But all the self-reliance in the world can’t prepare her for being taken to ancient Scotland and what she finds there.
Chieftain Brennus Skaraven would like nothing better than to remain dead, his legendary clan buried and forgotten. Anything would be preferable to suffering the manipulations of the druids. But when a strange lass comes crashing into his life, he discovers more than a reason to live. He finds the one thing that had always been denied to him and his kind—love.

WILL LOVE THIS SERIES
I don’t even know where to start. 1st: Ms. Hunter is AMAZING at WEAVING WONDEFUL TIME TRAVEL NOVELS! So this book starts out WITH SOMETHING VERY INTRESTING! Brennus is the HARD TYPE of MAN, Althea is a Wonderful sort but very STRONG & STUBBORN WOMAN! She has no idea why she is kidnapped & taken to th 14th century, she soon finds out! The book I READ IN LESS THAN A DAY I WOULD & COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. It was a “THRILLING ADVENTURE FROM BEGINNING TO END, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT & I LOOK FORWARD TO THE REST OF THE SKARAVEN SERIES!”
Another great story!!!
What a great start to this second Immortal Highlander Series. Hazel has another winner up her sleeve. A catastrophe in the modern day world, awakens an evil unknown of for twelve centuries. Five druid-kind women are abducted, to enable their captors to return to their own time, to exact revenge on the druid who had sealed them into their tomb, never to be seen again! Brennus and his Skaraven clan are re-awakened and given immortality so they can defend druid and human kind alike, but his anger over what was done to them previously, obscures his thoughts. I really felt sorrow and empathy for these one hundred warriors. When Althea saves Brennus, he finally agrees to attempt to rescue the other four women. What happens next is such a great tale, that I found it extremely hard to put the book down to go to bed. Well-written storyline, realistic characters and a twist at the end, makes this a book not to be missed. I look forward to reading more of the Skaraven Clan in future books.
What a dilemma I had to face this week, 3 long awaited books on the same day!
Unable to know which one to read first, I decided to read them in the order of my preorders.
I was lucky to have read all the Immortal Highlander books in a very short time but now I will have to wait few months between each release date.
But it will worth it.
Even if the book ends on a cliffhanger, the romance story is solved. Each new book will tale a new love-story between a immortal warrior and a 21th century woman.
The first installment of the series narrate Brennus and Althea story. He, is the chieftain of the Skaraven clan, a specific group of warriors, breed and raised on to fight.
They were no more than slaves for the druids of their time. Brennus was the first of their kind and right before get his second chance of life, he has a vision of a woman being kidnapped by his nemesis.
This woman is Althea, a scientist from the 21st century, whom in an heartbeat find herself propelled in the scheme of some crazy druids and back in the 14th century.
When they meet, it is more than the crash of two periods, it is two worlds so totally opposed that meet, she the free modern woman and he the emancipated slave now immortal. They are drawn together and have to find a way to join their differences.
A lovely dark tale of second chance in life.
Now I have to wait for the next book in two months!!!
Great series!
I love this book and series. Can’t wait for the next one to come out.
The first of an excellent series. well written. I can’t wait for more.
I enjoyed reading this book. Brennus is a strong Scottish highlander and he meets Althea who was taken with some other women back in time by a bad people. Brennus and his clan with Althea fight the bad guys and so if you want to know if the bad people lose than you need to read the other books too. I recommend this it is a good storyline.
Really enjoyed this book. This author is great
Read this book in one sitting..Easy to read, entertaining a time travel adventure with a bit of romance.
Kinda clunky writing
Loved this time travel and the device used to make it plausible. The struggles the characters went through seemed realistic for the time. I also read the next book in the series, and it was yummy! New to me author is now on my book list.
A bit steamier and more violent than I’m used to but still fun. A really original story concept which wandered a bit in places but was a great read.
I enjoyed the book!
I really liked this book because it is original. It is time travel, has druids and romance all mixed into one book. The writer reminds me of David Eddings and his Mallorean series.
Fun read
Once again another awesome start to a great new series. I love that it ties into the last series as well, it feels like we’re continuing on instead of starting over. These new characters have their own story to tell in a world we’re somewhat familiar with. Can’t wait to read the next book.
I received an ARC of this story and have voluntarily chosen to review it here.
Hard to read
The read held my interest and compells me to read the next book.
Didn’t like this one. Read first 3 chapters and gave up, just couldn’t get into the druids and magic.
