A NEW YORK TIMES, USA TODAY, and PUBLISHERS WEEKLY bestsellerIn this riveting saga of temptation, grace, and unconditional love, the New York Times bestselling author of Redeeming Love and The Masterpiece delivers big-canvas storytelling at its very best.To those who matter in 1950s Hollywood, Lena Scott is the hottest rising star to hit the silver screen since Marilyn Monroe. Few know her real … star to hit the silver screen since Marilyn Monroe. Few know her real name is Abra. Even fewer know the price she’s paid to finally feel like she’s somebody.
To Pastor Ezekiel Freeman, Abra will always be the little girl who stole his heart the night he found her, a wailing newborn abandoned under a bridge on the outskirts of Haven. Zeke and his son, Joshua―Abra’s closest friend―watch her grow into an exotic beauty. But Zeke knows the circumstances surrounding her birth have etched scars deep in her heart, scars that leave her vulnerable to a fast-talking charmer who lures her to Tinseltown. Hollywood feels like a million miles from Haven, and naive Abra quickly learns what’s expected of an ambitious girl with stars in her eyes. But fame comes at a devastating price. She has burned every bridge to get exactly what she thought she wanted. Now all she wants is a way back home.
“One of the edgiest Christian romances I have had the pleasure of reading in a long while. Francine Rivers has woven a deeply moving story with an adept hand that knows just how to layer humanity, in all its beautiful and ugly truth, into almost every individual who steps onto the page.” USA Today’s Happy Ever After Blog
“This is another compelling and moving story by one of the genre’s most honored and talented writers.” Library Journal, starred review
“Rivers returns with a page-turning recasting of the story of the prodigal son, here a prodigal daughter. . . . This story arc will be particularly resonant for Christian readers, but Rivers has the writing ability to reel in others who enjoy a well-told tale of redemption.” Publishers Weekly

Thoroughly enjoyed this one. One of my faves of Francine Rivers.
Once again, Mrs. Rivers has drawn me into a life so different from my own: revealing details about a time in history that transports me better than any time machine could. She is a master at drawing me to a closer relationship with God and a better understanding of His long suffering toward us than I find in many sermons!
The life of a young girl to woman, who makes some very terrible mistakes in her life and how God brings her out of them.
Written in simple language and terms make this book easy to follow and understand. Gave this book a four due to the slow start. After continued
Reading of the first few chapters, the interest level is increased. Not the authors usual gripping story, but is likely due to the subject matter itself, slowly drawing the reader to understand the course being taken. Still a very good read.
Francine Rivers is a wonderful author. I would read anything she writes! This is a wonderful picture of God’s Grace and unconditional love.
This was a bit slow in parts but I did enjoy the characters and overall story.
Francine Rivers is my favorite Christian author and this book does not disappoint. It deals with true-to-life situations in a beautiful way.
I generally enjoy prodigal-child themed novels because I’m all about redemption but sometimes watching the journey away from home to begin with is so painful. u2060In Bridge to Haven, it was just so sad and so avoidable, if she had just LISTENED to people who tried to warn her!

At first I thought the pace of this story was slow, but then I realized we readers absolutely needed to see Abra as a child to understand her if we were going to sympathize with her. And if I can’t sympathize with a character who makes poor decisions, I don’t care what happens to him or her, and then… well, if I don’t care about that, why keep reading? All that to say, the structure and pacing of this novel was as it should be.

I also found it very interesting that recalling classic hymns helped Abra find her way back, just like hymns (or at least one hymn) helped save Angel in Redeeming Love near the end, as well.u2060
I found this to be a satisfying story (if somewhat like watching a train wreck) although I do think Abra and her husband are going to need counseling if they’re going to overcome everything Abra experienced before they got married.
Love this book so much. I can’t seem to stop rereading it
I love all of the books by Francine Rivers!
Loved this book!!! Realistic and Inspirational! Everyone who loves Francine Rivers books should read this!
I love Francine Rivers as an author. Her characters are very realistic and give you a greater sense of empathy for people in general as you understand why people do what they do and why they think in ways different from you based on their experiences.
Bridge to Haven is my favorite book of Francine Rivers. If you have never read any of her books. I would recommend this one first. This is amazingly great!!! I never wanted to book the book down. I could read the book over and over again, until the book binding broke.
I love her writing! This is raw and real and emotional and exactly how God loves us
