They say there is always a calm before the storm. A time when you think you’re safe, protected from the destruction that you know is going to eventually come. Harper was that calm. And I? I was the motherfucking storm. As kids we were best friends. She was the light to my darkness. I used to protect her from her bullies, now I’ll become her most feared one. Seeing her for the first time after … first time after three years was like a bucket of ice water being poured on me. It chilled me to the bone, making me irrational, angry. No longer is she a little girl but a grown woman with curves and eyes that pierce my black soul.
No one knows the darkness that lingers under the surface, all they see is my smile, my charismatic charm. I’m the all American golden boy.
Having her back in my life is awakening something inside of me. She reminds me of everything good, everything I’ll never have and I refuse to let her stay.
She has to go and the only person dark enough, dirty enough to scare her away is me…
Breaking Harper isn’t as easy… I thought I knew everything, turns out others are just as good at hiding their secrets as I am.
Damaged, dark and falling off the deep end. Will I break her? Will I break us?
“Sometimes the scariest monsters aren’t those that hide in the dark. Sometimes they’re the ones hidden right in plain sight… like me.”
*This is a standalone DARK bully romance. This book contains scenes that may be triggering to some readers. This is not a YA romance novel and should be read by those only 18+ or older. *

“There are a thousand emotions lying dormant inside me, a million thoughts swirling, but all I can think about is… why does he hate me so much? What did I do to him?”
Harper’s scholarship is her chance to attend an elite college and secure a good future for herself. But seeing someone from the past can jeopardize her plans and dreams. Just like her life.
Warren doesn’t believe that after three years he is face to face with the person who broke his heart and made him the monster he is today. His good-boy facade masks his true obscure face. He thought he knew Harper, but the way she tricked and lied to him made him hate her. And seeing her now, he is sure she will pay for everything.
A rich boy. The maid’s daughter. A manipulative father. A young love. A misunderstanding. A betrayal. And a troubled separation.
Harper will have to fight to make sure her future is not ripped from her, but Warren will be a fearsome opponent. And her life will turn into hell.
When it comes to bully romance, the scenes are intense, shocking, and even uncomfortable. Warren deserved some slaps in some scenes.
Some questions were left unanswered, such as who and why broke into Harper’s house, as well as what happened to Warren and his father.
If you like dark books and controversial heroes, this series is a good choice.

When i read the book title i thought that this would be a YA bully romance novel because of the characters being in college…..no….i wouldnt recommend anyone under the age of 18 reading this book.
This is a dark bully romance that is so explosive that you will actually be exhausted emotionally when you finish reading it.
When Warren sees Harper at his college he is overtaken by absolute rage and all he wants to do is hurt her and get revenge for what she did to him years ago…

OMG !!! I loved Harper and Warren’s story. Talk about second chances !! This storyline is amazing. Love, hate, anger fear and chemistry fills this book to the brim. I was so captivated with it that I couldn’t put it down until the last word was finished. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing read.
Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Warren wants revenge on the Harper from years ago, he blames Harper for his broken heart, and made him into a monster. There was twist and turns, love hate relationship and chemistry between them is intense.
Thank you for allowing me to review your book.

This is yet another really good piece of writing by Beck and Hallman. These two excellent writers got my attention a while back with their mafia series and I’ve followed them ever since. I have never been disappointed in any book of theirs that I have read.
Warren, the antihero who pressed my patience to an extreme, and Harper, the sweet and caring young woman who is do completely confused as to the cause of his anger against her. This is another excellent bully romance, one of my favorite tropes. And this one is done exceptionally well.
I cared about these characters. I WANTED them to come together, and to me that is an indication of excellent writing. I’m involved in the story, not merely reading it. This is what these two authors do. They grab you and hold you firm until you finish the book.
If you like darker romances, this is the book for you. Highly recommended.
Soooo loved it. I don’t think there has been a book from both of you I haven’t loved! When I read your stories I feel like I’m apart of it in some way and it’s amazing. I can’t wait to read more.
Warren is introduced to us in Hating You, but here he is the main character and we get to see so much more from him. Warren has become insensitive and out for himself after the past changed everything he thought he knew and thought he believed to be true. But he never did confirm the rumors and took them as presented. He has saved up for his revenge if the chance arose and when Harper showed up at Blackthorn, is was fate! Will Warren be able to see clearly after things are explained? Will he break Harper before it is too late?
Harper has dealt with a lot growing up, but she always counted on Warren to be there for her and with her throughout life, but one day that all changed and Warren was no longer on her side. But when she gets the chance to be on her own and get an education, she doesn’t pass that up. But when she sees and interacts with Warren she is second guessing her motives and whether she will stay or not. Will Warren believe her?
This is a great addition to the series and what a book/story!!! Sometimes what we see is not always what it seems, but when two people love each other, can they see through all the lies and rumors? Will Warren and Harper end up together? This story has some triggers, so be warned. But if you love a good bully romance novel, you will love this! I can’t wait for more from the authors. I received an ARC of this book from the author.
Another great Bully romance by Beck & Hallman!!! These two have quickly became a favorite for an enemies to lovers/bullying trope!
Warren and Harper were combustible together! Warren is totally easy to hate for treating Harper badly! Harper is so easy to love and is totally confused as to why her past love is so cruel to her.
This book is a stand-alone, but I also recommend reading Hating You(book 1).
Entertaining read and thoughtfully written. College setting for this series which is great for sexual mature themes. The hero in this tale was perhaps more jealous / possessive, though not too dissimilar from, the hero in book one, and could very well warrant the title of over the top (which I secretly loved). The sweet heroine was very much still in love with this hero from their past. I liked that she displayed an inner strength and wasn’t that sassy heroine with something to prove to others. The little twist in the story which recalled why the hero was upset with, and the distain the hero’s father felt for, the heroine to begin with was a welcomed surprise.
The book ended rather too quickly and with some unresolved issues, one of which might be answered in the next release.
Overall, great book. I am looking forward to the next in the series, especially as it looks to be menage.
This book was a book I could not put down. I wantes to read it from the beginning to the end!!! Loved the book!!!
Before I go into my review I want to warn those that have triggers – tread lightly with this read, there is dubious consent, verbal assault, and just horrible treatment. It is frequent until about 75% thru. This is a bully/second chance romance and there is a light in the end with a happily ever after.
Harper has worked hard for her scholarship to Blackthorn University, she plans on staying focused and keeping at it until her eyes land on the guy she loved….always loved. Warren.
Warren can’t believe he see her, the girl that he gave his heart to and had it shattered. He vows to make her pay for what she did and to make her leave.
Harper doesn’t understand why Warren hates her, is punishing her. But she can see that he still cares, even with all the the hatred he spews.
When the truth of what really happened in the past comes out, will Warren be able to win back the love of his life after everything he puts her thru?
I was impressed with this bully romance. Cassandra brought to life Warren and Harper in this story, she wrote both sides perfectly. Warren was a complete jerk, but you could feel his pain. Harper, the sweet angel – some may say she was weak but she was strong in my eyes. She put up with a ton. I fell in love with these characters and was so happy to see their happily ever after. I can’t wait to read more of Cassandra’s works.

This stand-alone book 2 is an exceptionally well-written, dark, second chance at romance with characters that have history with each other. These characters are very well-crafted with strength and purpose. The supporting characters are also well-constructed and full of life. I could not put the book down until I finished it. The characters are very realistic and full of life. A must read book, series and Author.
I am voluntarily leaving a review from an ARC copy.
Breaking You was a fabulous bully/second chance romance. Warren and Harper had history and now three years later she is at Blackthorn. He is out to break her over a misunderstanding that she has no clue about. It’s all about communication!! Warren was mean and cruel but his good side peeked out every now and again. Harper was so sweet and just a great all around girl. There’s drama, deceit, passion, suspense, twists and turns, forgiveness and plenty of heat! I really enjoy this duo’s storylines and I look forward to the next one.
“Warren wasn’t prince charming. He wasn’t a knight. He had become what true nightmares were made of. My bully. My monster. My tormentor.”
~Harper~
If people would just talk. So much could have been avoided between Harper and Warren if they just talked. Instead he went into bully mode, shut down when the past comes back. No matter how much he might hate her for what he thinks she did, it doesn’t stop him from wanting her in every conceivable way. No one else call even look or talk to her. Controlling to extremes. Possessive. But at the same time, he cares. Too much so at times.
Harper pretty innocent victim here. She’s and Warren had a past and when she meets him again after three years, it’s not the same guy she fell in love with. Doesn’t stop her from wanting him though. Even when he bullies her from their first meeting, she wants him. He may be possessive and controlling, but he keeps her safe too.
“Sometimes the scariest monsters aren’t those that hide in the dark. Sometimes they’re the ones hidden right in plain sight… like me.”
~Warren~
Sometimes you wonder if there’s anything redeeming about Warren then you get these little glimpses of maybe who he used to be. Before everything got crazy. Harper can appear weak at times, but she’s really not. You see a strength in her. The helps daughter and the golden boy. Opposites I guess. This series is getting better and better as we go and I can’t wait for more.
Beauty and the Beast theme – with a modern day style. Harper is truly innocent in the ways of life. Good-natured, helpful, a dutiful daughter and striving to further herself in education. But meeting with Warren is a shock to her senses. He is angry and resentful and she just doesn’t know why. A darker story, featuring some dubious consent.
Once again these two authors wrote a brilliant dark bully romance with a twist at the end. Just when you think you know who you are surprised.
This is book 2 of the Blackthorne series and the authors have done a great job in transitioning from book 1 into this book ensuring that the characters of both books are relevant to the other.
I highly recommend this book to all of those who like the dark!
Oh my flipping god, this book was so good!!! This is an enemies to Lovers story and let me tell you Warren hated Harper with a passion!!! At one time they were friends, they even dated and were in love, but a big misunderstanding destroys them. Three years have passed and neither have gotten over each other. While Harper has no idea what happened, Warren is out for vengeance. Breaking You is dark, twisted and intense. I absolutely loved it and their HEA!!
5 “holy sexual tension” stars
Yikes. Someone give me a fan to cool off. The amount of sexual tension in this story is off the charts!!! This is the second book in the Blackthorn Elite series which tells the story of Warren and Harper. We find out that Warren hates Harper, his former best friend and only love, for something that happened in their past, something that Harper has no idea about. Warren is brutal and cruel to the girl he used to love, but honestly, that just adds to the sexual tension between these two. My heart broke for Harper at some parts, especially after some of the stuff Warren said, but I was ecstatic when they received their HEA.
If you enjoyed Hating You with Parker and Willow, then you will love Breaking You! This book is a dark bully second chance romance that may contain triggers. While it can be read as a stand-alone, I would definitely recommend reading Hating You as well!
Despite Warren being a raging lunatic in the first book he has softened towards Harper and I enjoyed the soft side of him but would lie if I said i didn’t miss the psychopath lol. Harper and Warren story was based on a lot of lies and misunderstandings and tons of angst but it was perfect and I look forward to what’s next
