Losing my brother was my breaking point. After years of disappointment and pain, never again was I letting someone penetrate my heart. As long as I could still play my drums, I would tolerate the bullshit that came with being a member of the band Borrowed Faith. What I didn’t see coming was a redheaded angel, her name true to her looks. Apple was the epitome of forbidden fruit, too special for … too special for someone like me.
Her rock legend father made it crystal clear.
More importantly, so did my head.
My heart should’ve listened.
The angel should’ve, too.
I knew the demons in me would destroy her.

I am a huge fan of Ruby Rowe and her books seem to be getting better and better! This is a new book in a new series that follows the members of a rock band. Breathe Into Me is the story of Tripp Townsend the drummer of Borrowed Faith and Apple is the daughter of Dex Kingley, also a rock star who does not want her daughter to fall for a musician. Apple is writing an article on the members of Borrowed Faith. Apple feels an instant connection to Tripp. Once she meets him she feels as if she was meant to meet him and somehow help him with what he is struggling with. This bookis the first book I have ever read that has a bit of paranormal elements to it and I must say I quite enjoyed that aspect. Apple has slowly revealed to the band her ability and the ones who have been shown are open to it. Apple is having a hard time deciding how to tell Tripp and have be receptive to it. The two have grown closer as the time goes and she is also afraid he will push her away when he learns the whole truth and the message she needs to give him. The two are definitely destined to be together. This is a wonderfully written story about their journey as well as how Apple touches everyone’s life. The scenes revolving around the paranormal aspects were at times so emotional as heartwarming. I definitely felt them. Tripp was a surprise to read about at times. He is not your average bad boy rock star. Once he realizes how he and Apple are connected its amazing. I look forward to the next book in the series. Dark Into Me will be about Zain who is a family friend of Apple’s. I loved the HEA of this book!
Absolutely love all Ruby Rowe’s books she never lets me down and Beathe Into Me was a hit for me! All though Paranormal is not my normal genre, l loved it! The other band members where awesome characters! Tripp & Apple’s story sucked me into their world and their love! Can’t wait for Zain’s story Dark On Me!
Breathe Into Me in a good read. There’s a lot stuff going on in this story. It’s not a light fluffy read and deals with some deep topics and some interesting topics. Apple is the daughter of a famous rock star, Dex. Dex has managed to keep her shelter and away from the public eye. Apple is sweet and nice. She’s unique and has a special talent. I totally loved the aspect her special talent brings to the story. She’s tagging along with Borrowed Faith to interview them for a story. The band members of Borrowed Faith are kind of an emotional mess. Apple and Zian know each other form before and they have this weird friend connection. Zian and Apple help each other out but Tripp is who Apple really wants to help. Tripp lost his brother and since then he changed. He’s grumpy and angry a lot. Apple comes in and changes things. We get to see a nice side of Tripp at some points. I really liked this one but at the end I still wanted to know a little more. The next book in the series says it based on Zain but I’m hoping that we get a little more of some of the stuff that happened in this story too.
This is the first book I’ve read by Ruby Rowe and I was not disappointed to find a new author for me! Tripp is the drummer for Borrowed Faith and Apple is the daughter of a rock legend they just so happen to be touring with. I like these characters a lot, especially Zain. They each have their own story to tell and their own demons they are fighting. Tripp has lost his brother, so he’s hurting and lashes out at everyone. Apple is a very tender-hearted person, so I will say that at times, I wasn’t the craziest about her because of how sensitive she was. I wanted her to toughen up because it seemed like she did cry quite a bit and at the drop of a hat..but…the further I read into the book, the more I understood why she was so emotional and she did start standing up for herself as well. With Tripp, he doesn’t expect to have a connection with Apple but he does and he can’t deny it. I liked how the two of them sort of had their own language they spoke with each other. They didn’t have to say much for the other to understand. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more from Borrowed Faith!
First I have to say that I loved loved this book so much! It was so much more than I expected and I need book two like ASAP! I never wanted Apple and Tripp’s story to end. It was amazing and they had amazing chemistry between them when it finally released. Tripp tried so hard to stay away from Apple but it did not work out. Even when Apple’s father threatened him to stay away that he did not want his baby girl with a rock star because they were not good enough for his baby girl and that was saying something because Apple’s father was a rock star legend and he knew what could happen to his baby girl.
But you know what they say about the heart wanting what it wants and getting it……. well that happens here and it is an amazing journey Tripp and Apple went through. You will enjoy the highs and the lows and the strength it took Tripp to stay away from Apple when all his heart wanted was her. So go on and one click this one and enjoy the rock star ride you are about to get!
This book is so good. This is my first Ruby Rowe book and I absolutely loved it from beginning to end. I was drawn in by it being a Rock Romance and so glad that I went into it not knowing that it had a little bit of paranormal in it. I just don’t do paranormal, but Ruby Rowe introduced me to this genre in a way that I didn’t mind it at all. I loved it actually. Breathe Into Me sucked me in from the very beginning and made me love all of the band members. Tripp and Apple’s story was such a page turner and so addicting. Their story was a wild ride that I am so glad that I took a chance on. I can’t wait to get Zain’s story in the next book. It looks like I am a new Ruby Rowe Stalker.
Happy Reading Everyone!!!

An ultimately enjoyable story I felt could have used a little polish
I was brand new to this author, though a couple of her books are on my TBR, but rockstar is a favorite genre and I usually like troubled main characters so I thought this would a good book to start off with.
I have to say I’m a bit on the fence about this book. I liked the characters and loved the setup; Apple’s abilities surprised and intrigued as did the concept of a talented band whose members were struggling to get along. While I liked Tripp, I didn’t really connect with him (though I was rooting for him for Apple’s sake) as I found myself more interested in Zain. The story itself definitely had my interest and the author generally did a good job keeping me invested—I was yelling at more than one character over the course of the story, lol.
There were a couple of things I had issues with. For one, there were times the language didn’t flow for me, with some dialogue sounding unnatural to my inner ear (I “hear” books in my head as I read, so language sticks out for me). Also I had problems with how Apple is depicted. While I can buy her inexperience given her age, upbringing and particular abilities (and I was completely willing and even excited to suspend disbelief regarding those abilities), I had trouble believing an intelligent, Princeton educated wanna-be journalist raised by a rockstar parent wouldn’t be familiar with social media (which is a huge part of modern journalism) or know what trending is no matter how sheltered she was. While it probably wouldn’t bother a lot of people, it’s the kind of thing that’s a pet peeve for me.
At the end of the day, while the story had great bones and I did end up enjoying it, I just felt it could have used a little more polish. I’d call the end of this one part HFN instead of a true HEA, because there are still some questions to be answered and an underlying plot I presume will continue on through the series. I do look forward to reading the next book as I’m itching to see Zain get his act together. 3.5 stars

This book was not much different than what I’m used to reading from this author in the sense that she sucked me in from the moment I started reading. She might have put a little spin with a little paranormal into this book but nothing over the top or exaggerating. It was just perfect and very believable.
This book is about a band with their band members having issues and can’t seem to get along. Tripp is the main culprit in this story since he’s always broody and moody and never wants to interact with his band members. He is closed off and it all happened after his brother Nathan died of an overdose. Tripp always felt safe and protected around Nathan but after his death, he completely put a wall up and wasn’t letting anyone through.
When Apple joined the tour bus due to her wanting to interview all the band members for her father’s magazine, she was the first person to be able to get close to Tripp. She had a very close relationship with one of the other members and this was a step for her to get closer to everyone else.
Her pull towards Tripp was very strong and she felt that chemistry from the moment she laid eyes on him. Tripp found Apple attractive but didn’t want to get close to her because of his demons.
But Apple found a way to convince Tripp to give them a chance at something, but she was scared to reveal her powers to him because she felt like she was going to lose him.
This was a very interesting story and now I can’t wait to read the books about the rest of the members and see what else Ms. Rowe has up her sleeve with their stories.
I’m very intrigued and looking forward to continue reading the journey of this band and what we can expect from their stories.
I love reading a book that will have you laughing, crying and smiling. I absolutely love Tripp and Apple’s story. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
**ARC REVIEW** 3.5-4
This was actually totally different from Ruby Rowe’s books. Kinda like a new adult/paranormal romance.
Apple is a young ambitious beauty who attends the road with a rock band opening for her Dads band. She rekindles her friendship with Zain and in the process meets the troubled soul Tripp. Apple having certain abilities, she feels complete when she’s near Tripp and wants to start a relationship. As much as Tripp feels the pull towards Apple he’s still skeptical if he’s enough for Apple.
It’s a book about Friendship, Love and lots of Emotional feels.
Ruby Rowe knows how to pack quite the emotional wallop when she writes her romance stories. Her newest book “Breathe Into Me” is the story of Tripp Townsend who is the drummer of Borrowed Faith and Apple , who is the daughter of Dex Kingley, also a rock star who doesn’t want his daughter to fall for a musician.
Apple and Tripp will immediately catch your attention and take you on a wild ride full of emotions, twists, turns, passion, secrets and paranormal elements. What a deliciously dark and beautiful rockstar romance. Apple and Tripp’s love story is full of heat and drama. Love and Angst. I don’t want to spoil anything but trust me, Ms. Rowe has a powerfully strong romance that will have you on the edge of your seat until the very last word on the very last page. I cannot wait to read the next book in this new series which is Dark On Me!
My Rating: 4.7 stars *****
REALLY cool story!
I’ll be honest; I wasn’t sure what to make of this book at first. I’ve read LOTS of Ruby’s books, and this one was written in a “voice” that seemed aimed at a “new adult” audience and wasn’t what I was used to reading from her.
But then.
I got sucked in.
Hours. This was one of those books I spent hours upon hours sitting and reading because I HAD to know what happened next and how it ended.
Yes, this is a rock star romance, and yes this has paranormal elements and yes it has a heroine who is not “I don’t need a man! I’m a woman! I’m an island!” and yes, I LOVED it.
Apple was a joy to read. She was just so nice and naive and yet savvy enough to keep me 100% on her side throughout. And she loved Tripp and was willing to do whatever it took for love to survive.
Tripp was AWESOME. He was damaged and moody and angry and everything I love in a hero.
Then there’s Zain, and I’m SO happy to see this is book 1 of a series because he SO needs a book.
In conclusion, this was not the typical Ruby book but I am SO glad she took the risk because, for me, it REALLY paid off!
With this book, our Ruby tried her hand at a little paranormal added to her normal steamy romance. I was skeptical, as I always am when one of my favorite authors decides to take off in a new direction. But I was blown away by this story. Ruby did a wonderful job with her first dive into the paranormal world. It wasn’t over the top, which so many authors do on their first try, but just enough to pull you in and keep you on the edge and turning pages.
This story about Apple, Tripp and Zain was like no other I have read. Apple has a special gift that some may not believe but that’s ok because the only one that matter is Tripp. Tripp has so much anger since he lost someone so close to him. He keeps his band mates at arms distance but when Apple is around she makes him feel. These two have a pull between them and as much as Tripp fights it, it doesn’t go away. I am in love with this story.
I know that there a ton of bad boy rock star romances out there, but this was so good!! It’s a gut punch at times, full of guilt and regret, but there is also hope, dreams, lust and love….it’s all wrapped into one great story I just couldn’t put down!
OMG! Wow. Man, talk about being blindsided. Ruby really pulled all the stops on this bad boy. One fantastic storyline and strong plot really keep you riveted from start to finish. Such an extremely intense, palpable and explosive chemistry between the two main characters as they face unexpected trials and tribulations. Secrets run rampant as truths are revealed that will rock this baby to the core. Ruby nailed this bad boy and brought it roaring to life brilliantly with so much passion and imagination it leaves you in awe. The characters and scenes are written with such realism it really pulls this little jewel together smoothly. Remarkable job Ruby, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.
Rock Romance with a Twist
Well, this book was a surprise to me…a good surprise. It had a touch of paranormal added to it and I usually don’t do paranormal BUT this book was so good and made sense to me as how it was used that it did not strike me as the “normal” paranormal book.
Now, with that said let’s get onto the awesome part with everything rock star. Oh, yeah it gave me the bad boy rock stars and everything that entails; drinking, drugs, groupies, and discontentment within the band. Borrowed Faith was made up of members who were struggling to get along since the death of one of the co-founders and big brother to Tripp. Tripp had drastically changed since his brother’s death and was starting out on tour with the legendary Fully Wired. The last thing he wanted was to be interviewed by Fully Wired’s Dexter Kingsley’s daughter Apple. Apple was raised as far away from the rock lifestyle with her dad telling her to stay away from musicians. Now for one more important player in this story is Zain whose father happens to be another famous rocker in the Fully Wired band. Zain and Apple had known of each other since they were kids but when Apple was sent away to school and eventually went to Princeton they had lost touch.
Apple was to do an article on Borrowed Faith for her father’s upcoming e magazine and she was excited to get up close and personal with them and see how the rock world really worked. Zain and Apple started a relationship that they realized was friend zone only and Zain had a great sense of humor along with his living life on the edge with the women, booze and drugs. It was Tripp that caught Apple’s eye and they both felt this crazy connection that wasn’t explainable but Tripp was so into his dark world would it even be possible for Apple to exist near him? She was a woman who wanted nothing more than to help Tripp and Borrowed Faith by helping them all heal.
This is the first time I read this author and loved it!! I can’t wait to get my hands on Zain’s book next.
