From USA Today bestselling author Willow Winters comes an emotionally gripping, standalone, romantic suspense with an edge of darkness. I never thought of life like the petals of a rose before. But they’re so alike. Delicate and easily crushed. Broken… just like he made me. He could pluck away and there was nothing I could do except be destroyed and accept my fate. That’s what he does, he ruins … fate.
That’s what he does, he ruins what he touches. Ruthless and cold hearted.
They gave me to him.
To break.
To do as he’d like.
All because I was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
He grew addicted to the feel of plucking away at me. At leaving me bare and taking control over every piece of me.
And if I’m honest with myself… I grew to love it too.

I LOVED this book. This one is a Standalone. The basic premise is… a girl (well, woman), stumbles upon some criminals and witnesses the murder of a cop. She gets taken by these guys and given as a gift to one of them “to train”… instead of being “shipped off.” Kade is this guy.
She doesn’t know what being “trained” or “shipped off” means, but she has an idea and she knows she definitely doesn’t want the last thing. She wants Kade to save her. She has this weird and wrong feeling that she can trust him that he will protect her and keep her safe.
Her instincts are spot on because Kade isn’t what he appears, but I will NOT spoil that.
Either way, she is in a situation where she has to obey him. She struggles between her fantasies, her attraction to Kade, and the very real very wrong thing that’s being done to her.
It’s a brilliant dark romance with a great set-up! You should read this! I listened to the audio version narrated by Jacob Morgan (great as always!) and Muffy Newtown (new narrator to me, but did a great job. Very emotional!)
Wow, another great read from Willow. I know this book has been out for a while now, but I’ve only recently started to read Willow.
Wow, this was a very sensual, seductive dark romance. It had a Stockholm Syndrome feel to it, which I love, but it wasn’t really hard to fall for Master K, wow I’d be his Angel anyday! Aside from the erotic scenes, there was a really good story with a few twist and turns at the beginning which I didn’t expect.
Broken was a pleasant, quick, enjoyable dark read and I can’t wait to read more of Willow!
It’s hard to describe what I liked about this book but I truly liked the two lead characters and felt that deep down, it was a romance. That said, not everyone is going to like the BDSM aspects of the book or the business that Ricky and Victor were in. Overall the book was written well!
This is not a pretty story, what the author delivers is intense, gritty, raw, believable and at times hard to read, yet, I found I could not stop reading. This is a story of survival, bravery, courage, guilt beyond measures and what you convince yourself of that needs to be done in order to stay alive. Yet, find yourself being pulled in a whole different direction altogether, leaving you questioning your own sanity.
That’s what happens to Olivia after she is kidnapped and faced with the scariest of circumstances. However, things are not always what they seem.
I tried to imagine myself going through what Olivia went through, as well as trying to understand why Kade did the things he did. Some of which is shocking, especially what happened to Kade’s best friend James. The story challenges the faint of heart and is extremely though provoking.
Broken is a darker story than I usually read. I thought the story was unique, and there was plenty of suspense and twists that keep you guessing till the end. The characters were okay, I just couldn’t connect with them. WW is becoming one of my to go to authors but this story fell flat to me.
This is not your typical love story. I hated it and I loved it. I felt every emotion in between, including a heap of anger and outrage. The idea of being held against your will and forced to call someone Master makes me want to scream, and not in a good way. The relationship between Kade and Olivia is complicated but what it really comes down to is the will to survive. He does what he believes is necessary to save both their lives and she submits to him because he is the only one who can keep her safe in the dark place she’s found herself. Everything about this story is intense including the desire they feel for each other which eventually becomes a soul-searing and unbreakable love.
Dark romance is not my favorite genre but I couldn’t put this down even when I was tempted to, because Willow Winters is an amazing writer and made me care about these characters. I can’t exactly say I loved this book but it was spellbinding and I couldn’t tear myself away.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Oh, Mama! This book is dark. I don’t think that it’s the darkest that I’ve read by Willow Winters. But it kind of took me aback and was nothing like what I expected. But oh, did I love it. Olivia Bell is in the wrong place at the wrong time and when Kade Maddox sees the opportunity to take advantage of this situation, he doesn’t hesitate. Everything about this book was just great. The setting, the mood, the characters and even more great writing. I could have loved to see a bit more action, but overall I really enjoyed this one. My only dislike about this read was how fast the timeline for everything seemed to be too short for me. With most Willow Winters books we are able to get a real understanding and a lot of time with characters across multiple books. This book is a standalone and because of the length and how much you can fit into only one book the events in this book went fast. I just wish we had more time with them. Slow it down and really get into depth.
Audio Performance:
This book was narrated by Jacob Morgan and Muffy Newton and all I have to say is that these two are a great pair together. Really enjoyed listening to this!
I kept going back and forth on what to rate this book. I really would like to give it 5 stars, but for the simple fact that everything happened so fast I can only give it ½!
I loved this book!!! Holy Moly it was hot! Lots of steam, pretty messed up parts and heartbreak but a great HEA!
I really liked this book.
So I am starting to hate the term “Stockholm Syndrome” but I feel that Olivia and Kade’s love story is opposite of it. I loved that their relationship started of a rocky but eventually they both fell in love. So I trying really hard not to reveal too much from the book, but an excellently written with just the right amount of dark side and soft side from Willow Winters in her characters. I absolutely loved it. I can’t wait to read more from her.
Dark, forbidden and sexy read. Absolutely love Kade and Olivia’s story! Broken is such a great read!!
Definitely dark, but wonderfully sexy, too.
The plot and content were not original. I read it before.
This is one of my favorite Willow Winters books. Its a wonderful book. It’s a tear jerker, but worth it.
Olivia witnesses something she shouldn’t have which places her in a very dangerous situation with some very unsavory people. She fast learns that the tall dark and handsome man isn’t as safe person to be with as she thought..
Kane finds his self in place where he is given “Angel”| to train in to submit to him.. Lil does Olivia know that Kane is suffering to keep his “dark side” at bay..
Kane will fight to protect both of them as he trying to take down one of the biggest sex traffickers
This was by far one of Willow Winters Darkest books. I would happy recommend this book
I have read this book twice.
It is just so good. It is definitely a dark romance. Sometimes it is not so easy to read it, because what happens to the characters in the book.
But in the end, it does have a happy ending.
It is action-packed and a dark romance in one book. It is difficult to put down when you first start it. You just need to know what happens to the two characters.
Hard to put down
Absolutely loved this book and the characters. Willow builds world’s like no one else. Highly recommended this one.
WOW I just finished this book and I was completely blown away. Loved it
