The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach… her a chance to start a new life in British Columbia as a mail-order bride, Tilly lets fate decide her future.
Nolan Wheeler has never met a meal he didn’t like. Well, didn’t eat anyway. Naturally, he hopes his bride can do more than boil water, but he wants so much more in a wife than the ability to cook. He wants a partner to join him on adventures, laugh at his dumb jokes and, most importantly, want lots and lots of babies.
As Nolan and Tilly grow closer, she can’t help thinking her noble Mountie deserves so much better than a wife with a scandalous past. When she finally musters the courage to share her painful story, his reaction leaves her more uncertain than ever. Will Nolan be able to see beyond her history or is Tilly doomed to start her life over…again?

This romance story was a sweet clean story. It had a nice storyline but was of course mostly predictable.
Nolan Wheeler and Tilly Conway. They seem to be a match made in Heaven! Nolan is a Royal Canadian Mountie with a huge love of eating. Always seems to be hungry. Miss Hazel Hughes has found a perfect match for him! Tilly is a professional chef. Tilly needs to move on and Nolan wants a wife. The characters are well developed and their personalities blend together perfectly. Nolan is first captured by Tilly’s heart and compassion. Her cooking quickly endears her to his heart as well. She is a take charge woman and he loves that about her. Her willingness to dive in and help him with his work shows just how strong she is. I love Cassie Hayes’ writing style.. She is an exemplary Author that can take you right into a story and you won’t want to put the book down until you are finished! You will not be disappointed reading this book.
This book is part of a series written by 4 authors and can be read as a stand alone book. The series is based in Canada and is about the lives of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book. I read it and this review is my own opinion.
Tilly has been let go after a misunderstand from her chef job. She is new to Miss Hazel’s church and the last of the first round of girls to marry one of the Mounties. But can Tilly go through with it? She is sacred of everyone finding out what really happened.
Nolan has a huge stomach and is looking forward to Tilly coming as he has heard she is a great cook.
She goes with Nolan to help some Chinese prisoners and they work through their love as she explains what happened in her past.
These characters were great to read and another great book in the series.
stupid, predictable, too descriptive and stopped after couple of chapters
Light reading with a pleasant preditictability
loved this book
A very good plot, but poorly written In a Hurry to finnish. Could have given more information and descriptive details to keep this book more interesting —add a few pages & give more realistic details.
When I rated this “informative,” that is because I have fallen in love with the “mail order bride” type easy reading novels. If you just want to be entertained and have a book that is easy to see, I would rate this 5 STARS.
Everyone deserves to be loved. But sometimes love needs a little push when you are miles away from any hopes of meeting the right person. It takes a leap of faith to put your choice of spouse in another person’s hands. But many did just that and found happiness.
I really enjoyed the way the author incorporated bits of history into the story.
Cute read
Good read
Love the brides of Montana books
Liked it
I very much enjoyed this book and the characters (strong women!). Definitely worth the read.
Typical western romance
Enjoyed and would recommend
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a relaxing read.
This was the first of the “Mountie” books I had read. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more of them.
I enjoyed reading this story. It was a lot like most mail order brides but with a twist when the heroine decided to follow her Mounty husband on an assignment.
I do like mail order bride stories.
