Broken Pieces is a work of non-fiction.
Poetry, prose, and essays to let you into one woman’s life — a searingly raw examination of topics most people avoid.
Already an international #1 best seller on Amazon (eBooks) on Women’s Poetry and Abuse, this book is recommended for mature audiences only due to adult themes. For more of Rachel’s work, look at Rachel’s second award-winning book, Broken Places, which continues the story.

I read Broken Pieces, and it shook my soul. There is something in this randomly written collection of essays, prose, and poetry that kept me glued, compelling me to swipe screen after screen. The way the author has played with words keeping the real message intact is commanding.
From the beginning till end, Broken Pieces kept me giving goose bumps by the depiction of raw, naked emotions. From the eyes of a sex abuse survivor to an innocent teenager who survived a near date-rape to a wayward yet innocent heartbroken young adult to a working woman, a mother, and a person who she is today.
It’s a book for every woman and man to read. No matter where you live, what religion you follow, what cast and creed you belong to. It not only depicts the vulnerabilities and insecurities of the women but the dignity and courage, the two hidden legacies of the fairer sex. And, how a woman can fight back to carry on with her life.
Rachel has clearly shown how we keep ourselves hidden inside the shells not letting our fears reveal us. The book encourages facing the truth and speaking the reality. Rape, sexual abuse is not a matter of shame. Women gotta speak it out; let their fears come out in open.
Broken Pieces is an inspirational memoir depicting the journey the author traveled from being a shy introvert young girl to becoming a person who she is today.
Already familiar with Rachel Thompson and her fantastic book marketing and blog SEO books, I was eager to read her Broken Pieces and Broken Places books. Not exactly the type of books you’d binge read, I found myself unable to stop myself from reading straight through both of them. Wow. Then I went back and read through both books slowly, taking time to re-read and digest Rachel’s words and experiences, allowing myself to skip around to different sections. I will admit that it became difficult to separate the two, but I think that’s OK. The body of Rachel’s work in these books is powerful, honest, and brave. In many cases, the subject matter is raw and difficult. But there is an overarching beauty and hopefulness that emerges.
Both Broken Pieces and Broken Places tell in beautiful poetry and prose the story of a woman – who she was, who she is, and who she is yet to become. Her words communicate so poignantly how the person we are is absolutely tied to each experience we live through, for better or worse. Rachel shows us how to accept and love every part of our person. Kudos to Rachel for such a brave and honest collection of work.
Rachel Thompson’s Broken Pieces and Broken Places are a powerful experience for anyone. Even if our specific experiences are not the same, we are all human and we all live, hurt, and love in similar ways. It is not difficult to relate Rachel’s words to our own lives.
