From USA Today Bestselling Author, Jaymin Eve, comes a new chapter in the Supernatural Prison World …
Maximus Compass is a vampire without direction. Without heart. And without soul. He lost his true mate in the great battle against the dragon king, and now must face life alone.
And yet … something is happening to his agony. It’s fading away, leaving him with barely a memory of the female he … memory of the female he believed to be his one and only.
As his mind clears he starts to wonder if the mate bond had been nothing more than a manufactured ploy? This suspicion explodes within him right around the time he runs back into a certain wolf shifter.
Mischa Lebron is a complication he doesn’t need in his life. He can’t erase her from his mind though, and while memories of his supposed true mate continue to fade into mere shadows, his one night with Mischa is blazingly strong. But they’re not of the same supernatural race, so there’s no way for a true bond to exist between them.
Right?
When an old threat rips apart their pack, Maximus will come to realize that he would do anything to save Mischa. That the mate he thought was perfect and precious was nothing on the shifter he walked away from. Now Maximus truly has everything to lose.
Note from author: Broken Compass is a spinoff set within the Supernatural Prison World. Told in dual POVs from Maximus Compass and Mischa Lebron. This is full length and standalone with a HEA. You do not need to read the Supernatural Prison trilogy first.

max and misha!
Luuvvv it! the Quad is back! Misha is the real MVP !!! enough said. Read it. Love the compasses!!! they are the best!!
A fun read with some demons and a bit of spice thrown in.
I really enjoyed this book. It’s the fourth in the series but could also be read as a standalone, although I’d personally recommend reading the first three.
As well as following its own story arc, this book ties up loose ends and answers questions from the first three.
I really enjoy reading about the characters in this universe. There is a lot of scope for more stories and I’m looking forward to seeing what the rest of the series will bring.
Another great book in the set. I loved learning more about Mischa and how her character continued to develop. I was worried I was going to bite all my fingernails off reading it. There was definitely a lot of hair raising parts. Highly recommended!
This one, though tagged as a Supernatural Prison Story – #1, is actually book 4 in the series. While you do not HAVE to read the first trilogy, Jesse’s story, (start with Dragon Marked) – it helps, as you will already know all of these characters and why the loss of Maximus’s mate is such a big deal, and why it’s not.
I found this book harshly painful. Everything that Mischa went through, and what she is going through…. as well as why. It’s all tied together and it all just sucks, though the end makes up for the rocky start. I love Maximus, and I love how everything evolves and resolves here, though the metaplot is not done.
Broken Compass is book one in Jaymin Eve’s Supernatural Prison Story’s a spin-off series to Supernatural Prison that follows Jessa and Braxton. This book is in dual POV by Maximus Compass and Mischa Lebron. If you haven’t read The Supernatural Prison series that’s ok as this is a standalone and does explain events that have happened in the other series, but if you want my opinion, (Even if you don’t your going to get it) go and read the other books, I promise you won’t be disappointed. There is so much going on in them, so very happy times and not some, but it is all with it in the end. Plus you can see what the Compass brothers are like when they are not under a lot of stress, you can see the playful need between the pack.
I’m not sure what to say about this book. I was very hesitant and unsure about reading it to start off, as I felt like I was betraying my favourite Dragon Shifter Braxton by going and reading someone else’s story. Even thought my sexy dragon made appearances, I still felt like I wasn’t getting enough of him. I do understand Braxton and Jessa have had three books for their side, but we haven’t had Brax’s POV and now we have Max’s in this one, I just think my dragon is getting the rare end of the stick. But anyone this book is about Maximus and Mischa so here’s my thoughts.
I had mixed signals throughout it all. When Mischa first made her appearances back in Dragon Marked I felt her to be whiny, soft and a mouse, which is not a very good match for Max our Vampire Quad. I know a lot of people do not like her from everything that has happened in Dragon Mystics and Dragon Mated, but what you all have to understand is Mischa isn’t use to the Supe world. For 22 years she has lived among humans and thought she was human, she had no friends growing up, Jess had the Compasses and Jonathan, she had a home and stability and was taught and new all about the supernaturals. So give the girl a break.
After loosing his mate in the battle with the Dragon King Maximus Compass is lost and needs to be on his own to try and heal. But everyday the pain for his mates fades a little and is being replaced by a darker hair shifter. What was wrong with him? He should be mourning the loss of his mate not thinking of another person.
Heavily pregnant with Max’s baby, Mischa is worried that Max won’t be returning anytime soon to tell him about the baby before it is born. Sticking with her twin Jessa and Compasses, her heartache and soul is starting to heal, but deep down she still craves and wants Max. But she knows they can never be true mates cause he’s a Vampire and she is a wolf Shifter, but her wolf keeps calling him mate which is confusing.
When an old threat reappears and is trying to destroy the happy bubble that the Quads, Jessa, Mischa and Louis are in with the near expecting births of babies. Everyone needs to do what they can to protect the twin sister and the babies growing in their bellies.
I am so glad I ended up reading this book and got to see Max and Mischa help heal each other after all the heartache they have experienced. At the end love conquers all and I can’t wait to read the next book.
Maximus is so hot!! This book was great having a wonderful love story, lots of steamy thoughts and great humor. I’m so glad Mischa has finally become strong and her relationship with Jessa is strong. Although there was a good struggle and adversity in the story, this was such a strong family story!
Wow!! This was edge of the seat reading

Broken Compass by Jaymin Eve, a True Five star read. This book is a stand-alone book with a HEA or book four in the Supernatural prison series. I read it a stand-alone book, and now I really have to go back and read the series as I am desperate to get those books read. This book was amazing.
The book is mainly focused on Mischa Lebron and Maximus Compass, she is a shifter wolf who lived as human until recently, never feeling like she belongs anywhere as she doesn’t fit in when the world fell apart, she finally finds home. He is one of the four compass brothers, community leaders and a vampire without heart and soul after he thinks his mate has died in the battle in the supernatural prison books.
The book is told from both of their POV and they both share their stories. He starts to realise that even though they may not be the same race, his history and family ties make things complicated. Mischa starts to feel like she really belongs, she is finally finding the relationship with the twin sister she never knew she had, and the compass brothers, one in particular that she doesn’t want to feel anything for but with all of these relationships that she isn’t used to things get complicated.
Something big happens in both the girls lives and they have to fight for their lives and their loves, and Max most of all has to fight for himself and realise he does have a heart and it’s big enough for all.
Jaymin Eve writes a great story, her characters may be bad in some cases but they are so, so good in others. You can’t help but fall in love with the Compass brothers and I can’t wait for the next book. I can’t wait to see what trouble they will come up with next given the arrivals.
