I’m not sure how much more complex and mind blowing this story can get! It picks up right where On The Edge left off, and the gravity of the situation with Caden takes on a whole new aspect that puts Greyson in a position she swore she would never be in, and hates to have to admit to.
I knew better than to try and figure out what was going to happen in this book, just hang on and go along for the ride. But even with that mentality I still had plenty of jaw dropping moments. I really was not expecting the change in direction this story took. And here I was thinking that Caden was the unpredictable one!
If you’ve followed the story so far, you know that Greyson and Caden have some pretty intense, hot steamy sex. Even with everything that is going on around them, they carve out time for the thing that bonds them together like nothing else. Anyone else ever get jealous when fictional characters are having way better sex than you’ve probably ever had in your entire life? No? Just me? Okay then… Moving on!
Once again there is plenty of mindfuckery going on in this story, and the deeper Christine takes us into the thick of it, the more convinced I am that I am just an ignorant dolt who shouldn’t be allowed in the same room with someone who can weave such an intricately complex tale of two people who would move heaven and earth for each other. The question is, at what cost to self will they go, to ensure the other’s health and safety?
This one ends yet again with a cliffhanger. And I can’t even imagine what is going to happen next. I just know that Christine is going to bring us to a mind bending conclusion with book 4, Over The Edge. I can’t freaking wait!!
I can’t believe what I just read. And I can’t really say much without giving it away. Definitely make sure to read the prequel before you read this installment so you understand what has happened previously.
This couple loves each other so much and is willing to do anything for each other – and in extreme ways. Don’t miss this series! It is her best one yet.
BROKEN EDGE by CD Reiss is book Three in The Edge series. This continues the story of Caden and Greyson. Since Caden and Greyson story started in earlier books in this series, I do feel you need to read them first.
Wow this has been a page turner of a series. Reading everything that Caden and Greyson are going through and seeing how strong Greyson is turning out to be. This books opens up more questions for me and I know the next book is the last one so that should give me my answers. This is definitely a ‘edge of your seat’ series. Can’t wait for the next installment!
The Edge Series of books:

Rough Edge Book 1;
On the Edge Book 2 ;
Broken Edge Book 3;
Over the Edge Book 4;
I honestly cannot get enough of this series. As soon as each installment is released, I’m devouring it. I keep wanting to savor it, but my hunger is relentless. I’m impatient for each release and I only wish that I could get my hands on the complete story sooner.
Caden has reported for duty and nothing has been resolved. He’s still not okay and Greyson is worried sick. She’s so worried that she decides that the only way she can truly take care of him is to report for duty as well. So there’s Caden trying to manage the best way he can, compartmentalizing, saving lives and taking numbers and wishing beyond all hope that he can deter his wife from joining him in the war against terror. But he should have known that was a lost cause. When does Greyson ever listen?
This entire story gave me anxiety. I was constantly wondering if Damon would show up, would the military figure out the truth, would Greyson be able to keep everything on track, and whether a happy ending would be truly feasible for this couple. I’m still crossing my fingers and my toes on that one. CD Reiss has continued this series with this next installment of delicious goodness. As I stated, I cannot get enough of these characters and their incredible story and I’ll be waiting on the edge of my seat for the next part.
I didn’t think CD Reiss could rock my world any more than she did with the first books in this series….I was so very wrong.
Broken Edge starts revealing more details on Caden’s troubled past, on Ronin’s mysterious plans, and on Greyson’s level of commitment to her husband. Watching this story unfold is incredible and intense. And yes, it does end with an omg event that sets the stage for what is sure to be an epic book four! I continue to be blown away by these characters and their rollercoaster ride of a life.
You really need to read the previous books to follow the twisty path Ms Reiss has taken to get to this place in Greyson and Caden’s story. Trust me, you want to read them all to savor the sexy savagery that is Caden St John.
Broken Edge, book 3 of the four-part Edge Series, continues the story of Caden and Greyson’s struggles in saving themselves and each other. Greyson and Caden’s love for each other was so intense and consuming. They love each other so much that they were willing to do anything to save and protect the other. The story was getting more thrilling as they were back to the war zone and Caden’s internal struggle was getting more complex. This psychological romance series keeps getting more twisty and complicated. Just when I thought that the major issue was resolved, the author threw in a turn as a cliff-hanger at the end of the book. I’m so looking forward to see how the story will continue with the switch of direction in the next book.
I received an advance reviewer copy of the book for free from Social Butterfly PR in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
This is series has been one crazy roller-coaster ride. I have been left with so many questions after every single one. We do get some answers in book 3, only to get more questions! but with all the confusion I was left with this story is amazing. Its like no other book I have read.
I love Caden, in all his messed-up-ness he truly loves Grayson. he’s fighting some type of battle, but with Grayson he can over come anything. Grayson loves her husband, she wants to help him win this battle so she’ll do whatever she needs to do for him.
C.D Reiss has this writing style like no other. she gives you a great story with twist and turns. She doesn’t give anything away and always keeps you on the edge of your seat while reading. you cant help but devour her books. Once you finished you are left broken, asking questions and you wont even be able to explain what you experienced.
You’ll enjoy every moment. this series sucks you in and keeps you intrigued as to what’s happening and what’s going to happen. I cant wait to see where this drama will go and how it will end. truly this book is worth the ride and I totally recommend jumping into this madness.
I can’t even with this book. (and I mean that in only the best of ways). Just when you think Ahhhhh they will be okay…the next shoe drops and you are left with your head spinning wondering…what in the ever loving heck is going on here? You try to squint through the words to make sure you read what you read…you sit back and do that “I’m not here” stare trying to piece it all together and still you just don’t have it. You are left feeling like Caden has his hand around your throat literally (hey some of us might like that) and you aren’t sure whether or not you will live long enough to see true happiness. CD Reiss’s The Edge series seriously keeps you on the Edge and is a masterpiece of not only consensual super steaminess but of suspense and intense, burning feeling
This series has been the best books I’ve read all year. Probably my favorite of CD Reiss series. I can’t wait for the 4th and final book yet I don’t want it to end. It’s edgy, hot, suspenseful, gripping, heart wrenching, endearing and painful. I love Caden and Greyson. This is a must read series.
Mind blown. I’m so unbelievably invested in this series, it’s insane. I feel like I can’t say too much without giving away info, so I’ll keep it simple. If you like something with a psychological twist, drop what you are doing and start this series immediately. Can’t wait to see what happens next!
I’m so intrigued by this story! I can’t recommend it enough!!! What Greyson did for Caden….gah!!! Now anxiously waiting for book 4 to see what happens next.
C.C. Reiss you are The Goddess! A MUST READ SERIES!
How do you write a review… put into words a book that was so intense, hot, thrilling and unlike anything I’ve read before?? Broken Edge was a whirlwind from beginning to end, then left you wondering what in the world just happened. Christine always writes in a way that leaves you wanting more, and The Edge Series has been no exception. This series is definitely a phenomenon, and one that if you don’t ready it… you are missing out on something wonderful!
Oh my goodness, this book kept me sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading it! I was so nervous, so worried about how Caden would do in a war zone again, away from Grayson as well. And poor Grayson was a nervous wreck about him going back into a combat situation. There’s that new “therapy” that Ronin has him doing, with the mystery injections, and you don’t know if you can trust Ronin or not. How is Grayson going to cope without Caden for that long too? This book was full of conflict and secrets, flashbacks and betrayals. And that ending…OMG!! I couldn’t put it down once I started, and I’m counting the days till the next one releases!
Every book in this series holds my emotions hostage. I’m sure there are stages they went through; I just haven’t identified them yet. The “shock and awe” campaign is well and truly alive.
Is there a more imperfectly perfect book boyfriend like Caden? He is lightness and darkness, he is cruel yet gentle, he is sunshine and starlight. Greyson was made for him. Strong, courageous, fierce yet submissive. She is every fibre in a tightly-knitted comfort sweater that has Caden’s name on it. He lives for her love yet completes her in return.
Have I told you that CD Reiss is a genius? I haven’t? My bad..let me fix this now. SHE IS.
If you haven’t started this series yet, what are you waiting for?
Can Love Break You?
It has become crystal clear, as we creep closer and closer to the Edge of Greyson and Caden’s story, that Ms. Reiss is the Mistress of the Serial. No one in the genre can spin this format into an emotional spider web the way she does. Once you walk through one of her worlds you just can’t shake it. EVER.
First, it was Submission.
Then, it was The Games.
And now The Edge.
This story is devastating.
This story is provocative.
Emotionally.
Sexually.
It’s the guts of a marriage laid bare – and picked apart with mercenary precision – absent the specter of divorce hovering overhead. Just what to those vows really mean? Can devotion go too far? Can you save your soulmate by sacrificing your soul?
The narrative makes this story sing. It’s so deftly crafted – crisp and surefooted – and a perfect counterpoint to the tumultuous emotional chaos mounting at every turn. Ms. Reiss create this gorgeous, lyrical emotional arc that is so stealthily manipulative that you’re questioning your sanity. With every cliffhanger we are left a little more battered and begging for more – no longer mere readers but submissives to a Domme that uses her pen like the sweetest scourge, punishing and rewarding with each word and phrase.

The third book in this series picks up right where book too, On the Edge, left off. We are thrown right into the combat zone and things take off from there. Caden has made his choice and it has indirectly forced Greyson to make her choice as well. No matter how much Caden fights her on it, he knows in the end she will do what she wants and he does truly love that about her. I can’t write too much without giving away too much of the plot in this third book, however I can tell you that just when you think you know what is coming, Christine throws another curve ball at you and it hits you upside the head. This book is full of passion, anguish and even some betrayal. In Broken Edge, we see a darker side of Caden as something even harder to deal with than Damon comes out in him. Greyson is desperate to save him and as things begin to play out, the most unexpected things begin to unravel. I love this book and ending how it did, I am desperate now for the fourth and final book to see if these two can truly find a happy ending, or will be torn apart by the world around them.
Well after reading Broken Edge I feel like I’m hanging on to a ledge by my fingertips, waiting to slip and fall into a deep oblivion. CD Reiss keeps my mind spinning with every book in this series which just makes me want more.
I am starting to see it all coming together, the connection between Caden and Greyson, the who the why the when that has lead them to this point, the undeniable bond that neither are prepared to lose and the love that is uniquely there’s.
CD Reiss has a truly amazing mind and her words will leave you feeling like your on the edge hanging on for dear life until this journey run its course and you can put your feet on the ground and breathe again.
If you haven’t yet then do yourself a favour, start at the beginning and let this amazing author and this brilliant series rock your world.
This series is everything! It just keeps getting better and better. So much twists and turns. It keeps you on the edge and what a fitting name for the series. CD Reiss is a master at her art. Is raw, sexy and screws with your mind. The best series I’ve read this year and I know the ending is gonna be epic. I wish I can say much more but this story really needs to be read, devour and enjoy. So do yourself a favor and start it, you won’t be disappointed. Can’t wait for the next episode.
I read an advance readers copy and this is my honest opinion!
5 thrilling stars
So many questions I want answers to now. Majority of this book takes place in the war zone. Of everything single moment that happens in this book makes me keep questioning the Blackthorne program. I was also glad we got more insight to Caden’s past. There is a huge cliffy at the ending that is totally changing the direction of the story. I have my theories, but I’m eager to see how this will all be played out in the next last installment.
As C.D. Reiss’ The Edge Series continues, my mind becomes even more of a jumbled mess, leaving me with more questions than answers, but the maelstrom in my mind also heightens my interest and my demand to understand everything that’s happening to Greyson and Caden, both individually and as a married couple.
How far would someone go for love?
That seems to be the question continually posed in The Edge Series, and with Broken Edge being the title of book 3, it’s clear that Greyson and Caden haven’t quite reached their breaking point yet, but what’s also quite vividly exposed is the idea that there may come a time in the not so distant future where either one or both of them might be too broken to be repaired and what that means for a couple who has endured countless obstacles and continues to somehow survive is still open-ended, leaving nothing but circumstantial insights, which in no way helps readers to reach a valid thought as to how Greyson and Caden’s story will end.
The only idea that I can say with 100% surety is that Greyson and Caden are nowhere near the people readers met at the onset of their story, and while I’m sure some of that has to do with the fact that both characters have been thoroughly stripped bare as each book in their series is released, my other thought is that Greyson and Caden were on unstable ground even back then, which may indicate that while they attempted to project their stability, the unraveling has happened over the course of the these three parts, forcing themselves and readers to face some harsh truths about who these two characters are and what their true versions signify.
C.D. Reiss has definitely declared psychological warfare on her readers’ minds, and while that declaration leaves readers reeling, what it also indicates is just how skilled Reiss is at constructing a multifaceted and unpredictable story line – one that does not follow a linear path but rather ebbs and flows as situations arise and as the minds of these characters begin to deconstruct, willingly choosing to be bent and battered, even if it means there’s no coming back.
I can’t even begin to assess how far ‘over the edge’ Reiss plans to take her characters, but what I do know is I can’t flipping wait to understand exactly what each exposed secret and weakness means for Greyson and Caden and just how difficult it will be to bring each other back once they’ve fallen so far beyond what they thought possible.
