RE-PUBLISHED by the author, this is Book One of the Warriors of Phaeton series.Poppy is bored to tears with her dead-end job and dull life, so when a species of alien warlords arrives on Earth, seeking women to help repopulate their race, why wouldn’t she sign up? She doesn’t care who she’s matched with—until she meets him. Sexy, long-haired, leather-pants-wearing Wheaton was a bit more than she … more than she bargained for.
Diplomat Wheaton expected a cultured Earthling to help in his mission, not some crazy-haired woman named after a flower and whose speech baffles his translator. Pardon my French? Knock it off? But Wheaton is soon smitten and eager to turn Poppy’s good-morning kisses into an all-day affair. Doing the nasty? Bring it on!
But Poppy must do battle with the slimy councilor Demascus, and an extremist group opposed to the Pact. And that’s before a glitch in the Bridal Pact program makes all existing matches invalid, and glossy Hannah, the perfect politician’s wife, arrives on board. Her match: Wheaton.
Note: this book is a RE-RELEASE of a work previously published by Ellora’s Cave. The Warriors of Phaeton series is now self-published independently by the author, Leora Gonzales.

I know this is an erotic SFR, but the dialogue didn’t read like science fiction, it read like every day life and felt like something this crazy could actually happen. And I so loved that this author gave a voice to BBW Latinas. We need more BBW heroines!
There may be many books that could compare to this one, as people would call them “Mars need women” books, but even though it had the same idea, I loved the originality with this one. This is one of my favorite genres, and I enjoyed how easy it was to read, and relatable the main character was. The way she talks is the same way I talk, and it was very entertaining.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would love to read the next ones in this series.
I need to thank whoever pointed this book out to me! This is a new to me author, but her writing speaks to my soul, dude, to my soul, lol. I loved everything Poppy and Pixie related. I loved how the Phaetons were so literal and logical. The premise of the book has been done, but the panache displayed in the writing? That’s upper level, for sure. The villain was super slimy, which is always fun. The dudes were totally unused to human mating, so that led to some hilarious conversations. The whole thing was smooth. Some of the reviews for the book were just petty and off point, they missed telling you how much fun you would have reading the freaking story itself! The girls curse, well, duhhh, some girls curse. Sure, there were some, a few, small editing errors, but this was her first-ever published book! I can only share how I felt about the book, and that was that I loved it! The plot had so much going for it and the scenes were smooth, leading up to the introduction/possible first chapter to a future book, that I, personally, am looking forward to reading. I’m now a fan, keep writing, I’ll keep reading!
This is a new author for me. This story is the usual alien warriors need women. I happen to like this type of story and I like this author. This is Wheaten and Poppy’s story. I love Poppy. She has a potty mouth but she is sweet, friendly and funny. I’m glad that she will have her HEA. I plan to finish this series.
Will be reading some more Leora Gonzales
Great book love how caretaker go into other books.
Enjoyed this book.
Sexy, steamy and fun all at the same time I highly recommended not only this book but also this author and this entire series.
I wish this could come true!
I thought that the book was a little too slow to get started but I did enjoy the unlikely love story between slang throwing Poppy and almost clueless Wheaton. At the end I was happy that her sister Pixie would be joining her.
Entertaining and light_hearted. I enjoyed it.
Love it and love the characters. Can’t wait to read more.
Loved it
Enjoyable read. Highly recommend.
New twist on aliens needing human women for children. Characters were well described and were very reminiscent of equals in human society, politicians, certainly were good for a laugh. Some good guys were endearing and loyal.
Enjoyed the story of Wheaton and Poppy. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series!
Loved the female lead. Ditzy but normal. I really enjoyed that she got to show the man how to be romantic and really built the perfect partner. The book had drama, angst, and alien tech. What more could i want.
I enjoyed this funny book all they way to the end.
Really enjoyed this book and promptly read all the finished books in the series. Awaiting the next one out. Would like less sex and less details of sex.
If you love romance and sci-fi/aliens, you will enjoy this book. I thought it was fun and different!
