I have many books by Carrie Ann Ryan, all of them great and this is no exception. Changes are in the wind for Erin, a baker, after her class reunion. She meets a friend from the past. This is about new beginnings, of fear and relationships, of friendship and more. It is a standalone romance, steamy but with a great storyline. Best of all, family are a source of frustration and joy and support. You will meet many beloved characters who can be found in upcoming books and in some of her other series. This is my second read of this book and it was very good (as are her other books). Bravo!!
I received a free copy of this book via BookFunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved this hot little second chance romance! It so hard trusting after being betrayed by those that are supposed to love you most. Erin relies on herself, picks up the pieces of her broken heart and moves on, intending to never trust anyone or herself again. Until Devin. Yummy, hot, bearded, tattooed Devin. Friends with benefits?! Yeah right. I loved these two and their crazy friends and family!
Loved this book. Great story! Not something I would typically read but as part of book club it was on my list. I am not sorry. Laughed so hard Devin and Erin’s internal dialog as welk as what they sometimes let slip.
Great love story and a sweet HEA. Definitely recommend this read!
Breathless With Her — You know how you have that little moment where the title suddenly makes sense, I think I missed the ah ha moment. Though there is a lot of kissing, so maybe thats what Devin means? Idk. But this was a sweet second chance romance for a baker and a postal worker (mailman is a very sore spot even though he is a man who carries the mail lol). This whole family is on the fun side of nosy, and while there are several holy cow moments that jar you a bit it’s got great pacing! Happy Reading!
Great characters!
This could have been a fairly good book, except for all the f-bombs. An occasional one is almost understandable, but the number of them in this book was overwhelming. But if that language doesn’t bother you, go for it.
I loved this book, the scene about HL got me in the feels. I’m still heartbroken and sob my way thru his movies, too.
I didn’t really care for this book, it just seems like Erin was everybodys doormat throughout the whole book.
Loved it
It was too much ful! of Kinky sex
Devin likes his life, his job, family, and the outlook for his future. Then he sees Erin drunk and wearing a sequined dress as her world crashes down around her and she fights to put on a brave face. He knows what he has been missing – her. When Erin finds her high school sweetheart-husband banging the former head cheerleader of their graduating class at their high school reunion, she tells herself she will be fine. She just needs to find out what fine means. She has one problem, Devin. She did not plan on him, and she will have a find an answer if this friends-with-benefits thing is going to work out. – Devin and Erin both take responsibility of their actions. This is a good story about moving on and second chances.
Great story that shows there are happily-ever-afters after heart break. Friends-to-livers story where the good guy definitely finish’s first.
Great characters in real life story. Well written.
Could not finish it
Lovely romance.
When Erin finds her husband having an affair with another woman – a cheerleader, she is determined that she would be fine after moving away from him. That is when she sees Devin Carr. Their romance was caring and emotional and each one opens up to the other. The pace of the story moves steadily and though it was rushed in some places, still enjoyed the story. Enjoyable read.
Two people from broken families experiencing the impact their parents had on their ability to love and be loved. Some really heartwarming moments. Took me a bit to get used to the writing style … and then I liked it. Author can really have you feeling how fragmented or jittering or out of sorts a person is. Some good sex scenes, but I started skimming them cause too repetitive.
Great Story & Audible Listen Captivating & Heartfelt!
Breathless with Her
Less Than, Book 1
By: Carrie Ann Ryan
Narrated by: Samantha Cook, Jacob Morgan
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it immediately grabbed my attention and held it straight to end. The characters are realistic and easy to relate to. Erin and her husband Nicholas have been together since they were 14 years old, that ended at their H.S reunion, when she finds him pants down and in the former head cheerleaders. What a jerk that guy was, I was glad Erin walked away with out a glance. Upset with what she saw she went straight to the bar. Devin Carr is enjoying his beer when he sees Erin, she is a wreck but she is just want he needs. I liked Devin, a nice guy, he was great for Erin if she would just let him in. Erin had self-worth issues and was insecure, she did not want anymore serious relationships, she could not handle any more heartbreaks. She told Devin and while he wanted more she would take what he could get and was fine with settling with friends with benefits. But when she finds herself getting too attached she pushes him away. Realizing too late she made a huge mistake, can Devin forgive her. I loved how everything plays out in this book, it is well plotted with drama, angst, some heartfelt moments, heartbreaking ones and some hot romance, all leading to a great second chance to live and love. Thank you Carrie Ann Ryan for another great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, Samantha Cook and Jacob Morgan are fantastic narrators and voice artists. They bring the characters to life give each their own voice and personality, as well as heart and attitude. Their portrayal of the characters is spot on, they sounded as I pictured them to. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen
Fabulous book make sure you have lots of time to read! Once you start it you are pulled in and won’t be able to stop. This is Amelia Carr’s story! After making a fool of herself in front of her best friend Toby she turns to family friend Tucker! Known as the playboy of the group he’s the last person the Carr siblings want to see Amelia with. However, do they know the real Tucker? Amelia and Tucker help each other find love and it’s not an easy road. Throw in some unexpected drama an ex, a son, a bitchy girlfriend and strong family you get a super story!
This is Erin and Devin’s story. Erin was forced to face the fact her marriage is over when she caught her husband at her high school reunion. Erin and Devlin are friends who turn the friendship into friends with benefits. But with all the crazy and drama coming up are they helping each other with this arrangement, or will it end up hurting them. Blow after blow they are dealt but can they help each other and move on to a future together? Erin is not used to a man helping and supporting her can she allow Devin to help her out? Do they have a future together?
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
Devin and Erin were amazing in this book, I loved the interaction between them it was dynamic. They had amazing chemistry, and I really enjoyed reading their story. This was a great book to start off this series.
