Great book! It felt like the crimes happened so quickly but the story unfolded a little slower, like the crimes and the unfolding of them were on different speeds. Then they started to meet up in the middle and finally pass each other in the opposite direction. Interesting way to write it out. Great characters and a really different plot. I’m enjoying the budding relationship between Callahan and McLane. I think they’re great together.
THIS REVIEW IS FOR BOTH THE AUDIOBOOK AND EBOOK VERSIONS
Great story, well written and enthralling. The narration was perfect, they did a wonderful job with each of the characters. The characters were interesting. I enjoyed the plot. I recommend this book.
Like all of Kendra Elliot’s stories, this one packs a great punch. We get a continuation of our couple, Ava and JD, and see them work together under extreme pressure. I am enjoying their partnership as much as the mystery. In this book, the two detectives must combine their strengths and also watch each others’ backs. The book’s climax was a thrilling ride, and I’m excited to read more in this series. A great, fast read.
Bridged is the second book in Kendra Elliot’s Callahan & McLane series. If you read the first book in the series, then you would’ve been introduced to the main characters Mason Callahan and Ava McLane. (I love these two characters and can’t get enough of them.)
The second book focuses on them as a couple and working together again. They have to investigate a Congressman’s death and why someone would torture a Congressman and leave him hanging from a bridge. The minute they start looking into the congressman’s death, another body is found hanging from another bridge. They may be dealing with a serial killer, so they need to determine how these murders are connected before another person is killed.
Poor Ava is having to juggle not only the bridge killer case but finding her sister. Mason would rather Ava live her life and not worry about her twin sister. Unfortunately, Ava can’t do that. I feel for Ava and what she has to go through with her sister. She’s the well-behaved twin that got a great job, while her twin sister continues spiraling downwards in life. Ava wants her sister to turn around, but her sister has been like this for years, and no one sees her changing.
I love Mason in this book and how he adores Ava. You can tell how he has fallen head over heels in love with her, especially with what happens in this book toward the end. Mason and Ava were meant to be together.
I look forward to reading more of these two in the next two books in the series. Let’s not forget about the storyline and what Mason and Ava have to deal with in this book. This book is dealing with a villain that has a vendetta against the people he is killing. Readers will find out who is behind it all because Kendra always gives a POV from the villain’s side. Be prepared for some challenging elements in this book. I was rooting for the villain after finding out why the killings were happening. Was the villain the actual villain? You’ll ask the same question at the end of the book.
I enjoyed this twisted story that Kendra wrote this time around. I had to keep reading the story and got upset when I had to put down the book. I needed to know what happened next. It’s incredible what Kendra comes up with within her stories for her characters. I feel for her characters and what they have to investigate. It’s not always easy for these two characters. I can’t wait for Mason and Ava’s next investigation together.
This book receives 4.5 stars from me, and I highly recommend it for Romantic Suspense readers out there. If you haven’t read any of Kendra Elliot’s books, then you are missing out.
Ava and Mason. They are a good team. Both work for enforcement. Ava FBI and she works with Zander. Mason and Ray are partners.
Oh, OH! I finished Vanished and immediately started this one because I love this duo. Mason and Ava really have something and they click. Now they are on a task force together after a congressman is found hanging from a bridge but then there is another murder the next night and then the next, all from bridges. All this and Ava’s twin is missing and then turns up with the final victim. So many twists and turns to keep it entertaining. I am really enjoying this series and have the next one ready to start…
Audible. Available to borrow via KU in both ebook & audio. This is one of those audios that’s less expensive to buy the ebook & add audio. Less than $6 for both at the time of this review.
I loved this. Kendra Elliot is stepping up her game in terms of crafting a story with multiple moving parts that keep the reader/listener engaged while still saving surprises until almost the very end. I really enjoyed learning more about Mason Callahan and Ava McLane as individuals and as a couple. While a romance, Elliot spends a significant amount of time in Bridged on the suspense/mystery aspect and it’s a balance that works well for me. I also think she did an excellent job sharing the horrors of the crimes committed without being overwhelming.
Amy McFadden is one of my favorite narrators and pairs wonderfully with Nick Podehl in this series.
Elliot is always a great read
Let me admit two things… 1. I love the Pacific Northwest so her novels suck me in with their locations and 2. Kendra Elliot is one of the top-selling romantic suspense authors in the genre so I read to know what readers like. These books are procedurals filled with lots of technical info and an FBI agent whose twin sister is a mess. The love story, like the family drama, run through the books in a way that makes you feel like you’re with an old friend. It’s a lot like the TV shows in this formula but with more depth. They’re well researched and the plots are full of character and tension. The love story is a bit secondary, but I enjoy them. This is book 2 in a series and although they stand alone, you’ll get more out of the love story if you go in order.
Wow. Second book by Kendra Elliott that I have read and won’t be last one. Intense, scarey, and at times almost too much to handle. But still I had to finish it. Of course I could have skimmed some serial killer parts, but if you are the kind of reader who is all in, then you read it all. Only 4 Stars because of the serial killer acts, but don’t let this stop you. I am on to my next book by this author.
Storyline was well told and unfolded at a nice pace.. I like the two main characters a lot.
