BrockI know the first time I see mating marks on my body that something is different about them from all the others I’ve seen. Of course, I’ve always been different. Larger than most males, I’m the first of the Mayten Family Line to serve in the Space Fleet Program on the Discovery.Becoming a medical doctor and meeting Atticus has literally been life saving. After being exposed to my sadistic … being exposed to my sadistic future Promised on Quasar, there have many sleepless nights to come to terms with what my future will truly be.
Now, all that’s changed. But am I too different from my Quasar brothers to be unconditionally accepted by an Earth female? Will she be able to trust me the way I need?
Brittney
When I land a customer service position almost immediately out of high school, I prove that I can handle anything thrown my way. It’s my mantra. I’ll do anything to keep from being a continual burden on my mother and society. After all, it’s only a matter of time before I’m in a wheelchair and most likely—trapped at home.
When I’m offered a chance to be healed, there really isn’t anything that could make me turn it down. Even finding out my new mate comes from the most volatile lineage in their society. After all, I can talk down the most irrational idiots. How different could this be?
What I don’t expect, is to enjoy it. But his possessiveness and dominating personality does strange things to me. And I like it…

Book ten in the A Sci-Fi Alien Romance: The Quasar Lineage series a well written story with a very good storyline the story flowed smoothly across the pages. I will be reading the next book. This is human Brittney and medical doctor and Quasar Brock’s story. There is suspense, drama, danger, evil Marels, and romance. I enjoyed reading this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Brock was the first of the Mayten Family Line to serve in the Space Fleet Program on Quasar and is a medical doctor on the Discovery. Atticus is teaching him the systems that they use in their work. When Atticus and Brock start to gasp for air, Brock notices mating marks appearing on them, as well as on others in the hallway outside the medical bay door. Brock’s marks are very dark, more of them than the others have and, as he looks at their pattern, they look eerily familiar to him!
Brittney has an irreversible genetic disease, limb-girdle muscular dystrophy diagnosed when she was 12 — that means it is only a matter of time until she ends up in a wheelchair. She doesn’t want to be a burden to her mom. So when she is given a chance to be healed, she accepted the deal, leaving Earth to join her alien mate. Although she was told that her mate comes from the most volatile lineage in their society, she is not upset by the fact, figuring that if she can talk down the most irrational idiots in her customer service job, handling a difficult alien won’t be a problem.
Brock and Brittany connect right away without any hesitation. Brock also finds that Brittany is able calm him when he needs it. She is definitely the one he needs in his life. Will their mating work out? What will the future bring to them?
I struggled with the first part of the book because I hadn’t read any of the previous books (although I purchased the entire series). But it became easier as I continued and the story line was very good. Both Brock and Brittney were great characters who were really good together. I look forward to reading more of this series.
Brittany is headed for a wheelchair. When given a chance to be healed she leaves earth and gets a mate of an alien so she took the deal. Brock and Brittany connect right away. Brock is from the Mayten Family line and he is bigger than he other brethren. Brock also finds that Brittany can calm him when he needs it. This is the 10th book of this series. Each book is different with the mating marks popping out when said warriors mates are near. Pearl Tate has become one of my favorite Sci-Fi authors. 3 1/2 stars Warning light bondage and consensual spanking. This is a good series. I’ve read several of these books and have a couple of more I’ve yet to read. I like the concept of fated mates and mating marks. The world building is excellent and you really feel for the aliens and their situation. The author doesn’t say it but the males are in a state of slavery to the females. I also like the concept of finding women with genetic diseases to be their mates. The men get to experience love for the first time in their lives and the mates get healed. And love of course.
You do need to read Atticus’s Angel first because this book tells much of the same story but from a different perspective. There is information in Atticus’s story that will make this story a little clearer. Though there is information in this book that isn’t in the other and it extends past the end of the other book. If you don’t read any of the other stories read these two. They are like one long book and Atticus’s angel tells you enough that you don’t have to read the previous books.
Two for me big negatives. First the editing. The author did say this is a rough draft but it was really bad and there is a history of bad editing in her books. So I’m going somewhere in the middle assuming that the editing will be improved but don’t hold out hope of it being excellent though she might surprise me. Second there is way too much sex. There were other topics she could have expounded on instead. Don’t get me wrong, the author is a very good writer but I believe a story should be more about the plot than sex. You do get a good story and this book answers alot of questions and gives an ending to Atticus’s angel which I didn’t feel ended on a conclusion of the story being kind of a cliffhanger. So I deducted a little for sex and editing but I definitely recommend these books. The stories are worth any flaws.
