They say there is always a calm before the storm. A time when you think you’re safe, protected from the destruction that you know is going to eventually come. Harper was that calm. And I? I was the motherfucking storm. As kids we were best friends. She was the light to my darkness. I used to protect her from her bullies, now I’ll become her most feared one. Seeing her for the first time after … first time after three years was like a bucket of ice water being poured on me. It chilled me to the bone, making me irrational, angry. No longer is she a little girl but a grown woman with curves and eyes that pierce my black soul.
No one knows the darkness that lingers under the surface, all they see is my smile, my charismatic charm. I’m the all American golden boy.
Having her back in my life is awakening something inside of me. She reminds me of everything good, everything I’ll never have and I refuse to let her stay.
She has to go and the only person dark enough, dirty enough to scare her away is me…
Breaking Harper isn’t as easy… I thought I knew everything, turns out others are just as good at hiding their secrets as I am.
Damaged, dark and falling off the deep end. Will I break her? Will I break us?
“Sometimes the scariest monsters aren’t those that hide in the dark. Sometimes they’re the ones hidden right in plain sight… like me.”
*This is a standalone DARK bully romance. This book contains scenes that may be triggering to some readers. This is not a YA romance novel and should be read by those only 18+ or older. *

Intense, emotional and angst filled, Warren and Harper’s story quickly pulls you into this complicated tale of friendship, romance, heartbreak, hate and anger. I found it impossible not to feel for Harper and I would totally be lying if I said that I never wanted to smack Warren right upside his head because he really pushed and pushed, until he almost went past that point of no return for me. I give Harper serious kudos for being able to forgive Warren and move on because I’m not sure I could have.
Holy wow this is one intense page turner with Warren being a very dark bully he does not hold back his demons when he sees Harper the love of his life once again he is so filled with hate I dont know how she handled it but she is one strong woman.
These two are intense right from the start and theres no slowing them down its a little frightening and I loved it. What a wild ride.
5 HOT Stars!
The dynamic duo has done again! This whole series is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!! I loved it so much! This book in particular has me on the edge of my seat. It is full of suspense, twists and turns, and of course TONS OF HEAT! I couldn’t put it down. With masterful writing, this whole series is woven together so beautifully. Bravo again Ms. Beck and Ms. Hallman!
In few parts I felt the hurt Harper felt with Warrens words about hating her, and needing another to wipe her away and to get rid of the problem. He was so hateful and abusive and even blackmailed her into his abuse, even I would call what he did was more of a rape of her mind and emotions to get what he wanted . Dirty, Gritty and all the Angrish is 99% of this book, he’ll cha ge his ways towards the last 2 chapters.
Harper was a maids daughter and Warren is the only son of a rich doucebag. They were young with they first saw the other and Warren was feeling her lightness in life. They cared and loved the other but never went intimate. So when his father shows Warren some papers, he went into the deep end and when dark and hateful. Harper never knew why Warren would push her away or why his father fired her mother.
3 years later Harper gets a scholarship to a fancy college and her her first day there she finds s herself staring into eyes that are full of hate, darkness and disbelief at seeing her.
He vows to make her pay, her body, her heart or her schooling…
Which one will he hurt her with?.?.?
4.5 stars
Another great addition to this series. There are some similarities to B.E. Series #1 but I still enjoyed it. The hot scenes were great too. But what happened to James??
“My bully. My monster. My tormentor.”
Breaking you is Warren story and we met him in Hating You and I didn’t think there was a bully meaner than Parker but boy was I wrong. This author duo keeps getting better and better with every book they write and when i didn’t think they could go and top the last book they come out with they do . This was a fast paced bully romance and it immediately sucks you in with the secrets , the lies , the betrayal and the suspense it all makes for a great bully romance story . My heart broke for Harper and at first I wanted to knock the shit out of Warren , but as I kept reading I couldn’t help but feel sorry and fall for him . JL Beck and C. Hallman know how to create these alpha hole male characters and make them into the biggest ass holes and then makes them redeemable is truly brilliant ! Cant wait for more to come from this power house duo !

Warren and Harper we teenage loves from different sides of the track. He lived in the mansion and her mom cleaned the mansion. They were separated by lies and misunderstandings. 4 years later, Warren sees her again. they are attending the same college. He tries everything to break her. He is mean, petty and so dominant. Harper has some backbone in most situations but pretty much lets him bully her. He soon realizes that things are not quite what he thinks. When he pushes her too far, he has to scramble to get her back. I love that Harper eventually pushes back. Good bully story that pushes the tab a little in some of his exploits but he redeems himself in the end. He is lucky she takes him back.

Dark, gritty, intense, captivating, undeniably raw read that will rip your heart out and stomp all over it… You will say thank you and ask for so much more! Another JL Beck and Cassy Hallman book for the win!! So believable and real you become drawn in and it refuses to let you go… You won’t want it to end. Grab a box of tissues, chocolate and a case of wine… Also, get a few hours of sleep before you start this one… You will read it cover to cover gasping aloud, hand covering your mouth, and yelling, “Oh no he didn’t!” More than once! Congrats ladies!
I love a good bully romance. I honestly just can’t get enough of them. So yeah just go ahead and give me all of them, well at least the good ones. And this second book in the Blackthorn series definitely did not disappoint. It was dark, twisty and oh so delicious!
Received ARC from Author for Honest Review
I Give this books 4.5/5 Star Rating, Listing as 4.
HEA(?): Yes.
No In-depth Spoilers.
This is hands down my favorite book so far in the series, The beginning immediately drew me in and I couldn’t stop reading, but I still feel like some details were missing and there should’ve been a reappearance of some characters. But they never showed up again near the end of the book, so for that reason I couldn’t give it a complete 5/5.
Romance: 4/5
Drama: 3.5-4/5
Suspense: 4/5
Heat: 3.5/5
I cannot wait for book 3 of this series, I love this writing duo! 😀

Warren & Harper’s story made me angry and anxious and annoyed and wishing I could reach through my kindle and strangle Warren!! He is so mean and horrible to Harper, I just wanted to give her a big hug. Harper holds her own and keeps Warren on his toes, but he puts her between a rock and a hard place (literally) so she has to go along with what he wants her to do. It gets quite steamy at times, so I don’t suggest reading this in a public place! If you like bully romances then this is the book for you!! Enjoy!!
Warren is hurt and he has one thing on his mind…revenge. Harper has no idea what caused but Warren hates her but she is devastated when he begins to torment her. Will his hatred ruin her or will he realize the thin line between love and hate.
Great characters. One critique of the story line is that there is no resolution between Warren and his father.

They met as children, quickly becoming friends, but his family tried their best to keep them apart. They came from different worlds, his an affluent world with high expectations, and hers a loving and kind penniless world. In their teens they began dating and spending every waking moment together… but once again his parents found a way to pull them apart, and break Warren and Harper’s hearts in the process.
Now they are about to be reunited, and it’s not going to be a very happy reunion. Warren has a score to settle, and will stop at nothing to make sure Harper understands just how much she destroyed him when they broke up.
And well… Harper doesn’t have a clue that she just wandered into the devils den, and she is expected to pay for her past sins.
What you find between the pages of Breaking You is bound to break your heart in a million pieces, and push you to unimaginable limits… it is not a story for the faint hearted. This is a dark romance, one with gut-wrenching emotion, and insurmountable pain. One little misunderstanding completely wrecked their relationship, and in the time since they’ve been together a lot of hate has been harbored, and it’s going to take more than one little ‘I’m sorry’ to sort this thing out. Watching these two fight their past demons, and slowly find their way back to one another completely wrecked me… each word was riddled with so much hatred and pain, often becoming a lot to digest. But as with every bad situation, there is always one little bright spot, and for them it was the bone deep connection they had… it just wouldn’t let them give up on one another. I absolutely loved every single second of this story, the angst and emotion were high, the love was easily felt, and the characters unforgettable! Definitely one of their best to date, highly recommend!

This book is definitely not for those who have triggers. It’s deliciously dark.
Although I HATED Warren I still really enjoyed the book. There were times I wasn’t ok with what he did. And I hated that Harper was basically a doormat. I wanted to slap some sense into her.
Beck & Hallman know how to write dark bully romances. And this one did not disappoint. Can’t wait for the next one!
O.M.G this story was dark, twisted, sexy and SO, SO GOOD!! J.L. Beck & C. Hallman are masterminds with their words!! You can’t help having a love/hate relationship with the characters they give us!! I can’t wait for Hurting You (A Blackthorn Elite #3) to be live 1/31/20!! This series is a MUST READ!!
If you like bully romances that are slightly a bit darker then youll definitely love this book. I do and this book is right up my street but then again Ms Beck & Ms Hallman havent wrote anything that i havent liked. This book is no different. Harper (FMC) and Warren have a tempestuous relationship. One that started out as friends when Harper’s parents worked for Warren’s. That slowly blossomed into attraction & love but then outside influences and misunderstandings turn that love into hate. Mainly on Warren’s side but when Harper starts at Blackthorne he takes every opportunity to bully her. I genuinely wanted to slap Warren for some of the stunts he pulled on Harper and how he treated her. Still with all of that i couldnt help but wish that Warren opened his eyes, stop being a prat, see the person Harper was and back get together. Another brilliant read though ladies
Where do I start? Breaking You leaves you feeling all the pain and emotions of a innocent love lost through lies and betrayal.
This is a dark bully romance Warren hated Harper for her betrayal and heartbreak, leaving him, only to return 3 years later at Blackthorn Academy as a student. Warren sets out to destroy Harper by whatever means necessary. What he wasn’t expecting was his heart to feel anything besides hatred for Harper.
This is a captivating storyline with amazing complex characters, somehow throughout his torment his decided she was his to own. His to destroy, his to protect. No one was to touch her except him. Secrets always find a way to surface and when they do Warren will do anything to claim what is his.
I highly recommend this book and series.
This story grabbed me and refused to let me go. I couldn’t put it down. It has so much drama and suspense. It’s characters are fabulously developed. As you read you can feel their pain and frustrations. And yet in moments of happiness you can’t help but smile for them. It is well written and has beautifully developed characters. It is great to see some of the characters from the first book. This is definitely worth reading and doesn’t disappoint.

I was so excited to finally get to this book after reading Warren’s tease at the end of Parker and Willow’s story! It did not disappoint. So many dark emotions and feelings swirling inside of Warren, all blamed on Harper. All could have been avoided if communication had been better, but then there would have been no delicious angst to enjoy ;-).

What a page turner. I couldn’t put the book down. It grabs your attention and keeps it till the end. Harper & Warren have been friends since they have been kids now that they are older things are much different. Warren is in college when he sees a ghost from his past and is determined to make sure she is just that in his past. Harper is going to the same college when she sees Warren. He bullies her and treats her horrible to get her to leave. She takes the bulling because she wants to stay in school but along the way she finds out why he has been treating her poorly. it all works out but Warren needs her to forgive him for the way he treated her after finding out the secret from the past.
