They say that true love only comes once in a lifetime. In my case, they were wrong.I gave my heart away three times. To the blue eyed sensitive soul, who read poetry when he thought no one was looking. To the green eyed jock, who made you laugh as hard as he made you cry.And to the dark eyed boy, whose dark heart only ever beat for me.They were my everything, until suddenly they weren’t. They asked … suddenly they weren’t.
They asked me to choose, but they were asking the impossible.
Now it’s my turn to ask for more than what they are willing to give.
I only have three months left, and I just want to spend it with them.
Will they accept my offer, or will four hearts live the remaining days of their lives in regret of what could have been?
The letters have been sent.
All that remains is for me to wait.
Wait to see if their hearts are still mine.
Because for as long as mine beats, it will always belong to them.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
When I saw that two of my fave authors were writing a book together I just knew that I had to read it. Valentina has had one rough life and she is not even thirty yet. Learning she has a short time to live she reaches out to the three boys that got away in the hopes of making things right before the end. This leads us on an emotional adventure as we get to meet them all both in current times and flash backs to the past catching us up to what happened to break them apart. This leads us to one explosive ending as things do not go exactly to plan making it a requirement to read book two wishing it was already releases. Prepare for one emotional adventure. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
ASTOUNDING! PASSIONATE! ADVENTUROUS!
Going into this duet I knew two things based on what my friends told me! It was RH & it was going to make me cry! Now, I don’t read a lot of RH because it’s just not my jam! They are usually filled with more of a physical connection than emotional…I need to feel that emotional connection between my characters. But my friends KNOW me and they just knew I’d love it! So in I went!
WOW!!! I MEAN WOW! Knowing it was RH did not prepare me for the connection that this heroine built with each of these characters! I loved how feisty and loving she was to each of them. The relationship she built with each individually was so unique to them alone! Each of these characters are broken in some way! Some in ways you can’t even see because to the outsider looking in you think…oh they have everything they could ever want; except they don’t. What one needs isn’t the same as what the person standing next to them needs and so on! I feel like Valentina stepped into their little world and patched each of them up in a way that can only happen when true selfless love is present!
Valentina’s Dad! I freaking love her dad! How #teamValentina he was…no matter what! THAT RIGHT THERE is what every single kid in this world needs and deserves! I not only adored the relationship she had with her dad but also the way he took to these boys that fell for his little girl! It made my heart so happy too!
That cliffhanger! I love reading duets and trilogies for one couple; even though those cliffy’s tend to steal my breath away. Because sometimes we aren’t quite ready to let a couple go after just one book. The great thing about this duet is both books are out now so you can binge!!!
When I saw this book recommended on FB as “heartbreakingly amazing”, I was scared for myself. I knew I wouldn’t be able to stop from diving in, especially with my gluttony for pain. And here I am, crying and breathless, because damn if Valentina isn’t relatable as hell. I’ve never been in her situation at all, yet this book is so beautifully written, I feel like I’m right there. I feel like I should be writing my own letters. Damn!
I already can’t get this book out my head! I had really high hopes by reading the blurb and it out did itself massively. The two authors did an amazing job.
Now normally with a book that has a love triangle or multiple people/boys I can always pick a favourite, one that I’m routing for or just one I connected with most. Yeah not with this book. The three men in this book with grab your heart and never let go. They all had personalities and flaws that I connected with and understood. They’re all dealing with there own problems. My heart broke for all of them. I was routing for all three. I can’t wait for the second book I can’t wait to see where this story goes.
As for our main girls Valentina. Bless her soul. I honestly didn’t know how I was going to feel about her at the start. But I did fall in love with her. Her strength and loving side just got me. And I understand her situation she was in. Loving multiple people.
This book was written beautifully well. It was very realistic and got me hooked from the beginning. I read it In a couple hours because I couldn’t put it down and now I wish I could go back and read it all again
I honestly recommend this book duet. You won’t be disappointed. The book throughout goes from the past and present which was great. The book was pathed really well and it all just fit so wonderfully together.
5 star read for me all the way.
An emotional, RH love story that will have you holding your breath and leave your heart breaking.
Breathe Me is a unique love story about a woman who has just found out she has 3 months to live so she reaches out to her childhood best friends, the only guys she ever loved to complete a bucket list they wrote as kids.
The authors have had me hooked with this book and I’m not sure if I’m ready to endure what pain is going to come with book 2.
The prologue in this book broke me (and this is just the beginning).
I knew this story would be emotional and heartbreaking yet amazing at the same time.
Ivy and CR did a fantastic job with this and had me hooked right from the start.
Definitely one not to be missed.
THE REVIEW FOR THE BOOK BREATHE ME BY IVY FOX AND C.R.JANE.
GENRE:CONTEMPORARY REVERSE HAREM ROMANCE.
AUTHORS:C.R.JANE AND IVY FOX.
TYPE:BOOK#2 OF THE BREATHE ME DUET.
POV:MULTIPLE POV…FIRST PERSON.
MY RATING 5 STARS…
BREATHE YOU is the second full-lenght book in the BREATHE ME SERIES.
The book starts where it left off. Still unable to choose between three men who loves and cherishes her, Valentina risks losing all of the love of her life. Valentina is suffering from a terminal disorder and wishes to spend her last good days on Earth with the people she loves and care about the most in the world. LOGAN, QUAID AND CARTER are still wounded from the mistakes she did in the past but they still love her. Will Valentina and the men resolve their feelings and have their well-deserved happily ever after?? or will Fate once again put a crack in their love story?
That’s what she does to us. Makes us feel like we are kings among men and then crushes our crowns with her dainty hands the very next minute.
OHH MYY GODD!!! How am I suppose to write a review for such a brilliant masterpiece…
Its been like a week since a finished the book but I am unable to form words to represent the emotions, tragedy, despair, and suffering of the character with the uncertainty of HEA…
After so much time, still, I am a sobbing blubbering mess…
This book could make a person, who has never been in love , Cry from the heartbreak in the book..
but believe it was soo worth it…the ending was so satisfying….to the perfection.
Valentina… oh Valentina…I have never felt so sorry for a character… I love her and could emphasize all the choices she made in the book. Although this book follows an RH trope, it kinda had a realistic edge…All the characters were aware of it being a nonconventional relationship… I could feel the desperation and jealousy seeping through the pages…outstanding job to both the authors.
THIS LOVE STORY was pure and it makes us believe in the power and miracle of LOVE.
I would recommend everyone reading this review to read this book…
SERIOUSLY GUYS!!! You won’t regret it…
“Why do I feel like each step of this journey is actually a goodbye?” he whispers hoarsely.
“Maybe every step we take in life is actually a step towards goodbye,” I answer.
Tissues at the ready!!
This book will seriously have your heart in a vice! These characters are wonderful and the story is heartbreakingly beautiful and makes you understand that life truly is short and you only get one chance!
I don’t know if my wee heart can take it but I need to know what’s to come in book two!!
4.5 stars
Man, I really wasn’t prepared for the emotional rollercoaster this book would take me on. It’s heartbreaking and full of angst, yes, but it’s also full of such a pure love between Valentina and her men, Quaid, Logan, and Carter.
Watching their foundation be set in their youth brought so much joy to my heart, but it’s because of that joy that watching it unfold again in adulthood is excruciating, especially given Val’s circumstances.
I can’t wait to read Breathe You because dang, that cliffhanger! So much more is going to unfold there and I am already preparing myself for the heartache.
I got to say, I’ve read both work of these authors and individually, they have wrung me emotionally with their poignant, bittersweet stories. Now, joining forces to deliver a devastating, crippling duet? I wasn’t ready. At all.
Told in multiple POV, the first book in this duet, Breathe Me, packed a punch with the angst and drama of the looming end to what could be a second-chance romance in the making, RH style. Since this is the first book, there was still the mystery of what tore the characters apart, although I could guess. Still, I’m dying to read the last installment and I need it right now!!! Fans of these authors will surely enjoy this newest book and lovers of this book trope. Highly recommend!
I loved this book ! It was emotional angsty and also heartbreaking to read .
I absolutely loved this author duos writing style and I’m fairly new to both authors having never read something written by both of them together but this story was so intense a definite page turner and that ending ugh can’t wait for the next book!!
Definite 5 stars and I highly recommend this story its unique and different but sooo good you won’t be disappointed!
*** I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book ***
***4 “Come back to me!!!” stars***
“All we have is today. Tomorrow might never come.”
The truth is that this is a story that not many people can understand and accept.
Hell, I’m not even sure that i can fully accept it myself, but nobody can’t deny that this was a charming story full of difficult choices and second chances…
And after this ending, I’m sitting on pins of needles to see what will happen after all!!!
“Everything had an expiration date though. Even true love somethimes withers away. Just like how a fragile rose, once cut at the stem, loses its beauty and perished before your very eyes.”
Valentina, Logan, Quaid and Carter’s story started at the age of thirteen…
She was the new girl in the neighborhood and these three were the best friends that all of them had fallen for her…
Their friendship were deep and strong but the lines between the four of them were always blurred…
And then Valentina took the hardest decision of her life…
“You four are like magnets in a compass. You might be pulling in your own different directions, but remain tied together at the very center -a beautiful compass that will always show you the way back to each other, no matter the hardships that may lay ahead.”
Ten years later, Valentina isn’t in a very good place…
She just need to cease the day and accept the inevitable…
That she will always need her three soulmates and that she needs them to be there by her side…
So, she is deciding to bring them back to her through three letters, but will these three will answer the siren’s call???
“Will you let true happiness slip through your fingers a second time, or are you brave enough to take this leap with me?”
Well, these situation between the four of them was really hard to be accepted on an emotional level…
I won’t hide to you that i was frustrated as hell at the most part, especially since my heart had decided who should be the chosen one…
From one hand, i could understand Valentina’s reasoning, but still… something was kicking inside of me… She seemed a little bit selfish and i really get it, even though what i’m saying it sounds crazy…
She loved those three guys equally and she needed all of them by her side, but what about them???
“For me, they were always a package deal, each completing me in different ways. And something would always be missing if one of them was gone.”
“Our love is the sum of four hearts, beautifully entwined and so integrally connected that to take one piece out, would ruin its perfection.”
The three boys who are men now were all amazing creatures and so different between them…
Logan was the golden boy with the golden heart. He could accept anything and he could give anything.
Quaid was the jockster and the jock of the lot. He was always the easygoing guy that was keeping the balances between the four of them.
Carter was the silent, broody guy who could throw you out of balance with just a single look. He was the one that he preffered to lose everything, if he couldn’t have what he really wanted.
“Valentina Rossi coming into our lives feels like it was always meant to happen. Somehow, she was our missing link and now we are finally whole.” {Logan}
“Somehow, the universe has decided that I’m going to get a chance with the only girl I could never forget.
This time, Val, you’re gonna be mine.” {Quaid}
“I’d thought that I’d recovered from my addiction to Valentina, but it’s obvious that it’s strong as it had ever been.” {Carter}
Yes, all three boys were amazing on their own way, but my heart was given to Carter from the very first moment, and i can relate with him in the way of thinking…
He was the one who was causing troubles, but he was also the only who seemed to be right on the way he was thinking… My heart was breaking for him over and over again.
For all of them, and for the mess that they had to go through in order to have the girl of their dreams…
“One day, you will have to choose. And on that day, you better believe it’s going to be me.”
“You killed the boy who loved you and would have done anything for you, and the man I’ve become isn’t going to give you the chance to do that again.” {Carter}
Well, this was a very intriguing story about four people that gave another meaning on the world “soulmates”.
Yep, i was angry and frustrated as hell in here, but that doesn’t mean that the story didn’t have a great impact to me.
I love Ivy Fox’s writing and in combination with C.R. Jane, they delivered an amazing, even though painful, result.
“The truth is always scary, Valentina.”
***I received an ARC for the exchange of an honest review***
Omg ! What an emotional rollercoaster. Val is amazing and the guys…I don’t even know where to begin. I love seeing their friendship evolve. All the best love stories start with a beautiful friendship. I will be anxiously awaiting the second book. Great job ladies !!!
As usual with Ivy’s books I’m obsessed with this story!
Her and CR have put all the feels into this book! Val and her 3 guys are each missing a piece of their hearts and what’s left is jagged and broken. So many things are left unspoken, old hurts won’t be so easily forgotten no matter how hard they try. It’s going to be hard but so worth it!
Book 2 cant get here fast enough, I’m dying to see what happens next!
CR Jane and Ivy knocked this read out of the park!
My heart hurts—in the best way—which is par for the course with Ivy Fox.
I was extremely nervous to read this book because of the stigma that comes with an FMC that has an illness, but I was so happy I gave this book a chance!
I can’t wait for the conclusion to this story, and to see what these amazing authors come up with!
Where to start?!
This book had me feeling all the feels! The ending was… woah! All I know is I need more and I cannot wait for part two!
I went into this book not having read the blurb and honestly, I’m okay with that.
I fell in love with every character and I couldn’t put this book down! Valentina is a great, strong female lead and I loved her POV. I really enjoyed the ‘then’ and ‘now’ aspect of the narrative too. Reading about them as teenagers just added another dimension to the interactions between Val and the guys as adults.
Breathe Me is told from each of the four main characters POV and I really enjoyed getting an insight into each of their thoughts and feelings. Logan, Quaid and Carter are each flawed but loveable.
Brooding Carter has to be my favourite though!
I need to know what happened ten years ago so bad!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
My freakinggggg heart!!!! Breathe Me gave me all the freaking emotions!! C.R. Jane and Ivy Fox cowriting together has given me a heartstopping emotional wreck that I AM HERE FOR! It’s so hard to write a review for a book that REALLY pulls at your emotions because you can’t give away WHY but still want to express how much the book touched you! This is absolutely a soul reaching book and I am so happy to see it has become a duet! I can’t wait for more, and yes, I might be a bit of a masochist but I am so okay with that when it means I get the amazingness that is Breathe Me!
Oh gosh. That cliffhanger!!!!
This story is a time jump. It jumps between the 4 in their youth and first meeting and building a relationship and then to 20 or so years in the future where you find something has divided them and they’re reuniting. There are so many secrets and side stories to unravel where everyone is and why. It was a great start to what I think will be an excellent series. I am DYING for book 2 already!
I knew I needed to mentally prepare myself before I started reading this one. Ivy Fox and C.R. Jane have created an emotional masterpiece that tugs at your heartstrings at every step of the way. Even though this book is far from what you would call a happy romance, it had the perfect amount of passion and heartache. I fell In love with each and every character, and I can’t wait to see what the second book in the series has in store.
Ohhhh this book totally devestated me, broke my lil heart, and left me an emotional mess. But you know what, it wouldn’t stop me from reading it all over again.
I fell in love with this story pretty much from the off. My heart ached as I read the words and I secretly hoped that the diagnosis was wrong, that it was a dream or something.
I believed her father when he called them her soulmates. The love they shared was profoundly beautiful but they weren’t ready for it as teenagers. I had high hopes with a reunion on the cards.
They all had dreams that went wrong, surely now fate wouldn’t be cruel, surely they could have time to love, be loved and bask in that glow that all new relationships have.
Valentina is so selfless and brave, I would wish on every star in the sky if it would give her a chance at life. She deserves it so much.
The boys are so different. There’s Logan who’s extremely clever, Quaid the sporty quaterback, and Carter the antisocial who’s shrouded in darkness and solitude.
When they come together everything is forgotten and they simply become the dream team, well until feelings and emotions run high that is.
I love both Ivy Fox and C.R Jane as solo authors so I knew this pairing up was going to result in something special, and oh boy its that and so much more!
Sadness and shattered dreams, a love that never died amidst anger and lustful thoughts, equals a read I for one will not forget in a long time!
I can’t wait for the second book in this duet!
