Christian Bane is an expert at deception. It’s part of his job as a Smithson Group agent. But having been left to die by a woman he loved means a calculated seduction–even under the guise of work–has him wanting to get in and get out without getting involved.Natasha Gaudet loves hot cars, so when she arrives at her godfather’s estate to find a sexy import—and an even sexier stranger waiting in … waiting in the shadows—she’s intrigued. But things aren’t what they seem and soon Natasha is caught in a dangerous game.
The closer Christian gets to Natasha the harder it is to deceive her. His intel is faulty; Natasha’s no more a criminal than he is. They’re both being played and neither will get out alive without the other, no matter the trust—and intimacy—working together requires.

The beginning of “Brilliant Disguise” (nook) grabbed my attention and from there I was pulled into suspense. The suspense is intense and the mystery is very involved. What a scheme !!!
I also liked the touch of humor.
I couldn’t really get into this book. It was a little slower than most I’ve read. Usually I can catch up after a few chapters this book I couldn’t.
Great book with steamy scenes and a good plot line
I really enjoyed this book
Unexpected story, only thing I didn’t like is that it’s a cliffhanger.
Enjoyed this book but felt the story dragged a little. Still totally worth reading. Did feel the story was more original than many Ive read recently.
A good spy, mystery read. Sometimes it seemed a little drawn out with too much detail.
The plot seemed interesting at first, but then page after page after page of sex took over the book. I’m talking sexcapades going on for more than one chapter in a row. I still was curious how the plot would unfold and thought there was potential, so I kept going, just skipped dozens of pages at a time when the sex scenes cropped up yet again. Unfortunately, the plot was pretty slim and wound up kind of scotch-taped together with lots left by the wayside and the important pieces left hanging entirely. I will not read another in this series.
Nice book. A pleasant way to spend some down-time!
Good page turner but I was disappointed with the ending. I felt the author rushed the ending and missed the opportunity to either complete the mystery of what happened to the professor or set up the next book with a lead in.
Easy way to pass the time. Like the others in this series that I have read, there is a lot of sex, instant attraction, and little relationship development.
Great read with awesome characters
Loved this action filled romance. Great characters.
Great story, I loved it!
Feeling a little tired today. I stayed up until 2:30 this morning before I finished the book…..couldn’t put it down. Great read!!
This is a very slow moving story, since it’s a spy romance there are a lot of details. Sometimes it was hard to follow. As for Christian he is a really bad spy, he met Natasha and he was lost. Natasha and Christian were hot from the start, that was fun. In my opinion this is not one of Alison Kent’s best works, but I will continue to read the series to see if it gets any better.
I read each of the books in the series. The stories were each very good, but the endings left a lot to be desired. In each book, it felt like the characters fell in love in about 2 minutes, but the abrupt endings left a lot of questions. My personal nitpick has to do with discussing birth control before having sex which was missing in most of the books, but then some of the characters had deliberately chosen permanent birth control. There was never any discussion as to how that would impact the relationships going forward. Were the partners willing to forgo children or were interested in adoption or something else? The relationships existed in the bubble of the action or each book. I kept hoping for follow up on the characters in the subsequent books, but that didn’t happen. There really wasn’t any meet the friends, meet the families, decide where they were going to live, etc. These books desperately cried out for epilogues.
