As with everything else in my life, the descent into Hell was not so simple. When I jumped into the portal I expected to find the Sins on the other side. I expected to find my people—demons—waiting and ready. What I found were flames and fire and ash.The apocalypse hadn’t waited for me. It had already begun.Hell’s barriers were collapsing in on themselves—making my task of finding the Sins … themselves—making my task of finding the Sins infinitely harder. As the Horsemen and I set out on our journey to find them, we discover that not all is what it seems.
A white-haired assassin once told me to beware of the evil that hides in plain sight.
I should have listened to her.
The fight for Hell has begun, and the duty of saving it lies solely on my shoulders, but to win—to survive—I must unravel the secrets of the past if any of us are to see the future.
I will take what is mine, even if I have to bleed for it.

I freaking floved this amazing series! It’s kind of saddening to see Ruby, Rysten, Julian, Laran, Allister, Moira, & Bandit come to an ending, but at the same time such a bittersweet ending that we got to follow them to their end of the journey. There are 2 parts in their journey, the 1st part kinda got the emotions rolling with a sprinkle of laughter that made me think to myself “OMS, no you didn’t, you B” and the 2nd part was part laughter & relief like “OMS, thank the devil, hmmm.” I don’t know but I got the feeling like this was somewhat of an open ending, a bit of a loophole meaning some questions were left unanswered, I think, & Kel Carpenter could revisit the characters if she wanted to in say 5 years later just to see how they’re doing, lol.
I wholly recommend this series!
Fantastic conclusion to this epic series. Ruby and her horsemen are flipping amazing. Not gonna lie there were some tears shed throughout this one especially with Laran. But all turned out well in the end and of course that epilogue with Bandit was spectacular! Epic series and a definite must read for Reverse Harem fans.
I read a massive amount of urban fantasy, other fantasy, and paranormal books, and Kel Carpenter is at the top of the author’s I most enjoy. Her Queen of the Damned series is a perfect demonstration of why that is so. Wildly imaginative, convoluted but easy to follow, full of wonderfully crafted characters inhabiting an equally wonderfully built universe, this series has really had everything I could want. Brimstone Nightmares (Book 4) builds on this beautifully in a thoroughly exciting, thoroughly fun, thoroughly thrilling tale. It’s not the right place to start the series (newcomers trust me and start with book 1 – you’ll soon be addicted too), but for those who have been following along it’s a totally worthy addition. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
Usually when you get to the end of a series, you feel like you’ve got a pretty good idea of how it’s all going to wrap up. Not this one! Not only did I go into it having no idea what would happen, but as events began to unfold I still was not able to predict what surprises were yet to come! It’s been quite some time since a book has taken me by surprise this much and it feels good! This was also possibly the most emotionally gripping of the series. Definitely read this book!
I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that is over . Kel did an amazing job though she had me utterly sad, beyond pissed, and on cloud 9 filled with love at times. Hate to see it end but it ended so well. Love Bandit to no end (this is the point I would put a raccoon emoji but I dont have one). This story has truly been a great adventure and journey. I loved seeing all the characters grow into themselves and find their own strengths. Lots of action and great twist that you will just love.
I think book 4 was on par with book 1 for me, I loved it and didnt want it to end! I won’t be giving things away so this review will be shorter than my others, but let me say I DIDNT SEE SOME OF THE TWISTS COMING! It made me so happy and smile when the reveals started to happen. I had to stop what I was doing to rewind the audio to make sure I didnt hear things incorrectly haha. I thought maybe 1 would be, but not all of them hahaha. If you have read it you will know what I mean. In terms of the storyline, some things I really didnt see coming that made me want to chuck my phone across the room. It made for a good, angsty story and some things were tough to listen to (if you have trigger warnings about nonconsent, just be forewarned there is some in here). So Rysten has been my fav throughout but he had to make up for some things that hurt Ruby and me hahaha. I think Ruby was levelheaded with her response though and he made up for it with some groveling and sexy time . I think the others stepped up, especially Laran at the end, and I felt for the Horsemen in the Epilogue, Allistair in particular . I was intrigued with the resolution to the baddie in this one, but I thought book 4 was a tad rushed since they had just entered Hell and everything was resolved by the end, definitely could have expanded and made it 5, but I understand where Kel was coming from.
For narration, same comments as before, issues with some of the accents. I think the added characters was done well and the performance was perfect to make me smile, scream, and cry at the end .
I was happy to see how it ended, and loved the couple epilogues, made me giggle with Bandit and Fate and loved the open-ended conclusion for Moira (and the potential lovers she could have in a future series or story!). I am definitely going to be getting these in paperback (again those covers!!) because this story helped me escape from a crazy work week that was high-stress, helped me decompress and escape even for a couple hours a day with Ruby, her crazy bestie and pet, and her delicious men.
Book review of Brimstone Nightmares (Queen of The Damned – Book 4 …
A Soul Wrenching Series Finale … What a wrap up to this 4 book series! There was drama, excitement, heartbreak, romantic endeavors and action … oh and an immortal Trash Panda!
Ruby, Moira, Bandit and the Four Horseman embark on the Wild Ride to get her to the Sins, pass their tests and help her ascend to the Throne of Hell. The journey to become Queen of The Damned is fraught with perils, loss and near madness for most of the Cast of Characters! You even get to see a possible villain become an anti-hero.
This is a well written series with an expertly crafted world and characters that jump off the page. I truly wish there was more to come!

This was the best paranormal series that I have read in awhile.
