They say that true love only comes once in a lifetime. In my case, they were wrong.I gave my heart away three times. To the blue eyed sensitive soul, who read poetry when he thought no one was looking. To the green eyed jock, who made you laugh as hard as he made you cry.And to the dark eyed boy, whose dark heart only ever beat for me.They were my everything, until suddenly they weren’t. They asked … suddenly they weren’t.
They asked me to choose, but they were asking the impossible.
Now it’s my turn to ask for more than what they are willing to give.
I only have three months left, and I just want to spend it with them.
Will they accept my offer, or will four hearts live the remaining days of their lives in regret of what could have been?
The letters have been sent.
All that remains is for me to wait.
Wait to see if their hearts are still mine.
Because for as long as mine beats, it will always belong to them.

I loved this first book in the duet and I am dying for the conclusion, I’m so glad there isn’t long to wait for it. The writing between these two amazing authors is seamless and I love the transitions is chapters between past and present. This is Valentina’s last chance to be with the three parts of her soul and the tough journey they take through this book is heart wrenching to read. Quaid, Carter and Logan each provide different qualities to the dynamic foursome and each have a piece of Valentina’s heart from the very beginning. Seeing the groups first meeting, and parts of their past gives greater depth to the characters and allows us to see the change in them over time.
.
I was torn a lot when reading this book. Sometimes I was screaming at Val to just tell them the truth so they understand! And other times completely knowing why she can’t. Usually these change of moods came when the POV changed between her and one of the men, demonstrating how well these authors make you feel the feelings of characters as you empathise with each of them. They are all complex characters that have been shaped by events from 10 years ago and I hope we get to read about that last time they see each other before the 10 years apart in the next book. They are all struggling in their own way to find a way back to each other, even if they all have a little selfishness in what they want. Their story so far is tragic and I can’t wait to read the next instalment, even if I know it will shatter my heart
.
As this story is a duet, there is a cliffhanger ending, and I do just want to pick up the next book and keep reading, but there isn’t too long to wait, and I will be patient and appreciate it more when the time arrives, so I wouldn’t let this discourage you from reading this book in any way!
.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
“ . ,” , . “ ?”“ .”
This book broke me and put me together just as fast.
Loving one person is hard but loving three is nearly impossible but Valentina just opened her heart to three troubled boys and couldn’t vision her life without them.
’ , .
Quaid the smiling outgoing guy, Logan the blue eyed sweetheart and Carter the brooding dark badboy were best friends since childhood. One day Valentina moved into their street and changed their lives forever.
••••••
Valentina had a brain tumor since childbirth, but when she was 12 she got a second chance at life, and moving into the 3 boys’ street opened a whole new adventure for her.
But she could have never guessed that’s where she will find the loves of her life.
••••••
After ten years apart from each for reasons we the readers can only guess, Valentina decides to embark on a 3 months adventure and cannot see her self do it without her soulmates. But ten years apart may have damaged their lives and friendship for good.
, , ‘ ‘ .
They meet in Europe and start their adventure together but without knowing there are terrible secrets looming over their hearts and souls.
••••••
Will they survive the heartache? Will they be able to surpass their pasts and move on in order to live alongside the people they love and need?
.
This book is the first of a duet and ends on a very worrisome cliffhanger which made me anxious to know what will happen next.
Loved the fact that the book switched from past to present to help us understand and connect with the characters. Also love the the quad POV.
••••••
I had a few issues that prevented me from giving this book 5 stars. The fact the the characters as 12-13 year old children were having thoughts as of grownups, it felt weird. And I felt I didn’t get enough of the background story, I wanted to know what made the 10 year separation and what happened just before that. But I have a feeling that tge authors will reveal in the second book of the duet.
••••••
All in all this book is packed with heat, sexiness, heartache, loneliness, unconditional love, and a love of a life time.
Disclaimer- I recieved an ARC for my honest review.
“Even true love sometimes withers away. Just like how a fragile rose, once cut at the stem, loses its beauty and perishes before your very eyes.”
Breathe Me was co-written by two new to me authors, I need to research their catalogue. The cover is absolutely stunning and not only drew me in but she is the perfect Valentino. How could these three boys resist her beauty, innocence or her sex appeal. The picture gave insight, connecting the characters to the reader. Wonderfully executed storyline, written from multiple POV’s and past and present, had me hooked from the first pages. I highly recommend this book if you love angsty, heart rending, tear jerkers with romance and one helluva cliffhanger. I may of vocalised my dismay when I read it…”Oh, hell no!” On the bright side it’s less than a month before the next book is released.
Soulmates, neighbours, four flawed friends, snap shots in time. Like a magnet they are drawn to each other, from the moment they meet they’re inseparable. Jealously rears it’s ugly head and their lives change in an instant. Leaving each one with a broken heart, but the freedom to chase their dreams. Something is missing and sometimes our dreams change. What happens when they reunite years later? Can they find their way or will they shatter into a million pieces?
Wow I’m lost for words really!! This book is something on another level and a type of book I tend to stay away from because we have enough disappointment in our everyday lives already so I like to read books with happily ever afters. With that being said I love Ivy and CR Jane’s writing and knew I couldn’t not read this book and boy am I happy I did. These two authors are an amazing duo and truly know how to write a story. Be prepared to have the tissues ready but also be ready to laugh and swoon at the love in this book. It really has everything in it and it was an absolutely amazing read. I can’t wait for the second book!!
The authors take you on such an emotional and heart wrenching journey. The emotions the characters experience just leap from the pages. I am so excited to see what the next book has in store but I bet it will be as heartbreaking as it is wonderful.
This is a good story. It flips back and forth between the present and the past. Valentina has suffered a lot in her short life. She reaches out to her past loves hoping to regain what they lost. It’s definitely an emotional book. I’m not sure how I feel about the guys at this point. I’m not loving the way they are handling things. It will interesting to see where this story goes in the future.
I know that anytime I pick a book up with Ivy Fox on the cover, I’m going to be in for an emotional ride. This is the first time I’ve read anything by C.R. Jane but their writing flows so beautifully together that you truly can’t tell where one starts and the other begins.
The story is an emotional one (again, it’s Ivy Fox so I’m not surprised here! Lol) but it’s a beautiful one.
I feel like the looks into the past and back again to the present made this book that much more enjoyable for me. I absolutely loved getting to know the characters when they first meet and seeing their connection and relationships grow together.
As adults, when they are reunited, it’s beautiful yet heartbreaking. Especially the POV from one particular broody man lol
The guys: Logan, Quaid and Carter are so different from the other but truly make such a great group of friends. Their personalities all work together and where one struggles, the others are there to lift them up. It’s really something special to read.
I loved seeing the relationship between Val and her father from not just her POV but also the guys. The connection between her father and those boys was so heartwarming and gave me all kinds of feelings <3
The ending is a bit brutal; you're left trying to read more, frantically trying to swipe to the next page but there's nothing there. Thankfully we don't have long to wait until the conclusion releases but honestly? I think I could read about these characters and their lives together for many more than just two books.
I know this is just book one of two, but I'm already crossing my fingers for novellas in the future. <3 <3
Wow. I knew from the first chapter that this was going to be an emotional read but I love that. Reading should bring emotions. The story line is great. I’m loving the characters. I can’t wait to find out more. Great writing style too! Can’t wait for the conclusion whether it be good or bad/sad.
My favorite quote is by Valentina. “If Logan was the heart of our little group, and Carter was the soul, Quaid was the very pulse of life that beat between us.” It gives the best description of personalities and how the emotional roller coaster ride called Breathe Me gives the reader.
Read to find out how four best friends handle love, friendship and the realities of life.
This was such an amazing book! The characters are what really bring this book to life. Well thought out and each flawed in their own way makes it feel real and easy to become attached to them. I am usually not a fan of books that separate each chapter with a then and now but it worked so well here. I loved getting to know Val and her boys as children at the same time we are learning about them as adults. I can’t wait to get the conclusion of this duet which I am sure will be heartbreakingly beautiful.
Breathe Me is a soulful emotional book that rendered me speechless. I literally read and sobbed throughout Valentina’s story and it was breathtaking. Valentina’s story is not easy and it’s sad at times, but it’s the people that are in your corner that give you the strength to go on. But what happens when things change. Valentina, Logan, Carter and Quaid’s story is a roller coaster of emotions and the ride is just starting. I can’t wait for Breathe You. This book is a MUST READ!!
Breathe Me left me emotionally spent. You know you’re in for a heartstring plucking tale from the blurb, so be sure to bring the tissues. It’s a tragic and achingly beautiful story of love, and how it can bring people together until it’s so much that it forces them apart. It’s told from all the main characters viewpoints, both in the past and present. It spends a lot of time on major events in the groups past, and it really helps to invest you in their story. Valentina, Quaid, Carter and Logan are so vividly imagined, each distinctly unique and wonderful. It’s so well written, the emotion just resonates with you. It’s absolutely fantastic, and I’m so glad the follow up is not far behind. I can’t wait to read more.
Damn! I need more please! I hurt for Val. I hurt for Logan, Quaid, and Carter! I wish I knew what is going to happen. I pray she stays strong because my heart is breaking at the last thought she has……
Oh boy, give me just a second to blink through these tears that have misted my eyes. What a fantastic journey we are currently experiencing with these characters. There are so many emotions swirling around each of them and it is beautiful to watch everything unfold in front of us.
I’m never one to skip ahead in books but let me tell you it is oh so tempting when you are switching back and forth between then and now! I want all of the answers right now. The then chapters have such a heartwarming vibe to them, young love is so adorable to watch. Some of my favorite moments in this book happened in the past. The now chapters are full of hope and longing. I desperately want to know how things are going to end but never want to story to stop.
Val is such a strong woman who has had so much hardship in her life. She has faced many difficult decisions and situations. I fear with this only being the first half, she has many more to encounter before the conclusion of the series.
I am quite attached to each of the guys, all for different reasons. I’m really excited/dreading (quite the mix of emotions I know!) watching their reactions unfold in the book to come.
There is a depth to not only the characters and their background before they met, but also their story of what happened in the past. I feel as if we are only scratching the surface so far and are in for quite an emotional second half of this love story.
As far as a co-write goes these authors knocked it out of the park. I love seeing their friendship and respect for eachother both on Facebook and in their notes at the end. You can also see the effects this had on the book seeing as how they blended their writing into a seamless story. I loved this book and look forward to reading anything these two collaborat on!
I should probably stop rambling on, but if you take one thing away from this review know that I 100% recommend this book!
Ivy and CR have brought their A game… Get ready to feel ALL the feels with this one! Val grew up with her best friends and realized that those three boys were the soulmates she couldn’t live without. When she gets bad news, she realizes that what she wants more than anything is be with the men she’s never forgotten again. With some liquid courage, she drops letters in the mail and sets off on her journey to see if she can leave out the dream she can’t let go.
Carter, Logan, and Quaid are each unique. Even though they’ve become successful and appear to be at the height of their individual professional careers, their souls are barren without each other and Val. Reuniting is bound to bring out the best and worst in each other as they fight to find the brotherhood they once shared. If they can’t come to terms with sharing Valentina, it may be a lost cause with the time they have together…
There’s a reason why I prefer to watch sad movies rather than reading the book! I prefer to cry once & not in increments. With that being said, what can I say about this heartbreak duet about Val, Carter, Logan, & Quaid (other than Quaid being a squid lol)?
Nothing without spoiling the book. Except that cliffhanger alert & I wanna, wanna, really wanna read Breathe You.
I loved this book. It’s the first in a duet (therefore ends in a cliffhanger) it is told in multiple points of view and goes from the past to the present. The story flows beautifully, it’s not rushed yet you get sucked into the power and love that these guys had for each other and how deeply distance and time has effected them all. I couldn’t put it down, I sobbed and I smiled. It’s a must read.
Breathe Me has it all. It left me an emotional wreck but in the best way. The characters are so easy to love and relate to which speaks volumes for such an emotional story. From the start you are pulled into the world of the characters and you instantly love them. Be prepared for a flood of emotion, grab your blanket and some tissues.
Oh my gosh ladies… you have stolen and broken my heart. These characters were perfection from word one. This book is everything i could have expected from two of my favorite authors coming together. But, I wasn’t expecting this all consuming, roller coaster of emotions. How can you not feel for all of them, for wishing it could be easier and they could just understand how important they all all together. The next book can’t come soon enough. Bravo ladies. I love it!
“If Logan was the heart of our little group, and Carter was the soul, Quaid was the very pulse of life that beat between us.”
This book was everything I thought it would be and more. The story line, though sad, was beautiful! It was a second chance reverse harem that was portrayed in such a realistic manner. I never wanted it to end.
Logan was such a sweetheart you can’t help but to love him. He’s protective just as Carter and Quaid are but Logan is more if a take care of you type of lover. He can recite poetry and knows the right things to say. His eyes give away his soul. The love him and Val shared was beautiful. Her love with each of the boys is unique.
Carter is forever the brooding quiet boy. His darkness almost matches Val’s and sucks her in. They have both experienced tragedy, loss, and the unknown in their young lives even though their stories are different, it makes them kindred souls. It gives their love that uniqueness. However, Carter is not one to share.
Quaid, omg, Quaid! Quaid is the funny guy. He kept me laughing. He knows how to lighten a mood. He tried to always keep the mood light especially for Val. But he’d also fight anyone to protect her.
When she left ten years ago, Val broke them and took a piece imif each of them with her. But they don’t know how much she broke herself either. While her reasoning for contacting them after so long is devastating, it’s the best thing for all of them….at first. Quaid and Logan easily fall back into Val and love every second of it. Carter fights it tooth and nail because he’s afraid of the hurt and being left again. All she wants is three months to love them and to feel again. She just wants to breathe again. The question is, can they handle it? Can they suck it up for her? Will she be honest with them?
This book does end in a cliffhanger! There is a second book coming very soon though so we don’t have to wait long.
This book was so beautifully written! The authors did a beautiful job with each character and giving them and each of their loves and passions a unique story. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I do recommend this book. I also recommend tissues while reading!
