Brooks and Raelynn’s story is a great read. Absolutely loved this book and couldn’t put it down.
I absolutely loved this one as much as the first one. This one is about Brooks and Raelynn. Raelynn has been through so much. More than anyone should ever have to go through. She finally comes home to White Creek to deal with the aftermath and attempt to start over. She ends up out at Summer’s baking again which is the one thing that she absolutely loves. Brooks is there and things between these two heat up. Doesn’t help that they live under the same roof. I love Brooks and Raelynn together. I absolutely love the chemistry between these two and how they rebuild each other. Tori did such an amazing job writing this one. I cant wait to read more from her.
Broken Pieces is the second book in the White Creek series and can stand alone. I am sending virtual hugs to Tori Fox for sending me a copy of this book- it’s amazing! Broken Pieces is everything I needed. Not only is it an original love story but it brings serious issues to light. Tori used care in telling about domestic abuse and addiction and made her characters seem completely believable in all aspects of their lives. For some, this is a hard feat and those issues may take over the story. That’s not the case here. I am so glad to have read it!
There is some drama, some angst, and even twists and turns that will have readers anxiously flipping the pages. There is also undeniable chemistry and a lot of love flowing though the novel. All in all, I would say all this mixed together makes for a fantastic read and I cannot wait to read the first book in the series! Tori Fox will be one of those authors I will be watching for all new releases.
Tori Fox
4 stars for Broken Pieces by Tori Fox. This is book 2 in The White Creek series, however it is a standalone. This is also my first book from this author and I look forward to reading more from this author. I would say this is a enemies to lovers and small town romance at the same time. Raelynn has an abusive boyfriend and has turned to drugs and alcohol to get through it. Her brother has been trying to help her for years and finally Rae decides she is ready for help and leaves the douche she is with. She is an ice queen to everyone ad treats everyone around her like crap. She is broken into so many pieces and isn’t sure she can be put back together. Brooke has had a sketchy past and has finally started to get his life together. Rae’s brother does not want her near him. Brook is instantly attracted to Rae and they have instant chemistry between them. These two both have a past that they would rather keep hidden. However after they start a no strings attached relationship, they start to share their past and things begin to change. Can these two realize that they might be the glue that will help put their broken pieces back together.
I was hooked from the beginning of this book. I was on the edge of my seat with tears in my eyes reading about these characters stories. I can not say enough about how deep this story touched me. The way Tori Fox did not shy away from the dark parts of Brook and Rae’s lives is what made this story rise to another level. If the cover itself hadn’t been so great the blurb would have intrigued me and make me want to dive in. I can not say enough good things about this book and Tori Fox has a new fan in me.
This book is amazing and had me right from the start. I was sitting at the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. This is a gem of a book and I am so glad I was give a chance to read it.
Raelynn is a lost girl in an abusive relationship. She has finally had enough and runs home to her brother where she knows she will be safe. As she is trying to pick up the pieces of her life she meets the towns bad boy Brooks and they click. The chemistry they have is palpable and they know they are right for each other.
The only thing is they both have secrets and will the secrets destroy them or make them stronger? This is a must read and I am going to go back and read book one as I loved book two. They are standalones so it is okay to read them out of order. But like I said before this is a MUST READ story!
This is the 2nd book in this series, but it is a standalone. When Raelynn runs away from an abusive relationship, she end up on her brothers’ doorstep, and also meets the town’s bad boy Brooks. The attraction between these two is intense; however, will they survive when the mistakes from their pasts collide. This is a beautifully written story, and hats off to this talented author, for dealing with such a tough topic in such a sensitive manner! This story is heart-wrenching, raw, gritty, powerful, and not for the feint-hearted as is deals with abuse, addiction, and suicide. I cannot wait to read more from this author.
This author continues to floor me with her writing. She takes som tough topics and brings them o the surface in a beautiful way. You envision yourself and think about everything you went through to get to where you are today – the good, the bad, and the ugly. The way she took two broken, hurt people and intertwined their lives was a beautiful piece of writing.
Raelynn and brooks meet in unfortunate circumstances. They both have a past they can’t overcome and together they make this beautiful story so rich and full of life.
Broken Pieces is what Raelynn is in when she returns back home to the small town of White Creek. This girl has literally been through the ringer. The life has been sucked right out of her. She’s there in person, but her mind can be a million miles away, and her stare vacant.
It’s been three years since Brooks life went to hell. He’s just trying to keep his head above water. He’s been cleaning up his act, but the darkness in him still tries to pull him under when he thinks about the day that chances his life.
What happens when one vacant state recognizes another? What you get is a perfect storm. “Love can be like the thunderous call of waves on a dark ocean at night.” But can they make past the one big secret that Brooks has?
Broken Pieces is a story about loss, love, family, addiction, forgiveness and learning to love yourself again. This is my first time reading Tori Fox and it won’t be last.
I loved this rocky but sweet romance. The storyline is realistic and the characters are wonderful. Broken Pieces is very well written and I connected with the characters throughout their story. This was my first time reading this author and most definitely will not be my last.
They both have a past they would rather not talk about. But when Rae has to move out of the main house and into the little cabin with Brooks the sexual chemistry rises and sparks fly. They agree to s*x ONLY, but when their pasts start being shared everything changes. They never expected to find out their pasts collide and have the change to either destroy the relationship they are building it bring them closer together and lead to possibly forever.
This is the second book in Tori Fox’s White Creek Series, however it is a standalone. I adored this book! It hits on some tender subject’s domestic abuse, underage drinking, how mistakes of your youth can haunt you forever.
Raelynn is a young woman who runs away from her abusive boyfriend and lands on her brother’s doorstep, the home she grew up in, in the small town they grew up in. Enter Brooks, the town badboy. Their backstories are heart tugging. It was lovely watching them grow into each other and letting go of their pasts.
Ms. Fox’s character are well developed and believable, her story lines are forward moving and will keep you emotionally involved in the story. If you are looking for a quick hot ride – this one is definitely worth the time.
