An Amazon Best of the Year Selection Dangerous: Former Navy SEAL Clarence Wolfe’s unit was taken out with a land mine. Injured and devastated, he hasn’t been quite right since. Worse, the tragedy was no accident. All Wolfe wants now is to take down the man responsible. In the meantime, he’s good with being the muscle for the Deep Ops team—and leading a steamy no-strings-attached personal life. … no-strings-attached personal life. Until one intriguing woman changes everything . . .
Determined: Reporter Dana Mulberry is on a mission to avenge the death of a fellow journalist. She’s finally hot on a trail—right to a sex club—where she runs into . . . Wolfe? It seems both their leads have led to the same spot. To keep from blowing their covers, they’ll have to at least pretend to have a little fun. Trouble is, they genuinely like each other. And that’s way too risky for Wolfe, especially when, to his surprise, Dana agrees . . .
Complicated: Drawn to each other in ways they can’t understand, Wolfe and Dana keep it professional—until they’re shot at one night. And when their adventures land them both at the heart of corruption in D.C.—and at odds in their missions—they’ll have to dig deeper than ever to succeed in their quests—and with each other . . .

Broken is the next book in the Deep Ops series and with some giddiness I can say its Wolfe’s story. Clarence Wolfe, tough guy with a kitten in his pocket and stealing hearts throughout the whole series, finally finds himself in a situation with reporter Dana Mulberry that he cannot talk himself out of. An undercover missing person case leads Dana straight into Wolfe’s arms. Bullets fly and the heat scorches the pages as Wolfe’s secret op crashes into Dana’s case. Underground sex clubs, a drunken German Shepard, and a crazy family wedding add spice to a story where the past comes to teach our unstable hero that even a lone Wolfe needs his family. Sexy, flirty, and action packed the story is all I dreamed for Wolfe and Dana with a very satisfying HEA that will leave me rereading this book over and over again. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.
I’ve read several of the books in this series and liked them. However, I have been looking forward to this one. I got a quick peek at this story in a different book. It really got my attention and I could hardly wait to pick it up. So I was quick to grab a hold of it when the chance came. I was NOT disappointed at all. It so deserves 5 Stars on Amazon when it opens for reviews.
Wolfe and even Dana were one-of-a kind type of people. It took me almost no time at all to get drawn into their story and care about them.
The romance was definitely Wolfe style. And yes, they do get to some hot sexual encounters together. But you will have to wait for that for a bit. Because there is a lot of intense action going on outside of a bedroom. It’s coming from several different directions almost all at once. It’s intense and dangerous. The team that they have surrounding them is both unusual, a bit crazy but also all in when it came to having each others backs.
One of the craziest team member if you want to call him a team member is Roscoe. Now I knew going in that he was kind of a “fantasy”dog because of some of his strange abilities. He added a lot of humor to the tense drama. The kitten in the story is a sweet addition who mainly sits in Wolfe’s pocket and purrs as much as possible.
Things come to a kick-butt conclusion when it comes to the danger to this team. But also with a H.E.A. for our main characters. Not to worry though, at least one team member has a bad guy to pursue. So more adventures ahead!

Sexy, sweet romance and some fun suspense going on. Love Wolfe’s quirkiness; he’s a strong guy with a soft side and a bit of a sweet tooth. He’s adorable, and I love his protectiveness. Also, he’s such a sweetie with the kitten, Kat; too cute! Really most of the characters in this book are quirky characters; even the pets. I liked Dana’s sassiness and that she’s a strong woman, but she does annoy me at times. She kept arguing about Wolfe trying to keep her safe because she doesn’t want to get bossed around and she’s an independent woman that can take care of herself; which is great, but how about being an intelligent one too. There’s some very dangerous situations going on in this story, so it would’ve been better for her not to argue all the time. There’s murderous people on the loose! It’s not a time to exert your independence. Some murderous ex-friend of Wolfe’s from his past with the military is doing some very bad things; plus, this ex-friend murdered all of Wolfe’s military team, so Wolfe is out to take him out. So yeah, lots of fun going on! Entertaining read! Excited to read more in this series!
Wowzers!! What an excellent addition to the Deep Ops series. With all the danger, intrigue, and heat it definitely held my attention throughout the whole book. And Dana and Wolfe were just so excellent together. Their chemistry fairly lept off the pages. I loved them so hard.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book and the entire series.
Thank you to the publisher, Kensington/Zebra, and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor.
I cannot tell you how much I FREAKING LUUUURRRVVVEEDDD THIS STORY! I fell in love with Wolfe from the very first day and while everyone thought he was crazy and may have needed being put down, I cheered for this deeply scarred man. Dana was the perfect mate for him. A journalist who can’t seem to stop getting into trouble and Wolfe, our hero who saves her every single time? Just perfect! Wolfe doesn’t believe he will survive because he needs to avenge his fallen team and therefore doesn’t want to make any commitments to Dana. Well, Dana had other plans for him, lol. Filled with all of our Deep Ops motley crew, make for an action pack ride! My heart almost broke for Roscoe, thank God he pulled through. Some old and new characters were introduced, Selena and Jethtro and Frost is back too…I wonder who is going to be with whom, lol. 5 STUPENDOUS, AWESOME, TERRIFIC AND FANTABULOUS STARS
P.S. I cannot wait for the next book, Force and Nari? Now that is going to be something extraordinary

4.5 stars
Clarence Wolfe is a loner, but loyal to his black ops team. He has lost most everyone important to him including the loss of a team in the past, so he does not take them for granted. He is burly, tough, and intense, but enjoys lattes with sprinkles and is always willing to share. But he is a bitter man still bent on revenge for his fallen comrades and does not want to ask for back up and risk any of his new friends.
Dana Mulberry is a reporter and has been mixed up in some of their missions. And now she is on a quest of her own to find out who killed one of her friends. She is smart, brave, and sometimes impulsive. Wolfe has already clearly friend-zoned her. But now they find themselves undercover in the same place, at the same time, and someone is after one or both of them. She seems to find herself in dangerous situations, so Wolfe insists he needs to watch out for her.
Sexual tension and attraction, two missions, and a need to keep each other safe complicate matters. Wolfe does not think he has anything good to give her except protection and does not want distractions. And she wants answers for her own case and also still wants more from him. Their chemistry is undeniable, and they can be good together when he lets his guard down. He trusts her more than most, but that also riles up his protective instincts and he can only be pushed so far.
As the story progresses they keep tying more and more things together and eventually he is going to need more back up than just Dana. But Wolfe is stubborn, loyal, and very protective. He is not afraid to sacrifice himself for others or for revenge. Dana is equally as strong-willed and is determined that there is a way for them all to come out of this situation alive and maybe hope for a real chance with Wolfe. But there is an enemy that will stop at nothing to win.
This is a fast-moving, action-packed romantic suspense story but it also has humor, camaraderie, and passion. I will admit I own the other books in this series and planned on binge reading them before this, but ran out of time. But I was able to read it as a stand-alone and understand what was going on. I really liked Wolfe and Dana, and the whole quirky and intense team. Even the dog and cat had personalities. They all have their skills and are loyal and willing to jump in when needed. I am looking forward to Angus Force’s book next.
BROKEN is the third full-length instalment in Rebecca Zanetti’s contemporary, adult DEEP OPS erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for the US HDD (Homeland Defense Department) and Angus Force’s Requisition Force Team. This is former US Navy SEAL Clarence Wolfe, and reporter Dana Mulberry’s story line. BROKEN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary.
Told from several third person perspectives including Wolfe and Dana BROKEN follows Clarence Wolfe as he continues to hunt for the person responsible for, killing every man in his Navy SEAL unit, leaving Wolfe battling the memories where is all went wrong but Wolfe never expected to find reporter and part-time Requisition Force Team member Dana Mulberry haunting the same club as our story line hero, a club that specializes, and caters to the people who live on the kinky side of life. But all does not go according to plan when Dana’s target is killed, and Wolfe soon recognizes they have been looking for the same man. With the help of Angus Force’s Requisition force Team, Dana begins to unravel the clues as it pertains to a missing journalist, a journalist who may have uncovered too many secrets of some very powerful men. Meanwhile, Clarence Wolfe is determined to go it alone-like his name, Wolfe is a lone wolf, and will not stop until Gary Rockcliff, the man that killed his friends, is behind bars or dead but said man has a new target, and Dana is now in his sights. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Dana and Wolfe, and the potential fall-out as Gary is always one –step ahead of our story line hero, one step that places Dana in the direct line of fire.
Clarence Wolfe doesn’t do relationships believing himself too screwed up from the injuries he suffered in Afghanistan. With only one goal and one path, Wolfe is determined to take down Gary Rockcliff, no matter if is gets him killed in the process but meeting and falling for journalist Dana Mulberry, divides Wolfe’s attention, forcing our hero to protect Dana before finishing his mission, on his own.
The relationship between Wolfe and Dana is one of immediate attraction but Wolfe keeps to himself, and refuses to place Dana, or his teammates in the direct line of fire. Worried that Wolfe’s suicide mission will be a success, in more ways than one, Dana pulls the Requisition Force Team together to protect the man with whom she is falling in love. The $ex scenes are intimate, passionate and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including former police detective and undercover operative Malcolm West, and Pippa Smith, (Hidden #1), Special agent Raider Tanaka, and computer hacker Brigid Banaghan (Fallen 2) , Requisition Force team leader Angus Force; Angus Force’s quirky whiskey guzzling, lipstick eating German shepherd Roscoe, and Wolfe’s pocket sized kitten Kat: FBI psychiatrist Dr. Nari Zhang; former MI6 Agent Dr. Jethro Hanson; Special Agents Tom Rutherford, and Kurt Fields.
BROKEN is a story of betrayal and vengeance; family, friendships, relationships and love. The premise is fast paced, energetic and dramatic; the characters are strong-willed, energetic and captivating; the romance is seductive and hot. BROKEN continues to reveal a little bit about Angus Force’s determination to take down a man he once believed was dead; and like so many heroine’s in romantic suspense story lines, Dana Mulberry was a little disappointing- oftenTSTL (too stupid to live)-determined to place herself in the direct line of fire, claiming, as a journalist, her priority was to finish the job, regardless of the number of people murdered or dead (sigh)
I’ve really wanted the author to write a story for Wolfe and I’m so happy that we finally get to know so much more about him ! Wolfe is on a mission all of his own and he is determined to save his team from his violent past. Tracking down the man who betrayed both Wolfe and his fallen comrades though takes him further towards a woman he might want but knows for her own safety he can never have !
Dana is determined to find out what has happened to a fellow journalist and her latest lead takes her to a rather salacious and very private party . Dana might have felt uncomfortable in her sexy get up but that’s nothing compared to how she feels when she realises that Wolfe is a sexy as anything, leather clad Dom ! They quickly realise that they are both hunting the same man and together become entangled in an explosive game that will challenge Wolfe to not just confront his past but perhaps look forward finally to his future.
I really like Wolfe but honestly think he should have been a little less secretive and a whole lot more honest with his fellow operatives. Perhaps he’s a little too ready to sacrifice himself but nevertheless this larger than life protective man was such fun to read about.
Dana is a light touch in this story as she’s not particularly kick ass or anything but doggedly determined and the author uses both her and indeed her family to bring warmth and humour into this story. I think that’s why this series is one I enjoy so much because along with the danger, suspense and steamy romance there’s always absolutely crazy bouts of things to make the reader smile. Wolfe has always stood out with his adorable kitten but there’s even an alcoholic dog and in this story things get very messy indeed. These books are best read in order and always keep me happily turning the pages.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair
This is the third book in the series it was a good I really enjoyed it . Moved along fast . This one was about ex Navy seal Wolfe working with a deep ops team helping reporter Diana Mulberry. The attraction between them was written good .Kept me reading to find out what was gonna happen . Great storyline looking forward to reading more of this series
Loved Wolfe and Dana so hard
I have been waiting for Wolfe’s book and let me tell you I did not want to put it downIt was full of suspenseful mystery, steamy times, action and some HILARIOUS Roscoe moments I also loved the new “consultants” and I’m hoping we get some more Deep Ops stories with their HEAs I’m especially looking forward to reading Force’s story next as I feel it’s going to a bone-chiller
I received an advanced copy via Netgalley, also a thank you to the publisher and author, and voluntarily leave my honest review
I hopped on the Rebecca Zanetti bandwagon with Fallen, and I don’t plan on getting off anytime soon.
I absolutely loved Wolfe and Dana in Fallen, and I was so glad to see their story was next with Broken. Wolfe was broody, haunted and on a mission; Dana was feisty, fierce and determined to solve a case of her own. The two of them together were dynamite.
The Deep Ops unit as a whole is awesome, and that includes Roscoe and Kat. I can’t wait for the next installment from this team.

Anyone who has been reading this series as been waiting for Clarence Wolfe’s story and believe me now that we finally have it you won;t be disappointed He is the muscle of the deeps op team a team that is compromised of members that have all failed in some way In Wolfe’s case he feels responsible for the death of his entire seal team and he is determined to get revenge for them. Reporter Dana Mulberry is also on a revenge trip though hers is for a fellow reporter who was killed The trials lead both of them to the same sex club now they will have to work together if they don’t want to blow one another’s covers. The only problem is that they are growing to like one another and their attraction to one another is growing The task is also becoming more dangerous as they realise it goes much deeper into the lives of some very important people Can they survive get justice and maybe have a future together You will have to read to see
Once again Rebecca has written a tight romantic suspense that has you engaged from the first page and she never ever lets the pressure down until you turn that last page satisfied but exhausted from the thrill ride you have been on
I’ve loved every one of the books in this series, but I’ve been dying for Wolfe’s story and I was not disappointed!
Wolfe is an interesting character, he’s added a lot of humor to the previous books with his quirky ways and his mysterious past. Although he’s the muscle behind the team, the way he thinks has often led me to think of him as almost innocent. He’s got such a pure heart when it comes to those he loves. And he’s fiercely protective of them as well, especially Dana.
I wasn’t sure if I’d like Dana or not but I should have known better. Ms. Zanetti did an incredible job of creating a heroine that could stand up to an alpha hero who wanted to control her, all while giving her the type of personality that made me want to be her friend.
This book sizzles with adventure, danger, humor and passion. Broken starts off fast and never slows down. With all the other wild Deep Ops characters to help this couple along the way, this made for a great escape from all the things that were currently weighing me down.
My favorite of the Deep Ops series. I was hooked from the start and read way past my bedtime because I had to see how it ended. Wolfe has intrigued me from his first introduction and I couldn’t wait for his story.
But Rebecca Zanetti totally made the wait worth it. Loved learning about Wolfe’s past and how that impacted his present. He and Dana had sparks from the start but they combusted in Broken. They just fit together in this imperfect manner. And just when I think I couldn’t love Roscoe anymore-he stepped up in a big way. Can’t wait for another visit with the Broken Ops family.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC received via NetGalley.
This is book 3 in the Deep Ops series and I would absolutely read the previous books before reading this one. In this one we finally get Wolfe and Dana’s story! Clarence Wolfe is a former SEAL whose entire team was taken out by a landmine and he was seriously injured. He hasn’t been the same since. But he knows it wasn’t an accident and he will do everything he can to bring down the one responsible. While he waits, he will work with Deep Ops as the muscle they need. Dana Mulberry knows something happened to her friend, and she will do whatever she has to in order to find out what it was and avenge her. She has a trail that leads her into a sex club, which also leads her to Wolfe. To keep from blowing both of their covers, they will have to work together. But when their leads take them straight to the danger, they will have to decide what is more important and what they are willing to do for each other.
I absolutely loved this one! I was impatiently waiting for Wolfe’s story from the first time we met him in the other books, and this in no way disappointed me! This man has been through hell and come out the other side not quite whole. But in no way less lovable. He is alpha, and protective and I can’t help but love everything about him. Dana is this strong willed woman who is more than willing to fight for what she believes is right, regardless of whether she will get hurt because of it. And after what has already happened to her, you know she will do what is right. These two together are explosive! They have this off the charts chemistry but even more than that-they connect and fit with each other. The story is fast paced and sucks you in, and I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it. I loved every single minute of it! Now I seriously need Angus’s story!! I can’t wait for that one!!! And any other novella’s that get thrown in there as well!
I’ve been waiting for Wolfe and Dana’s story, and it certainly did not disappoint! It’s my favorite of the series so far!
Clarence Wolfe is a former Navy SEAL, whose entire unit, save him, was killed in a bomb blast in Afghanistan. Wolfe hasn’t been quite right ever since. When he figures out that the bomb was no accident, he decides to hunt down the traitor, and get his revenge, even if it means losing his own life in the process. He had nothing else to lose, so the trade seemed worth it. He got himself embedded as the muscle in the Deep Ops team, and has been helping them solve cases, while he pursues his own on the side, but nothing prepared him for how much he would care about his team members after such a short time. Plus, there’s an investigative journalist who is a friend of the team, and the pull he feels toward her is like nothing he’s ever experienced. But, he can’t let himself get any closer, when he might not be around in the future for her.
Dana Mulberry is trying to get to the bottom of her friend and fellow journalist’s disappearance. Dana fears the worst as Candy has been gone for 2 months already, and there was a LOT of blood in her apartment. Dana is determined to figure out Candy’s coded notes, and find out what story she was working on, to determine if it had anything to do with her going missing. She’s undercover at a BDSM club party following a lead, and she runs into Wolfe. Turns out, both their leads have led them to look for the same man. They decide to help each other, and see if they can solve their connected cases together. But, it’ll be hard being so close to Wolfe for an extended period, and not being able to act on their explosive attraction.
Wolfe and Dana have had chemistry like whoa, from the beginning, but he basically friend zoned her from the start, since he didn’t think he had much of a future. Dana has always wanted him, but has tried to respect his choices. But, once she finds out he actually does want her too, all bets are off! The heat between them was awesome, and I loved watching them slowly fall into a real connection together.
The team is SO AWESOME, and I love getting to see these characters over many books, some of which have already been their own stories. Everyone is fun, smart, and quirky in their own ways, and I appreciate each of them so much. Especially crazy Roscoe, the dog with a drinking problem. He’s insane, and I love him. They all have found ways to work well together, and they each have their place and purpose, and I adore their camaraderie. There are even a couple new people that show up to help this time, and I hope we’ll get to know them better too! Dana’s family was also AMAZING, and I hope we might see her sisters pop back up in the future!
The suspense plot here was a good one, and got even better once we learned HOW the cases were truly connected. It brought everyone together in awesome ways, and watching them all be so competent in their jobs was fantastic. Wolfe definitely wants to protect everyone from his personal mission, especially Dana, but no one will let him get away with it, and I loved that. The suspense was strong, and I felt the tension through the entire story, especially with all the sexual tension between our main couple heating up too. There was also ground work laid for Force’s book, which will be next, and I CANNOT WAIT for his story. He’s a hot mess, and the team shrink, Nari, is so put together, but you can tell their connection is going to be BANANAS.
The only other thing I want to mention is a bit of a content warning. Our two main characters are dosed at a party, and they end up sleeping together, and not remembering much about what happened. They had already slept together before that, so the angst of the incident is relatively low, as far as that goes, but I feel it could be a trigger for some readers.
I really loved this one so much! I’m very excited for the continuation of this series, and I hope there will be more books after Force and Nari’s book next! I highly recommend this entire series. The stories are each unique and exciting, and I always love being along for the ride!
OMG I have been waiting for Wolfe’s book since book one. God but I love that crazy ex Navy Seal. I knew his book would be amazing and I was right. From the start of the book, which started with Wolfe in leather at a sex club, I was hooked. Wolfe was sexy, protective and a bit nuts, but oh so yummy. Dana was smart, stubborn, and brave. They were very cute together. I loved the build up to their relationship. Both Dana and Wolfe’s backstories were good, detailed and made me feel like I really got to know them. I just loved them both so much and thought they made a great couple.
The plot was great. The bad guy super evil. There was action, and plenty of romance. Wolfe’s mission was hella good. I was fighting myself not to skip ahead just to see what happened next. Roscoe and Kat were funny and cute as ever. I loved the whole team and getting to see the close friendships within the group grow with each book. A few new people popped up in this book and I really liked them. Especially Dana’s family. Force’s ongoing story line got a bit more interesting. I can’t wait to read his book. Overall this book was amazing, and the ending was so sweet. I loved every minute of this read and can’t wait to read the next book.
Absolutely amazing!! I seriously love this book and series so much! RZ had me hooked on this group of quirky characters from the get-go and I’ve been really looking forward to the story of the big Wolfe who carries a kitty cat around in his pocket and having someone make him really feel again. Let me just say that this story is everything I hoped for and so much more! Wolfe may be a big, alpha, bada$$ operative, but what a sweet, sexy, and wonderfully swoonworthy man he actually is! Dana brings out all the best in him. She is such a strong woman and I just love their chemistry and how they are around each other. He brings out her best too! Dana makes Wolfe want to try to be able to have more than he thinks he can given the crap that is going on. He does not want anything to happen to Dana or anyone he cares about. This storyline is so freakin’ good!! I was on the edge of my seat! Thankfully Roscoe is there to add some much needed comic relief as always!! I can’t wait for more in this series!
BROKEN (Deep Ops Book #3 ) by Rebecca Zanetti
I very much enjoyed this story by Rebecca Zanetti. It is the 1st story I have read by her and it will not be the last. She has brought Clarence Wolfe and Dana Mulberry to life in a very real way. He is a former navy seal that is still reeling from having his whole team killed on a mission by a fellow seal, and he is now is a deep ops member. She is a journalist whose best friend was murdered while investigating a story. Rebecca brings us action packed drama, suspense, intrigue, banter, chemistry, and characters you really care about it. I give this 5 stars.
I am a big fan of this series! The characters are well developed and interesting as are the story lines, This one was another great story! Wolfe was such a great character. A formal SEAL with some issues with a sweet tooth. Loved his interaction with Dana. Dana was a strong character as well and a reporter. When Dana and Wolfe both end up investigating the same thing Dana becomes a target things heat up as Wolfe guards her. Loved the chemistry and the steam! Add in Roscoe a dog that has his own issues and the rest of the team and you have another great story! Lots of action and suspense with plenty of humor and a fantastic story! Loved it!
