The Hawthorn Group has a new leader, and he’s itching to send all supernaturals to the Alderwood Reformatory… including me.One wrong move, and I’ll be sent off to that prison masquerading as a school, where I’m viewed as a traitor to my own kind. Staying out of trouble becomes a near impossibility when the boy I love starts growing wings and battling dark, demonic urges. A malevolent essence is … demonic urges. A malevolent essence is growing within him, consuming him with its power.
Turning to the supernaturals of Alderwood Reformatory, who I’ve been warned to fear, may be my only chance to bring Justin back from the edge. Time is running out. With each second that ticks by, he’s pulled further into that beckoning abyss with no desire to return.more
Broken Elites by Rita Stradling is such an awesome story to read. This is book number three out of four in this awesome series that I have loved reading and can not wait to read the next book. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about fantasy and paranormal romances.

This is book 3 of the Vampire Legacy series. This is a really great series. I love the characters and they are well developed. The storyline for book 3 is well written and holds your interest. I’ve been hooked from the start of this series and highly recommend reading.

This 3rd book in the Vampire Legacy series is an exciting, action filled read with lots of twists. Justin is acting strange; something is obviously wrong with him and he seems to have his own agenda. Sebastian is back and you just know that there will be more problems on the horizon. There are plenty of surprises, change and revelations in this story. I really enjoy all the characters; they are flawed, have depth and you can go from hating to loving them as the story progresses. Mitch has grown on me more and more and your heart aches for the abuse he has had to live through. He is moody, snarky, somewhat aggressive and has a flippant, couldn’t-care-less attitude that hides his true feelings and gentle heart. His and January’s relationship seems to be shifting and I will look forward to seeing where it goes. January’s life remains in flux and she is unsure of who to trust, especially as Justin is not acting like himself. An influx of strange murders, the re-emergence of Sebastian and new pressures at school make January’s life even tougher than before. This is a well written story that easily capture your attention and leaves you a little stunned by all that happens. I can not wait to see how things progress in the next book.
Unlike other magic school academy books, this book doesn’t span one particular year. I keep having to remind myself each time I pick this series up, that each one only covers a couple of weeks or a couple of months so all of them combined have covered only part of one school year and we’re not even up to winter break yet. I do love Rita Stradling’s books! (I even loved the contemporary romance I picked up by her and I usually avoid that subject). All of her characters come off so natural and relatable, and well developed, right down to the small side characters. Though I loved him as a character in the previous two books, Justin was lacking this time around. Maybe in part to his erratic behavior and in part to him being practically a cameo with very few scenes. And as January is his girlfriend, I really thought she should be seeing him more often. Seemed like she saw her mother in the asylum more than him. I did love Mitch being more developed again, as in the previous book, too. He’s such a fun character with his moody, snarkiness, and careless, flippant attitude, even though he totally wore his heart on his sleeve. I loved how he spent most of his time eating and sleeping, even during class. Though I thought straight from the beginning that January was making a colossal mistake not letting him in on secrets. Isn’t she supposed to be smart? This book has a little bit of everything. From vampires, to dhampirs, to monster slayers, to demons, to werewolves, and witches, and even a supernatural fight club (sorry, not a fan of the fight club). And plenty of trying to guess who was on which side, who January could trust, and who might totally betray her. I love that January isn’t one of those stereotypical badass tough chicks who fight first and win all of their fights at the point of a sword or gun. I love that she’s down to earth, has her own threadbare dress code while staying at the elite prep school, has a giant loveable German Shephard in her dorm room, and is a mediocre student academically and out of shape physically while attempting to pass athletic classes with students bred to be monster slayers. I can’t wait to see where the next book will go!
I have been waiting to see what was going to happen with January. So this book starts off a little slow but does pick up. There are a lot of twist and turns. Something is up with Justin in this book. Then you have Sebastian who is back and obviously causing more problems. However, he has an agenda he is trying to accomplish even if he turns himself in. So January secret comes out, so how will that play out with everyone. There are more secrets being revealed as well. As I said earlier something is up with Justin, he is being a jerk to everyone. What is going on with Mitch and January? So what will happen. Hopefully we will get all the answers in the next book. I cannot wait.

I’ve been waiting for this part for a while and I’m not disappointed at all, the action, suspense and the heartache was on point. My only two questions for the next part are …Will he come back?? (Not tell who disappeared) And… Will Sebastian finally get what’s coming to him??
No cliffhanger, ends is a long over due rest on Halloween night watching reruns…
What January is dealing with at Blackburn and from the HG will make anyone was to snap some necks and add to the fact that there are more supers that are looking to balance what HG is doing and what the higher ups in the group is pulling, no wonder.
I want to go on and talk about this series but I am stopping here. I can’t wait for the next part in this amazing series.
Man this story is addicting, LOL. I was a bit shocked at the way book two ended so I was beyond excited to read this one. It lived up to my internal hype and gave me all I wanted an more.
January, Justin and the rest of the cast are once again fighting for not only their safely but also for good. I loved how hard they fight, how strong they are and how determined they have to be. One step forward, two steps back (or sideways) but always progressing.
The author has a magical way of really connecting me to these cgaracters and experiencing the action and romance right along with them. I found myself hokding my breath, laughing, gasping, yelling and maybe swooning a time ir two all throughout this entire book. Loved it!! I received an ARC and I am leaving an honest review, I also bought myself a copy to add to my series collection.
This series keeps getting better and better. I love these characters. I’m holding out hope for January and Justin….but I love Mitch too. It seems January and her friend get two steps ahead and then they get knocked back three. Just as much action and intrigue as in the last book. I can’t wait for the next book and to see where it takes the group. Also waiting for January to come into her awesome warrior self and kick some HG butt. I highly recommend this series!
