An Amazon Best of the Year Selection Dangerous: Former Navy SEAL Clarence Wolfe’s unit was taken out with a land mine. Injured and devastated, he hasn’t been quite right since. Worse, the tragedy was no accident. All Wolfe wants now is to take down the man responsible. In the meantime, he’s good with being the muscle for the Deep Ops team—and leading a steamy no-strings-attached personal life. … no-strings-attached personal life. Until one intriguing woman changes everything . . .
Determined: Reporter Dana Mulberry is on a mission to avenge the death of a fellow journalist. She’s finally hot on a trail—right to a sex club—where she runs into . . . Wolfe? It seems both their leads have led to the same spot. To keep from blowing their covers, they’ll have to at least pretend to have a little fun. Trouble is, they genuinely like each other. And that’s way too risky for Wolfe, especially when, to his surprise, Dana agrees . . .
Complicated: Drawn to each other in ways they can’t understand, Wolfe and Dana keep it professional—until they’re shot at one night. And when their adventures land them both at the heart of corruption in D.C.—and at odds in their missions—they’ll have to dig deeper than ever to succeed in their quests—and with each other . . .

Broken is book 3 in the Deep Ops series written by Rebecca Zanetti. Having read the two previous books in this series I was excited to read Wolfe’s story, I loved the chemistry between him and Dana. This storyline is action packed and well written, it will keep you turning the pages until the end. I would definitely recommend this book to others that enjoy romantic suspense books.
I received a free copy of the book from NetGalley and the Publisher in exchange for my fair and honest review.
Broken by Rebecca Zanetti is the third book in the Deep Ops series and was as intense and compelling as the previous two books.
I was excited to find out that this one was about Clarence Wolfe who I absolutely adore. How can you not love a large alpha male who rescues a kitten and brings sweet latte drinks for all of his team? Ms. Zanetti introduces a few new characters in this book that I hope will continue to be part of the team as I am intrigued by each of them. The plot was fast paced, filled with action, steamy romance, and an evil psycho from Wolfe’s past. Roscoe’s antics at a wedding made me laugh out loud which did provide a little relief from the intense storyline. I couldn’t put the book down until the end and want the next one in the series now.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book from Zebra via NetGalley. All of the above opinions are my own.
Broken is another fun and exciting action packed story. Once again the reader gets an inside look at this team of oddballs and eccentrics. I love the dynamics between these characters as they all have such unique quarks; it keeps me tuning the pages. I can always count of Rebecca Zanetti for an action paced romance with humor and heat.
In this story we meet Dana and Wolfe. Dana is a reporter working on blowing up a great story and Wolfe just happens to be on the same track, albeit for different reasons. They have two different missions, two different goals but ultimately need to work together to accomplish them. These two are opposites yet there is something about their personalities that pulls them together. The push and pull was wonderful to read about and I thought it was just enough to create some tension and desire between them. Well developed and fun, these two were made for each other. They get into scrapes but also create an amazing HEA. Oh and Roscoe gets me every time! LOL.
The action (as always) is fast paced and really well detailed. I felt that I was there and participating with the characters. The story is not predictable so it was fun to learn each new twist and tur; while it does take some time for the action to present itself, the ending was explosive. I really enjoyed this story and think those who enjoy romantic suspense stories with humor will enjoy this one. I received an ARC via NetGalley and Kingston Books and I am leaving my honest review. 4.25 stars.
Yikes! Broken is a 6 star romantic suspense by Rebecca Zanetti. Ms. Zanetti has delivered a well-written book populated by an outstanding cast of characters. Wolfe is ex-military and working for Deep Ops when his path crosses with Dana, his journalist friend, at a sex party. Dana is on a quest to find her missing friend or discover what happened to her. Wolfe and Dana’s story is paced with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. This book had me on the edge of my seat, I loved every page and look forward to more from Rebecca Zanetti in the future. Broken is book 3 of the Deep Ops Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
So much love for Wolfe and Dana’s story, it was everything I was hoping for! We finally get inside the head of the man who may or may not be a little crazy to find out that answer as we are taken on a suspenseful, action packed, steamy and funny ride.
From the very first moment we met him, Clarence Wolfe has been an enigma. He is a laser focused soldier at times, a little bit all over the place at the others. He carries around a kitten named Kat in his pocket and has an affinity for Roscoe, Angus Force’s equally neurotic dog. His love of over-the-top sweet coffee drinks may induce cavities in his team members who pretend to enjoy them, but he stubbornly refuses to believe that these people mean anything to him. Too bad he is only lying to himself since he has an agenda of revenge against a former teammate that will likely end up getting him killed.
He is surprised to find one beautiful and stubborn journalist undercover at the same party as the story opens, and that first chapter sucked me in while setting the tone for everything that follows. Dana can’t deny she is attracted to the man but he placed her firmly in the friend zone from the time they met. That doesn’t mean she can resist pushing his buttons a little to see how committed he is to that friends-only mentality, particularly since they are both undercover at an invitation only sex club party where they are playing Dom and sub. She quickly realizes she is going to get more than she bargained for though!
Wolfe’s restraint will only hold for so long, and when he realizes that their 2 cases are somehow connected with Dana directly in the crosshairs of a killer thanks to a contract on her life, buckle up buttercup because this ride is about to get bumpy! She is used to being independent and refuses to take the situation as seriously as he thinks she should, and the power struggle is more one sided than she would like to admit to until a close call brings the reality crashing down on her. She won’t take Wolfe’s caveman antics in stride though and he secretly enjoys their push and pull.
So back to the big question: crazy or not? Well you will just have to read to find out for certain, but I I definitely fell in love with his character as we gain insight into his past and the endgame he is chasing throughout this story. His interactions with Dana’s family were some of my favorite moments that I have read in a book recently, and both Dana and the HDD team make him realize that he has something to fight for. The ending made me smile for so many reasons, and I am REALLY looking forward to the next revelation in Angus’s own personal mission that landed him with this team.
ARC received via NetGalley
This is still a fairly new author to me, no this is not the first book of hers that I have read but I am still getting accustomed to her. I liked the banter and pushing and pulling between wolfe and Dana what did bum me out was that this is a series, and while I wasn’t lost I felt that I was missing the easy commorodary of this cast. But what I did enjoy beside the danger and suspense was that we had some humor which to me helped with the danger.. Am on planning on catching up..
rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions.
Swoon worthy Hero!!!
Wolfe is everything I had hoped he would be. Since the very first Deep Ops book I’ve been curious about what made this brooding standoffish man tick. With his surgery lattes and a kitten in his pocket he wove his way into our hearts. Dana is a tough reporter determined to find out what happened to her friend.
The bad guy is super creepy and crazy evil.
The Deep Ops team is quirky and unique and I love watching each couple fall one by one. The wedding and Dana’s family are hilarious and of coarse Roscoe as always stole the show with his crazy antics.
We are introduced to new team members which means one of my favorite series will go on longer. The perfect combination of suspense, romance and humor!!!
Another action packed, suspenseful, fan waving, sometimes sweet and sometimes funny book in this series. This time it’s Wolfe’s turn to find his love and get some demons off his plate. Dana is a spitfire and perfect compliment to Wolfe. Her family is so fun and I hope for a spinoff or something with her 3 sisters. This book kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was going to happen next. Love this series and this team. Can’t wait for the next book.

An Absolutely Outstanding Suspense Romance story .
I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy through Netgalley of BROKEN . I really enjoyed reading Broken it’s fantastic . It’s action packed and very suspenseful . This story is full of humerous situations but it also is serious a wonderful combination . Roscoe rounds out the entire story . This is Wolfe and Dana’s story and it’s fabulous . The chemistry between the two hot and very intertwining at times . Wolfe has been fighting his attraction and feelings for Dana . He has an enemy that he knows will come after anyone and everyone he cares for to hurt him . He tries to keep her in the friend zone but it becomes harder the more time they spend together . When danger comes at Dana and Wolfe he’s not sure if it’s because of her investigation or if it’s his fault .Wolfe decides he must keep Dana close to better protect her . While Wolfe accompanies Dana to her cousins wedding danger escalates and so does the heat between them . He can no longer keep her in the friend zone any longer . The danger is coming straight for them . Wolfe must stop him to get the future with Dana . This story keeps your attention from start to finish . It’s well written and the characters are sensational . I highly recommend taking the time to read and enjoy .This is a favorite story for me .
Rebecca Zanetti returns to her Deep Ops series with Broken, a story about a former Navy SEAL and determined to avenge his fallen brothers in arms and the woman who wants to help him.
Clarence Wolfe has been biding his time looking for the man who killed his team while working for Homeland Defense Department, a motley crew of good men and women who’d have his back if he’d let them. But he’s reluctant to let anyone close to him for fear his nemesis might hurt his loved ones to get at him, especially the alluring woman who keeps needing his backup when getting into sticky situations.
Freelance reporter Dana Mulberry needs to find out what happened to her journalist friend. Her findings lead her to a sexy club where she runs into none other than the tall, dark and sexy Wolfe who’s put her squarely in the friend zone.
As Wolfe steps in to protect her they find out their cases overlap. Working together while keeping Dana safe tests Wolfe’s control over his feelings towards her and soon they’re both tangled up in more ways than one.
Dana is energetic and keen to put her safety on the line for a good story, but she’s more eager to put her heart out for the broken yet incredibly alpha swoony Wolfe. Where Wolfe is fierce and a bit withdrawn, she’s strong and determined. But they make a great team finding common ground in their sense of civic duty and resolve.
Zanetti writes an electrifying plot with skill, including characters from past books giving Wolfe and Dana the support characters needed to develop the danger and intrigue that surrounds them. And while Wolf and Dana’s chemistry is palpable, it takes a while for Wolfe to relent.
I had met Wolfe since the start of the series. He came of as a bit off and yes, broken. I loved how Zanetti showed this was mostly about Wolfe’s desire to protect everyone around him first. She writes movingly of how much life had taken from him but even more deeply of the reward of letting others help starting with Dana. Their romance was intensely hot and passionate.
But not everything was intense danger and romance. Zanetti expertly interweaves some much welcome humor by adding the issue-riddled Roscoe, an alcoholic dog with a shoe and makeup fetish who gives each book and extra star!
Broken is book #3 of the Deep Ops series by Rebecca Zanetti. It is a thrilling suspenseful romance told from both points of view, with a happy ending.
Action, suspense and romance are front and centre in this sweetly addictive read. Ex navy seal Clarence Wolfe is a kamikaze agent in an FBI deep operations team, he’s intent on getting revenge on a deadly, psychotic and traitorous colleague from a previous military assignment. Pig headed and alpha all rolled in to one, Wolfe is determined to keep nosey reporter Dana Mulberry in the friend zone. Forced together when their cases intermingle keeping Dana at a distance is proving to be a mission in and of itself. Wonderful characters, an action packed storyline, and a dog that proves he’s more than just an average canine, way to go Roscoe. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.
Wolfe has been my favorite since the first book of the series… well, beside Roscoe. Roscoe is on a level all his own. That dog has brought more comedy to this series than any other animal in a book. I adore the animal.
This whole rag tag team is made up of some quirky characters. They have messed up in the eyes of their superiors one way or another. Wolfe is that big scary dude that also has woman wanting to cuddle him like a bear. What can I say, I love the weird. That’s a big reason he’s been my favorite from the start, even though I’ve enjoyed all the characters.
I usually struggle with journalist just because they always seem to get themselves in stupid situations and take no heed to their own safety. I didn’t have the struggle with Dana, and that probably has more to do with Wolfe always covering her back. They made such a good team together and I adore how protective he is of her.
I’m happy to say that Wolfe stood up to my high expectations for his book. My heart just melted with a few scenes that made me love him more. So good!
Ah Wolfe. Enigmatic former SEAL with PTSD. With his trusty sidekick Kat he has been the silent support through the other books in the series. Now he gets to have his HEA!
Dana is our very own Lois Lane. She givers her all to her stories and more than once she may have got herself into a little bit of trouble. She has also been a great support to the team – much to the Mainstream Homeland agents chagrin! Now she is in the sights of one of her most dangerous targets yet and Wolfe may be her only way out!
OMG Wolfe undercover at a sex club – yummy! Add in dysfunctional family weddings, meeting Dana’s sisters (yes there are more of her!) and more slapstick adventures with Roscoe and this is another great book in this series! Plus we have fresh blood joining the gang – including a very mysterious Brit – roll over James Bond 007!
Dana and Wolfe may not have had an easy start in the romance department but they have had a really strong friendhip and attraction. I loved that they never really lost anything from taking their friendship further. I loved learning about wedding bingo – I’m going to suggest this at out next family wedding! Roscoe – that poor doggie needs his own emotional support animal – he got issues!
I will attempt to wait patiently for the next book in the series – who am I kidding! I’m already counting down the day!
Since Wolfe was introduced in the series, I was really intrigued by his character and I have been waiting for his story to come. It definitely did not disappoint, it was so, so, so good!
I loved everything about Wolfe and Dana’s adventure and their romance. They were a perfect fit and the push/pull challenge of their relationship was fun, sweet, and really meaningful. It made their connection and love even better. Their conversations were honest and real and you could really feel the depth of their emotions and see how much they cared for each other in their actions.
The witty banter, antics, and conversations with the Deep Ops team were a touching display of their strong bonds and family-like unit. The addition of Dana’s family, their interactions, and the disastrous wedding were fantastic and laugh-out-loud funny. Roscoe, the dog, was hilarious and one of my favorite characters in the series; he has been amusing in all the books.
It was thrilling to watch the sparks fly between Wolfe and Dana as they challenged each other at every turn. There was just an amazing magnetism between them from the start and I loved watching their relationship grow from friends to more.
There was really so much to enjoy in this book, from the beginning to the end it was a great read. Plenty of action, intrigue, suspense, danger, and slow-burn romance with charming characters and a wonderfully well-written storyline that will pull you in. I just really cannot say enough about this book, it was awesome and then some.
I am really looking forward to the next book in the series.
*I received an arc from the publisher via NetGalley and I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
Former Navy SEAL, Clarence Wolfe’s unit was taken out with a landmine in Afghanistan. When he realizes it wasn’t an accident he is determined to bring down the man responsible. Reporter Dana Mulberry is determined to find out what happened to her friend, even if it means going undercover at a BDSM club. When she runs into Wolfe, they decide to work together to find the information they are both seeking. But how long can they deny the attraction between them.
I was so excited to get an ARC of this book because I have been waiting for Wolfe’s story since he was introduced. The sparks have been flying between Wolfe and Dana since they ran into each other and I knew their story was going to be a good one.
“I’ve always indulged myself with Sweets, Dana. You’re the sweetest thing in my life, in any life, and I’m keeping you. I love you. Always.”
Wolfe is a little crazy. He clearly suffers from TBI (traumatic brain injury) from the explosion that killed his unit. But he has learned to live with it and use it to his advantage. He is extremely controlling but Dana has a way of getting him to loosen up. Dana is the perfect woman for Wolfe because she challenges him and makes him feel alive again. She doesn’t let him hide his emotions and live for revenge.
Dana is a reporter who is known for her investigation skills. I liked her from the start. She is smart, determined, and yet still very feminne. I liked how she was always standing up to him and pushing him. She never let him control everything and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind to him.
I really enjoyed the romance between these two. It was perfect and just what I expected for this couple. Zanetti really knows how to write a great romance between characters. I really can’t wait for Force’s story. I want him to find happiness so bad.
*ARC provided by Netgalley for an honest review.*
Clarence Wolfe was on a mission in Afghanistan, when he whole team was killed in an explosion. He returns to the States determined to find the man responsible for the killings. He is the muscle behind the Deep Ops team, who are a group of people that are on the bottom of the totem pole of the Homeland Department. Dana Mulberry is a journalist who is trying to find out who killed her friend, a fellow reporter. She is undercover at a sex club when she runs into Wolfe. The man they are both investigating happens to be the same man and when they are shot at, Wolfe takes her home with him to keep her safe. Wolfe is a loner but the longer he’s around Dana, the further under his skin she gets. Wolfe never thought a family was in the cards for him but what he doesn’t realize is, the team is his family.
Drugs, explosion, a dog that drinks alcohol, plenty of action and some oh so hot sex. This is a story that will have you laughing, on the edge of your seat, and then needing a cold shower. Could not put this book down and can’t wait for the next one.
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for NetGalley *
I’ve been waiting for Wolfe’s story, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. He and Dana have danced around each other for a while now, so it’s truly fitting the way they have to spend more time together. Add in Roscoe, Kay, the rest of the gang, and a new face or two and you’ve got the best book in the series so far.
I loved the push and pull between Dana and Wolfe, as well as the lack of serious drama between the two of them. It’s not like they need it, what with the danger swirling around them and getting closer every day. There was some humor in the way of Roscoe and wedding bingo, a lot of danger, some mystery, and the HEA that they both richly deserve. I couldn’t put this book down because I just HAD to know how it would all come together in the end.
Now, I must wait patiently(ish) to see how this group will further thwart their handlers and solve the next mystery.
Broken is a firestorm of passion, danger, humor, and sizzling hot romance! It was everything I was hoping for and so much more.
This book had a lot of spectacular action and some good heart to go with the many twists and turns. I was also pleasantly surprised with Wolfe. He was so cool, charming, 100% alpha and had a way about him that made him irresistible. Yes, he was downright sexy and fierce, but he was also smart and caring and protective of those he considered family. Dana was also a very likable character too! She was sharp and smart and sweet and cared deeply for those around her. Wolfe and Dana’s chemistry was snap, crackling and popping throughout the book and in between the danger. I very much enjoyed and got a big thrill watching the sparks fly and the humor….my goodness, there was enough humor and funny moments to put a genuine smile on my face. This book had it ALL and I honestly just can’t get enough of these Deep Ops guys and gals!
Broken gets a DANGEROUS FIVE RED HOT STARS! Rebecca Zanetti keeps me coming back BEGGING for more.
