“An exciting, sexy, and convincing dream-come-true.”-Manic Readers Single mom Claire Abby is the glue that holds her dad and her college-bound daughter together, so when her journalism career takes a nosedive, she has to resuscitate it. Now the biggest interview of her life hinges on convincing a notoriously private man to spill his secrets. If only he wasn’t one of the sexiest guys ever… guys ever…
Tall, square-jawed Christopher Penman isn’t simply a famous Brit. He was Claire’s celebrity crush when she was a teen. In person, he’s everything she worried about—unfairly handsome, utterly charming, and completely nerve wracking. Claire has no choice but to ask the tough questions, the ones he’s avoided for a decade, but Chris isn’t talking…he’s flirting.
Before Claire can get her head straight, an improbable friendship forms. Then there’s a kiss…and an invitation…and ultimately, nights Claire once only dreamed of. But as they grow closer, she learns that Chris’s pain runs deep. When his heartbreaking history repeats itself, will Claire risk her future—and her heart—to save her love with the man she could never forget?
“For every woman who had a teenage crush on a rock star and still secretly wishes her fantasy would become reality. Smart, sexy and fun, with enough realism that it could be you.”-USA Today bestselling author Louise Bay

Loved this book! Loved the characters!! Tickled my memories and love of 80’s Rick bands. And my imagination that this could happen!
I’m going to share something with y’all…I was ecstatic to be reading a book where the MCs are my age! 🙂 This was rather refreshing to read following my last few reads. That’s not to say it didn’t have its angsty moments. But I delighted in this tale of a woman who’s approaching 40 and gets to live out her teenage fantasy of meeting her ultimate teenage crush.
Now, I didn’t chair any fan clubs for bands when I was a teenager but I certainly crushed on some rock stars – Simon Le Bon or Bono anyone?!? Claire Abby’s dreamboat was one Christopher Penman; the guitarist for the band Banks Forest. She had very elaborate fantasies of this man including sex in the clouds requiring no birth control.
Nineteen years later, she’s a music critic and she’s just been offered the chance of a lifetime. Christopher Penman has had a rough go over the past several years. He’s endured a nasty divorce and a failed attempt at a solo career. He’s now getting his life together and is set to release another solo record. In an attempt for good publicity, he’s agreed to an exclusive interview. He never dreamed the sparks would fly – in a good way for once – between himself and his interviewer.
A beautiful romance blossoms between Claire and Chris – one that is allowed to bloom slowly. There are bumps along the way, such as the need to keep their relationship under wraps until the article is published. However, they make their way over every obstacle – eventually – and Claire’s dream comes true. The best part, though, is that it’s not all dreamy. It’s not a glam story about a rock star’s life…it’s real life and it’s very poignant.
One element that makes this story so enjoyable is the cast of supporting characters. Claire’s daughter, Sam, is a pistol! And as a mother of a teenage daughter and a soon-to-be teenage daughter – well, although there are some eye-popping moments, I do hope to have and maintain an open relationship with my daughters like the one between Claire and Sam. Claire’s dad is such a grumpy old man who’s always sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong. But he always means well. Even Chris’ bandmate Graham was a hoot!
Overall, I adored this book. The title would seem to imply something along the lines of Chris’s career being revived. However, I feel it’s more about real love bringing Chris and Claire to life. And it’s a lovely reveal. 🙂
Like reading this one a lot because they were older and established. They lived their life and could emotionally handle life. Both of them had their own issues that could have been handled better. He should have claimed her first and then worked about the logistics later. They had something worth saving.

Claire is s writer who just landed an interview with Christopher Penman. Chris was her teenage crush.
It’s a nice what if. Single mom, a sandwich generation (mom and daughter).
I liked that Claire was pushing forty and rejected Chris at first. They get to know each other. He just went thru a public divorce.

Now that I’ve reached the end of this story, I find that I just don’t have any words to explain where this book took me. It’s a bit of a slower build than I usually go for, but once it reaches it’s peak, it’s an emotional roller-coaster from there. I love the idea of Claire finally getting the opportunity to meet her teenage rock-god crush, and those long-ago fantasies turning into reality. I like that Chris is so real and relatable even though he’s in the middle of a media crap-storm. I don’t know if any of the rest of us would be able to handle what he’s going though in the public eye and do it with the class and grace he does. But he’s also human, which means he’s just as likely to make mistakes as anyone else; contributing to the drama and angst of the story. Don’t get me wrong, Claire’s not immune to making her own mistakes. And that’s maybe one of the things I like best about this story; nobody’s perfect and we get to witness Claire and Chris learn how to be better people.

Claire, a single mum, is raising a teenager daughter & works freelance as a writer. She is approached to do an interview with Chris, a former teenage crush from a group, who is now a solo artist. This will make or break both their careers.
Initially they size the other up & use tactics to get the best from each other. However this develops into more but this could ruin people’s opinion of her objectivity in her article.
They decide to make a go of it but of course there is always something that will derail their journey. Both make decisions they regret. So you will have to read it to find out what happens to them.
Claire & Chris’s story is continued in the next book.

This was a great read of falling in lust?love and the consequences of it when it is so strong that you can’t ignore it. I really liked that Claire and Chris were older as I connected with them more so than if they were in their 20’s. But the story still shows that when you fall for someone sometimes all sensibility walks out the door, the fact that there are growing pains between Claire and her daughter Sam and the relationship with her father. Definitely a book you can drawn into and stay with until the end, I do just recommend you get comfy as it isn’t a short book but it’s well worth it.

A sweet complicated romance
This is a sweet story about having your childhood dream come true! Claire gets the job of interviewing Chris, her teenage crush for Rolling Stone magazine. What follows is a steamy cross country romance that is complicated by deception. Will Claire and Chris have their happily ever after? You have to read to find out and won’t put the book down till you finish it in one sitting.
Bring Me Back by Karen Booth. Christopher and Claire. Claire has always had a crush on Chris. She has followed his career forever. Now she has an opportunity to interview him and spend time with him. She is over the moon. When she meets Chris he isn’t exactly who or what she thought he was. As Chris opens to her they start to build a connection, a very strong connection that couldn’t be denied. At first I not sure why but it took me a minute to get into the story. I feel that I may have to read it again. I did love how they fell in love and how they wanted to be together. It had some funny moments that I enjoyed. it’s a good read it is a little long.
