He’s used to getting what he wants, and what he wants is me—as his bride.I won’t give in to Gabriel’s undeniable sex appeal. I won’t fall for his charm. He won’t lift my veil of secrets. I promise to make his billionaire life miserable until he has no choice but to get rid of me.Happy wife, happy … of me.
Happy wife, happy life? I’ll let him think that.

A Marriage arranged from the grave- Gabriel Prince’s grandfather directed him to marry Clementine to get what they want or need- it was a quick read happy I waited for Groom to read right after, no waiting
BRIDE (The Deceit Duet #1) By Logan Chance
I loved this book, and I can’t wait to read Groom! I have been pretty new to Logan Chance’s work, but no more, I will be reading all of his work! This is the story of Gabriel Prince and Clementine Bright. As part of his grandfather’s finagling and control, Gabriel has to marry Clementine and stay for a year to keep his control of his empire. Clementine is an independent single mom. These two have insanely hot, sizzling chemistry that is through the moon, there is mystery, angst, and drama. Where does Ronin Prince fit into this? Bishop Blackstone? Why was this so important to Joseph Prince? Bride does end with quite the cliffhanger. I was not able to put it down until I finished it. Logan Chance grabbed my attention with this book right from the start! Definitely a 5 star read.
Such an amazing book! I finished it in one sitting and consumed every word. In true Logan Chance fashion, this book will keep you immersed in secrets, suspense and questions until the very end! This was a well written story that had me rushing to the end! And what an end it was! It left off at a perfect place & to find out what happens to Gabriel & Clementine, pre order Groom for the exciting conclusion!
Masterfully Written, Logan is a Genius
I believe in my soul that Logan is a master storyteller. I’m blown away by the way he weaves the story of Clementine and Gabriel. Logan likes to tease you with information about characters without giving too much and keeps you intrigued while watching the two characters push each other’s buttons.
Clementine agrees to Gabriel’s proposal agreement, and throws back her own demands. I love that Clementine doesn’t back down. Gabriel has never come up against someone who challenge him the way she does. There is a chemistry between Clementine and Gabriel that is either going to set them on fire, or burn everything in their path.
This story has passion, fire, romance, no HEA, and a great cliffhanger that makes you beg for more. And I definitely wanted more!!
This was a great book!
I don’t know how Logan Chance does it, but this book combines the best of the humor from previous books with the edge of his more serious books, making this book a perfect blend of both types.
When billionaire Gabriel Prince’s grandfather dies, he discovers his grandfather has tied Gabriel’s control of the Prince empire to his marriage to Clementine. Watching Gabriel and Clementine spare as they head into a marriage neither one wants was so much fun. Add Clementine’s four-year-old son Tennyson and Gabriel’s tender treatment of the young boy with the fireworks in the couple’s relationship and Logan has given us a recipe for a very enjoyable time. At the same time, there are so many hints, so many secrets, that now I’m chomping at the bit to read The Groom, the second part of this duet.
Gabriel has been given an ultimatum in his grandfather’s will. To marry. One specific woman. Clementine. And so start the moving parts of this duet. We meet Clementine. Strong, independent, feisty, and trying to resist her draw to the man she is only marrying for a year. Her adorable son, Tennyson. Her bff, Erin. Gabriel’s brother, Ronin. And of course, Gabriel. Sexy, stern, powerful, gruff, and catnip to Clementine’s libido. I can’t wait for the rest of this duet, because Logan has hooked me and I’m totally being reeled in!! More!! I need more! I love a cliffie, even more when the wait to the bottom is short. Every word draws me into this bookiverse. Can’t wait to come visit again! I want to know where the bump in the night is coming from! And when Gabriel and Clementine give in to their ever growing passion. Gets me every time. Logan never disappoints. I’m going to dream and obsess about this until Groom comes out.
I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
With each book Logan writes, they get better and better like wine. Cheesy analogy, but so truthful. This story grabs your attention from page one. The circumstances that push the pair together, the mystery behind their actions, the disdain and passion…you get it in spades. This book makes you question so many facets of the relationships you’re introduced to. You’re left trying to connect the dots almost in a whodunnit fashion. Well written, entertaining and entrancing.
Here comes the Bride, now bring on the Groom!
“Here comes the bride, all dressed in lies.” Absolutely loved this. I couldn’t stop reading once I started it. So glad I was led to this Author. I’ve now read at least 3 of his books and I don’t plan on stopping.
Clementine and Gabriel, the two protagonists, started out as enemies but by the end of this book we watched them start sliding, just a little, down the slippery slope. I loved the snarky banter between the two of them. Chance sure has a way with building up the hankering, the appetite in his readers, for wanting to know just what’s going on behind the scenes we’ve been shown. All through the book I was thirsting to know what happened to Tenny’s father? What happened to Savannah? What is really going on with Ronin and with this Bishop character? And why did Joseph Prince set this wedding up in the first place? Well, we will have to wait until the next book, #2 in the duet, Married to My Enemy to find all this out. I do love the tension in this author’s cliffhanger ending. (Especially if I can get the next book right away, and—Woohoo!—I can!). This book, #1, is short, more like a novella-length book. But Chance packs a lot of story into those pages. The plotting is tight and the story’s pace is brisk. You will be rooting for Gabriel and Clem to agree on a merger and truly become the marital allies we can see they were meant to be. 5 Stars.
This was my first time reading anything by Logan Chance. Bride was the first book in his Deceit Duet and must be read in order. It was a fast paced, suspenseful, and sexy game of cat and mouse.
Clementine’s life was turned upside down when Gabriel needed a wife. Going from decorating cakes to being an obedient fiancé was a chaotic whirlwind. Would her secrets be safe with the arrangement?
Gabriel got what he wanted, when he wanted… until Clementine. But would her defiant confidence turn their arrangement into more?
Of course it ended with a cliffhanger!! It was a fun, steamy, and exciting read. I am looking forward to reading the conclusion!
Logan Chance has weaved a story of intrigue. So ready to get into the next book, Groom. What adventures are in store or Clementine and Gabriel.
This was a short story and the first part of a duet. When Gabriel Prince’s grandfather dies, he leaves everything to Gabriel on the condition that he marry Clementine Bright. Clementine agrees for the sake of her son, Tennyson, and the promise of a divorce after one year and $10 million. As Gabriel and Clementine plan their wedding and try to fight the chemistry between them, outside influences start to threaten the life of both Clementine and Tennyson. Great read.
This book was short but I really liked it. It was pretty intense towards the ending and it definitely made me want to read the next part of the Duet. This was my first book by Logan Chance and I must say it was definitely a great start!
Bride sucked me in on the first page and wouldn’t stop. Wow what a great beginning to a two part story .
Would you marry someone for money??? That’s a tough question. Clementine says she will…..or does she?
And go ahead and buy Groom….
This first book in this duet was incredible. I can say with all honesty that this author has never written a book I didn’t love. From Romcom to Romantic Suspense; he does it all so well. Bride is the first book of the Deceit Duet so I don’t need to tell you it ends on a cliffhanger. This first book is the slow burn of the two. The build up of something bigger going on besides an impending wedding is in the forefront. By then end of this book, I still didn’t know what was going to happen. Suspense and mystery at it’s finest.
I’m not going to say too much because you need to read this on your own. This book is pretty short and can be read in a couple of hours or less. But I can tell you that having already read part two of this duet, at the time of this review, this is an absolute must read. Logan Chance is a must read author for me for a very good reason. He had an incredible talent when it comes to story telling. And I look forward to his releases.
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
Interesting short read that has me intrigued! Mysterious! Secrets that have yet to be revealed has me extremely curious!!
What. A. Read. WOW!
This book had my full attention from start to finish. The character buildup in this story is so well done and gave me a vested interest in both main characters.
Clementine (LOVE her name by the way) is strong, independent, sassy, sexy, and can definitely hold her own against Gabriel. Gabriel is strong, sexy, smart, sharp witted and though a touch arrogant, he is NOT a jerk or creep. Their banter back and forth in this storyline is fantastic. The dialogue and scene setup between the two of them was fun to read. Their dislike for each other is obvious and yet as the story progresses, I found myself wanting them together more than they probably wanted it!
The heat created between the two of them….WOWIE WOW WOW. While the bits on intimate scenes between them are not too much in this first book, what we do read of interactions with them are simply delicious and had me biting my lip wanting even more!! Major tease!
The storyline and buildup to the last page and into the next book, Groom, is great and easily had me bound to my couch until I was done!
This is a definite must read! Characters and conversations between them are realistic, likeable, and will make you love them! My only wish was that it was longer, but thank goodness for Groom!!!
I say wow because this was a very good book but no sex scenes, pouting here. Now I have to wait for Groom to come out, ugh. I hate waiting to finish a story. I hope you hurry up and that it has sex scenes in it please. Thank you in advance. Thank you for the wonderful book.
Very good book, though not really realistic, still a quick, great read. A lead up to Book 2 “Groom”. 5 stars for both. Very good author.
I so loved this book.
I love Gabriel and Clementine and can’t wait to see how their life develops in book 2.
This is a wonderful story with plenty of twists and turns.
