This book was truly heartwarming. The characters seemed to come to life from the beginning. You could feel that Freddie was in a dark place he was struggling to get out of, and Bianca was that beacon of light for him.
I liked that although Freddie and Bianca had a past, there was no instalove. As they got to know each other again, the reader got to see their characters develop.
I always enjoy the sense of family, friends, love, and support. One of more of the characters has an underlying issue to work through, and when Freddie’s was revealed, there was a twist involved. Bianca’s was more of a surprise, but was handled so nicely.
This was not a quick read. The story moved at a steady pace, while keeping you fully involved and entertained. I found myself smiling through many parts of the book. It definitely had its moments of several waves of different emotions, but it was not a book full of angst. You get to spend time with couples from the previous books, including small updates on their lives. The book also provide you with a HEA.
I enjoyed this book and would absolutely recommend it.

Bride for a night is book 4 in the Bay of Brides series. Bianca is the twin sister of Phoebe who we met in book 1 and Freddie is her childhood crush who broke her heart at just eighteen years of age. Eight years later he comes back from the army and she finds she still has feelings for him. They have some hurdles to overcome along the way. I really enjoyed this book and I have enjoyed the whole series. I like that we have known the characters through all the series and the back drop of New Zealand is just amazing. I always enjoy Serenity’s writing she writes about real life problems and is not afraid to include very emotional sometimes taboo subjects. I look forward to the next book in the series.
love this series!
I could not put this book down. I loved the story. It was a sweet story of childhood friends that reconnect as adults and become lovers. But this isn’t just a sweet story, it has some heat to it. I won’t give spoilers, but I actually enjoy when an author touches on a subject that isn’t usually discussed because these things do happen. In my opinion it was well written and explains so much about the character. A great story, and I loved a hint at what will be a future story.

5 Star Review of Bride For A Night (Bay of Islands Brides #4) by Serenity Woods
The fourth book in the Bay of Islands Brides series and is Bianca Goldsmith and Freddie Brook’s story and oh what a story it is.
Freddie left Bianca behind when he joined the army and now that he has come home to recover from serious wounds, he finds that Bianca is still single. However Bianca is not as happy to see him as he hopes, given that he shattered her heart by rejecting and leaving nearly 10 years ago.
When his plans to stay with his brother fall through, Bianca’s mother Noelle offers Freddie and his dog Waffle the guest cottage in exchange for doing odd jobs for her.
Bianca is determined not to give him another chance to hurt her. However she doesn’t count on Freddie’s determination to win her over. Slowly their friendship blooms and soon romance is in the air. Through their love both Freddie and Bianca heal with the love and support of family.
Bride For A Night is a well written, romantic and passionate story. I really love how Ms.Woods embraces the whole family in her stories; it is heart warming and I love to see what has been happening to previous characters.
This is a great series, that I find myself captivated by and I cannot wait for the next release.

A lovely second chance romance for an army veteran and a wedding dress designer
5 stars
I was quite pleased by this latest book in the Bay of Islands Brides series. I love how each member of this warm, loving family finds their true love in each new novel. The series is set in the small town of Kerikeri in the gorgeous subtropical Northland of New Zealand.
Freddie is a guy with issues. His back was recently injured in Iraq during his army service when a bomb exploded, but he also has emotional issues from his abusive childhood. He just retired from the army at the age of 27, and he came to stay with his brother in Kerikeri until he gets a job. Freddie has an adorable large dog named Waffle who, without training, acts as Freddie’s emotional therapy dog. Waffle is awesome! Bianca, 26, is a successful wedding dress designer. She went to school with Freddie and had a big crush on him. Freddie really liked Bianca and appreciated her sweet nature, but he never dated her. After one kiss, he left for the army at age 18. Now they meet again, and they just might be right for each other.
I love the serious conversations between the main characters. There are some serious things going on, but the book thankfully never feels depressing. I also love the light-hearted fun and the sexy bedroom scenes, which are beautifully intimate. I recommend this book to anyone who loves steamy contemporary romance with a wounded hero and/or wedding dresses. There is some cussing (not too much, in my opinion).
I received a free advanced reading copy from the author, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.
Bride for a Night is book 4 in the Bay of Islands Brides Series and as always this is another great read that leaves you feeling like you are catching up with friends and totally involved in the storyline.
Bianca and Freddie have a past but he broke her heart when he joined the army eight years ago but now he is back and Bianca realises she still has deep feelings for him but nothing seems to run smooth for the girl we first met back in book 1 will this time around be any different.
A second chance love story with a few twists and turns along the way, a couple who need to take it slow and who need to get to know each other all over again because of hurdles that have been thrown in their way. I love this authors style of writing nothing is sugarcoated we read about people with real life issues, I love that I feel like I’m going home and catching up with my friends because that’s how this authors writing makes me feel. Another great addition to a brilliant series.

BRIDE FOR A NIGHT-#4 in a series but a standalone read with a HEA. Set in New Zealand, town of KeriKeri. This story is Bianca’s. She is a twin and co-owner of a bridal shop in town. She and her sister design and make all their wedding dresses. Their mother, Noelle, runs the business end of the shop. Bianca is still single at 27, still in love with Freddie the boy she has loved since grade school. Freddie graduated high school, joined the Army, said good-bye and has not been heard from since.
8 years later and he is back in town. He was wounded in Iraq and released from the Army. He is still a troubled soul, a result of a very bad childhood. He needs to heal in more ways than one. Bianca is still in love with him but he is afraid of relationships or falling in love. With no where to go and no idea what to do with the rest of his live, Noelle, Bianca’s mother offers him a place to stay and a job. She is definitely mother of the year, you can’t help but love this character.
There is a bit of drama as Freddie finds his place in the world and decides to love the woman that he left behind all those years ago. It is a great story, a good read, very entertaining and interesting. I would definitely recommend it.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 8/11/18
Bride for a Night by Serenity Woods
Bay of Islands Brides #4
With each book in this series I more and more want to move into this fictitious group and be part of their story. I guess I get to do it vicariously through reading but it sounds like a wonderful group to belong to.
Bianca Goldsmith and Freddie Brooks knew one another most of their lives. Just before Freddie took off for time in the military Bianca told him she had feelings for her. Knowing he was not ready to settle down he took off and never looked back leaving Bianca to get over heartbreak on her own just after high school. Years later he returns to recuperate from an injury and figure out what he will do next. Noelle, the Goldsmith matriarch, takes him in and offers him a job. As Bianca and Freddie spend time together Bianca realizes her feelings have never really disappeared but she is leery of being hurt again.
Freddie has a troubled past that he wanted to get away from but his time in the military and things he saw while a soldier when piled on his past memories from childhood make layers to him that are not easily unpeeled, shared and dealt with. Bianca and her family give Freddie support and wisdom to consider and over time he grows and learns and opens up in ways that please both him and Bianca.
I loved Waffle – the rescue dog – and how he made friends with everyone and gave support to Freddie. I loved the family dynamics. I enjoyed the trip to the Bridal Fair. There wasn’t a lot of drama in this story of two friends who finally find their way to one another and then on to the potential of a life together but the story was heartwarming and steamy and perfect for me to read today. I know there are only two more books in the series…at least that I know of…and hate to think this series will be wrapped up sooner than I might like. I am eager to see if Elliot and Libby end up together and who the man is that may sweep Noelle off her feet. NOTE: I loved the mention of the lingerie worn by Bianca that was made by Four Seasons and it made me want to revisit those books again soon.
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.
4 Stars
I truly love this authors writing style with this series. Bride for a Night is an emotional read, Freddie’s past is difficult to imagine, but when he comes back into Bianca’s life with Waffle, the two of them rekindle their friendship from their childhood. Loved that Noelle had that calming affect over Freddie, something he didn’t get growing up, enjoyed the way Bianca’s whole family brought Freddie into their family fold. Loved the Bridal Exhibition and the events that ensued from that. Very romantic, very emotional, very Serenity Woods!! Loved The special bond Waffle has with Freddie, and the calm he brought over Freddie during the difficult times. You know that our wounded warriors like Freddie benefit from the special animals like Waffle, so it was heartwarming to have that written into this story. Yet another great story from an incredible author! Can’t wait to read Noelle’s story!

Bianca fell in love with Freddie from the age of 6 and though he broke her heart at 18, he was the man who subconsciously she measured any other man against. When he returns to her life she is wary, not wanting to be hurt again. He is moody and irritable and a pain in the **** but what the heart wants, the heart wants. With the childhood that Freddie had, he is always going to have issues but love can conquer mountains. One of a series but can be read as a standalone.
