I never thought I’d end up being abducted by aliens!
I was living my dream, rotating in space around Mars on the Mars Hope Skylab. As the first American woman this far into space, I’ve accomplished more in my twenty-eight years of life than most.I enjoy my job, so when things go sideways and aliens board my lab, I try to stay positive and make sure that I just observe and stay alive. But I’m … that I just observe and stay alive. But I’m immediately grabbed and taken to their ship.
Unable to understand them and not knowing what they have planned for me, I have to make some hard choices about whether living is the best way to go. And how far will I go to live?
It appears that I’m now the property of the alien that grabbed me.
He’s big, possessive and seems to want to get to know me a lot better…

Hannah is a doctor working on the Mars Hope Skylab when the ship is boarded and she is kidnapped by aliens. Bren is the primary captain of the ship who has claimed her as his right. He is her alien captor and protector. She must survive this new world and find her way back to Earth. But the aliens are similar to humans and the attraction between Hannah and Bren goes deeper than she first realizes. Hella sexy, steamy, surprising.
exceptional read
I loved how the story started. The first woman to explore space on her own. Then it became a bit confusing with a fated mate storyline. I guess I was as confused as the heroine as to what was going on. There needed to be more first person reflection on why a woman, who had previously been so career focused, would now roll over and open her legs. However, there are only a few bewildering chapters, and then alien friends explain the background tidbits. The climax of the story would be incredibly terrifying. Thank goodness it isn’t real! A lead-in storyline is given for the next several books.
I listened to this book as a set of the first 3.
These books were very good. The world building was unique and I would like to continue to explore it. The characters were believable. The narration was done well with multiple voices. I would recommend reading this series.
I loved this book, from the first pages my attention was caught and I was sucked into this space adventure, following Bren and Hannah’s first meeting, romance and fight to be accepted, Cultural differences play a big part in their story, and the shockingly rigid matriachal society challenge them at every turn. This was a real page turner and I desperately want to know what happens next, and who will be blessed by the mating marks.
Fun and interesting
Randi Johnson and Kelsey Navarro do such a good job bringing these characters and this story to life. If I hadn’t heard Randi introduce the book I would not have recognised his narration! I love the way all the male voices are done by Randi and all the female by Kelsey no matter whose point of view the chapter is from. It really helps to immerse into the story.
Ohhhhhhhh, I love this so much! The characters are fabulous and I love the world building and set up of the story. And the steam!!!! Oh the steam….if you don’t like fast then you won’t enjoy this…but if you do….wow! The steam flows within the story it’s not just stuck in there for the sake of it. I really like where it ended and hope that there is a next book to continue with. I would happily spend more time with these characters.
Bren’s Blessing – an Audible Sci-fi alien romance that grabs you while you hold on in a ride through space. Lots of steam, a little snarky, some intrigue, and potential for more to come, in the Quasar Lineage Series.
Randi and Kelsey made this galactic ride all the more interesting.
Reviewed for Randi’s Romantics

Bren’s Blessing (A Sci-Fi Alien Romance)
The Quasar Lineage, Book 1
By: Pearl Tate
Narrated by: Randi Johnson, Kelsey Navarro
This is my first book by Pearl Tate and it will not be my last. I enjoyed her writing style and the imaginative world and characters she created. The original storylines are interesting and captivated me from start to end. I liked Hannah, her bravery to stand up to the aliens who invaded her Skylab craft while in space studying Mars. The aliens abduct her and bring her back to their spaceship. These aliens are humanoid type males, huge in size. Bren is the one who grabbed her and something in him awakens, he feels an attraction and starts to get aroused, something that has not happen for any males of his kind in years. There was a great chemistry between these two and I thought the physical changes that occurred with the color and then size was awesome. I liked the dynamics of the world, how women ruled and how they improvised to keep their species from extinction and taking on multiple husbands. But Hannah and Bren situation shows that soul mating is not entirely gone and they are the proof. But can they get the leader to believe and change the laws to reflect the new finding. I loved how it all played out, how Bren and Hannah are meant to be and the new hope for other males of his kind. Thank you Pearl Tate for this great book, it is one hot, out of this world story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Randi Johnson & Kelsey Navarro are wonderful narrators. They bring these characters to life, give each their own unique voice and personality. They did a great job projecting the emotions of the characters as well as the drama of the story into their performances. I loved Randi’s portrayal of Bren, alpha possessive yet caring. Kelsey’s portrayal of Hannah was great too. Both are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen
Remus is from Quasar and has been in a harem with his brothers. They have been sharing the same female,Lulila, trying to produce children as their species is dying out. Remus is being sent on a quest to find his brother Traveck. Remus meets the Ashen and they tell him that he is there to meet his mate. Remus doesn’t believe them but he develops mating marks on his body. JoAnne has been meeting with the Greys for years and people call her crazy and delusional. When Jo-anne wakes up she finds a different Alien in her room. She’s not as scared of him as she is with the Greys. Remus tells her that she is his mate and the Greys won’t answer any questions until they mate. Remus also tells Jo-anne that she has the same Mating marks on her but she doesn’t believe him until he tells her they are on her back. Jo-anne and Remus are very attracted to each other and find that Remus finally has a hard on and finds that he can perform without the drug used at home to make him hard. He finally has an orgasum and is delighted. He wants to try that with Jo-anne. What a great story. Different than any other SciFi romance I’ve ever read. I think that you would really have to start at the beginning of the series to understand the complete concept of what is going on. I’m looking forward to the next book but also backwards to the first six books.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed this story. Good introduction to the series.
Bren’s Blessing
I about squealed my head off while reading this!
You know when you read a book and you squeal, but the squealing is about something so miniscule, its basically nothing? Or something that happen 3 chapters ago, but it popped into your head agin? No?
Huh. Maybe its just me then =D
I was pulled into this book so fast, it was almost like whiplash.
But whiplash in a good way. No pain included.
I could not put it down!
I HAD to know what would happen next with Hannah and Bren.
Whether it be sexy time, or a near death experience by creature or the evil Vina’s glare, grrrr.
Now, I just wanna know what will happen to Matthais.
SO…on to the next!
Happy reading!
Rating 5 stars
Fun characters, easy to read book. I thought the physical changes to the characters before/after mating was unique. The series has a lot of potential to go in many directions, so I don’t think we’ll see the same story over and over again. Looking forward to seeing how it progresses as the other characters get their own stories.

Allow a full day for this adult alien abduction romance which starts when Doctor Hannah Becker, age 28, is the first human to circle Mars in the Mars Hope Skylab and the normal ping is not working.
Intriguing story!
This is a well written quick read that will have you captivated from the very first page! The characters are interesting and i found my mind was drifting back to their quest long after I had finished the book! I look forward to reading the next installment to see how Bren and Hannah fare on the following segment of their journey, as well as other work by this author!
I really loved this book. I was hooked from start to finish and ate it up in one sitting while I worked. If you are okay with lots of alien porn and an instalove true mate bonding then this is the book for you.
My only cons are I think this book should have been written in 3rd person because the alien male Bren’s dialogue was inconsistent. I find it hard to believe that just seconds after learning her language by download into his mind that he knew words like my dick, my cock, her cunt right away but the phrase you are a good kisser was too complex for him to understand without explanation. He easily understood our slang for genitals but frowns at terms of endearment like baby. I feel like he would have used more technical terms or symbolic terms to his people’s linguistics/ environment. I mean if the author can make up names for smart alien ant-spider creatures running from an alien snake creature then she can make up colorful alien names for the genitals, considering the majority of their relationship was naked and rutting endlessly.
So yeah I feel like in 3rd person point of view the narrator could have used those words and it not take away from the authenticity and development of Bren. In first person it makes him an incomplete character who’s dialogue needed fixing because he is using complex slang in a foreign language.
also what is up with the usage of the word cunt? I want to vomit every time I hear it. Its not sexy and puts me out of the mood of the hot sexy time scenes. Authors should really reconsider using this word to describe the vagina but nothing is sexy about a stinky dirty coochie during sex. If this book didn’t have cunt in it it would be a 6/5 star read.

Bren’s Blessing was a lot of fun and a great introduction to the series. While technically a standalone, the epilogue leads into the next book but does not leave you on a cliffhanger, just the perfect place to start. I enjoyed the bond and the physical aspects that happened, specifically to Bren. The world that Pearl Tate built was a fun one, playing with roles and abilities, along with the unexpected consequences of technology. Overall, Bren’s Blessing was a lot of fun and a quick, steamy read for a lazy afternoon. I cannot wait to start the next book in this series.
I received this audiobook for free (and then bought the ebook). This is my honest and voluntary review.
