Please note: This book was previously published as Dear Bridget I Want You. Only the title and cover have been changed. All other content remains the same. From the New York Times Bestselling authors of Stuck-Up Suit and Mister Moneybags, comes a new, sexy standalone novel.Dear Bridget,I’m writing this letter because it’s highly doubtful I’ll ever garner the courage to say this to your face. So, … this to your face.
So, here goes.
We’re totally wrong for each other. You’re the proper single mum with a good head on your shoulders. I’m just the carefree British doctor passing through town and temporarily living in your converted garage until I head back to England.
But here’s the thing… for some bloody reason, I can’t stop thinking about you in very inappropriate ways.
I want you.
The only reason I’m even admitting all of this to you right now is because I don’t believe it’s one-sided. I notice your eyes when you look at me, too. And as crass as I appear when we’re joking around about sex, my attraction to you is not a joke.
So, what’s the purpose of this note? I guess it’s a reminder that we’re adults, that sex is healthy and natural, and that you can find me just through the door past the kitchen. More specifically, it’s to let you know that I’m leaving said door cracked open from now on in case you’d fancy a British bedmate in the middle of the night sometime.
No questions asked.
Think about it.
Or don’t.
Whatever you choose.
It’s doubtful I’ll even end up sliding this letter under your door anyway.
–Simon

What an enjoyably powerful, yet humorous romance. Simon is a wet dream! He’s got the bod, the brains and unbeknown to him until now, a big heart that’s ready to fall in love.
Pulling a fishhook out of Bridget’s rear is definitely a new way of “hooking up” to me.
These two were complete opposites, but fit oh so good together, even with all the bloody obstacles they had to wade through. Some seriousness right here, that will break your heart, but Simon is a great fixer.
I loved this whole journey, the good and the bad, and the unexpected. Excellent!
Simon can say just about anything and have 90% of the population swooning. This sexy British doctor is the prescription you never knew you needed, can’t get better without, and can’t help but become addicted to.
It’s a catch-22 but I am willing a lifelong addiction to Dr. H. As long as he never stops reading from my ereader we will forever be perfect. Sexy, naughty, and loves naughty books, Simon is a catch for not only Bridget but a perfect morsel for readers too.
Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward have stolen my heart, turned me into a smiling pile of mush yet again. And all they had to do was introduce me to Simon!
British Bedmate (A Series of Standalone Novels Book 5) by: Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland (Audiobook)
Narrated by: Zachary Webber & Andi Arndt
5 Stars – I Loved this book. I wanted to stay up all night and listen to it.. I couldn’t sadly but first chance I got I finished it. Bridget and Simon were fantastic together. They had a great first meeting, I thought there notes to each other were endearing, and the two of them made me laugh often. This book was sweet, funny, sexy and heartwarming. Just what the doctor ordered. Pun intended.
Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt did a fantastic job with their narration, really loved it.

Absolutely Brilliant !!
Dr.Simon Hogue and Nurse Bridget Valentine’s Romance had me Hooked Literally from the start.
Bridget is a widow with an 8 year old son and Simon is the young Hot British Doctor who comes unexpectedly into her life, turning her existence upside down and her hormones too…He is her yoga instructors best friend who needs a place to stay.Bridget could use the money so rents him a space within her home.
They soon become flirty friends who are incredibly attracted to one another and things stay that way until Simon writes Bridget a Letter about how he feels and when bridget writes a letter back not intending for him to read it..but he does and then Everything Changes.
This was such a sexy, swoony funny story..I adore Simon probably for the fact he loved Bridget even though she was older and even when she tried to put him off anything happening between them because she was older and her body wasn’t that of a young woman.Simon didn’t care and pursued her anyway because she was beautiful in his eyes SWOON !..I also LOVED Simons relationship with Brendan,Bridget’s 8 year old son how they got close and became friends it melted my heart.
Dear Bridget I Want You is another success for Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland it was superb in every way.
I Highly Recommend it
5 Stars
This was your typical steamy romance that you have come to know Ward and Keeland for. It was well written, good storyline that kept you pulled in and just steamy enough. I’m not a huge fan of medical based romances but this one wasn’t bad.
I’ve had this PB sitting in my library for quite some time [Dear Bridge, I Want You]… TBH the cover was throwing me off. This is the perfect example of “Don’t-Judge-A-Book-By-Its-Cover”
I had been struggling with getting into a book and this one pulled me from my funk.
This was a fun sexy read with a dirty talking, sweet talking, swoon worthy doctor. OMGaaaaah he’s Hot and Adorable.
This story had so much feeling. I truly enjoyed it.
I adore these women. Their writing and character building abilities are second to none. You’ll laugh and cry and yell—then you’ll start the story all over again.
I loved reading British Bedmate. It is a fabulous story featuring two amazing characters that I connected with immediately.
I absolutely adore Simon. I found he had the qualities that I would usually seek when forming friendships and being the hot doctor that he is…. I’d probably be wishing for more than just being his friend. He is fun, cheeky and flirty BUT it is the passion, determination and compassion that he shows is what I loved most about him.
I understood Bridget’s journey completely and after everything she had been through I wished that she would find happiness again. I loved how thought provoking this story is because both Simon and Bridget have so much to consider and work through before moving from friendship status into a relationship.
I loved the chemistry between the pair and they got on so well together too. Their interactions made the story so enjoyable and I thought that the authors wrote this book very well indeed. Five must read stars is what I award British Bedmate.
If ever a bloke belongs in the Cocky Hero World, it is this guy! Right from the get go Simon shows his cocky confidence. Oh, he’s a charmer, that one. Bridget, on the other hand, is more reserved. She’s a widower who is working hard to provide for her son as a single mom, with no real desire to start dating again. Simon has his sight set on her though, and doesn’t give up easily. This is a quick moving story. There are a few heavier moments, amongst the humor and general light hearted banter. There are also a couple surprise twists. There are also several sweet moments. While the sexual content (the acts) are minimal, there is a lot of talk and innuendos throughout. (That Simon is a dirty talker.) Over all it is a good fun read. It alternates between POVs.
It was funny and easy to read
Freaking loved this book! Was completely sucked in from a blurb someone shared and so glad I jumped on it. Loved the instant chemistry and the mouth on Simon. Though it was a hard worn fight for these two to come together it was well and truly worth it.
Bridget is a hard working nurse and mother, managing it all alone since losing her husband a couple years ago. But she never expected to end up in the ER herself, much less with her bare backside presented to the most gorgeous doctor she’d ever seen. When Bridget realizes the same man is moving into her rental she’ll have to guard her heart when Simon makes it clear he doesn’t want a family.
Dr. Simon Hogue is finishing up his residency in Rhode Island, before heading back to England, when he attends to a beautiful woman in the ER that catches his attention with all her curves and sass. He can’t help but tease her, and loves that she throws it right back at him. The more he gets to know Bridget and her son the more he questions his previous decisions.
The letters and electricity between Simon and Bridget is off the charts, but they are on different paths with their lives, leaving Simon with the biggest decision of his life.
I loved this book and the twists and surprises will have your jaw dropping!
5 star review British Bedmate by Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland
I loved this one. The story captured my attention and from the first to the last chapter I was invested in Bridget and Simon’s story.
I fell hard and fast for Simon, he is totally swoon worthy and absolutely ticked all the boxes for me.
I enjoyed the fact that Simon and Bridget tried to stay just friends but the attraction that sizzled between them was to much to ignore.
This was a fun light hearted romance that I thoroughly enjoyed.
“Come on. I promise. I’ll be serious. We can have Storytime with Simon. Sit back with your wine and I’ll read to you.”
Another fabulous addition to the Cocky Hero series. British Bedmate has heartwarmingly beautiful narrative, the characters are relatable and hide behind fortified walls. Love finds us when we least expect it, especially if we choose to take a risk.
Like the nurses he worked with I fell in love with this cocky English doctor. There was something charming and endearing about Simon, that pulled me in instantly. He was cheeky and loved to shock people with sexual innuendo, but beneath the surface was a very different man. Simon was caring, did anything to put a smile on anyone’s face. Bridget and Brendan wormed their way under his skin and into his heart. Unfortunately this was temporary, he was returning to England. He needed to end this before he wouldn’t be able to.
Women are our own best enemy and Bridget is no different. Widowed, single mum, who is older than our hero, second guesses herself and Simon’s interest. She is older than him, he’s gorgeous and could have anyone he chooses, she has baggage…I’m sure Bridget could find more reasons why she should not take a chance. Feelings of guilt and being scared are holding her back, but a series of circumstances give her the push she didn’t know she needed.
An enjoyable quick read written by authors I love! I was looking for a lighter fun book to read and this was perfect for that!
3 1/2 stars
Officially one of my favorite books now. I loved every minute of it. It was a story full of so much heart and emotion and so many laugh out loud moments. Bridget is a widow, a single mother, and a nurse. She decides to rent out a room in her house to a friend of her best friend. She didn’t expect that friend to be sexy British doctor Simon. They had already met when he helped her with a medical issue and they hadn’t forgotten about each other. Bridget has no room in her life for romance. She is still emotional over the death of her husband and she is focused on her son. Simon doesn’t do relationships. He just wants to have fun. But the two aren’t ready for the feelings they have for each other. Just when they decide maybe they can give in to the temptation, a huge secret is exposed and their worlds are in whirlwind. I didn’t see it coming at all. I was literally listening in my car and had to stop and yelled “OH MY GOD!” So believe me when I tell you that this book has it all: romance, drama, emotion, humor, steam, shocking moments, heart felt scenes… You will fall in love with it right away. I guarantee it. As if the story isn’t good enough on it’s own, these narrators turned it up a notch. This definitely should be experience in the ears. I loved it so much I bought the paperback right away.
Being married to a Brit, I wanted to try out this steamy romance. Nice “happily ever after” plot between a visiting resident doctor and the divorced, mother-of-one nurse he falls in love with. I loved that a mother could be portrayed as a sexy lead. The added British slang to the male lead seemed a bit purposefully placed and perhaps Googled rather than part of the natural flow. I would have rather had the characters actually taken a trip to the UK to get that British feel, but that’s minor. Overall, the book provides great pacing and fulfills romance novel expectations.
Anything, EVERYTHING by these authors!
When Bridget lands in the emergency room of the hospital with a fishhook in her rear, don’t ask, she is beyond embarrassed. When the doctor on call comes into her cubicle, her mouth drops. Not only is he a Brit but absolutely gorgeous! Trying to make her laugh while trying to extract the hook, Bridget is definitely not relaxed, having this beautiful man looking at her rear. The fact that she hasn’t been with a man in years, isn’t helping. When she lost her husband two years ago, she had to be strong for her son. Now that he’s eight, she hasn’t even begun to think of dating or even having a man look at her rear, even if it was in an emergency situation.
Simon needs a place to live stat, temporarily, that is. While he’s doing his residency in the US, he knows he’ll return back to England to take over his father’s medical practice. When a friend gives him the number of a place that is renting, and it’s his if he’s interested. Wow, that was easy. His friend told him it was his sister that is renting a room above her garage. What he wasn’t planning on was the gorgeous patient with the hook in her rear to be his landlord.
Bridget is going to kill her brother, now the sexy doctor that saw her bum is her tenant! Actually after a week, she is delighted. He’s neat and her son is in awe with him. The problem is that she is really attracted to him.
Simon is really attracted to Bridget, but what’s the point, he’s not sticking around and she has a son! One night after another cold shower, Simon writes Bridget a letter, telling her his feelings. Also in the letter, he mentioned that from now on he would be leaving the door to his room open, in case she wants to have some healthy and hot sex with him. He never intended to deliver the letter, except the next morning when her son wakes him up, and he sees the letter missing, he finds out that it was delivered to her. What will Bridget do now that she knows his feelings.
Reading what Simon wrote, Bridget really wants to take action and go to him that night. Can she get the courage to act on her feelings.
This book was sooooo good! I couldn’t put it down!
I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review
I cannot even explain how much I adored this book. Simon and Bridget went on a beautiful journey of friendship, overcoming the past, and unconditional love. I enjoyed every single second of this story.
