They broke me.Ryder, Maverick, Ezra, and Jaxson didn’t think I would come back for my second year. The coldly cruel knights of Evergreen believed the Mark would be all it took to get rid of me… to keep me quiet. But now I’ve got a whole new reason to stay. Those four will know a pain far worse than what I’ve endured. They tore me apart until there was nothing left… and now I’m going to return … nothing left… and now I’m going to return the favor.
Broken is a reverse harem high school bully romance with a sweet tinge of mystery. This is book two in the series and features language, dark themes, and sexual scenes. If you’re cool with that, dive in!

I’m not sure what I’ve stumbled into with this series, all I can say is, I’m SO freaking hooked. I’ve been drawn in so completely and I will not rest until I see it to the very end.
The bullies thought they won, but Val is too strong and has come too far to let them chase her away. The biggest shock for me, was the ending, but also finding out who is behind the Spades! Like, what? I love that Val has come clean about her past to some people and she has friends (for lack of a better word) in whom she can confide and hopefully trust. I will also admit to getting a somewhat sick sense of satisfaction in the antics of her revenge against those who wronged her in book one.
Knowing what we know now only makes me more eager for book three and finding out how the story will move forward now that there are secrets that these 5 characters share. I think victims of bullies or abuse, if not triggered, could find this book and series kind of cathartic in the reading of it. And, of course, the fans of bully romance and dark romance will find this series riveting.
Book two in the Evergreen Academy series did not disappoint again. I finished the first two books in 28 hours. Val’s journey with the Knights and the mystery around the Spades kept me holding my breath, and I couldn’t read fast enough.
If I didn’t know better, I would have thought this was NOT a RH story. Each step deeper into the story was like a chasm growing bigger between Valentina and the guys. When it seemed like progress was made, the ground fell beneath their feet. I couldn’t help but hold my breath and expect betrayal at every turn since my trust in everyone was crushed the minute Val got marked.
On the plus side, the Spade was finally revealed. Now the question is, did they work alone?
And revenge never tasted sweeter than Val’s! But what does this mean for Val and the guys?
By the end of things, it seemed there was hope for a truce, but by this point what is real and what is pretend? Still waiting for the shoe to drop…
I did enjoy this book but it’s too similar to all the others in this genre. I am looking for the one book or series in this genre that stands out. This one does have a semi-unique twist in the villain, but it mostly sticks to the “script” as it were. That being said, I did really enjoy this book. It is a slow burn build up to the steamy bits as mostly it stays focused on the plot and moving it forward, which I really liked. Hate when a character gets bullied but then jumps into bed as soon as the bully says something nice. The heroine in this series seems to have a good head on her shoulders and is most definitely strong-willed. She is put through the wringer, not only by her bullies but in other aspects of her life, and comes out with her head held high. I will say that this book has some trigger spots for those who are worried about that sort of thing, but the author makes sure to let the readers know. I gave 4 stars because I really enjoyed this book, so much so that I finished the entire series in 2 days, but it was very similar to other books in this genre. So far, though, this one stands out more than the others I have read so far. I definitely recommend.
I AM SPEECHLESS!
The first book ended with such a turn
There is a break at school Valentina spends her break at Sofia home since her mother is traveling.
She has a birthday coming up Girls decide to spend it without a party.
But Sofia’s mother has other plans and is organizing a party for Valentina, and of course, the whole school is invited there. And what a party without Drama
Going back to school is her only plan and it’s revenge!
Overall: It so well written and exciting, dark, emotional, unexpected, revenge,
terrible secrets that came out, lies, shock and a terrific cliffhanger at the end…
Story told Valentine point of views.
Thank you!
This is book 2 in the series and I think everyone needs to read “Marked” which is book 1 before going into this one. Here we see Val returning for another year, but she’s done being the victim, she’s strong and she is going to give back everything that she went through with interest! It’s a brilliant written story and the characters are great. It’s dark, so be aware of that, but it’s a fantastic read. Waiting for book 3 to see where we go from here.
