“This generation’s Cruel Intentions.” Jennifer L. Armentrout, #1 New York Times Bestselling Author
These Royals will ruin you…
From wharf fights and school brawls to crumbling lives inside glittery mansions, one guy tries to save himself.
Reed Royal has it all—looks, status, money. The girls at his elite prep school line up to date him, the guys want to be him, but Reed never gave a damn … Reed never gave a damn about anyone but his family until Ella Harper walked into his life.
What started off as burning resentment and the need to make his father’s new ward suffer turned into something else entirely—keep Ella close. Keep Ella safe. But when one foolish mistake drives her out of Reed’s arms and brings chaos to the Royal household, Reed’s entire world begins to fall apart around him.
Ella doesn’t want him anymore. She says they’ll only destroy each other.
She might be right.
Secrets. Betrayal. Enemies. It’s like nothing Reed has ever dealt with before, and if he’s going to win back his princess, he’ll need to prove himself Royally worthy.

Gosh I don’t know what to think anymore and it seems my brain can’t stop thinking about this series! I just read the first one and I seriously can’t get enough of this series. It’s like an addiction you can’t seem to escape! You just want to read more and more and know what will happen next! I’m just glad I dive right into the next one in this series as this one, again, ended on a cliffhanger…
Ella has disappeared and can’t be found but Callum and especially Reed is trying everything in his power to find her again. With her being gone, everything around Reed seems to fall apart and he begins to see what she truly means, not only to himself, but to the family. After what seems forever they finally get her back but she doesn’t want anything to do with him anymore, especially not after everything that has happened. But Reed will do whatever it takes to make everything right again and make her see how special she truly is. Will he be able to restore whatever they had going?… Or will everything be falling apart even more?…
The first few chapters were INTENSE!
Then, it petered out to an Ella/Reed will they won’t they (get back together), which, of course, we all knew they would, so the story got kinda boring. Also, I hated how much of a bully Reed was in this book.
But the shocking ending did a wonderful job at hooking my interest once again.
This series is so dang good! I am so invested in the characters and the storyline and find it impossible to put down. The audiobook is also fantastic. The Narrators do an absolutely amazing job. I cannot wait for the next book!
I loved the Paper Princess and pretty much started reading Broken Prince right after I finished reading the first book. How could I not, when the author left us with a cliffhanger like that?! The second book was almost as good as the first one, though it did make me a lot more frustrated. What did make this book better than the first one was the dual POV, I loved reading what Reed is thinking. And damn, that ending! Did not expect that to happen!
A broken read!
From wharf fights and school brawls to crumbling lives inside glittery mansions, one guy tries to save himself…
A stunning and addicting following up to the first book. What a ride – that ending! I’m so glad I have all the books and not waiting months for it because after that cliffhanger ending, I cannot wait to read the next book.
Wickedly clever writing. Wickedly devious story and characters.
Full of secrets, betrayal, enemies, friends, family, trust, hurt and love.
Perfect for readers of contemporary romances.

This series is fantastic! I was just as engrossed by this book as I was the first book. Probably even more so. This series is more addicting than caffeine. If I could bottle its essence and sell it then I would be set for life.
Forget everything you know about a good plot. This book will redefine plot for you. I hardly have words for how the plot in this story thickens in this book. It’s almost magical. The drama factor keeps on working in this book. As I said in my review for Paper Princess, the drama in this book is entirely believable where it can come across as far-fetched or juvenile in other books. I don’t know what kind of magical plot-constructing glue the author uses to bring the story together, but it sure as hell works. The storytelling is riveting and you will not want to put this book down.
The world-building is just as fantastic in this book as it was in Paper Princess. I truly felt like I was right in the middle of this posh world rubbing elbows with all of the bratty rich kids. The details really made it easy for me to live through the main character’s shoes.
The characters in this series are truly magnificent and they get even better in this book. They have so much depth and character growth. I love how each character can stand on their own. They don’t have to be a part of a crowd to feel significant to the story. The characters have flaws and they have their own demons that come across in the story. There are no “perfect” characters. The characters are real and they feel real. The chemistry between the characters is explosive and just as addicting as the plot. The way that the characters interact and speak to each other will give you goosebumps. You will love every moment of it and continually crave more.
I don’t know how it is possible, but the romance gets soo much better in this book! There is a complete 180-degree turn in the romance. The hate-to-love romance that I loved in the first book gets a repeat, though different now since they’ve loved before and since the guy is trying to atone for his actions in the first book and convince the girl to love him again. The hate-to-love dynamic is still there and it totally works, OMG it works! I loved the progression and development of the romance in this book. There is more emotion and the relationship actually grows through all of the struggles that the characters go through in the story.
Overall, I had no idea that this series could get inherently better than the first book, but I am sure glad that it did! I was so very impressed with the storytelling in this book and it really does add a great deal to the series as a whole. I already have my copy of the third book, Twisted Palace, and I will be starting that once this review is posted. Again, I feel the need to put it out there that this series may be about teenagers in high school but it is written like a new adult book. There are very adult things going on and there are some serious themes and content included in the story. If you are not comfortable with sensitive issues then this may not be the best-suited book series for you. Otherwise, I definitely recommend this book and the series. If you want to read something that will grab your attention and keep the suspense coursing through your veins then pick up this series and have a go!
This is one of those books that I almost rated really low, until that last chapter. Most of the book, I was just there, not really in to it. I thought it was getting really repetitious. Then about 2/3 of the way through, it got better, I was leaning towards a strong 3 stars. But that ending! Those twists! I cannot wait to jump into book 3
READ AND REVIEWED AUGUST 2016
Was that for real? Seriously? WTF!
Okay.. So.. remember when Ella ran away from the Royal palace in the first book? Oh gosh. The Royals were at their wits’ end, sending them in a frenzy and fighting against each other until Ella came back. Easton was the most affected but it was Reed who almost got his head fired up to the roof.
When Ella returned, things no longer were what they seemed. She saw through everyone’s lies, she trusted no one, she tried hard to steer clear of Reed but her heart couldn’t be trusted. And strangely so, even the one guy I myself liked (Gideon, I’m talking to you) wasn’t really the guy I should be rooting for. Sheesh! How could you, Gid?!
Soon Ella realized that what screwed her up most when she got away were the pictures engraved in her head, the images that she believed to be true, instead of opening her eyes to what was real and possible. Couldn’t blame the girl for mistrusting, misbehaving, even mistreating the one man who stood up for her and cared for her.
But what really got to her, to me and to all the readers of these damn good book, was the surprise of all surprises. Oh gosh, that explosive ending! That cliffhanger was dope! My kids had to cover their ears when they heard me swore. As in seriously, WTF!
Mind-blowing, exhilarating, completely supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. Wow! I have no other words! Can I read Book 3 now please? Attention: Erin Watt, a.k.a Elle Kennedy/Jen Frederick, you better pull October really soon! Love you and the world you created. I am definitely royally ruined, thanks to you
As I continue on with this series, I’m even more drawn in. I loved reading more of the story from Reed’s perspective. It’s interesting to see how Reed and Easton change and grow with Ella in their life. I would love to see the twins and Gideon getting to know her better.
The ending of this book is full of shocks and cliff hangers, so you’re going to want to have the third book handy when you’re getting near the end. Thankfully, I had already checked it out of my local library, so I’m ready to go!
I’m very anxious to see what ends up happening with Reed and Ella, but I’m also eager to see if the series ends up branching off and letting us into the lives of the other Royal brothers. I’m reminded a bit of Siobhan Davis’ Kennedy Boys series and hope this goes in a similar path, letting us into each of their lives and relationships. I would even love to see a story about Val and if she finds her happiness again.
One thing is for certain, this author sure knows how to end the book on a high note.
Book two in the Royals series, this book picks up right where the last book left off. I found it to be a little bit repetitive in some aspects, such as the many times it reiterated why Ella shouldn’t believe Reed and his apologies because her mother always had such a bad habit of believing the dumb lies her loser boyfriends would give her all the time. It was drilled in so much that when Ella finally did relent to Reed’s apologies, it almost felt like a betrayal to herself and her mother’s memory, which I’m pretty sure was not supposed to be what I felt at that moment. It was bittersweet, indeed, because I did, in fact, want her to finally forgive him.
I also was a little bored by the lengthy party scenes. But what I was NOT bored with was Callum Royal finally arriving to the party in this book! I have to admit, I was totally digging on Daddy Royal in several scenes of this book, and let’s face it, he’s way more my age than these Reed Brothers anyway, so I’m totally ok with that. 😉
We got to see the protective side of Reed in this book, which was pretty sexy. And good for him because those kids at this uppity prep school are freaking horrible.
Lots to love about this book, and definitely will carry on to the next. Um, how can I not with the two bombs… yes, that’s right… TWO bombs dropped on us right at the end. Wowza!
No no no no no……..why do I do this to myself finished reading Broken Prince and just sitting here taking it all in.
1. I can’t believe finished it 🙁
2. Can’t believe we have to wait until October for Twisted Palace
3. Holy shit balls absolutely f**king loved this book. This series has to be one of my all time favs and it hasn’t finished yet.
I love the main characters Ella and Reed and even the whole royal family they are so awesome.
There are secrets, dirty talk, manipulation, angst, humour this book has everything and you not want to put it down. I could start reading this all again now.
If u haven’t started this series even if you don’t’ like cliffhangers or waiting for the next book in the series you have to do it, you need the break to take in the books and get over them so you are all ready for the next 5+ stars this book deserves so much more
“My instincts had screamed at me that she was trouble. My instincts were wrong. She wasn’t trouble. I was. Still am.”
The heady force that is Reed Royal continues and left me breathless…at times I forgot this guy is a High School Student because his presence is larger than life. Twists, turns, hotness just overflowed my kindle and kept me rooted to my seat until I reached THE END. It was a fun, intense, addictive romp through the ethereal world the Author created and I couldn’t get enough!!
“…my heart flips in memory of how he filled the cracks in my heart with affection and warmth that I hadn’t even realized I needed in my life.”
Enemies to lovers on steroids has now become an attraction so deep, it transcended all that crossed their paths. The Royal family is chock full of my favorite kinds of alphas, all with their broken, bent, damaged hearts laid wide open for the reader to explore. I laughed, I yelled at all the angsty happenings, cheered at the formidable team they all made, it was just an adventure to read!!
“He keeps drawing me in with his addictive kisses and his strength and the vulnerability he’s stopped trying to hide from me.”

NO NO NO!!!!! That is not where you leave it!!!! Gahhhhh
The Royals have seriously ruined me. I was up till two reading and then finished it this morning.
Reed is kicking ass and taking names.
Ella is finding herself and learning how to handle her new reality.
The twins? Easton? Gideon? They are all hurting and lost. Trying to find their way.
Callum. I think I like him after this book. He was ok in Paper Princess but now he has finally gotten my approval.
I love this family and I don’t think I’ll ever get enough. It takes a lot for me to like a book with high school kids as the age range of the characters. But this story has sucked me in and won’t let go. I hit 94% and it took everything I had to finish this book. I knew that cliff was coming and I was excited and terrified all at the same time. So as I crept to the edge, there was nothing and I mean NOT.A.THING. that could of prepared me for that ending.
I love that Ella is written as strong and confident. That’s probably 90% of why I like this YA book. I can’t do whiney teenage girls. Just a shout out to the authors for that. *fist bump*
Drama, humor, swooning and more. Broken Prince has lived up to the wait and now I’m on the edge of the cliff waiting for more.
Ain’t no drama like The Royals drama cause The Royals drama don’t stop!
Would you like an extra side of drama with your drama?! Ahhhhh, I just can’t get enough of this family! Damn, another great one. For reals.
Just when you think there couldn’t be anything else that could possibly happen, because you’re kinda tapped out on the shit storm that is their life….there’s more! Whaaaa?! Some people just don’t want or care for high school crap, because come on, we’re adults and high school was so like 20 years ago (for some). But not this girl. Bring it. Bring all of it. My fake world loves it! Loves it hard. I’m 100% invested in this dysfunctional family and I care about all of them. And that my friends, to me, is outstanding writing! I’m rooting for this family that is pretty much based on lies, secrets and betrayals. But now they need to pull a 3 Musketeers “All for one and one for all, united we stand divided we fall” because its going down for real.
Holy shizzle, October needs to get here a-sapy. This momma is hooked!
After finishing book one that ended with a huge cliffhanger, I immediately started reading this book. I just had to know what happened next with Ella and Reed. In this book ‘Broken prince’ we get both POV’s. Something I’m glad about, especially after the huge ending of the first book. The story starts with Reed’s POV of that night. Because of Reed’s POV we don’t only get to know him better but also his relationship with his brothers and his relationship with his mother and father. Just like the first book, I really enjoyed and liked the story. I’m still a huge fan of Ella, I loved the fact that she stays true to herself. And Reed, well Reed is still the perfect bad guy who really wants to be good for Ella. The storyline was in the same way like the first book and again the story ends with a huge cliffhanger.
I must confess that I didn’t saw it coming, it took me with surprise (and I like that very much).
So now… up to book 3 in this series.
“I’m done playing games, Ella. No other girls exist in the world for me. If you see me talking to one, know that I’m talking about you. If you see me walking next to someone, I’m wishing it was you … You’re the only one for me.”
Man oh man! These Royals are becoming my new obsession. I really wanted to take my time reading this book but I couldn’t put this damn book down!! This family just gets more messed up as you keep reading, in a good way though. There are so many twist that I could barely keep up.
These ladies know how to keep a reader wanting more. That cliffhanger has given me anxiety! As soon as I was done getting over that ending I ordered the next book on amazon. I cant wait to jump into the next book.
As quick a read as the first… couldn’t put it down. Can’t wait to wrap up with the
third book!
This is the sequel to Paper Princess, which was much better than this installment, though Paper Princess in itself is not too great a book. Like Paper Princess, this is juvenile YA that pretty much revolves around unrealistic relationships with the male lead embodying what the “perfect” man should be, which I found entirely too cliche and not entertaining at all. I was also more than thoroughly fed up with the chapters that were in the point of view of Reed, the same male lead. I don’t know if these thoughts are typical thoughts but I thought everything I read is what all females are hoping their s/o’s are thinking: things like “she’s perfect” and “I would do anything for her.” They’ve literally known each other for a month. I would not recommend this unless you’re looking for a quick, steamy, obviously YA book.
