After nearly ending her own life, Opal books a soul-searching Alaskan wilderness tour. She’s used to loneliness and rejection, but needs to learn how to love herself. When things go horribly wrong on the tour, she finds herself cold, alone, and facing certain death. Caleb and Damon have the perfect life. They live off the grid, far from society and its destructive influences. But it doesn’t take … doesn’t take long for the White brothers to realize what’s missing. They need a woman, and crave a family of their own. When their dog leads them to a lost hiker in the woods, they swear she was dropped straight from heaven.
It will take a lot of hard convincing for the bushmen to prove life at their cabin is better than what Opal left behind in the city. And they won’t take no for an answer. They plan on keeping Opal, loving her, and filling her with their baby.

Lost on the right path
Oh my! I had skipped over this book in the series because I was afraid I might not like it. How wrong I was! These two ladies have brought us a pair of alpha males who know exactly what they want and make no apologies for it. They might have to work a little bit to get their lady love on the same page, but when they do they find their perfect HEA. I can’t wait to read the next book by these authors!
Poignant, Full of Potential, but Marred by Mistakes and Mismatches…
After being pleasantly surprised by the first book in this series I was hoping the good vibes would continue. However this was not to be as “Bred by the Bushmen” by Sam Crescent and Stacey Espino, the second book in their Breeding Season Series, was overwrought with character mismatches and mistakes that made it frustrating and confusing to read.
Here, we are presented with the story of Caleb and Damon White, two brothers living their dream lifestyle off grid in their cabin deep in the woods. Two brothers molded by a tragic childhood that bond them together as an unbreakable unit. A unit now further marred by loneliness and longing for love and family. And Opal, a twenty-something girl who has endured countless cruelty and feels worthless to the world. A young woman who, after hitting the far reaching depths of depression, embarks on a soul searching camping excursion to try and fight her way back to life after being emotionally beaten down to the brink.
What follows is actually a heartfelt story about perseverance and mending one’s broken parts. It is a tale about how sometimes the universe puts in our path the right people, at the right time, to show us the good we can no longer see for ourselves. And it is a story, that even with its sexy, reverse harem subplot, is multifaceted, emotionally intelligent, and relatable. However, most of this is ruined by the many confusing pieces of mismatched character exchanges and plot points.
Sadly, the writers badly miss the mark as over half of the book is riddled with passages that flip flop points of view. Passages that will begin with Caleb but switch part way through and suddenly reference Damon despite still really being about Caleb, and vice-versa. At times the names would switch in a single paragraph. It was as if drafts were merged incorrectly, or the two authors switched off and forgot their place within the text. So confusing were the name switches at times I had to stop, go back to previous chapters, and reread parts just to figure out which brother they were actually meaning to represent.
In the end the character confusion completely distracts you from the actual story. And ultimately destroys the emotional connection you feel toward Opal, the brother’s White, and the troubles that befall them all.
This is one example where perhaps two authors writing one book is too much of a good thing. As this one is a sloppy, mismatched, mess.
Wow this book is remarkable. I am in love with Caleb and Damon. Opal is such a sweetheart. This book is just delightful. I can help but gush over it lol. The is one hot journey they go on. The writing and flow of this book is top notch. I highly recommend this book.
