Brock Lassiter has it all: good looks, good health, and the best job in the world. As a defenseman for the Las Vegas Sidewinders hockey team, he’s the luckiest bastard on earth. If only he could stop getting in trouble. One more screw-up and the team won’t renew his contract. He needs to clean up his act, but he’s not interested in a ball and chain—even if it comes in the form of the woman he’s … he’s been fantasizing about for years.
Hollywood starlet Ashleigh Hunter is living the dream with a role on one of the hottest shows on television. Her life would be complete if only she could adopt the sweet orphan girl she’s fallen in love with, but a single 25-year-old woman who spends the majority of her time in the spotlight may not be able to get custody.
When Brock and Ashleigh find themselves accidentally married, they balk. There’s no denying the chemistry between them, but a marriage of convenience? Who does that anymore? Apparently, they do—and it’s not what either of them are expecting.

5 SPORTING stars. There is a super HOT hockey player inside the pages of this wonderful book. 100% Sport Romance.
Dear god of the sport romance books please have mercy of my soul because I am left speechless after reading Brock. I am still over the moon. This was such a wonderful read. There wasn’t a better way to spend my day than reading this book.
Brock is the seventh book of Las Vegas Sidewinders Series and it can be read as a stand alone. But if you are into sinful hockey players, you won’t want to miss the other books of the series.
Sinfully written, this book offers you a fabulous plot and wonderful characters. The pace is fast and continuous. It will leave you wanting more and more.
Kat Mizera never disappoints her readers. For me she is the queen of the Sport Romance. Her men are simply delicious. They are sweet sinful wet dreams! This time she delivers a brilliant story where the heroine is a beautiful actress and she has tremendous issues with the trust department. The hero is a sexy hockey player who does not do relationships. They will be an explosive couple.
Ashleigh has trust issues. She is so careful with her life because a little angel depends on her. She wants to give the angel a family. Brock will change radically her world with her sexy self and confident personality. She is afraid of her feelings. She is afraid of giving all and being hurt at the end. There is no way to deny the powerful chemistry. She will take the chance to open her heart.
Brock is a cocky hockey player who doesn’t give hearts and flowers. His career is in danger because of his bad actions. Everything has a consequence and Brock could lose his contract because of his bad decisions. However Ashleigh will represent redemption, a new start. She could give him the stability he needs. But he must be very careful.
Ashleigh and Brock need each other. He need stability. She need a family. The attraction between them is pure dynamite.
I highly recommend this book for those who love sport romance, for those who wants something refreshing. This book is a bookish perfection.
I did enjoy the characters – TV/Movie actress and Hockey player, but several of the plot twists were really stretching it.
The entire Sidewinders series and Brock is an on the edge of your seat read. You will fall for each character and their brand of loving their women while waiting for the other shoe to drop! Elizabeth @ White Hot Reads
Brock is a deliciously favorite character in the series! It does not hurt that he is a smoking hot bearded hockey player! Brock and Ashleigh long for each other to a point of need! Elizabeth @ White Hot Reads
Brock and Ashleigh have found themselves in a accidental marriage or convenience! He needs to stay out of trouble and a wife can do that for him, she needs a husband so that she can adopt the foster daughter that she currently has custody of and loves deeply! They both agree but they never banked on Love or Forever. Can they make this work? #Sidewinderscanmakeanythinghappen
Kat Mizera has managed to also introduce to more of the teammates from the Sidewinders team! I cannot wait for their stories! #VLAD #IAN #YUMMY
A new book in the Las Vegas Sidewinders world. It can be read as a standalone and even if you are not a ice hockey ( like me) it is a great read. The focus of the story is with the main characters and their relationship.
Ansleigh and Brock have both been hurt in the past, but together they are opening up themselves for another chance. It is a very emotional journey with ups and down. Secrets, distance and insecurities all try and ruin their relationship.
It is a beautiful, well written book, with funny, sweet, tender and sexy moments.

This book starts out great for me. I love the build up to Brock and Ash meeting, and then their journey. I’m happy that this wasn’t the completely cliche “wake-up-married” where we don’t get to see the background to the lovers.
Ashleigh’s insecurities make her so relatable, that I felt like we were one person, puling me right into the story. Having Brock be so patient and showing her when he has his own hang ups is the perfect recipe for these two.
There are always ups and downs with couples, Brock and Ashleigh being no different, but how they work through their issues is so realistic and one of the things I love about the Sidewinders World. It brings a sense of fantasy, but I’ve always felt I can relate.
Brock and Ashleigh are meant to be, and this HEA is not one to miss!
What a beautiful story of the unexpected marriage that becomes a true love for both parties involved. Kat does it again showing all the twist and turns characters can take and truly have their happily ever after.
Brock Lassiter has everything he wants out of life . . . a professional hockey player for the Las Vegas Sidewinders, he just needs to keep his nose clean and avoid any more bad press and stay out of trouble so the team renews his contract. He also wants to avoid any sort of relationship past a one night stand at all costs . . . being cheated on once was enough.
Ashleigh Hunter seems to be living a charmed life as a co-star on a hot tv show. Having come from poverty, however, she loves giving back to the community. When she finds a young girl living in a homeless shelter with her older sister, she decides to not only foster the young girl, but try to adopt her as well. Being single and in the spotlight, however, won’t make that process easy . . . especially when the older sister and her gangbanger boyfriend refuse to relinquish custody.
Introduced by friends, Brock and Ashleigh immediately hit it off. When Brock asks to see Ashleigh again, she refuses because she knows he doesn’t want anything series. But, for the first time in a long time, Brock wants more than one night. When he convinces Ashleigh to visit Vegas for a date, they have the time of their lives . . . and wake up married in the morning!
When the last thing either of them needs is negative media attention, they decide to stick it out until Ashleigh can finalize the adoption. With off the charts chemistry and a whole lot of mistrust and baggage from prior relationships between them, can their marriage of convenience end up being more than either expected?
Kat Mizera scored the game winning goal with Brock! I really loved this book and story. Both Brock and Ashleigh seem to have everything that anyone could want, but when it comes down to the things that matter, they are lonely and have both suffered through miserable relationships in their pasts. While he doesn’t even realize it, Brock yearns for stability. While a ready made family should terrify him, he finds himself filling the role of husband and father much easier than he thought he would . . .and even more surprisingly, he likes it. Even though she’s a famous tv star, Ashleigh has never thought of herself as beautiful, yet Brock makes her feel gorgeous and sexy for the first time in her life. And, adopting Bella and providing a home for her is truly her heart’s desire.
I loved watching Brock man up and Ashleigh learn to depend on someone other than herself. Their relationship is an amazing journey of growth and development as both individuals and as a couple. Throw in an adorable 8 year old and two mother’s who love interfering in their children’s lives and their marriage of convenience suddenly seems very real and something worth fighting for if they can both be on the same page at the same time when it comes to trusting in themselves and each other.
This is a must-read book. It’s got romance and depth of plot with a few unexpected twists that kept me absolutely entranced. I couldn’t wait for this couple to find their way to a happy ever after and Kat Mizera did not disappoint. 5 stars!
Ashleigh had Brock have been on a date and during there second date they get married. As they learn to deal with her job and his job, and all the things that come with a new relationship can they find a love that will last for their own happily ever after.
Love this book! It’s an awesome hockey romance series. I can’t wait for the next book!!
I thoroughly enjoyed Brock. He jumped right into a situation that he didn’t have to because he knew Ashleigh as worth it! Who says Hollywood actresses and Sexy hockey players can’t make it work?!
If you are looking for a great new read you want to read this, it’s unlike anything I have read before. Brock is book 8 in the Las Vegas Sidewinders series, this was my first read by Kat Mizera. I was hooked at the 1st page. You can read most of the books in this series as stand alone, I suggest to go ahead and read them all, as I am in the process of doing.
Such an awesome book that I fell in love with the characters. One of the best authors around defiantly a must read

There were parts of this book that I really enjoyed, and there were parts that seemed a little off to me.
Oddly, they were pretty evenly spaced throughout the whole book.
Brock and Ashleigh meet because one of Brock’s teammates is dating one of Ashleigh’s friends, and the relationship and the attraction worked for me, they seemed real…at first. But, the accidental marriage never felt totally right for me. There were comments made by other characters that seem to imply that neither of them would act like this…so I was never sure if I was supposed to think that this was in character, or completely out of it for them.
There was a really quick turnaround of one of the characters at the end of the book that also didn’t work for me. It isn’t a major part of the plot, by that point, but it was off.
The book had it’s good points and it also had some places where the balance of the characters and story, the plot and what the characters needed to do to make the plot work, just didn’t quite mesh.
I didn’t totally dislike the story, and it was enjoyable, there were just parts that seemed a little unrealistic, enough so that it took me out of the story.
Las Vegas Sidewinders series is awesome! All these hockey players are awesome and how they care about each other like family. Brock doesn’t do relationship. Ashleigh don’t want to jeopardize the adoption of 8 years old Bella but when they met, chemistry happen and is like love at first sight, not only with Brock and Ashleigh but also with Bella! This story is awesome, how Brock find himself moving from a no relationship man to a family man in no time! I really liked the story of Brock and Ashleigh and how Kat keep bringing all the other players to the story. This book is awesome and must read!
This is the first book by this author that I have read and I found myself really enjoying it. I’m not a huge fan of “fake” marriages but this one made sense to me. I enjoyed getting to know Brock, Ashleigh, Bella and the rest of the supporting characters. I, however, wasn’t always a fan of Ashleigh’s. I can understand her trust issues and her desire to do as good as she possibly could. But she seemed to keep pulling herself in and not letting things out. A marriage takes work, effort, and sacrifice. She didn’t seem to want to do any of that. She wanted it all to work her way and if it couldn’t she would do it on her own. But she seemed happier when she wasn’t doing it on her own so I didn’t understand the whole lack of communication thing. Brock wasn’t perfect either, no man is. He could have found plenty of times to explain his insecurities to Ashleigh instead of letting his fears get in the way. I did like how he stepped up when it came to Bella though. He really showed how great of a guy he could be with the help of that little girl. Overall I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this series in the future.
