falcon Securities) and loved his job. He was a strong, dependable, dedicated man who loved serving his country and would gladly put everything on the line to protect it and those he cares for. When he receives an assignment from his boss and the head of the counter-terrorism division, he is all ears. When he learns it is more than just terrorists, but involves his ex (whom he still cares for deeply) who was kidnapped by said terrorists, he is all in. He will get her back and unravel the plot behind the kidnapping whatever it takes.
There is a lot of drama unwinding between Garrett and Haley on their journey to the truth behind her kidnapping and the terrorist plot. A lot of rehashed memories, old pains, unresolved feelings and conversations and a hope for a new start. There are several twists and turns that keeps you guessing throughout the story and will hold your interest. There are lots of bad guys to sort through and a few shocking surprises thrown in along the way as well. I enjoyed the interaction and dialogue between Garrett and his team and the action throughout the story, it was fast paced and continuous and held my interest. The only thing I did not truly enjoy in this book was Haley. She rubbed me the wrong way and I just could not relate to her. She seemed self-centered and selfish and determined to constantly open old wounds and make Garrett feel bad even after he had saved her life and was continuing to protect her. She just seemed childish and ungrateful, still demanding everything from him and not willing to give anything in return. However, aside from her, I did find this to be an enjoyable read. *I voluntarily read/reviewed an ARC of this book.
